"Do you think they're up there?" Alex rhetorically asked, Veronica frowned, looking down at the boy, sat on the sand.

"Somehow, flight 180 are they still on the flight.Somewhere, are they safe?" He continuitied.Veronica stared at him, a warm smile creeping on her face.

"Y'know when me and Billy were kids, maybe six or seven we always thought we had this perfect family,me,him, my mum, my dad!" Veronica started. " .I used to lie in bed crying, praying that we never broke apart."

Alex shrugged his shoulders. "Well most kids do I guess."

"Most kids never had it happen.It all started when Dad was drunk one night, he slapped my mum across the face, after that night they started arguing way more often." Veronica explained, kneeling onto the floor, Alex looked back at her, scratching the back of his neck.

"When i was about nine I woke up because I heard a scream from downstairs.Me being curious I decided to go downstairs to check it out." Veronica started, looking down onto the ground. "When I got into the kitchen, I saw my Mums body laying there unconscious, Dad must have hit her again.I ran upstairs and cried myself to sleep that night, I don't think I was ever the same after that incident.About a week later, my mum wanted a divorce with my Dad." She breathed out, tears slowly forming in her eyes.

"My dad wanted custody over me and Billy but court didn't let him, kinda glad they didn't to be honest.The court said he could see us on the weekends, he did for a while until it became less often, every two weekends, then every three weekends and eventually he stopped seeing us." Veronica sighed. "I don't know where he is right now I haven't seen him since, and I don't really care but if that was the design for my family? Death can go fuck itself!" Veronica exclaimed, raising her voice.

She moved towards Alex, only a slight gap towards the two. "I'm sorry." Alex breathed out.

"No! I have thought lots about that somewhere,Alex! It exists somewhere.A place where all of our friends are up in the sky.A place where my dad still sees us.A place where he never started abusing my Mother in the first place." Alex turned towards Veronica, biting his lip.

"Not everyone gets a second chance, Alex we can't give up!" Veronica stated.

Alex had started to glare down at Veronica's lip, Veronica noticed this as she started to blush.

He grabbed onto the sides of Veronica's face, both of their hearts beating tremendously.All of a sudden, Alex put his lips onto hers, Veronica's eyes widened but she kissed back slowly closing her eyes , a warm and fuzzy feeling filling her heart.Veronica wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, as Alex slid his tounge into her mouth, intertwining with hers.

Alex pulled back, resting his head onto hers. "I like you." He confessed, stroking her hair. "I really like you,I have since freshman year, Veronica."

Veronica stared at him, "What?" She questioned, looking into his eyes.

"I still remember, it was maybe the first week of freshman year and you bumped into me, ever since I haven't got you off my mind." Alex replied, pulling away.

"Since freshman year? Why didn't you talk to me?" She asked.

"I was too nervous, you were you, absolutely fucking gorgeous and I was just me." Alex shrugged.

Veronica smiled, pulling him into another kiss, this time she pulled back. "I like you too." She confessed, smiling warmly.

"God you're so fucking perfect!" Alex gasped, kissing her forehead.

"Y'know once we defeat this thing and it's all over, we should run away together, just the two of us.I don't really care where we go, just as long as it's with you, and maybe clear." Veronica suggested.

"Do you really mean it?" Alex questioned.

"Damn right I do!" Veronica chuckled."Now believe it or not I didn't come here to plan my future, we have to go, come on!" Veronica claimed, standing up.Alex standing up, following close behind her.As they both walked in sync together out of the beach.

Short chapter 😍 but idc they finally kissed also I know it's kind of cringy tbat they're planning on running away together Idc but that whole bit was like Maggie and Jimmy couldn't miss that opportunity.
