"teja you can't just ditch me like that on my bday yaar." vidhi sighed frustratingly on the phone.

"vidhi i'm not ditching you babah, i have an early call time tomorrow morning." teja tried convincing vidhi.

"teju idc, i want you here at my bday party tomorrow evening. no more excuses. and if you don't come, you are never seeing my face again. bye!!"

"arey but-" before teja could say something, vidhi had already disconnected the call.

"ughhh".

"ofc vidhi, why will i miss your bday!!!" he said in his excited voice.

"perfect. be on time karannn!!!!" vidhi said happily from the other side of the phone.

just as the call ended, karan sighed deeply and sat on the bed in his vanity.

"it's been 6 months since bigg boss has ended. he was always grateful for that show as it gave him alot more love and affection from his fans than before. but also, a bit hurt and guilty for giving him teja!! 'TEJA' the name itself brings a smile on his face. after the conversation that they had that day, they both knew that this is not how it was suppose to go, but none tried to change it and frankly they had their reasons too. karan didn't make any chance to pacify her as he was quite guilty of what he did and teja didn't let him explain his side because her hurt was more bigger than her soft emotions towards him. the rest of days in that house went quite well with them caring for each other immensely along with behaving just like co-contestants.
the life outside that mad house made it more easier for them to ignore each other as both of them got engrossed in their work. teja was offered for naagin 6 and it did wonders where as karan was busy in hosting DDJ and his music videos simultaneously. and now, after freaking 6 months they are gonna meet at vidhi's party. "

the room was filled with loud music. some were dancing with their sweaty bodies while some were seen making out on the couches.
teja sat with the BB inmates which were sassa, nishant and umar. karan hadn't come yet. teja wanted to see him but also was nervous to face him after so long!!

"beera is here, finally". nishant squealed with joy and everybody's attention turned towards the entrance.

there he stood, with a white t-shirt, blue pants and a jacket.

"subtle but hot" teja thought to herself.

"WTF is wrong with you teja!!? control your damn impulses. you have to behave cordial with him, nothing more". she reminded herself.

karan wished vidhi and turned to find everyone else, and then his eyes went on her. she wore a yellow dress that reached till her knees with cuts on each side of the waist and hair opened, (just the way he liked).
he quickly went towards them and have them a hug. finally he moved towards her,

"hello winner". he said with an excited voice trying to hide his nervousness.

one word from him and teja had forgotten all the warnings and reminders which she had given ho herself to be cordial to her.

"oh hey karan". she said as if she hadn't noticed his presence.

she stood up from where she was sitting and gave him a side hug.

the warmth was what they both felt.

they parted as soon as realisation hit them. though it didn't get any awkward for them.

akasa and nishant knew karan's and teja's equation so they dragged umar away from them to give them some privacy.
karan sat on the stool infront of her. after a few moments of silence karan finally spoke.

"so how's the life going after big boss?"

"it's going amazing. i'm grateful for all the love i'm getting after it. also, i heard about you hosting DDJ and your all the upcoming music videos. congrats yaa". she exclaimed with genuine grin.

"thanks!! also i wanted to confess something. can i"? he said a bit seriously.

"karan, what happened was a past, you don't need to behave so formally with me. go ahead." she said smiling.

seeing her smile made him smile too. her smile was contagious. and besides that, the comfort she still gave him, made him more happy. her so open heart towards him made his heart glow.

"umm.. teja... i just wanted to say sorry.. for whatever i did in big boss. my intentions were clearly not to hurt you but i guess i unintentionally did hurt and that to very badly, but i do regret it." he said with the softest voice possibe.

teja kept her hand on his which he kept on table and gave it a squeeze.

"karan, as i said, that was past and pasts are meant to be miserable. if you were wrong on your part then so was i. i was harsh with my words too, and even im sorry for it. lets just forget it and live in the moment." she said with a smile.

karan smiled genuinely. he missed this. he missed her this lively teja.

"so what are we now!!?" he asked nervously.

"umm.. karan i know what you are expecting me to say, but i guess i'm not ready for it yet. so for now, we are friends. no wait, we are best friends."

karan's face fell. friends or best friends, this is not what they were while they fought. they were much more than that. if not a couple then not even just friends.
he masked his smile immediately so that she didn't notice it. but who was he kidding, she noticed definitely it.

"best friends do not behave like this. you didn't even contacted me after big boss." he whined.

"friendship sirf mein hi nibhau? even you didn't contact me." she too whined dramatically.

"fine. you win. but number to dede, tabh na karunga tujhe contact." he said smiling sheepishly.

"i will give you a missed call, you can save it then." she said chuckling. "anyways, i gotta go, i have an early call time tomorrow morning."

"even i'm leaving. i can drop you if you dont mind." he said but seemed more like a question. he didn't want to give her any wrong signal and make her uncomfortable.

"arey nai re, you'll have to come pura wrong side uske liye. i will call dada, he will come."

"arey it's okay babah, long drive ho jaayegi. chal i will drop you."

"karan are you sure, bohot lamba ho jaayega tere liye".

"arey chal meri maa" he said chuckling and she made a face.

they both bid their byes to vidhi and everyone else and went to his car.

the warnings, the reminders, everything were forgotten when they saw each other. neither of them wanted the night to end, but it had to. they were falling again, with more intensity, with more craziness and with more love, but none wanted to accept it. they were better as best friends. they thought. :)
