You brought Kazuma and Aqua to the Guild Hall. You got a table, made your food & drink order, and went to the office to turn in the quest where Luna is waiting.

Luna: Y/N! You're back!

Y/N: Hey Luna, sorry it took so long. There were.....complications.

Luna: What kind of complications?

You pull out a small journal out of your waist pack.

Y/N: Everything you need to know in this journal.

Luna: Alright, the quest is complete! And you've gone quite a few levels! Keep up the good work!

Y/N: Oh FYI you're in for a long read.

Luna gives you your reward money of 50,000 Eris. It's not much but supposed to be a easy job. You head back to table where Kazuma and Aqua are waiting for you and sit down.

Kazuma: So Y/N, what happened? It was only supposed to be a scout quest.

Aqua: Yeah, you had us super worried!

Y/N: *rubs back of head* Yeah, sorry again. So here's what happened.....

Flashback, Forest

So several weeks ago I took a quest to find a missing carriage that last seen going to the nearby forest. Well I just followed to trail for several hours and worried it was gonna get dark before found it. But just my luck I found it, it was flipped over and abandoned. The horses were gone and there were signs of a struggle. I started looking around and the more I found the questions it raised.

Kazuma: (Like what?)

Well for one thing nothing of value was taken. Seriously, I found bag money in there so that ruled out bandit ambush.

Aqua: (Did you pocket that money?)

I plead the 5th.

Aqua: (What?)

Anyways I was finishing my findings in my journal when heard a sound that sent shivers up my spine.

Kazuma: (What was it?)

.....The sound of flesh being torn, hearing that my curiosity got the better of me. However I fully cocked my rifle and prepared for a fight. I found one of the horses and something was eating it. I hid in the bushes and saw....Rats.

End Flashback

After hearing that you found a horse being eaten by rats your friends raised an eyebrow at that. As the short haired waitress brought your food and drink. You know this one, she starts putting your orders on the table.

Kazuma: Rats?

Aqua: Really?

Y/N: Not just any rats, these things had brown fur, red eyes, 4 feet tall, stood on their hind legs, wore ragged clothes, carrying very crudely made weapons, and they spoke in really funny way.

Hearing that the waitress eyes widened and her hands were shaking so much she spilled your drink on your pants.

Waitress: Oh! I'm so sorry sir! Let me get that for you!

Y/N: It's fine it was just a spill Miss.

She pull out a towel and start cleaning up the spill on your pants but she has tears in her eyes.

Y/N: Are you okay? Did I say something to set you off?

Waitress: I'm fine! Let me go get you another drink sir! It'll be on me!

She finishes wiping the spill and runs off.

Y/N: Okay, where was I?

Kazuma: You encountered walking, talking, rats.

Aqua: What happened next?

Y/N: Right!

Flashback, Forest

I watched from the bushes as saw them eating what was left of that horse. The smell almost made we want to puke. I started backing away when I stepped on a branch and broke it and the rats spotted me.

Ratman: Look! See Man-thing!

Ratman 2: Fresh Meat! 

Y/N: Ah nuts!

They both tried to ponce me I quickly aim and fired my weapon the bullet went through both of them. They went down with a blood curdling scream then reloaded. I fixed my bayonet and stabbed their bodies to make sure they were dead. But then I heard a bunch movement in woods. I quickly reloaded and started aiming in any direction I heard them. I realized I was being surrounded. So I made a tactical retreat and by that I ran for my life. I ran as my feet would allow me  I kept hearing them getting closer and closer.

Ratman: Man-Thing! Must Die-Die!

Ratman: For Clan Fester!

Finally I found a clearing in the forest with a hill and some rocks at the top. So I had high ground and an entrenched position. I ran up the hill as they were slinging rocks at me. I took cover they come out of the treeline dozens of them and I started firing at them.

I was dropping them like ducks in a row. But there were still coming up the hill, I was worried I was gonna get overrun. As I was reloading on them closed in on me. He was about 6 feet tall, black fur, wearing chain mail, steel plated armor carrying a large halberd.

Stormvermin: Useless minions! I do it myself!

He charged at me and I dodged as he thrust his blade at me and bash head with stock of my rifle. I went over the top of my and kick him back. The rat got angry and raised his weapon and came down with a slash and I catch it with my weapon. I hold him but I was losing ground and cut my shoulder. I'm still a little sore from that, he pushed me into the rock thought he had me dead to right. And he started gloating to his followers.

Stormvermin: FOR HORNED RAT!!

Clanrats: HAIL SKAVENBLIGHT!!

Stormvermin: DIE-DIE!! MAN-THING!!!

Their leader was about to finish me off when I move out of the way just in time. His weapon got lodged into the rock. With everything I had left I thrust my bayonet into his neck and pulled it out. He was bleeding profusely out his neck I got a lot on my clothes then he keel over and died. His followers, now leaderless the rats began to panic.

Clanrat: Leader! Dead!

Clanrat: RUN-RUN! QUICK-QUICK!!

The rats broke formation and scattered back into the trees and the hill was littered with rat corpses.

End Flashback 

The waitress brought you a replacement drink.

Waitress: Here you go sir. Sorry again.

You took the drink, took a sip, and put it on the table.

Y/N: It's alright it was an accident. Sorry if I upset you in anyway.

Waitress: It's okay! *bows* Enjoy your meal!

She walk away with a slight blush.

Kazuma: So you drove away an entire army of ratmen?

Y/N: I know it's hard to believe. 

Aqua: You got badly hurt, how did you make out of the forest?

Y/N: Well, that was around the time I met my mentors.

Kazuma & Aqua: Mentors?

Flashback, Forest

I went unconscious after the rats retreated I don't know how much time past and was semi-conscious and started hearing voices. Three male and two female.

???: Taal's breath, what happened here?

???: This manling here held off the raki by himself Dawri!

???: Impossible! The shots we heard indicating they were more than one Handgunner here.

???: Is he still alive darlings?

???: The mayfly is still breathing, but he's lost a bit of blood.

I started wake up in pain but my vision become clear.

???: Hey, he's coming around...You alright mate?

Markus Kruber, a former Imperial State Troop Sergeant turned mercenary. He lost his entire regiment when they got ambushed by undead. He's a heavy drinker as result of it. But if you need a reliable swordsman he's your guy....For the right price, he taught me how to handle a sword, and a spear better though.

Y/N: Y-Yeah, I'm good....Where'd you come from?

Markus: We follow the sound of your shots. Thought there was more than one of you.

Y/N: I came here alone to find a lost carriage....I found it.

???: And you found a bunch of raki as well umgi.

Bardin Goreksson, dwarf used be an Ironbreaker turned Ranger like me. Left the mountains to find a treasure hold. You do not want make him you're enemy. He taught me a lot of Ranger techniques and one is hell of craftsman. He likes to brag about his cousin Okri. He can make weapons like a pro. Also he can drink everyone here in Guild Hall under the table.

Y/N: What did you just call me?

Markus: Don't  take offense, It's just khazalid for human.

???: Can you stand young man?

Y/N: Yeah....

Victor Saltzpyre, Imperial Witch Hunter and Markus' employer if you can believe that. He hired him for security while transporting a prisoner for trial.

Kazuma: (Who's his prisoner?)

I'll get to that, anyway he carries a brace of pistols and a rapier. He lost vision in his right eye after an encounter with the ratmen. Spent years studying them so I learnt a lot from him. Learned a lot about the rats are called the Skaven. He taught me fencing and pistol marksmanship. He's also borderline zealot of Sigmar. Sooo Aqua you might want keep on the down-low that you're a Goddess around him. Spoiler alert, he's not a big fan of the Axis cult.

Aqua:(*scoffs* Sigmar, freaking show off!)

Aqua.

Aqua: (*mocking tone* Oh look at me, I used to be human! I killed a bunch of smelly orcs with a big dwarven made hammer!)

Aqua!

Aqua: (*mocking tone* I united several human tribes and founded an entire Empire!)

Aqua!!

Aqua: (*mocking tone* I ascended and became a god and I have more followers than then all the other gods! Because I'm SOOOOOO GREAT!!)

AQUA!! Can I finish?!

Aqua:(....Sorry Y/N.....)

Kazuma:(Someone's jealous.~)

Aqua: (Shut up Kazuma! *pouts*)

*sighs* Anyway, they helped me to my feet and they tended to my wound.

Victor: Witch! We are in need of you.

???: Yeah, yeah...

She approached me and grabbed hold my wound.

???: Hold still darling, this is going to hurt.

Y/N: What are going to-AAH!!!

Sienna Fuegonasus, where to start with her? She's a Bright Wizard very talented one. She's blessed with a sharp intellect and a wicked sense of humor. Sienna could generally pass for a well-adjusted individual. She gave me pointers on magic. But she's not only a pryomancer....She's also a pyromaniac as in she loves the adrenaline she gets when setting something ablaze with her powers. She used her fire to cauterize in my wound. And man did that hurt!

Kazuma: (Why would they have someone like that their party?)

  Well to answer your other question Kazuma....She's Victor's prisoner.

Kazuma: (What?!)

Yeah, Victor arrested her on suspicion of burning down a grain silo and killing a burgomeister's son. Him and Markus were transporting her to the town of Ubersreik for trial. On the way they met Bardin and my last mentor.

Y/N: *heavy breathing*........Oh my god!

Sienna: Sorry had to be done.

???: Here's some water.

Kerillian, a wood elf Waywatcher exiled from her homeland Athel Loren for reasons she doesn't want to talk about. She's quick, sharp, agile, and extremely deadly with a bow. She me taught a lot about marksmanship even though she's not a fan of "blackfire" weaponry. She's a bit arrogant, regards humans as "clueless children." She and Bardin met in a place called Stormdorf where they nearly killed each other but they ended up killing Skaven instead. And they met Markus, Victor, and Sienna on the way to Ubersreik.

Kazuma: (These people sound like they have nothing in common except these Skaven.)

Aqua: (In fact some of them have tried to kill each other. Are they even friends?)

Not really, fate just kinda brought them together they fought a guerrilla war against a Skaven occupation of Ubersreik and won. So anyway Kerillian handed me some water after Sienna "healed" me.

Y/N: *swallow water* Thanks for that.

Victor: What is your name?

Y/N: Y/N L/N.

Victor: Do you have a form of identification?

Y/N: Yeah, here. *shows Adventurer card*

Victor: An Adventurer...from Axel in the Kingdom of Belzerg.

Bardin: A Ranger as well

Kerillian: A novice Ranger.

Markus: This is quite an impressive gun you got here mate. Never seen this before, Bardin you recognize it?

Bardin: Haven't seen a thurnd like this before. Not dawi made Azumgi.

Markus: How does it work lad?

He handed me back my rifle and I explained how it work. I cocked the hammer halfway, opened the door near the hammer, inserted the cartridge into the barrel, and the full cocked it.

Victor: Impressive design, you need to neither load black powder down the barrel nor does it have a flint.

Kerillian: What's the difference?! It's just another inaccurate human blackfire weapon!

Then I saw something in the treeline but it showed itself and then it tried to pounce on Kerillian.

Y/N: LOOK OUT!!

I quickly aimed at Kerillian and she moved out the way. I pulled the trigger and the shot went into the attacker's head and blew his head clean off.

Kerillian: I could've killed it quicker!

Y/N: Well you didn't! And your welcome!

Markus: Bloody Gutter Runner!

Victor: We should not linger here. There could be more pact-sworn nearby.

Sienna: Then we should get moving darlings. I want to burn some ratties.~

Victor: This way.

Markus: Come on lad, you're with us.

Y/N: Really?

Kerillian: Wait, this sapling coming with us?!

Markus: You saw his card, lad's got potential.

Kerillian: He's a novice!

Victor: A novice with undiscovered talents elf.

Sienna: Why not? Could be fun.

Bardin: Aye, besides Wutelgi you've seen the impressive pile he made here.

Kerillian: Luck is nothing to be proud of!

Y/N: Hey! I got myself lost running from those things. I'll stick with guys for now. And I'll do my best to learn and help you out.

Kerllian:......*frustrated sigh* Fine! But don't slow us down. Lumberfoot.

Victor: It is settled, come young man. It would seem Sigmar has brought us to you.

Y/N:....Yeah, imagine that.

Bardin: *pats your back* Welcome aboard young umgi! We eat skofs and get into a lot skufs if you know what I mean!

Y/N: No....No I don't know what you mean.

Bardin: You will laddie....you will.

End Flashback Guild Hall

Y/N: So that's it, we made our way out of that forest. They took me back to their base and I got these new duds. Spent several weeks training, studying, getting to know them better, and going on lots of raids. I learned from them, they learned from me. Then I told them about you guys and had to come back here. I didn't want leave you guys behind. So we parted ways and wished each other well.

Kazuma:.....

Aqua:.......

Y/N: What?

Kazuma: You could've just stayed with a far more skilled and experienced party. Yet you came back...to a party of rank amateurs like us.

Y/N: We said we were gonna defeat the Devil King together. And we are friends aren't we?

Kazuma: Thanks Y/N.

Aqua: *rest head on your shoulder* Yeah, thanks for coming back.

Y/N: Oh hey check this out!

You pulled this weapon out a holster and put it on the table.

Y/N: .45 caliber double action revolver. It took a while to work out the details and make ammo for it. But Victor's got four of them. Well enough talkin'! Let's start drinkin'!

Aqua: Alright!

Y, K, A: *raise tankards* CHEERS!!!

So after your party had a few more drinks you called it a night. They told you that they wanted to go on kill quest tomorrow. You sling a drunk Aqua over your shoulder and Kazuma takes you to where they been staying at the stable.

Aqua: Oh come on! One more drink! I won't throw up this time! Pllllease!!

Y/N: Nice try Aqua.

Aqua: Party pooper.

Y/N: So this what you've been doing this whole time. Working at a construction yard, getting drunk, and crashing in a horse stable.

Kazuma: Where did you stay Y/N?

Y/N: I trained, went on raids against the Skaven, got drunk, and crashed in a rundown Keep.

Kazuma: A Keep, where?

Y/N: They swore me to secrecy on that.

Aqua: Hold on! I need to ch*hiccup*change into my PJs. Wait a moment.

You both waited for Aqua to change a few minutes pass then you heard a thud in the stable. You hesitated to go in at first. But when you go in and see Aqua in her PJs pass out on a sheet on top of pile of hay.

Y/N: Well at least she's decent.

Kazuma: If you only knew Y/N...

You take your hat off and you and Kazuma lay a few feet away from Aqua. Kazuma goes to sleep, you're about to as well. Then you feel a soft and warm embrace. And it's Aqua snuggling with you.

Y/N: *whisper* Aqua, what are you doing?

Aqua: Mmmm.~ Hug pillow.

Y/N: (Oh okay.)

Aqua: I missed you Y/N.

Aqua give you a kiss on your cheek and passes out snoring.

Y/N: *whisper* Aqua....Aqua.....(This gonna be my whole night. Isn't it?)
