His heart was pounding on his chest. What is this? What is happening? Shadow could hear the echo getting louder and louder, like something was getting closer.
He started to back away from where he could hear the noise, but it sounded like it would never go away, or he could never get away from it. Horrified, and shaking miserably, Shadow darted away as fast as he could to get away from the noise, but it felt like it was following him.

Running through a black void was something that he never thought of. This whole thing is something I never thought that would ever happen in my life, what is going on?

Suddenly, his foot got got on a root that appeared from the ground and tripped. Where did that come from? A searing pain shot through his head. Shadow screamed as
the pain got worse. Blood was dripping
everywhere on to the cold black ground. It started to flood around him, turning the black void into dark red.

The echoing stopped. His heart still pounding in his chest. A building suddenly shot up  from the ground, making Shadow jump back, startled.

As he quickly got up from the ground he stared at the building. More buildings started to appear and eventually creating a whole town. He heard a scream in the distance. He felt like sprinting all the way towards it, but he was hesitant about it. I can't risk getting killed, it might be a trap. As he glanced around nervously, a scream bursted out from the opposite direction.
The scream was turning into a cry of grief and dismay. It was coming form all directions which didn't make sense to him. He was starting to get overwhelmed.

The screams got louder and louder. He could hear it calling for help, but Shadow knew this was some sort of trap. The screaming suddenly cut off. He slowly took his hands away from his ears and shivered with wide eyes full of fear.

He started to hear something again. It was the echo. No, this needs to stop, how do I get out of this? This time Shadow didn't back away, he stood there so he could see what it was. Nothing appeared. It was just the echo that traveled through the town that was around him. The echoing got louder, and Shadow started to see something coming towards him very slowly. It was far away, but it wouldn't be long until it gets to him.

He didn't take his eyes off of it once and locked his gaze on it as it moved. The shape was clearer now. It was a dark figure - a human, with a cloak. Every time it got closer it would make the echo.

"Who are you?" Shadow suddenly burst out. It didn't answer. It just kept creeping towards him. I can't just stand here, I have to move. He started to run away fast away from the figure.

He didn't want to look back he just needed to run. Keeping his eyes locked in front of him, he had a sudden urge to turn his head around. He whipped his head around and saw just the figure following him. As soon as he turned his head back around, he felt uncomfortable again. Suddenly, he could hear fast footsteps coming towards him.

Shadow turned his head slowly, and saw the figure rapidly crawling towards him. Shadow screamed startled and fell back onto the ground. He could feel the creature rapidly climb on top of him.

He only saw cold black eyes, and a bloodied shirt before he could only see black again.
