The blood that had splattered on her face was now running down her cheeks and down her neck. The rain only seemed to get heavier as she stared at the deformed zombie in front of her. Her chest was heaving and the tears wouldn't stop leaving her eyes. Seungcheol turned her around, gripping her shoulders as he looked in her eyes.
"hey I'm okay...it's okay" he said gently. She stared back at him with sad eyes,
"...I can't do this anymore" she cried. He searched her eyes and only found pain.

He knew how she felt. He wanted to give up so many times. Wanted to let the cruel world take him away so he could finally be at peace. But he couldn't. Not when he still had people to protect. Not when he had her to protect.

"Yes you can, everything's going to be fine" he reassured, gently moving his hand down to her wrist and pulling him with her as he began to walk.

The group quickly made their way into the cabin, muttering complaints about the rain and how wet and cold they were.

"Damn are you guys okay? you look like drenched rats" Minghao laughed to himself at the sight of his friends. Mingyu peeled off his soaked jacket and threw it at Minghao who shouted curses back at him.

Jihoon placed his wet bag on the table and unzipped it, pulling out the radio they had found. He sighed in relief when he noticed that it had remained dry throughout the storm.
"Oh Jun, we found an old radio while we were gone, do you think it could be useful?" Vernon asked. Junhui made his way over to the table. He picked up the radio and examined it, playing around with the dials just as Mingyu did when he first found it.
"I might be able to use it to try and pick up on frequencies which i could use to come into contact with someone but it's very unlikely" he explained. He noticed the hope on everyone's faces and gave an awkward smile,
"i'll try my best but i'm not making any promises okay? so don't expect anything" he added.

Y/n walked past everyone and into her room. Even though there were only three rooms, she had one to herself. She protested at first, not caring if the others wanted to share it with her, but the males respected her enough to give her some privacy and her own space so eventually she obliged. Although, most nights Seungkwan and Chan would sneak in and try and convince her to share the bed with them, ultimately she would give in, not being able to say no to her best friends.

She sat with her back against the wall, her head resting against the headboard of the bed. Her eyes drifted from the ceiling to the two males walking through the door. Seungkwan crawled up next to her and Chan laid himself at the end of the bed, facing the pair sitting against the headboard.
"How was Seungcheol while you were gone?" Chan asked. Y/n hummed,
"he got over it, he always does" she shrugged.

Seungcheol quietly watched his sister and her friends talk from a distance. He leaned back in the chair he was sitting in and sighed. Jeonghan, who was sitting next to him, followed his gaze,
"what's wrong?" he asked. Seungcheol looked down at his hands that were resting on the table.
"I don't know if i'm doing this right, i feel like she hates me" he said.
"I don't think there's rules when it comes to the life we're living right now.." Jeonghan started,
"You just need to be there for her, you know she's stubborn, she's going to do what she wants to do regardless of what you tell her, so just be there for her. She lost someone close to her...we all did. Let her grieve in her own way, she'll come around eventually" Jeonghan finished. Seungcheol looked up and have his best friend a small but genuine smile.

"I'm sorry I haven't been there for you, i've been a shit friend" he admitted, guilt lacing his voice.
"Yeah you've been pretty shitty" Jeonghan laughed.
"but i understood that you needed space, it's been hard though and i've missed you" he said. Seungcheol smiled sadly,
"I'll be better from now on I promise, for you and for Joshua".
