Floral Offerings (OT13)

A/N: As a person who loves flowers I figured I should make a flower-type one shot. Technically what's happening is that, Chan gives flowers to his 12 boyfriends every day for 13 days, that have a similar meaning to "I love you".

Technically- 12 boys, 12 bouquets of flowers.

I've also made a tradition to put a quote after the first paragraph/sentence! The quotes will somewhat match the storyline. :3

(Very long oneshot by the way!!)

(OG side characters by the way. :o)

(Just realizing I haven't been putting "Hyung" or "Name-ah" So since I'm too lazy to put it in just bear with me, thanks. :D)

University AU (Also with some Mature/Bookworm Chan AU)

Genre: Angst with a happy ending because I'm not a meanie. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chan leans on the kitchen counter, his hand under his chin and staring off into space. He sips his cup of coffee while still staying in the same position, he sighs. 1 more day.
{|~|}
"Someday, you'll become a memory to someone else. Try your best to be a good one."
{|~|}
"Channie? You good?" Chan slightly flinches in shock and straightens his back to turn to Seungkwan. He and Seokmin were running around the large house, that the 13 boys shared, and he was supposed to watch over them, so they wouldn't do anything stupid, even though he is the youngest, and he hadn't noticed them go outside.
Chan looks Seungkwan up and down and gives him a questioning look, "What happened to you?" Chan swiftly dodged the question and Seungkwan looks at himself.
"Me and Seokmin were playing outside and we accidentally fell onto some mud and dirt." Seungkwan explains with a mischievous smile.
Chan sighs, already done with the day, he had another problem on his hands now. First of all, he'll have to make them go take a bath, wash their clothes, hang the clothes up and explain to the Hyungs on what happened.
"Just hurry up and go take a bath or a shower. I'll go take your clothes. Is Seokmin already inside?" Chan questioned Seungkwan before he could go upstairs. Seungkwan nods and hurries upstairs to clean himself up.
Chan pushes up his glasses and places his coffee down on the kitchen counter. He goes over to take the dirty clothes from the other two to go put them into the washing machine.
-
"We're home!" Chan hears Jeonghan call out, it echoes around the house which make Seungkwan and Seokmin run over to them with joy while Chan watches from his seat on the couch.
"Calm down now. Did you guys behave?" Seungcheol engages into the conversation by asking a question. Seungkwan and Seokmin exchange a look with each other and nod with a bright smile.
"I doubt that's true." Joshua says with a soft voice.
Chan laughs which makes the room go silent then he coughs to clear his throat to throw the awkward tension out of the room.
"What does everyone want for dinner?" Jeonghan says to start another conversation.
"How about we eat out?" Jun suggests. Murmurs of agreement follow the suggestion, while Chan walks out the room to bring the dirty clothes from outside to inside.
"Seungkwan," Chan throws his clean clothes at him, which he catches with ease along with a "Thanks!", Chan brushes it off, "Seokmin here." He repeats the same action to Dokyeom and he catches it while also saying "Thanks".
"Oh yeah, I realized that these two are wearing different clothes. What happened?" Minghao says from the kitchen.
"Seungkwan and Seokmin were playing outside and they fell on the mud and dirt. I cleaned them so it's all good." Chan says while he sits back on the couch to read his book about philosophy, because why not?
"Ah I see. Also, philosophy again? What's so interesting about it Channie?" Minghao asks while the others were either also curious or sitting down to watch TV or upstairs to change to go out for dinner.
"Mm... It's only interesting if you're interested in it." Chan said solemnly. The others looks at Chan with awe at such wise words.
Chan looks up from his book.
"What? Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Chan gives a questioning look to everyone while closing his book slowly.
"Channie has grown so much!" Jeonghan says with eyes that make Chan feel scared for his life. Jeonghan runs over to Chan to hug the shorter tightly.
"P-please let me go Jeonghan..." Chan says tired but with a trace of happiness. Jeonghan lets go and the others laugh at the sight.
-
"What would you like order young sir?" The charming waiter asks with such formality that Chan feels uncomfortable.
"I'll have the salad." The others look at Chan with confusion, because he usually orders more than something that healthy. The waiter also looks a little bit confused but puts down the order anyway.
"What would you like to drink with your salad?" The waiter asks with a small smile.
"Red wine." Chan says casually.
The waiter nods and goes to tell the chef their orders.
Chan grabs a book about flower meanings from his bag to pass the time while pushing up his glasses.
Conversations start quickly while they wait for their food.
~
Flowers are something that people either leave at one's graves, anniversaries, confessions, dates, weddings or anything similar to love. Because why would one send flowers to someone they hate?
Since this will be my only chance to research flower meanings I'll have to do this fast and with no suspicion.
Should I leave them at the same time each day or will that be suspicious?
Would it matter anyway?
I'll be gone before they'll realize it right?
Sigh... I should at least write a letter before I do any of this.
~
"Here is your salad and red wine, young sir." The waiter's words snaps Chan back into reality.
How long have I been thinking for? Everyone has already started eating.
"Thank you." Chan gives the waiter a polite smile and the waiter walks after bowing.
Chan starts eating the salad while reading his book, pushing his glasses up once in a while. Completely blocking all outside noises.
-
"Ahh! I'm so full, that was so good." Hansol stretches his arms then relaxes.
"I agree, we should come back some time." Jihoon says in agreement while also nodding.
"We should head home though, it's almost 11pm, and we need to get to class early in the morning." Wonwoo's voice interrupts the cheerful conversations.
By that statement, they all head back to their shared house, to get ready for class early in the morning.
|~|Day 1|~|
"Good morning Jeonghan. What would you like for breakfast?" Seungcheol speaks from the kitchen directed to the blonde boy at the living room.
"Mornin'. Where's Channie? He's usually awake by now and I didn't see him when I walked pass the maknae line's room." Jeonghan rubs his eye and looks around in confusion then to Seungcheol.
"I'm not sure, when I was coming down I heard the door closing so I assumed it to be Chan." Seungcheol says while sipping a bit of the coffee he had just made.
"Why so early?" Jeonghan sits at the kitchen counter while Seungcheol just shrugs as a response.
-
"Fern? You in?" Chan makes his way through all the leaves of the trees blocking the pathway to the cashier.
Chan hears a sigh before shuffling.
"Hm? Chan is that you?" The soft high-pitched voice calls out to the other.
Chan sees a certain browned hair boy with green highlights come out from behind the counter.
"Overworking yourself again?" Chan leans onto the counter while spinning his house keys around.
"Oh come on, you do the same thing." Fern says with a tired smile, he ruffles his hair to get it out of his vision.
Chan rolls his eyes and smiles. "You know what I'm hear for, right?" Cahn swiftly changes the topic to what he originally come for.
"Of course, I never forget an order." Fern states confidently, which doesn't happen often, Fern quickly makes his way to get Chan's order.
"Ah, here they are. If you don't mind me asking, what are these for?" Fern hands the bouquet of flowers to the other.
Chan takes the bouquet and puts in his carry bag, "Nothing much, just doing something special." Fern raises an eyebrow at that but decides not to push any more information out the other.
Chan eventually leaves with the hidden bouquet, wrapped neatly, in his bag, and continues to make his way to the University.
-
"Morning professor." Chan greets the professor as soon as he comes in the room.
"Good morning Chan. Here early as ever, and how many times must I tell you? It's Namjoon." Namjoon looks away from the book he was reading and goes up to greet Chan by the door.
"I know, I know." He chuckles a little, "It's just a bit weird, don't you think?" Namjoon thinks for a while before playfully shaking his head like a child.
"Oh, before you take a seat, can you go bring these to Jin?" Namjoon asks before Chan could go to his usual seat.
"Why didn't you do it before I came here?" Chan reluctantly takes the stuff anyway from Namjoon and puts on the other side of the carry bag.
"Haha, well about that. I might've pissed him off earlier, so he won't allow me in his classroom anymore, for the next few days at least." Namjoon laughs as he scratches his head with a very annoying smile that Chan wants to slap off of his face.
"You seriously need to stop pissing off Jin. It's unhealthy for your relationship." Chan gives him a playful pissed look and heads for the door.
"It's alright anyway, we end up making up..."
"DoN't finish that SENTENCE." Chan quickly turns around from the door and blushes like mad.
"Haha, chill Channie. We just cuddle in bed." Namjoon raises his eyebrows and Chan seems more pissed.
"You idiot. I'm heading off now." Chan leaves casually behind the mess that accidentally started and Namjoon waves in his direction, even though Chan can't see it.
-
"Professor Kim? Are you in?" Chan softly knocks on the door to Jin's classroom.
"Chan? Is that you? Come in!" The muffled sound of things scattering and Jin's voice was heard from behind the door.
Opening the door, Chan sees Jin at his desk, with a soft smile across his face and his expression slightly tired.
"Professor Kim has stuff for you." Chan awkwardly places the stuff on Jin's table and the other male sighs, annoyed, clearly.
"Namjoon has been sending me gifts left, right and center. Why can't he leave me alone?" Jin says with a tired voice.
"Um... I think this is actually school stuff." Chan nearly laughs at Jin's expression, but holds it in to not be rude.
"Oh... uh, I knew that. It's a force of reaction." Jin says, embarrassed, and hurriedly takes the stuff to his body. He quickly postures himself to look professional.
"I will be leaving now then. Bye Professor Kim!" Chan heads over to the door and hears Jin call out a goodbye to him before he leaves the room.
-
Chan's back hits the front of the locker hard. He grits his teeth but doesn't say anything. He's trapped anyway, one wrong move and he'd be beaten up as quickly as he got into this situation.
"So weak. You clearly don't do anything but read books nerd." The male slams his hand on the locker to attempt to frighten the younger more.
Chan flinches from the loud noise, and still doesn't say anything. He's afraid. Afraid of what they'll do if he says something wrong, does something wrong.
Through all the bullying he has even found himself into, he has to say that University will never be on top of what the bullies had done to him in high school. He doesn't want to relive those moments ever again.
Chan is just a bully magnet. He always seems to get himself into some sort of trouble with other people and be their victim of teasing or even physical beatings.
"Hey!" The male kicks Chan's leg, which makes Chan snap back into reality. He winces in pain but doesn't want to afford looking weak by tumbling over in pain. Just by one kick? Really. No way.
"Pay attention when we're talking to you. You don't want any of your "hYuNgS" to get be a victim of our beatings too, don't you?" The male mocks and laughs along with his gang with what he had said.
Chan looks up when he says "Hyungs". As much as he doesn't show it, he loves his hyungs, they are his favourite people in the world, and wouldn't allow any of them to get hurt because of him.
"Oh lookie here. Finally realizing where you are at the mention of your "precious" hyungs?" He laughs again while Chan stays quiet at his question.
Yes, it's true. He is sensitive when it comes to anyone mocking or teasing his hyungs, but he can't do anything. Because he is just a weak, useless, nerdy, irrelevant, waste of space of a human. What can he do about it except endure it all and hope for the best they won't be targeted by these people.
And that's what he'll do. If it's for the rest of his life, he won't care. Because it's all of the 12 people he loves the most.
-
Chan touches his face. Blood. Blood on his hands, fingers and face. Chan weakly sits himself up from his position on the floor, and leans his back on the locker he was once pushed on. He sits there for a while until breathing becomes natural and he doesn't need to force his lungs open. He stays there, rethinking the moments before this had happened.
His own blood stains are on the ground in front of him. In a slight way, mocking him in some way, and quickly thinks about how weak he is. They're right... I am weak.
Sitting in the same position Chan finds himself missing something from his shoulder.
"M-my bag..!" Chan quickly says and nervously looks around the room to find his beige coloured bag.
Finding it, in a matter of seconds, discarded on the floor, he was relieved to see the bouquet were, thankfully, not destroyed in the process of the beating. His books and other relevant stuff were okay too, it was just roughly thrown to the floor.
Reaching to push up his glasses, he realizes his glasses were also discarded somewhere in the room.
Those were my only pair of reading glasses. Chan says in his head, sulking a little bit.
About to head out of the room, he stops to see that he was about to step on something.
"My glasses! Thank god." Chan bends down to pick up the glasses up from the floor. Relieved to see that his glasses were in one peace. He places his reading glasses onto the bridge of his nose and pushes them up.
-
Having 13 people in one house means you have one large dinner table. So, Chan decided to place the bouquets of flowers on the diner table, and each one will be dedicated to one certain member.
-
As soon as Chan went through the door to enter the household, he was greeted to 4 people on the large couch, 3 people in the kitchen, 3 peoples outside (he could see them through the window) and 2 people in the studio (again, window).
He closes the door as quietly as he could and swiftly made his way through, to get to his room, then bathroom to patch up himself up.
Chan opens the door to the bathroom, with clothes in hand, and locks the door behind him.
"Now, where is the first aid kit?" Chan says to himself. He places his clothes on the toilet lid and searches around the large bathroom for the first aid kit.
Eventually, he found the first aid kit underneath the sink and he starts to undress to dress his wounds that were found everywhere around his body.
Starting with the legs.
There wasn't much. Just a few bruises and scratches here and there. His thighs were the most bruised, luckily they are easy to cover either with shorts that go to the knees or long pants.
Next were the stomach and chest.
Chan definitely experienced some pain while breathing right after the beating, but gradually gotten better as time went pass and his breathing became natural. His stomach had a few light bruises, which will recover after a few days or even hours.
His arms were next.
All Chan could remember from the beating was that he held his arms up to his face to not get hit in the face. A reflex defensive position, as one might say. So his arms were bruised with a dark purple and a few red marks. There were blood spots but it wasn't dripping down his arm, thankfully.
His face had seemed to have no to little damage, thanks to the help of his arms protecting him cover his face from their feet. Though, he was definitely punched once or twice in the face a few times. Blood had ran down his nose and a light bruise had formed. His jaw felt tight and he was dehydrated.
Were they trying to kill me?
Pushing that thought away for another time, he finished patching up his body and decides he'll patch his back when he has more time. He had finished just in time for dinner to come around, so he quickly changed into his new, fresh clothes, and put the first aid kit underneath the sink, where it had been found, then swiftly making his way downstairs to eat dinner.
-
In the middle of dinner, Chan had realized he had forgotten to buy a vase for all the bouquets of flowers to fit into.
Finishing dinner early, he leaves the house, not bothering to change, and makes his way to the nearest shop that sells vases and is still open.
Luckily, just in time, he happens to arrive just in time for closing. The nice man let Chan inside, since Chan looked very desperate to get the thing he wanted from his store.
The man was nice, he helped Chan pick what kind of vase is good for a bouquet of flowers and helped him check out. Chan, in return, helps the kind man close the shop and bids him goodbye.
He'll be going there often.
-
The first floor of the house was empty when Chan opened the front door. He switched the lights on and placed the newly bought vase onto the dinner table, and grabs his bag from his shared bedroom.
In a rush, he grabs the bouquet of flowers from the bag and heads back downstairs to gently place them into the vase near Minghao's chair on the dining table.
The flowers were a nice shade of purple and their petals were curved up. A tulip, anyone would know that it is a tulip, but it's name is Magic Lavender. It represents eternal love, royalty and elegance. Whenever Chan thinks of Minghao, he thinks of the way Minghao dances, and how free and elegant he looks. His balance is perfect and posture is straight. Chan always seem to find himself watching the Chinese boy dancing in the studio and look in awe of how graceful Minghao is with his steps.
He stands there for a while, admiring the vibrant flowers in the vase, before going into the kitchen to get a cup of water. All that running, got him dehydrated.
"Chan?" Chan stumbles and drops the cup of water in his hand by the sudden voice.
He hears footsteps rushing over to him while he is just staring at the small puddle and glass shards on the floor.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry Channie!" Chan stands up to face the person, it was Seungkwan looking at him with a worried expression and went over to check if Chan had gotten hurt anywhere.
"I'm fine Seungkwan." Chan gently pushes his hand away from the older and went over to the storage room to get a dustpan.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Seungkwan says anxiously as he puts a hand to his chest in worry.
"Ye-"
"What's going on? We heard a crash." Seungcheol's voice had interrupted Chan and 3 more people had entered the kitchen.
"I accidentally scared Chan into dropping his glass of water.." Seungkwan says while looking at the floor.
"Both of you aren't hurt, right?" Jeonghan entered the conversation before Seungcheol could say the same thing.
Seungkwan shakes his head while Chan goes over to the bin to scrape down the glass shards in it. After that was done, Chan went over to the storage room to place the things back where they belong.
Joshua sighs as he rubs his eyes out of tiredness.
"Sorry for waking you all up." Chan has a face of guilt and grabs another cup to get his water he needed, since he was still dehydrated.
"No, it's alright. As long as you weren't hurt, it's okay." Seungcheol assures the two that it wasn't their fault while Joshua and Jeonghan has left to go back to their room, "Get some sleep, okay?
Seungcheol smiles at the two.
Both Chan and Seungkwan nodded and they bid Seungcheol a goodnight.'
"What was it that you needed, Seungkwan?" Chan looks at Seungkwan after Seungcheol had left the room.
"Oh, nothing! You didn't come back for a while, so I stayed up to wait for you. The others would've too, but most of them had morning class." Seungkwan gives a tired smile to Chan.
"Oh. Thank you, Seungkwan, but you didn't have to." Chan smiles back and appreciates Seungkwan's thoughtfulness, "You should go to sleep Seungkwan, don't you have afternoon class?"
"Oh yeah I do! Thanks for reminding me Channie. Goodnight!" Seungkwan gives one more smile before running upstairs to his room.
Chan bids him goodnight before Seungkwan could step on the stairs and smiles.
Chan sighs, "Let's hope no one else scares me into dropping my water again."
|~|Day 2|~|
Chan closes the lid of the pen before placing it down beside the letter he had just wrote.
It was currently 12:34pm and most of the residents in the household were at the University. The only ones home were Jihoon, Jihoon's friends, Jeonghan, Seungcheol and Hansol.
Jihoon was in the studio working on a new song for a project, along with his friends. Chan likes Jihoon's friends because they are not loud and mature. It makes him feel so much more better, especially after a stressful day.
Jeonghan was currently outside doing the laundry, since it was his turn, and is humming to a song made by Jihoon.
Seungcheol was in his office working on some paperwork. Chan had just went into his office to give him a cup of coffee to freshen himself up, with a couple of snacks on the side.
And Hansol was playing games by himself on the Nintendo. Looked kinda sad and lonely from Chan's point of view, but Hansol was having a great time. There wasn't anybody distracting anybody from winning and he could easily make his way to the finish line first.
Chan quietly got ready to go out in his room. He made plans with some other friends to hang out and he is planning to get his next set of flowers.
So, having got himself all ready, his bag hanging off his shoulder and his hair all neatly done, he went downstairs to put his shoes on.
Fortunately, not getting stopped and get questioned one where he is going, Chan had successfully gotten out of the house with no interruptions.
-
"Ah, you're here!" Fern walks up to greet Chan from the counter.
"Hey," Chan casually greets him back, "Already got them sorted?" Chan, getting straight to the point, asked.
"Mhm! Let me go get them." Fern smiles and goes to the back to get the bouquet.
A few minutes later, Chan sees the smaller come out of the back room, holding the flowers carefully, and giving them to Chan, "Here they are!" Fern says, excited as ever.
"Thanks. How much?" Chan reaches his hand into his bag to get his wallet.
"34,000 won." Fern says, while going back to the back of the counter, to enter in the bouquet.
"Alright, here." Chan gives the money and leaves after saying goodbye to Fern.
-
"You're finally here!" Chan looks up from the ground to see his 3 friends rush over to him.
"Jung Yonghee! Don't tackle the poor boy."
The mentioned person had tackled Chan to the ground before their friend could say anything.
Chan laughs and Yonghee gets off of Chan, and eventually helps him up after laughing themself.
"No worries Soohoon. The bruises don't hurt as much anymore." Chan brushes off the dirt and dust off him and gives the three a small smile.
"Come on, even Hyojin gotten beaten up in a while. Why are they only coming after you?" Soohoon sighs and puts a hand to her forehead in frustration.
Yonghee pats Soohoon's back shoulder in comfort and the air around them had become tense.
"What about we go to that café that had newly opened up?" Chan suggests to try lighten up the mood of his friends.
"I agree." Hyojin soft, soothing voice pipes up to add in his opinion. Soohoon and Yonghee eventually agree and they go walk off to the café while talking along the way.
-
"Bye-bye Channie!!" Yonghee shouts excitedly, even though they are about 4 metres away from each other.
"Bye-bye Yonghee, Hyojin and Soohoon." Chan shouts softly back, chuckling a bit, before walking off, hearing their distant goodbyes.
-
"Mr. Kang! Let me help you with that." Chan runs up to the man to help him move a heavy box.
"Oh, thank you Chan." Mr. Kang greets him with a thank you with a gentle smile. Chan smiles back.
"Here for another vase, I see." Mr. Kang placed down the box and pointed to the bouquet pointing out of Chan's bag.
"You know it!" Chan smiles again.
Mr. Kang chuckles and goes into the shop, while Chan follows, he picks out a suitable vase for the bouquet and rings Chan up at the counter, with a discount since Chan had helped him with the heavy box.
"Thank you Mr. Kang! See you again soon." Chan bids goodbye to Mr. Kang, while Mr. Kang waves back at him with a genuine smile on his face.
Chan walks back home with a small smile on his face. For once, he had felt genuine happiness since for a while. Yes, his friends and boyfriends make him happy, but... there was always that one empty feeling inside of him.
What was it?
-
Chan, repeating the same actions from yesterday, opened the door quietly, place the vase on the dinner table and then the bouquet and admire it for a while.
The bouquet were full of bright, red roses. It's name is 'Super Hero Rose'. Symbolizing love, romance and perfection. When Chan see these flowers he will always be reminded of Seungcheol. Seungcheol is a passionate yet serene type of person. He will give equal amounts of love to everyone and will speak up when he needs to. Seungcheol never seems to fail Chan's expectations of him and it's all perfect. Chan can't help but feel envious of his own boyfriend, but he can brag about his perfect boyfriend~.
Chan smiles at the bouquet that are now standing upright in the vase. The purple tulips on the other side of the table makes the table look much more colourful, then just the red roses on it's own.
|~|Day 3|~|
It's day 3 and the others have noticed the new addition of red roses in a vase at the dining table.
"Who bought the flowers?" Jihoon asks, everyone else was already in the main room and Jihoon had just noticed the new addition.
"We don't know. It has no note, no nothing." Jeonghan explains to the shorter.
Jihoon nods, his expression clearly confused.
Chan was reading a book on his seat at the dining table, not bothered to engage into the conversation of who had brought those flowers.
"Channie," Chan looks up from his book to see who called his name, "You came back home quite late like yesterday, you must've seen who put these flowers here." Soonyoung inquires to Chan.
Chan's hands had gotten sweaty and carefully chose his next words, "When I came back home last night, I saw nobody. It was too dark to see if the flowers were there after or before I came back." Chan explains his events of last night, which were obviously fake, and pushed his glasses up.
"Strange..." Wonwoo says. Many agree. It was quite strange to them. While Chan was silently praying that they don't see through his cover, although he is a great liar.
"Oh, look at that. I need to go now, don't you all have class in less than an hour?" Chan stands up and puts his bag on his shoulder.
"Oh yeah! We do, thanks Channie." Hansol says.
"Mm, don't forget again. I probably won't be there the next time you forget." Chan says as he is walking through the door with his phone in hand.
Before they could bid their goodbyes to him, he had already left the house and set off to go to Fern.
Chan dials Fern's phone number while walking, and waits for the other to pick up.
"Hey Chan, coming to the store again?" Fern small, tired voice fills Chan's right ear, while Chan is fiddling with his house keys.
"You know it. Can you prepare me a bouquet of yellow and red flowers, of any kind, mixed into one?" Chan puts his house keys into his bag, to make sure he doesn't lose them, and continues down the road where Fern's flower shop is.
"Of course! I'll get it ready. It will take some time though, you can go to the new café across the road while you're waiting." Fern's cheerful voice vibrates into Chan's ear, and Chan smiles at Fern's thoughtfulness.
"Alright, thanks Fern. I'll be there in a few." Chan hears Fern hum, indicating that he knows, and the call ends.
-
"Welcome to the Sunshine Café! What would you like today?" Chan looks at the person in front of him and observes him for a second.
Dirty blonde hair, wears round glasses and is as tall as Chan.
Where have I seen this person before? Chan thinks for a while.
"Um, sir?" The other's voice interrupts Chan's thinking and is waving a hand in front of Chan's vision.
"Oh! Sorry about that. I just thought I have seen you somewhere." Chan looks away embarrassed and the blonde laughs softly, saying it's okay, "I'll have an americano with less sugar."
"Alrighty! That'll be 6,900 won!" Chan gives the blonde the money and goes out of the line for the other people to order.
"Americano for Chan?" Chan walks up to the stand, grabs a straw and his americano. He walks to an empty window seat and stabs the lid of the cup with the straw. Chan starts to sip the drink.
Half-way into his drink, he gets a call from Fern.
"Hey Chan! The flowers are done, come by anytime to pick them up." Chan smiles and sips his drink again.
"Thanks Fern, I'll come by in a few minutes or do you wanna give them to me right now? I'm in the café across the street of your shop." Chan can technically see Fern light up at that request.
"You're buying my drink for me?" Fern asks, hope in his voice.
"Yeah, hurry over before I change my mind." Chan chuckles a little at Fern's behavior as he sees from the across the street, Fern hurrying to get his things and get to the café as soon as possible.
-
"Ah! So good." Fern expression melts into a relaxed mood, "Oh, here are the flowers by the way." Fern reaches into his bag to pull out a medium-sized bouquet of a mix of red and yellow.
Chan takes the bouquet and puts them in his own bag, "Thanks, here's the money." Chan hands Fern the money for the flowers, and Fern takes a quarter of it.
"Keep the rest, it's a thanks for the drink and inviting me." Fern gives Chan his signature smile and was about to leave the café before he was stopped by the blonde from before.
"Fern? Is that you?"
"Quix? You work here?!" Fern suddenly shouts, catching the attention of some of the other customers.
"Shh! Let's talk outside, same with you Chan." The blonde, who was apparently this Quix person, catches Chan with surprise and Quix drags them to the side of the store.
-
"What!? You're the owner!?" Both Chan and Fern say in unison.
Quix scratches his dirty, blonde hair and chuckles softly.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? And right across from my shop?!" Fern looks like he was about to pass out any second and Quix explained to the other why.
Chan was awkwardly standing there, drinking his americano.
This is Quix Frun. THE Quix Frun. One of the most famous models in the world! And now he had opened his own shop, it was definitely going to surpass Fern's sales by like a million because of how popular he is.
Chan fiddles with his hands.
Chan isn't the biggest fan of Quix, but he has definitely seen some of his works, and it makes him uncomfortable being by someone so famous, and Chan was only a University student studying Performing Arts!
Apparently, Fern and Quix were friends back in high school, but separated after one went to go to do floral management and the other some other University, Chan wasn't really listening.
"Um, while you both catch up on what you missed on about each other, I'm going to leave." Chan interrupts the two's conversation, and they both bid their goodbyes after Quix got Chan's number.
(Disclaimer:  No, Quix is not hitting on Chan, Quix has a girlfriend, will make more sense when the book is out.)
-
"It's late already?" Chan checks his phone to see the time, and it reads 12:45, Seungcheol would have already put everyone to sleep, so Chan was safe.
Chan had been sitting on a park bench for the past few hours, after he had bought another vase from Mr. Kang and had gotten food to eat.
Chan sighs, hopping off the bench, he had just sat on a few seconds ago, and headed back home.
-
Chan gently places the vase on the dining table, then seconds later, placing the bouquet of flowers in them. He stands back from the table and admires them for the last time.
The bouquet were a mix of red and yellow. Golden Parade tulips and Red Pride Tulips. The two contrast each other differently but beautifully. Chan, whenever he sees yellow tulips or such, he will think of the sunshine of the 13 of them; Dokyeom. His smile and personality is full of happiness and has a pure heart of sunshine. Sometimes, Dokyeom's smile shines so bright, Chan has to cover his eyes. The golden parade tulips are open and cup-shaped, while the red pride tulips are tall with pride, the petals tucked together closely. The yellow tulips represent happiness, cheerfulness, good luck, prosperity and hope, with the line: "There's sunshine in your smile." They are often used for friendships, which is why the red tulips are mixed into the yellow tulips, to symbolize love instead of friendship.
Chan leaves the room after admiring the flowers one last time, the bouquet sitting there beautifully, even though the lights are off, in front of Dokyeom's seat.
|~|Day 4|~|
Day 4 starts the same as yesterday. The yellow and red tulips were too hard to miss whenever you look at the dining table or just go past the room.
People asking question like: "Where did it come from?" Chan hears Hansol ask as he walks by, along with the question: "I wonder who is giving us these flowers." Recognizing that it's Jun's voice that spoke up.
Chan, not bothering to say anything like yesterday, sat there eating his breakfast. This time, not needed to lie about last night, he sat there eating his breakfast, and, when finished, he left the house for University.
-
To make things safer, Chan decided he will pick up the flowers after class, in risk of getting them damaged when he walks into his bullies.
In which, he was glad he made that decision.
-
Hitting his back on the front of the locker hard, it was just a repeat of what they did 3 days ago, but so much more worse.
Chan had taken a hit in the face and the stomach. Then many kicks on his legs, arms and stomach.
They had rummaged through his bag, wrecking everything that was in it; his books, pencils, pens, the bag itself, and the photo he keeps around him everywhere.
In shock, Chan just lies there on the floor, unable to move, much less do anything to stop them.
After an hour, through that pain, Chan sits up, with his back against the cold wall of the storage room. Trying to catch his breath. Dehydrated and in pain.
Chan shakily reaches over to the photo, which was now ripped into two, and held it up to view the ruined image.
Tears of pain had fallen, and are now running down his cheek. Still shaking, Chan hurries to wipe the tears as much as he could. The tears never seemed to stop.
Sobs of pain erupt the room.
-
"Chan!" Chan flinches slightly at the sudden voice, "Oh my god! Are you okay?" Recognizing that its just Fern, he relaxes with ease.
Fern is holding the bouquet of flowers he had ordered this morning, and is giving Chan a worried and concerned look.
"I think I'm okay." Chan says with a soft, yet raspy, tired voice. He cringes at the sound of his own voice and turns to look at Fern.
"I got you the flowers. Make sure you put some ointment on those bruises, and clean your cuts when you get home. I would've patched them up for you, but I didn't expect you to get beaten up, so I didn't bring them." Chan lets Fern talk a little more, smiling a bit at his short, distressed friend that is a little too worried about his wellbeing.
"Fern, Fern, it's okay. I won't forget. You go back home quickly, it's getting quite late." Chan ruffles Fern's hair and gratefully takes the flowers from his hands.
"You better not forget! Okay? You also quickly get home. Bye Chan!" Fern runs off, waving his hand, to indicate he is bidding the other goodbye, and Chan returns the wave back, with a small smile on his face.
- (By the way~ Chan ordered the flowers online, so he paid online, which is why he didn't give any money to Fern when Fern gave him the flowers. :D)
After getting the vase from Mr. Kang, and also explaining to the older man that he got beaten up, he opens the door to the large house, and carefully bends down to take off his shoes.
Chan sighs in relief that no one is downstairs, well, why would they be? It's 12:19, and Seungcheol would be telling them to go to sleep at 11 max.
Chan gently places the vase on the dining table, and then the flowers. As usual, he stands there to admire them with a genuine smile.
The flowers were tall, individual, but there were many. The flowers were a mix shade of pink and yellow, the tips of the petals were yellow while the base of it were pink. These flowers are called Orchids, or more specifically, Phalaenopsis orchids. Orchids represent love, luxury, power and beauty. Chan best thinks that the orchid best fits Jeonghan. Jeonghan is pretty. No, scratch that, beautiful. He gives a player vibe and his long locks have a sassy, yet mature vibe that matches his personality well.
Chan was admiring the bouquet before a great pain had erupted in his shoulder. Shocked, at the sudden pain, Chan had let out a noise, but quickly put a hand over his mouth to stop any more noise coming from his mouth. He grips his shoulder in pain and lets out a whine.
Running up the stairs, Chan trips over his feet many times, and nearly makes another injury as he falls onto the bathroom floor.
Crawling to the bathroom cupboard, he opens it and grabs the first aid kit from the back. Eventually, opening it up and patching himself up.
Chan ends up not having a very comfortable sleep that night.
|~|Day 5|~|
"Gosh! Chan, how badly did they beat you up?!" Soohoon runs frantically, like a worried mother, over to Chan, and checking around his body to see if he is safe.
"Don't worry about me, what happened to Hyojin?" Chan looks over to the other male and gives a concerned look.
Chan hears Soohoon sigh, "Hyojin got beaten up today. Quite badly too. We tried to get him to the Nurses' office, but he refused, so we patched him up ourselves." Soohoon explains.
They all stand in silence for a few moments. Letting the light wind blow their hair from side to side.
"I heard about this new café that had opened yesterday, shall we go there for our hangout?" Hyojin speaks up. The 3  light up at the idea, and Chan starts to boast about how good the drinks are there.
-
"Yonghee! Don't forget to bring the assignment tomorrow!" Chan yells out when Yonghee starts skipping away.
"I got it, I got it! Goodnight Channie!" Yonghee yells back to Chan. Chan smiles and walks over to Fern's shop.
"Fern! Are you in?" Chan makes his way inside deeper into Fern's shop, looking everywhere for Fern. "Fern?"
Chan gets to the counter, where the light was still on, and looks around for the brunette with green highlights everywhere.
Chan takes out his phone, types in his password, and goes to Fern's contact. The ringing sound in his ear stays there for a while, before a voicemail goes off.
Deciding to, might as well, take the flowers and place the money on the counter, Chan goes to the back room to pick up the flowers.
After picking up the flowers and leaving the money on the counter, Chan leaves Fern's shop and turns the lights off. Then walks home with the bouquet of flowers and a small smile on his face.
Obviously, we cannot forget about Mr. Kang.
"Young one, you're back, I see." Mr. Kang gives Chan an eye smile and holds out a bag for Chan to take.
"Hello Mr. Kang! Glad to see you're still so healthy as ever. Need any help with the shop today?" Chan greets Mr. Kang and gives him a big smile as he takes the bag from Mr. Kang, and giving him the money for the vase.
"No, no I'm fine. I had just closed the shop and was waiting for you to come by." Mr. Kang steps off the steps he was just on and stood in front of Chan.
"Oh, thank you Mr. Kang! How will you be going back home?" The two of them start to walk side by side with one another.
"Oh, don't worry about me young one. I'll be taking a taxi back home." They stop where a taxi had parked, "Oh, and would you mind if come over some time tomorrow or the day after? I had told my wife, kids and grandkids about you, and they seem to like you after how I described you."
Chan looks shocked and smiles softly, "I don't mind. What time shall I come by?" Mr. Kang lights up at that and tells Chan the time where he can come by, then leaves by getting into the taxi and driving off.
Chan smiles, a great big one, and walks home happier than ever.
-
Chan opens the door to the house and sees the house empty as ever. Sighing in relief, he walks himself over to the dining table, and then carefully sets the vase on the table then the bouquet of flowers.
Red Carnations. Deep red carnations. They have curved petals, and look like scrunched up paper, neat scrunched up paper. Deep red carnation symbolize strong and passionate feelings of love, very similar to red roses. Chan thinks that Hansol best fits this description. He is strong and becomes very passionate with his love for others.
Somewhat satisfied with himself, he goes upstairs to change and rest for the day.
|~|Day6|~|
"Morning Channie! Jae, YoungHyun, Sungjin, Dowoon and Wonpil will be coming over. They wanted to see the mysterious flowers." Jeonghan walks up to Chan and sits next to him.
What a coincidence. Chan says in his head.
"Okay, did you want me to bring Dowoon on a walk while you "adults" talk?" Chan flips a page and keeps on sipping his coffee.
Jeonghan laughs and nods while Chan roll his eyes.
-
"Have fun kiddos!" Jeonghan shouts out to the two leaving the house.
They both wave back and leave, walking down the steps as enjoy each other's presence without either of them saying anything.
Now, you might be wondering how the two of them got close. Let me tell you, simplified version.
Chan was walking around the streets of Korea, it was silent and almost empty, he had just had a fight with his hyungs and none of them were taking his side of the argument. He was sobbing, but now he was only crying lightly, single teardrops running down his face as he walks the streets of Korea with shorts, t-shirt, a thin coat and sandals in the pouring rain. Chan had no umbrella and was bound to get a cold or a fever if he stays out for a few more hours.
Dowoon was walking around the streets of Korea, also having a fight with his hyungs, but it was only a light one, he gets it, he shouldn't be so clingy when they have more important things to do. Dowoon just walks around guiltily, not sure on where to go. He had no proper clothing for the rain, and his hair was soaking wet from the pouring rain.
The two maknaes eventually find themselves bumping into each other at a bridge. They awkwardly greet each other and sit down next to each other, Chan sharing his thin coat with the other. They talk to each other about their problems and comfort each other.
Eventually, they bid goodbye and go back to their homes in a better mood than before.
-
"I need to go pick up some things, are you willing to follow?" Chan points at a certain flower shop and asks the other.
"Yeah sure. I'll wait for you at the café right across." Dowoon smiles and they part ways to their destination.
"Fern! Are you in today?" Chan walks through the corridor to get to the counter, as per usual, and finds the brunette with green highlights not in like yesterday.
Chan sighs, noticing that the money had been collected, he assumes that Fern is still here somewhere.
"Fern?" Chan walks to the back room, only to hear mumbling and soft shuffling.
"Fern? Are you asleep in the back room again?" Chan opens the door, and to his *no* surprise, Fern was there sleeping on the floor, his hair looking like a mess, and large eye bags linger under his eyes.
"Huh..." Fern's eyes open slowly and he yawns cutely, "Oh, Chan. Sorry I couldn't give you the flowers yesterday, I was busy. I did see your money." Fern sits up and gives him a smile.
"That's alright Fern. Seems like it was pretty important if you're sleeping while your store is still open." Chan says, putting a hand to his hip.
"Oh yeah, important stuff... Anyway! You need those flowers right?" Fern quickly stands up and goes deeper into the back room to find the flowers Chan had ordered this morning.
"Here you go!" Fern hands Chan the bouquet of flowers and Chan accepts it gratefully.
"Thanks, here's the money." Chan drops the money into Fern's hands, then leaves the shop while waving goodbye.
"Bye!!" Fern says excitedly.
-
"Ah, Chan. Here's your drink." Dowoon slides the drink over to Chan as Chan sits down.
"Thanks Dowoon." Chan picks up the drink and starts drinking it.
"Where shall we go next? You're not going back home until late right?" Dowoon looks over at Chan and gives him a smirk.
"Yeah, why?" Chan gives the other a questioning look.
"Wanna go spending all our Hyung's money?" Dowoon flashes a credit card out from under the table.
Chan gasps then smirks mischievously, "Hell yeah!" Dowoon smiles again at the other's response.
"Let's go have some fun then!"
-
"Ah Chan. It's nice to meet you."
"Who are you?" Chan asks as he looks at the other suspciously.
"I'm Fern's assistant. My name is Shin DongAe, please call me Mrs. Shin." She gives the younger a sweet smile, "Fern is currently busy selling flowers at the nearby festival, so he left me in charge for the day." She informs.
"Ah I see, how do you know me though?" Chan goes up to the counter closer to have a proper conversation.
Mrs. Shin chuckles, "Fern has told me a lot about you. I'm technically his mother figure to him." She smiles once again and Chan laughs.
"That's cute. Anyway Mrs. Shin, I've come for my flowers I had ordered this morning." Chan smiles and leans on the counter.
"Ah yes," She chuckles, "They are in the back, let me go get them real quick." Mrs. Shin gives one last smile before walking to the back room.
While that is happening Chan's phone seems to beeping rapidly.
"What the..." Chan takes out his phone from his pocket and opens it with his fingerprint.
'Chan, where are you?'
'Channie, come back home please.'
'Channie, it's important. Come back home quick.'
'Home quick.'
'Where are you dude?'
'There is a crisis happening over here! Come quick!'
"Huh..." Chan was in the middle of typing before Mrs. Shin voice had interrupted his thoughts, and he quickly puts his phone down.
"Here you go Chan! That'll be 34,000 won." Mrs. Shin places the bouquet of flowers into Chan's hands and adds it into the cash register.
"Here you go Mrs. Shin. See you tomorrow, if Fern is still doing his promoting at the festival!" Chan rushes to get out of the shop, but also being polite and waving goodbye to Mrs. Shin.
"Have fun Chan!" He hears the older woman shout out to him.
What in the world is going back home? What time is it..? 9:34? It's too early to be getting the vase now. Need to find this bouquet- wait... I can just leave this with Mr. Kang. Yes! Good idea!
-
"I'm home. What is it that's so urgent?" Chan's eyes were glued to the floor as he was taking his shoes off and keeping the door open for support.
"Channie! Thank god you're safe." Jeonghan runs up to the younger and grabs his shoulders, and checks around his body.
"Woah, what's happening Hyung?" Chan closes the door behind him and walks further into the house, to see all the house members in the living room area, "What's going on?"
"Ah Chan. There you are." Seungcheol's voice seems serious, it brings shivers down Chan's spine as he cautiously sat down between Wonwoo and Jihoon. Who were both quiet and said nothing to him.
"Chan," Seungcheol's voice pauses as he is anxious about what he is going to say next, "Can you explain what this is?"
Chan averts his eyes from the others to the thing Seungcheol is holding in his hand. Chan, who is not surprised or worried, says, "My essay? Or it could be that one paper that Fern had gave me. I can't see from here, sorry." Chan gives a little smile, shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders.
Chan could see and hear everyone sigh in relief and the atmosphere had lightened.
"If that was it, I'll go back to what I was doing before." Chan was about to stand up, but was pulled back down by Wonwoo and Jihoon, who were beside him. Confused, he tries to pull out of their grasp.
"Sorry Chan, you haven't been coming home early recently, and they are a bit clingy." Seungkwan explains. Chan sighs and laughs quietly, it was soft and gentle.
"I need to go pick up something and won't come back home until late, don't wait for me, you'll fall asleep before I'll come home." Chan eventually gets let free and ends up speed walking to the door. Not being able to stand the sweet and bubbly aroma.
-
"Mr. Kang! I'm here to pick up the vase and my flowers." Chan calls out as he opens the door to the shop.
"Ah, youngster, you're here. I have found the perfect vase for your flowers. Here you are!" Mr. Kang stands in front of Chan and hands him the vase with the flowers already inside them.
"Oh, thank you Mr. Kang! These look beautiful. How much is it?" Chan gently takes the vase with the flowers in them and carefully places them on the ground to get his wallet.
"It'll be just 10,000 won, a discount for you because you are my only loyal customer." Mr. Kang gives him an eye smile.
"Here you are Mr. Kang, have a nice day!" After giving the money to Mr. Kang, Chan walks out of the store after waving goodbye.
-
Chan quietly opens the house doors and quickly gets in. As per usual, there is no one there, which gives Chan to slip in and place the vase down while admiring it while no one is watching.
Chan places the vase then the flowers and steps back to admire it as he always does.
The bouquet contained Yellow Acacias, Laburnum, a beautiful batch of tall, droopy, but bright flowers. On the usual, yellow flowers in general mean friendship, though these flowers can also mean a secret love. Wonwoo, the quiet and often forgotten boyfriend, when the 13 of them got together, some of them thought Wonwoo never loved them, but Chan knows Wonwoo loves them very much. There just isn't much to show when you can't be as affectionate as Jeonghan or Seokmin. Wonwoo is beautiful, tall and bright. His smile never fails to make Chan feel warm.
That's another one done. Chan smiles to himself, and heads up the stairs to get ready for class the next day.
|~|Day 7|~|
"Ah, Chan. Early as ever, can you give this to the principal? I need to plan today's schedule because I didn't have time to yesterday." Namjoon gestures his hand out, with papers and folders, to Chan.
Chan sighs, "Fine." Chan places his stuff at his usual desk then takes the folders and papers.
"Thank you Chan."
"You're welcome Professor." Chan waves at Namjoon with his free hand then walks out of the classroom, headed to the Principal's office.
-
"Principal? Sir?" Chan knocks on the door twice and waits outside of the door.
"Come in." A low, raspy voice comes from the other side, nearly muffled, and Chan opens the door.
"Principal. Professor Park has sent me to give you these." Chan holds the door open with his foot, as his hands are occupied, and steps in carefully, avoiding the many stacks of... stuff? Scattered across the room.
"Thank you Chan. Please place them over there." The Principal points over to a desk in the corner covered in many stacks of paper.
Chan places the folders and papers down neatly and bids goodbye to the Principal, sending him wishes of a good day as well.
-
"Please send me your assignments, which are due in two days, to me now or tomorrow. Your results for that assignment will be given to you next week. Aside from that, have a great day everyone." Namjoon dismisses the class and sits at his desk at the front.
"Channie! What did you do for your assignment?" Seungkwan moves closer to the boy, hugging him tightly, already missing him even though they are only 2 rows of seats away.
"You already forgot?" Chan asks, trying to get away from the other, the other nods with a bright smile and Chan chuckles, "I used one of Jihoon's songs and made a choreography for it."
"Oh~" Seungkwan leans back a little, "Which one?"
"You'll see when they get presented." Chan answers simply, packing his things up before leaving the room.
"Aww~ Channie, don't be like that!" Chan hears Seungkwan whine before he leaves the room, he gets a small laugh out of that.
-
"Chan?"
Chan looks back to see a familiar face and stumbles back in fear.
"Hah! It is you! Guys, come look. It's Lee Chan!" The female shouts out to her friends and they come rushing over.
"DongMi..." Chan whispers, his anxiety going up higher the more he looks at what is happening in front of him.
"Yes, that's my name." DongMi steps closer to the shorter, "Chan, it's been a while since we last hang out. How about we hang out this afternoon at 2?"
"U-um..." Chan steps back a little, and puts a fake smile, "S-sure."
DongMi, with a smirk on her face, leaves the other alone along with her friends.
Chan releases a breath he didn't he was holding and continued to walk to the destination he was heading.
-
One of the few times the whole group can hang out, because of all their different schedules, but today was different. Most of the boy's classes were canceled which gave them time, have time with each other instead of them being there for a few more minutes until a group of people had to go to class.
"Ah, Chan. You're here." Minghao waves a hand at the younger and lends the other a seat.
"Thanks Hyung. What are we talking about?" Chan sits down and places his bag down.
"I don't really know, I wasn't listening." Minghao shrugs and leans back in his seat.
Chan chuckles, "It doesn't look like anything serious, so I guess it doesn't matter." Minghao smiles and closes his eyes.
-
"Chan!" Every conversation stops and they all look at the person who called the youngest's name.
Meanwhile, Chan freezes at the voice and looks at his watch; Crap, it's 3:12... I'm so dead. Chan puts on a smile and stands up.
"Chan~! We were supposed to meet up an hour ago!" DongMi whines, trying to sound like a close friend, which succeeded, unfortunately.
"Sorry DongMi! I forgot because I was hanging out with my..." Chan looks back and panics slightly, "Other friends." Chan puts on a bright smile and DongMi walks closer to the younger.
"You better be sorry Channie." DongMi slaps Chan on the shoulder, which seemed to look playful, and Chan winces in pain as it was more painful than it looked.
"Chan. Who is this?" Hansol stands up from his seat, which wasn't far from where the two were standing, and walks over to them.
"Huh? Oh- This is DongMi a friend of mine." Chan says bitterly, but no one picks up on it, "Anyway, I'll be going with DongMi now."
They all say their goodbye to their youngest and they all watch him go off into the distance. Completely unaware of what will happen as soon they are out of site.
-
"They aren't your friends, aren't they?!" DongMi slams Chan against the brick wall. She scoffs as Chan says nothing.
"Answer me you gay freak!" She slaps Chan across the face. That will leave a mark...
"They are my boyfriends..." Chan says quietly, afraid of what will happen next.
DongMi grabs Chan by the collar and brings him up from the floor. She spits at the floor then slams Chan's frail body against the brick wall once again.
Chan coughs violently each time he makes contact with the wall. His head sometimes hitting it as well.
"Take this as a warning." DongMi pushes the younger into the hard wall one more time, it was a critical hit, then steps back.
"DongMi... I'm sorry." Chan coughs out.
"What?" DongMi steps closer then crouches down to Chan's view, "You're sorry?"
Chan nods slowly.
DongMi scoffs then grabs Chan's hair, gripping it tightly. "You think sorry can change what you did?!" DongMi screams out while Chan desperately tries to get out of her grip.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."
DongMi brushes her clothes and grabs her bag from the floor. Leaving the younger on his own, close to passing out.
-
"-an! Chan! Wake up!" Chan wakes up to voice of a familiar person, their tone was concern and worry.
"Yonghee..?" Chan coughs out.
"Yeah! Yeah, it's me. Are you alright?" Yonghee tries to sit Chan up and carefully puts a water bottle to his lips.
"Thanks," Chan sits up fully and looks around his surroundings, "H-how did you get here?" Chan stutters.
"I tracked your phone. Don't worry, I haven't told the others yet." Yonghee gives a reassuring smile and held Chan's hand gently.
"Thank you Yonghee. Can you grab my bag? I have medical supplies in there." Chan weakly points to where his bag was discarded and Yonghee goes over to it quickly.
"You're lucky I'm a medical student, otherwise we would have to go to the hospital." Yonghee chuckles softly, Chan laughs along with her and waits patiently for Yonghee to finish patching him up.
-
"All done!" Yonghee claps and puts all the medical supplies back into the bag.
"Thank you Yonghee." Chan stretches his arms, back and legs then puts up a thumbs up.
"Now, tell me what happened." Yonghee puts a hand on Chan's shoulder and stops him from walking any further.
Chan sighs. Taking a deep breath before explaining to Yonghee what happened before they got there.
-
"Do you want me to pick up your vase and flowers for you while you wait here?" Yonghee offers to Chan, giving him a small smile.
"That'd be great, let me get some money for you." Chan reaches out into his bag to get his wallet, but when he looked up to Yonghee to give him the money, she was gone.
Chan looks around confused then sits down on a bench to wait for Yonghee.
-
Chan opens the door to the house quietly, like every other day, he sets the vase then the flowers onto the dining table, and looks at it for a moment.
The flowers were small vibrant sunflowers. The yellow petals of the flower stand out beautifully, but the centre really is the center of attention. Sunflowers symbolize loyalty, devotion and longevity. The sunflowers remind Chan of Soonyoung. Why? Soonyoung is a loyal person, cheerful and extremely well at noticing his mistakes. The sunflowers are as bright as his personality and smile.
Chan sighs as another day as passed, and he feels like time is running out soon. Was it because he has less than 5 days left?
|~|Day 8|~|
Chan decides to stay home this day. Having nothing to do for the 8th day he sits around the house, trying to find something that will make time pass. From cooking breakfast, doing the laundry, reading books, cooking lunch, writing poems, and is now here. Stuck at staring a glass cup half-full with water.
"Channie. What are you doing?" A voice in front of him sits across from him and puts their hands, intertwined with each other, on the table.
"Trying to pass the time." Chan brings a hand up and pokes at the glass with his nail.
The person across from him chuckles a little and brings the glass away from the other.
Chan whines and sits up to face the other only to give them a pout.
"Don't give me that look Channie. Do you wanna help me find a restaurant for dinner?" Mingyu places the glass down and looks at the other hopefully.
"Fine,  fine. I've got nothing to do anyway." Chan gives the taller a small smile and Mingyu smiles back with joy.
-
"I'm sure you all will love it!" Mingyu says with much glee that he looks like an over-excited puppy.
Chan walks behind slowly, trying to read his book about flower meanings, overhearing the conversation every few minutes.
Footsteps? From behind me? Chan looks up from his book and looks back into the darkness where only a few faint streetlights could illuminate the area. Strange. I swear I could hear someone. Chan continues walking, keeping his walking steady as he could almost feel the breath of the person following him. Turning back only to see nobody and darkness.
Chan looks forward once again. Still skeptical of the situation he was in.
-
"This place has amazing food!" Soonyoung exclaims, spreading his arms out to express his gratitude.
"Mhm. It's not often we find a place as good as this." Jihoon says with a small smile on his face, his headphones lingering on his shoulders.
The group talk to each other as they walk through the dark streets of Korea.
The feeling is back. Chan says in his head. Chan tries to focus on his book in front of him, but he can't shake off that lurking feeling that some is watching him from behind, maybe not even a few metres away.
As Chan closes his book with a sigh, he looks up, not realizing how far behind he was from the group, Chan gets nervous but stays calm.
Just walk faster. Following the thought, he walks faster to catch up with his boyfriends, which were now just a bit further ahead.
Just as soon Chan thought he caught up, he was slammed against the wall of a store.
Chan's breathing was caught off guard, the sudden intrusion on his throat, pushing him back and maybe even lifting him up as well, Chan was very light after all, Chan's heart starts pounding faster, unsure of what this situation was, and why did it even happen?
The other 12 look back to see a person in black choke-holding their beloved maknae. Chan looks confused, but they could definitely see the nervous aura surrounding him.
"W-what do you want..?" Chan stutters out, Chan's hands found themselves up where the person's hand were, trying to unleash himself from his hold.
This isn't how I thought I would die! Chan closes his eyes, desperately scratching the other's hands to let him go.
"Your father..." The person begins, their voice was scratchy and deep, scared Chan a bit, because he wasn't expecting an answer from the person.
"My father..?" Chan opens his eyes to lock faces with the other, Chan's confused, what about his father? "What about him?"
"He killed my brother, and since he's dead, you, his son, got to repay his debt!" The person's hold onto Chan's neck tightens and is pushing the poor boy's body further into the wall, if that was even possible.
"P-please! L-let me g-go..." Chan's voice becomes tinier, his hands seem to stop and Chan suddenly feels very tired, fighting for his life.
Faint police sirens were heard before anymore oxygen could go to Chan's lungs.
The person looks in shock and lets go of the boy before running off into a dark alleyway.
"Chan! Are you okay?" Jeonghan cries out, his hands immediately going for hug.
"I'm..." Chan could feel the gaze of his boyfriends and a few policemen on him, and that was it before he blacked out in Jeonghan's arms.
-
"Hey! That's cheating, you can't do that!" The young boy shouts at the other, his mouth going into a pout as he crosses his arms, to express that he was angry.
"Oh, sorry. I haven't played this game before." The other boy says quietly before looking down in guilt.
"Um, hey. Don't feel so sad about it or you'll make me sad!" The young boy says as he walks up to the other to give him a hug.
"Sorry."
"Stop saying sorry! It's not your fault."
"I'm sorry."
"Hey! Stop that." The boy pats the other's head before going off somewhere.
The other smiles while watching the young boy do what he does.
"I'm so sorry."
The boy smiles as he sees the young boy gives him a brighter smile than the sun, he carries something in his hands.
The light thing is placed upon his head and the boy awes at it, and goes off again to make another one.
The boy takes it off his head to take a look at the thing.
Flowers intertwined with a piece of string and leaves. A variety of colours that vary from red to purple. And there was one special touch to it. A small sun placed high above the flowers.
The boy smiles at that and places it on his head once again, this time with a smile. The boy looks up to the sky, only to see white reflect back to him.
"I'm sorry I brought this upon us."
-
A face appears in front of Chan.
"Jesub..? Is that you?" Chan smiles for a while before the face fades into nothing.
"Wait! Jesub! I'm so sorry!" Chan cries out as he can feel his tears fall from his cheek.
-
Chan wakes up in a cold sweat, straightening his back as fast as he could, which was a mistake on his part, immediately regretting the action.
"Chan! Stay still. Here's some water." Chan takes the water gratefully and drinks the water greedily.
"Channie... who is this 'Jesub'?" Chan looks up, frightened? Terrified? Scared? Nervous? Confused?, whatever it was, Chan rolled up into a ball, shaking and crying.
"Jesub... Jesub, I'm sorry."
The words, "I'm sorry" and "It's my fault", and the name, "Jesub", was the only thing Chan was saying, the boys couldn't do anything but watch and comfort him for the next few hours.
-
"Channie... What are we doing here?" Jun's voice goes unheard as Chan walks inside the dark shop.
"Hm? Oh Chan, here for the- Oh. Hello!" Fern's voice, soft as ever, rings inside Chan's ears. His gaze still down on the floor.
"Fern. One bouquet of yellow flowers and the 8th bouquet."
Fern could hear the unusual softness and sadness in the other's voice. Knowing that he should get the job done quickly.
"You can pay me tomorrow Channie. Bye." Fern's voice turns to sadness and they 13 boys leave the shop.
"What are those for Channie?" Seungcheol asks, he puts a hand on the younger's shoulder.
"Can you guys go home without me? I need to do something before I can go home." Chan looks up at the sky with a blank expression.
The 12 nod at each other and bid their goodbyes.
Chan sighs as he looks down at the bouquets in his hands.
Jesub. I'm sorry. It's my fault. I should've stopped him.
-
Chan sets the bouquet of flowers into a vase, as some watch, sudden realization that it was Chan who placed them there.
The bouquet was decorated with tall white Dittanys. They symbolize love, passion and romance. Chan often gets reminded of Jihoon. His passion for music has always amazed him and he is talented anything music-related. Although this hyung is not tall at all, he stills finds that these flowers represent Jihoon perfectly.
Chan smiles at them before leaving to freshen up for the next day, not saying a word to his boyfriends.
|~|Day 9|~|
4 more days. Chan just had to wait 4 more days.
Chan feels his throat for the 50th time that morning, the pain of the man's hand was still burning his throat, as well all the crying he had done that day.
Chan feels tired, his throat hurts, his back aches and his mind is lacking the energy to process anything.
"Channie? How is your throat?" A voice comes up from behind him, startling the other a bit, causing the other to naturally turn around to see who was talking to him.
Chan tries to speak, but his voice refused to, the words stuck in his throat.
" I see, still really bad." The other's voice was filled with worry, and Chan felt guilty.
Jun sat beside the younger and watched as Chan continued doing what he was doing before. A little bit of happiness filled his heart, but it was mostly full of troublesome feelings.
"Chan, Jun. It's time for lunch." Jihoon calls out as he stands in the doorway, leaning on it.
"Alright. Thanks Jihoon. Let's go Channie." Jun puts a hand on Chan's shoulder and lightly pulls the younger up.
Chan nods and let's the other pull him up.
-
Chan takes his medicine and accompanies it with some water.
After setting the glass done, Chan looks around the house to see if he can find anyone. Fortunately, nobody is around, so Chan decides to leave the house.
-
"Channie~" The soft yet annoying voice of Yonghee rings in Chan's ears.
Looking behind him, he sees Yonghee holding a bag of bubble tea and something else.
"Yonghee." Chan says in his softest voice ever. His throat still irritated even after taking the medicine and a bunch of water.
"I heard what happened, and unfortunately Hyojin got caught in a car accident, currently in the hospital, and SooHoon is accompanying him until he wakes up." Yonghee starts drinking her bubble tea and looks down.
"W-what..?" Chan says as he looks at the other with wide eyes, his heart almost missed a beat as he heard the words come out of the other's mouth.
"Yeah... So many unlucky things are happening recently, and I don't think my mental state can take it." Yonghee puts their drink down to put her hands on her face. Silent tears falling down.
"Yonghee..." Chan looks at the other with a heartbroken look.
Chan had only seen Yonghee cry three times. One time was when she was watching a drama and their second favourite side character died. The second time was because his pet snake died. The third time was when her best friend had passed away in their arms.
The fourth time is right now.
It's so rare to see Yonghee cry that it is almost unusual.
"It's gonna be okay." Chan says, trying to find other words to reassure the other that they aren't alone nor need to be in pain because they are still alive and healthy.
Yonghee looks at Chan. Seeing the face she had technically grew up with, smiling at her with such genuine trust and kindness, made them smile back.
"That's it! Keep on smiling. You look better when you smile." As if Chan's voice had magically started working again, they both laugh and Chan continues making jokes and such to get the other smiling and laughing again.
Because that's what makes him smile.
-
"Feeling better?" Chan holds Yonghee's hand as a friendly gesture, just in case Yonghee was still sad and wanted to tighten her grip on something that wasn't her own skin, just in case they pierced their skin with their nails.
"Mm." Yonghee gives the taller a genuine smile and tightens her hold on the older's hand.
"That's good." Chan uses his other hand to pat Yonghee's head, which makes the other remark that they weren't a pet, and immediately stopped holding his hand.
Chan laughs and continues to tease the other.
-
"I say we aim for the head."
"WTF- NO!"
-
Seungkwan sighs. Suddenly feeling depressed because the maknae is not in the house and not in his grasp.
"What are you sighing for, huh?" Minghao leans over the couch to talk the younger.
"I want Channie~." Seungkwan makes grabby hands to the air and falls back down as he feels his happiness drain away.
"Where is he anyway?" Jun says, who was on the side reading a book to past the time.
"Out with some friends. I think Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua went after him." Minghao replies to the other Chinese boy.
"Poor Joshua. I bet he is trying to stop the other two from doing anything to Chan's friends." Seungkwan says in pity.
Both Jun and Minghao hum in agreement.
-
"I'm gonna break their spine." Jeonghan says protectively.
"Jeonghan!" Joshua cries out, afraid of what's going to happen.
"I'll go for the head." Seungcheol says, somehow dark energy radiating off him.
"Seungcheol!" Joshua cries out, he looks at the youngest and his friend hanging with each other, most likely teasing each other.
Joshua sighs, "Jeonghan, Seungcheol! Both of you stop it."
"Joshua stay out of this." Seungcheol says softly but menacingly. Gently pushing him off his feet and him falling behind the bush the trio were hiding from.
"Channie... I'm sorry." Joshua says pitifully.
-
"What the heck were you guys trying to do to Yonghee?!" Chan yells, fortunately nobody was around, so nobody could hear him yell at his hyungs.
"Oi Channie. I think that's enough..." Yonghee softly says behind Joshua, obviously worried what is going to happen.
"He won't stop anytime soon, don't worry, they'll learn their lesson for trying to hurt you." Joshua says, a hand on Yonghee's shoulder to reassure them.
"Do they think I was trying to hit on him?"
"Most certainly."
"I have a boyfriend and a girlfriend... what the heck-"
-
Chan leaves the flower shop to meet up with the trio, only staying near Joshua, obviously pissed about what had happened earlier.
-
Chan sets up the flowers on the dining table and steps back to admire it with the others.
Forget-me-nots. Symbolizes memory, faithful love, fidelity and remembrance. The distinct colour of blue reminds Chan of Joshua. Joshua, along with Wonwoo, aren't the most remembered people when others talk about their group. Joshua is as unique as these flowers. Forget-me-nots have the natural colour blue and Joshua is a natural gentleman. He's gentle and polite. A true natural.
|~|Day 10|~|
"Hey Mingyu." Chan greets the taller and stands next to him to make his coffee.
"Hello Channie, what should I make for breakfast today?" Mingyu turns his body to face the other.
"Oh, I actually won't be in the house today. I have some business to attend to." Chan says before he takes a sip of coffee, immediately flinching as he forgot it was hot.
Mingyu chuckles at the younger's reaction and looks back at the stove, "I see, will you be home for dinner?"
"Probably not."
"Ah okay. See you then Channie." Mingyu gives the shorter a short glance with a smile and Chan smiles back.
-
"You finally made it." DongMi says, her tone being annoyed and irritation, she walks closer up to Chan.
"Sorry." Chan says simply while looking at the ground.
"Your apologies mean nothing to me." She spits back, trapping the shorter between her arms and making his back hit the wall behind him.
Chan's glasses nearly fall from the harsh impact.
"Heh. Now that I see you... you've got a really pretty face." DongMi grabs Chan's chin and lifts it up to see his face better.
Chan looks at the taller woman in front of him with a face of shock.
Never had Chan thought that someone who hates him takes romantic interest in him, even for bad intentions.
DongMi observes the younger's face a little longer before harshly throwing his chin away. She stands much more straighter then looks down at the other who was gathering his poster back.
"Oi pretty boy."
"U-uh yes?" Chan says timidly, afraid of saying something wrong.
"Having such a pretty face yet you're so useless, do something about it." DongMi takes something from her pocket and places near Chan's face.
It's cold...
"Make sure you do it well." Dropping the thing in Chan's hand, DongMi walks away.
"A knife..?"
-
Chan stares at the knife in his hand. Contemplating whether to do what DongMi says or not.
A fallen flower from the tree he was under lands on the small knife. It's beautiful intricate shape and smallness of it makes the other think of something.
-
"Oh Chan, you're back quite early. I thought Mingyu said you wouldn't be home for the day." Joshua says as he sees Chan at the door he had just opened.
"Yeah, some of the day was cancelled." Chan takes off his shoes as he walks through the door.
"Makes sense." Joshua looks at the other after closing the front door.
"Oh. What happened to your hand?" Joshua sees a bit of blood dripping from Chan's hand.
"Huh? Oh, this? I accidentally cut my hand with this knife while cooking my friend lunch." Chan explains as he takes out a knife that had blood on it.
"Are you okay?" Joshua says taking his hand in his to see the wound.
"If I weren't, I wouldn't have been able to walk home." Chan chuckles as he pulls his hand away, heading to the kitchen to find some band aids.
"True." Joshua says simply, smiling after a bit.
I might have not said the entire truth, but at least I didn't fully lie. Chan says in his head as he dresses his cut with a band aid.
-
"Channie~! We got the flowers you ordered." Jeonghan displays the vase and flowers to Chan and then smiled.
"Thank you Hyung." Chan says as he takes them from the older and he sits up to place them on the dining table where it belongs.
Camellias are really simple. Seriously. They might not be as simple as roses but Camellias are similar. They symbolize love, affection, adoration and admiration. The triple A. With a mix of red and white camellias they simply look beautiful and Mingyu fits that exact definition. The red symbolizes passion, Mingyu passion for cooking and music, and the white symbolizes his affection for them all.
Chan looks over to Mingyu, who is looking at the flowers with shiny eyes, Chan smiles then closes his eyes.
|~|Day 11|~|
"2 more days." Chan breathes out, he slants back into his chair, flopping his arms onto the armrests.
Chan sighs then straightens his back to observe his desk. Noticing a piece of paper about to slip out of a folder he had out, he quickly takes it out to prevent it from falling onto the floor.
"Best friends forever?" Chan reads out the writing written on the back of this so-called piece of paper.
Turning it around, Chan sees a photo. It's not an ordinary one.
Seeing the contents of the photo for a second longer he quickly throws it away from his vision. Sudden breaths leaving his mouth as he tries to reclaim his posture.
-
"Hey! Look what I found!"  The energetic male waves a camera around in his hands, running over to the matured boy and then makes a quick stop in front of him.
"What is it?" He asks as he turns around to face the younger.
"A polaroid camera! Let's take a photo together!" The younger smiles brightly when looking at the other with a pleading look.
Knowing the other, the shorter knows that the other doesn't usually like having his photo taken because of his past, but since he wants something to commemorate their friendship, he figured it'd be fine this once.
The other sighs, "Okay fine, only for you though." He smiles at the younger as he sees the other's face light up with so much joy.
"Smile!" The shorter holds the camera up and takes a photo.
Putting it back down to his own height, he sees the photo being printed out of the camera and waits for the photo to appear on the square sheet of paper.
"Had your fun now? Come on, we still got work to do." The older says, still with a smile on his face.
"Mhm~! I'm keeping this with me forever!" The more energized boy exclaims with glee.
He gives the other one more smile before running off to continue his work.
-
"J-Jesub... I wanna take one more photo with you."
-
Chan is sitting on his bed, still looking at the photo he had picked up a few hours ago. Crying every once in a while.
"Channie! Time for dinner." Seungkwan walks through the door to the room, then stops to see that Chan's eyes were red, "What happened? Are you okay?"
Seungkwan grabs Chan's shoulders, worry all over his face. Chan nods and leaves the photo on his bedside table.
"I'm alright, just going down memory lane. Come on, let's go." Chan, nearly on the verge of tears again, says to the not much older person in the room.
"If you say so." Seungkwan says smiling, while Chan also smiles to him.
-
"What happened? Are you okay?" The always energetic boy says, worry all over his face as he grabs the older's shoulders to see him clearer.
"Mhm, yeah, I'm alright." The other says, as he wipes his tears from his red eyes.
"Stop rubbing them, here." The boy grabs a handkerchief from his pocket and rests it on Chan's eyes to gently pat the tears away.
"Haha, thanks." He chuckles as the younger gives him an attempted stern look to stop moving around.
"Are you going to tell me why you were crying Hyung?" The younger asks as he sits down next to the older. Jesub cautiously looks at Chan to make sure he wasn't saying anything triggering to the other.
"Probably not, I'll tell someone when I'm ready." The taller says with a small smile.
The shorter looks at the other with worry but sighs then smiles.
-
"I wanna tell you now. Is that okay or are you busy?"
-
It seemed like the day had gone by like a minute had passed. Since when was it already the time to set the flowers up?
Chan cautiously places the vase in place then the flowers right after.
Seungkwan is unique, a one-of-a-kind type of person, someone who can bring joy and laughter where ever he went. Which is why Chan chose primroses for this day. It's a unique choice for love. It symbolizes devotion and everlasting love. Seungkwan will love someone with his whole body and soul. Seungkwan would keep you happy as long as he could. When Seungkwan is down, he'd still put the person he loves first than himself. Seungkwan is someone who can smile through many tough times, and even when he's not smiling he's still there with others to share pain.
Chan walks away, unable to look at Seungkwan or the flowers anymore. It reminds him so much of him.
|~|Day 12|~|
Chan swings his pencil around, Unable to focus during the test he's doing. Chan's only focus was on Jesub. It's hard to even think his name now.
"1 hour remaining!"
Chan looks up from his test sheet to realize how far behind he is. Abandoning the thought of Jesub for the time being, Chan speed runs through the test. Fortunately, the test was fairly easy for Chan, so he managed to hand his test in 5 minutes before the timer.
-
"Professor Kim?" Chan walks into the classroom to see Namjoon grading papers.
"Mm, yes Chan?" Namjoon takes his glasses into his hands as he watches Chan walk up to him.
"I was just wondering... what place has beautiful scenery at like late times?" Chan asks as he fidgets with his sleeves.
"Hm... I'd say the cliff near the university here. If you go left when you leave the campus, and keep on going you'll see a cliff with a swinging bench underneath an old tree. If you sit there at around 4am in the morning, a beautiful sunrise will appear." Namjoon says as he smiles, as if he had experienced it at least 6 times.
"Oh... well thank you Professor, have a good day." Chan waves goodbye as he walks out of the room.
-
Chan steps on a chair to grab something on the roof of the shared house.
"What in the world... How did that even get up there?" Jun says from behind Chan, where he had just came home from studying.
Chan, who is startled by the sudden voice, softly screams and fall backwards.
With great reflexes, Jun catches Chan as he nearly hits the ground.
"Be more careful dude." Jun says in an exasperated voice.
"Sorry Jun. I didn't see or hear you from behind me." Chan says, currently getting out of Jun's arms.
"It's alright Channie. Let me go inside first." Jun pats Chan's shoulder then heads inside the house, that the door was already open.
"Mhm, go on ahead." Chan smiles then waves at Jun.
"Now how to get that off the roof..."
-
Chan sits down on the couch facing the television. It's a movie night and the boys have decided to watch something called... uh.. What was it called again? Anyways, Chan rests his eyes as the movie plays as background noise. Unfortunately for Chan, he had been so busy getting Hansol's phone from off the roof, he had depleted all his stamina and energy since he was jumping so much.
"What is that guy doing?! He could've at least moved aside for him! Gosh dang it, I hate this movie, I wanna watch something else!" Seungkwan says out loud, a few sounds of agreement could be heard as the remote holder, Seungcheol, just rubbed his temples out of frustration.
"Alright fine! But," Seungcheol pauses his words for a moment, as well as pausing the movie, his side of his lips curling up in amusement, "First one to go get Chan's flowers and back to the house, gets to pick the movie we'll be watching."
Everyone, minus Chan and Seungcheol, look at each other for a few seconds before immediately bursting out the front door, determination brought along with them.
Chan's opens his eyes when he realizes that the room had become completely silent, the movie had been paused to somewhere weird, and 11 people, who were just in the room a few moments ago, had disappeared.
Before Chan could figure out what had happened, Wonwoo and Jeonghan were both running through the door with tired faces with their cheeks all red and their breaths were uneven, while Wonwoo is holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
"What the..?"
"Here you go Channie." Wonwoo hands the bouquet of flowers to the younger and flops onto the couch, letting the oxygen flow through him, Jeonghan following along.
"Ah Wonwoo, looks like you get to pick then." Seungcheol hands the younger the remote, and he takes it gratefully.
"Thank you Hyung." Wonwoo says with a victorious smile, while Jeonghan gives Wonwoo a playful glare.
The rest of the group come piling in, unstable and tired, they flop down on a spare seat on the couch and chairs, catching their breaths.
They all talk for a while before Wonwoo had finally found a movie he wanted to watch.
"I'm actually going to go to bed after I put these flowers in the vase. You guys have fun." Chan whispers as he stands up to go to the dining room.
"Yeah no problem, goodnight Channie."Jeonghan whispers back.
A chain of goodnights follow after as Chan leaves the room.
Chan makes it to the living room, flowers in hand, and heads over to the table with the vase.
It's already the last day? Chan thinks, a bit sad, How has these past few days gone so brightly? Except for those times... Why have they been so much more affectionate? Have they always been like that?
Shaking the thoughts away for tomorrow, Chan sets down the bouquet of flowers into the vase.
The flowers were a pure white colour with a cute yellow bud in the middle of them. They symbolize purity, trust and hope. Is it safe to say that Jun matches this description? Jun is a light, a pure light that guides us through the darkness. He is trustworthy as much as everyone else in the group. He gives most of us hope that we don't usually have. Jun is beautiful.
Chan sighs, admiring the flowers from afar one last time before heading upstairs to sleep.
|~|Day 13|~|
It's the final day, and I'm still here deciding if I should do it? Would it be worth it? After these 13 days my boyfriends have gave me. Is it really worth it? Could I ever receive treatment like this again if I don't?
"Hey Hyungs, I'm going out for a bit, see you." Chan waves goodbye as he walks out of the house.
Let's meet up with Yonghee, SoonHoon and Hyojin first.
-
"Hey guys!"
"Channie!" Yonghee exclaims, excited to see the older.
"Hey there bud, how's life treating ya?" SooHoon, who is unexpectedly in a good mood, greets the other with a soft punch to the shoulder.
"Hi Chan. It's nice to finally see you again." Hyojin comes out from behind SooHoon with a cast over his right arm.
"Hey Hyojin, SooHoon and Yonghee. I'm doing fine." Chan replies back to their greetings.
"So~ What does everyone want to do?"
"How about we go to Quix's café?"
"Good idea!"
-
"Ah welcome Yonghee, SooHoon, Hyojin and Chan! The usual today?" Quix soft and polite voice accompanies their ears, which bring them some fuzzy feelings.
Quix's glasses, which compliment his face cutely, stay steady on his nose. His innocent-like face gives him a sweet and adorable aura.
"You know it!" Yonghee exclaims softly, her fist clenched in a determined stance, which gives Quix the idea that something special is happening today.
"Alright, just wait a few minutes and I'll be right away with your order." Quix gives them his usual iconic smile and goes over to help the next customer.
-
"Hey Hyojin." Chan taps the other's shoulder and points to his wrist to indicate he wanted to know the time.
"It's... 4:21" Hyojin says as he looks back at Chan, who has a relieved expression on his face.
"Alright, thanks. Can you tell the other two that I'm gonna head back?" Chan gives Hyojin a smile when the other nods, "Thanks, bye Hyojin!"
-
"Oh hey Chan, you're here quite early, I haven't quite finished putting the flowers together yet." Fern looks at Chan with a sorta slightly awkward and embarressed smile.
"Oh really? That's fine, how long will you need?"
"Not much, If you need it now then I can finish it in a few minutes." Fern says as he smiles.
Chan smiles back and leaves the shop to let Fern do his business.
"I'm done Chan! Here you go~." Fern says with singing tone, in an unusually happy mood for some reason, he hands the batch of flowers to the other.
"Thanks Fern. It's been nice doing business with you." Chan gives Fern one last smile before waving goodbye and he smiles to himself at the beautiful smell of flowers.
-
After getting everything prepared, Chan waits for the night sky to overtake the skies.
He breathes in a large breath of hair from his seat on the bridge, as he does, he thinks about it one last time... should he really do this? Chan sighs.
Before he could think about it one more time, he had realised it was now night.
He sets the vase with the pure white flowers near where he was sitting, takes off his shoes and set them aside with the flowers, he leaves the note clipped onto one of the flower's stems and he breathes one last fresh breath of air, for maybe the very last time.
Chan gets ready to climb onto the railing before he was tackled down to the ground.
Huh?! Who is this?! Chan thinks inside his head, the person on top of him, about to suffocate him by how tight they were holding onto him, just cries, he can't make up what the other is saying underneath his cries and erratic breaths.
"C-Channie! P-please don't do that again!" The person, who Chan could easily recognise was Jeonghan's, hugs Chan tighter than before, if that was even possible at this point, afraid of losing him.
What would happen if they didn't make it in time? Would he had actually jumped?!
"Channie!" Another voice, Seungcheol's.
A mountain of voices call out his name at once.
Chan can't help but cry himself.
He thought he could do it.
Look at Jesub again.
Just once.
Or maybe even the rest of his life?
He just wanted to be with Jesub!
But his boyfriend's...
What would he do without them?
Through all the pain he went through, they were there for him.
Even if they would sometimes bully him.
They were so nice.
And it KILLED him.
It HURTS.
It HURT him so much he wanted to just die.
When was there someone who had cared as much as Jesub?]
For all those years.
Was he blind?
Yonghee... I'm sorry, you have my gratitude, I was too blind to see that you cared for me like nobody else did.
Fern... you were so nice to me. I was so into killing myself, I didn't realise I was hurting the ones around me.
Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Wonwoo, Seungkwan, Hansol, Seokmin, Minghao, Jihoon, Soonyoung. I'm so sorry, I didn't realise you loved me.
Jesub. You were the greatest person I had ever in my life.
Yet he was so blind.
-
"I passed out from stress?" Chan asks with uncertainty.
Yesterday was such a mess, he couldn't remember what went through his head, except all he knew was that the white flowers next to him were definitely for him, gifted by himself.
"Yes, unfortunately, because of your attempted suicide, we have to put you in the psychological ward for the next few weeks." The doctor sighed.
"Unfortunately? Is it bad in there?" Chan, who is suddenly interested of the doctor, leans forward to hear more.
"Eh... well, I'm not supposed to say this but uh..." The doctor who hesitated, say Chan's gesture to continue on and figured, well why not, he'll tell the other anyway, "The psychological ward doesn't make you feel any better, especially if you hate expressing your feelings, it makes you go out of your comfort zone, and they force you to do some... stuff."
The doctor scratches his head, unsure if he should've told his pa"tient that, he remembers his time in the psychological ward as a patient, he felt like hell in there, but he figured if he had pretended that the psychological ward did make him get better, he'll get out that hell quicker, which worked, suprisingly, he was off from work for a few months before he was allowed to resume work. Though, everyone else in the psychological ward, seemed to think otherwise, and seemed to have a good time, but he knows his patient right in front of him, has had problems expressing himself.
Chan stays silent, afraid of what will happen to him in the psychological ward, "Oh... is there some way to avoid going to the psychological ward? I really don't want to go! I was able to resist my urge to kill myself for many years, I only just wanted to find the right moment to do it! So, is that a good enough reason not to go?" Chan asks the interesting fellow ahead of him.
The doctor thought for a moment, interested with the idea, "I'll see what I can do for you, but if they refuse, I'll have to have you argue for your rights and the reason why you don't want to go to the ward, I'll be cheering for you on the sidelines, and try to make as many points as much as I can." The doctor says with a smile.
Chan lights up with so much respect for the other, "Thank you so much Doctor- uh, what's your name?"
"You can just call me Mark. Mark Tuan."
"Thank you so much Doctor Mark!"
"Just doing what I have to do." Mark gives the younger a reassuring smile and heads out of the room to talk to the receptionist.
Chan sighs in relief.
"Chan."
"Huh?"
"You've got some pretty flowers next to you. Is it okay if I take them with me?"
"Jesub?!"
"Hehe, you've changed after all these years, but look at me. Still the same."
"..."
"So, what do you say?"
"Heh... sure."
"Thanks Chan. Oh by the way. Don't die, okay? I need you to experience a lot of things for me, aight?"
Jesub smiles at Chan one last time before fading away from Chan's vision. Chan seeing that Jesub had actually took the flowers with him and it wasn't a dream.
Chan chuckles softly.
"Okay, I will."
A/N:  Hi everyone! This oneshot took longer than intended, but don't worry! This is technically the average time it takes to finish one of these, because as you can tell this oneshot is indeed very long, and it probably does have a few errors, and a rushed ending. I don't know, you guys can decide what I did wrong, because I am no professional writer! That's all I needed to say~ have a great day/night! <3
