Chapter Thirteen

Da Fan woke up to light streaming through her bedroom window. The husky scent of a male lingered on the pillow beside her. She sat up at the edge of the bed, her bed sheets bundled at her waist, painting a picture of allure and seduction.

"Mistress?" Meirin came into the room when she heard Da Fan calling for her.

Meirin saw the red marks on Da Fan's body along with Feng Huang bodily fluids leaking down her thighs. Meirin moved her eyes away and quickly helped Da Fan put on a robe.

But Meirin's apparent stares and the red hue of blush on her face gave her away. Da Fan smiled coyly at the red hue of a blush on Meirin's dark skin and asked her.

"Meirin, have you seen enough?"

"Mistress!" Meirin yelled, embarrassed that Da Fan would ask her such a thing.

"Meirin such sights are a common thing. You can't blush every time you see me like this. Perhaps it's the virgin in you. Should I arrange for a marriage for you? I heard Husband steward Xin is still unmarried."

"Don't ask that, Mistress. This servant is perfectly content in serving by your side."

"Alright, alright I won't. Teasing you is so much fun Meirin. You haven't changed much since childhood."

"Mistress!"

Meirin screams and Da Fan laughter could be heard from within the courtyard. After Da Fan washed and sat in front of the breakfast table, Meirin finally spoke to her.

"Steward Xin says Master Feng asked that Mistress should prepare for a two week trip to the Easter Feng Residence."

"Trip? Have you seen Husband?"

"Master Feng left early this morning, while you were sleeping to prepare for the journey. Servants say that Master Feng left in a good mood."

Da Fan picked up a pair of chopsticks, "I wouldn't be doing my job as a wife if he hadn't."

Knowing her Mistress was still trying to tease her, Meirin knew better not to comment.

"Mistress, should be prepare for the trip?" Meirin asked Da Fan the double question.

"Yes, prepare some teas for the trip." Da Fan replied, secretly asking Meirin to prepare medicine. "Make sure the servants knows what to pack. Has steward Xin stated when we're leaving?"

"Noon Mistress."

Da Fa sent Meirin away and continued to eat.

At some minutes to noon, Feng Huang entered Da Fan room without announcement. Sitting at a mirror with a servant brushing her hair, Feng Huang had to pay attention to the beautiful clad Da Fan.

"Husband?" Da Fan stood with a smile. The slow almost lazy like movement did not miss his glance.

Feng Huang gave her a slow, half a smile and brushed the swaying strands of hair out her face.

"Are you well?"

No one but Feng Huang could make Da Fan blushed so willingly.

"Em."

"Have you finished getting ready?"

"Yes."

Feng Huang moved slightly to Da Fan, gently taking her hand.

"Come, the carriage awaits."

On the eighth day of the tenth month, the Royal court was opening for the day. Carriages of officials and ministers moved through the palace gates. Just as the court opened, an official burst through the heavy doors of the court.

"What's with all these noise. Official Qing, what's going on? " Emperor Jing Ruan Qi was a dragon amongst men. He came into power over forty years ago at a young age of nineteen. As the youngest of three brothers, neither brothers expected their younger brother to usurp them of the crown. It was unexpected that he gave birth to five dragons.

"What's going on?" The Emperor roared at the robust official, who was trying to catch his breath.

"Your Majesty, Chawanian soldiers are reported to have crossed the Eastern borders."

As the news came out, it instantly caused a huge ripple throughout the court.

"How many have crossed the borders and how did you get this information?"

The Official started to sweat, with His Majesty the Emperor boring down on him along with Generals and Ministers, he found it hard to speak.

"A group of hunters discovered the camp when out hunting near the borders four days ago. The hunters say they saw fifty soldiers. They all had white tiger crest on their weapons."

"So it really is Chawanian soldiers. With such small amount of soldiers just what do they expect to accomplish?" the Emperor muttered.

As the severity of the situation is explained, plenty of old Ministers and Generals wanted to volunteer their sons to lead the expedition to eradicate the Chawanian soldiers.

Hearing the loud Ministers each offering up their sons, the Emperor slammed his hand down on his throne to quiet them.

"Hear my decree, First Prince Jing Long is hereby ordered to lead a hundred man squad to the Eastern border and eliminate all the Chawanian soldiers."
