santana's pov:

i was laying by the pool when i saw my phone go off. it was a notification from facebook saying i received a friend request. brushing it off i spent time with my family. hours pass by and i have time to myself so i open up my phone and check facebook.

opening my notification tab i see the username. it was y/n her and i were inseparable years ago we basically grew up together. there were feelings that we both shared for each other but never acted on it. i obviously accepted it to see how she was doing in life.

from what i've seen so far she's married with two kids and recently moved back to lima from Los Angeles. what a exciting life. she still keeps in touch with most people from our graduation year so maybe one of them gave her my @.

my husband came in giving me kisses and telling me to get in bed with him. the next morning i drove my kids to school and saw two familiar faces. her kids were attending the same school as mine does. great.

i was bound to see her one of these days. it's not like i didn't want to. as i drove home it was all i could think about. when i got home i went through old boxes i had from highschool and found my yearbook.

flipping through the pages i found our class and looked for our pictures. i found my yearbook picture and hers was next to it surrounded by hearts she had drew.

tracing my fingers over them i remember how she grabbed my yearbook and signed it. scrambling throughout the pages to look for it i came across the arts section of McKinley. in the glee club photo it was pretty obvious we both liked each other.

we had our hands wrapped around one another with rosey cheeks. i turned to the next page filled with scribbles and writings from people who signed it. my eyes traced through those two pages hoping to find hers.

what a dork. she even drew more hearts. don't even get me started on the nickname. although it was better than the other ones she had for me it was cheesy in a way.

to try and clear my mind i played music to listen to as i read a book. so many songs played i read so many lines but i couldn't stop thinking about her. as i sat with music playing in the distance i thought about everything that happened between us. it was nothing bad we just simply grew up and didn't stay in touch with one another.

nothing lasts i know the deal but i'm worried i'm going to feel like this forever. my alarm went off on my phone to go pick up the kids. stepping out of the vehicle i was met with my two boys. interrupting the conversation we were having about their days someone was trying to get my attention.

"santana? is that you?" turning my head i was met by y/n in all her glory. picking up my sun glasses i smiled as i saw the expression on her face when she saw it was actually me. her daughter and son asked her who i was as she stood their stunned to see me after so many years.

"hi" was the only thing that escaped my lips and a simple wave. she came in for a hug and i did too. there were no words to explain how much i missed her and from the looks of it she missed me too. when we pulled out from the hug she brought her kids out from hiding behind her and bent down to meet their level.

"this is mommy's friend from highschool" she said pointing to me. "santana this is melanie and jose" she said introducing me to her kids. "these two stinkers are alejandro jr and micheal" everyone exchanged their hi's.

she then stood up allowing our kids to speak about whatever while we somewhat caught up with one another. "it's so good to see you san!" the smile on my face got wider as she used my old nickname. "its great to see you too! you look amazing y/n" she just laughed and returned the compliment. her phone rang and i guess it was her husband because after she had to leave.

"it was nice seeing you again. we should have a play date one of these days if it's alright with you" she suggested grabbing her children's hands. "of course just let me know when!"

"do you have the same number or is it a new one?"

"same one" i couldn't believe she still had my number after all these years. "ok i'll let you know when i'm available. bye sweeties! bye santana" she cooed same with her kids.

"byee" and with that she was gone. when i got in the car you felt so happy that i had saw her. with all the excitement i decided to call quinn and tell her everything.

"hello?" her voiced echoed throughout the whole car as i drove. looking in the rearview mirror making sure alejandro and micheal both had their headphones on i continued my conversation.

"you will not believe who i saw today"

"who?"

"y/n!"

"oh my gosh really?"

"yeah the other day she sent me a friend request and i accepted it and apparently our kids go to the same school"

"that's great. she asked about you the other day"

"what'd she say?" i knew the first person i should've called when i saw the notification was quinn. she knows everything about everyone.

"oh nothing she told me she found you on facebook and asked how you were doing"

getting off of the car with my phone in hand i made sure the kids got in with their things. sitting on the couch after i made sure they were doing their homework i threw the yearbook to the side.

"did you guys talk?" she asked hoping the two of us did.

"of course. she's supposed to let me know when we'd have a play date" as i said that i received a message from y/n.

"wait quinn i'm going to put you on speaker she just texted me" i told her as i tapped the phone.

"she said see you then" quinn just sighed "so then you'll see her then."

it was set she was to come over for a play date on friday and i couldn't wait to see her.
