Chapter 5

You were standing in the grass. Naturing surrounding you on all sides. It was peaceful. Strangely, a soft, quiet music box could be heard. This was what you needed, a break. A true break, from everything.

You sat down and smiled.

But...

This isn't real.

You were awoken by someone shaking you.

"H-huh? W-what?"

I wanna go back...

" We've been trying to wake you up forever!"

" More like a few minutes," Connor said.

" What are you doing here?" You ask.

" Uh... Getting you, you were taking too long"

" Oh..."

You sighed and stood up, " Let's go then...".

2 hours later

"Come on Y/N! Make up your mind!"

"I did, I don't want to do anything"

"But it's going to be your birthday! You've ignored the last few"

"Really?"

Tammy stared at you blankly, "You're turning 29, Y/N".

"Oh... I am"

"You work too much"

"I agree with Tammy, you've gotten pretty far by only working a few years Y/N. Take a break and have some fun"

You sighed, " Can't. Busy".

"You better not be on your birthday!"

"Probably will be..."

"Y/N!"

"Okay... Okay... I'll try to not"

You look over as you hear the front door open.

"Hey, dad..."

"Woah... Why is everyone here?"

"Y/N doesn't want to do anything for their birthday..."

"I'll probably be working"

"I'm sure you can probably be home early enough to have some fun, you don't have to work the whole day," your dad said.

"See?"

You rolled your eyes, "Fine".

"Wait... Why are you here dad?"

"You weren't in your office and your music box on the floor"

"Oh, It probably fell out when I reached in the drawer earlier"

"Well, here you go"

You put the box in your pocket.

" Tammy, Connor, go home. I'm tired, we can talk tomorrow"

"Can we at least plan something fun for you?" Tammy asked.

"If you leave now"

"Fine... Bye Y/N"

You walk over to your bed and lay down.

Yeah, you probably did need a good break.

You did need more fun in your life.

Huh....29 this year...You did move quickly...

Slow down... Have fun, Y/N... That's what you need now.

But... Things don't always go according to plan, do they?
