Chapter 20 (Bad Ending)

This is the 1st version of the ending. The 2nd version will be the good ending. Y'all are gonna hate me so much after this—

There, right before Spirit's eyes, stood the hotel. The hotel they had watched burn to ashes by the cruel flames of fire. Spirit rubbed their eyes, unsure if they were seeing this right. There was no way...no way that the hotel was back. There was...no possible way.
"Guiding Light?" a familiar voice spoke up. Spirit whipped around violently to see Glitch standing there, blinking in confusion. Spirit immediately prepared for another fight, despite being extremely exhausted. However, Glitch didn't seem to be trying to continue the fight at all.
"If you want another fight—" Spirit started threateningly, trying to make themselves sound stronger and more energized than they actually were.
"What? No," Glitch shook his head. "I'm trying to ask you what the HECK happened HERE?"
Spirit hurriedly explained everything to the confused, shocked Glitch. Glitch listened patiently to the summary of the story. Spirit had condensed it down into the important things so that the story wouldn't take an hour to retell.
"What about Shadow? Is he okay?" Glitch asked worriedly.
"I—I don't know." Spirit admitted. Glitch's eyes widened, his expression shifting to a bit of anger.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU PROTECT MY LITTLE BROTHER MORE? WHY DIDN'T YOU KEEP TRACK OF WHERE HE WAS?" Glitch burst out, glaring at Spirit. Spirit flinched, taken aback by the sudden outburst.
"I needed to focus on sending the corrupted Guiding Light back to their own dimension. If I hadn't, I would've been killed as well as Shadow." Spirit pointed out. Glitch sighed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just worried..." Glitch apologized. Spirit glanced around. Speaking of Shadow, where was Shadow? Spirit's breath caught in their throat as they spotted a dark shape on the ground. Spirit let out a cry of dismay, running over to the fallen entity.
"SHADOW!" Spirit screamed, tears appearing in their eyes as they crouched down next to their best friend (crush?). "SHADOW, WAKE UP! SHADOW!" Spirit shook the entity, but he lay completely still. There was no sign of life from him at all. "SHADOW!" Spirit cried out, sobbing. Glitch fell to his knees next to Spirit, staring at the lifeless body of Shadow with hollow, tired eyes.
"I killed him..." Glitch choked out. "I killed my own brother..."
"This was all my fault, I'm so sorry..." Spirit whimpered. They leaned forward and kissed Shadow's forehead. Then, tears flooded from Spirit's eyes.
"W-wait, you—?" Glitch gave Spirit an odd look. Oh, right...Spirit hadn't told him about Spirit and Shadow's moments. But Spirit didn't feel like explaining. A sadness weighed them down too heavily and blocked up their throat (not literally, of course).
"Shadow..." Spirit whispered, their voice thick with emotion.
"We need to get things back in order again..." Glitch began in a sad voice, tears running down the entity's face. "Even though Shadow is—is—"
"I know." Spirit choked out, wiping their tears on their sleeve. However, more tears poured from their eyes uncontrollably. Their heart ached. Spirit tore their gaze from Shadow's lifeless body.
"Let's...let's gather everyone up and get things back to normal. That's what...that's what Shadow would've done." Glitch said. Spirit could tell that Glitch didn't want to move on by the way that the words sounded so forced. But both of them knew they had to. They had to get the hotel working again. They had to fix their home.
Glitch and Spirit began gathering all the entities up, who were in their human forms. Everyone was upset at Shadow's death. Spirit and Glitch's words were so emotionless that anyone could tell that they were practically depressed.
Glitch explained to all the entities everything that had happened, as Spirit didn't trust themselves to speak without breaking into tears again. All the entities headed inside the hotel—except for Spirit. Spirit couldn't even look at the hotel without having to hold back tears. So instead, they opened up a portal, glanced back at the hotel, and stepped inside.
"GUIDING LIGHT, WAIT!" Glitch shouted just as Spirit closed the portal. Spirit found themselves in the previous dimension—the one they had wandered with Shadow. My eight-step-process of writing this:
1. start writing
2. get distracted
3. take a break for multiple hours because I got way too distracted
4. get spammed by my friends
5. play Roblox with them
6. lose motivation
7. get re-motivated hours later
8. repeat
By the way, this is the end of the story. I will write the good ending, but this is the end of the bad ending. Feel free to make a continuation of the bad ending, since I'm not going to. (If you do, please tag me. I'd love to see it)
Y'all are gonna hate me so much for killing off Shadow lol.
