11. NEW TO WATTPAD

this chapter is dedicated to a user who messaged me for advice on her story

There's two sides of Wattpad- the insanely popular stories that are really aesthetic and then stories that. . . aren't. . . So here are my tips on how to get a story more "aesthetic" and easier to get your story more popular!

EVEN IF YOU AREN'T THE BEST WRITER- PEOPLE SOMETIMES SKIP THAT JUST FOR THE DRAMA OR HOW AESTHETIC YOUR STORY IS!

TIP ONE: titles

Instead of having the title "a Riverdale Fanfiction" "Jughead's sister" or "Jughead Jones Fanfiction" make a unique title name - you could even use a song title!

Then in the title add the love interest, if there is one. This is how people can find your story. Everyone wants to read a Jughead Jones fan fiction so title your story: SONG TITLE (JUGHEAD JONES).

TIP TWO: tags

People don't understand that tags are how you find a story. You might only tagged riverdale in the story because it's a riverdale story, but add each characters name to it for a wider range. Range it from #ArchieAndrews to #KevinKeller and #FPJones.

TIP THREE: covers

Honestly, covers are how a story is defined. People on Wattpad DO judge a book by its cover. So, to get a cool cover for your story- go to the many cover shops on Wattpad!

We're even going to make a cover shop for you eventually if that helps everyone out!

Just making it more appealing than a screenshot of a character brings the reader in- rather than having a red text over a picture as well.

TIP FOUR: pov/describing

For your story, I want to say keep your POV to one per chapter and lengthen the chapter! I tend to make my chapters 1,000 words and keep it to half an episode so I can add as much detail in it! I add how my character feels and describe the surroundings. People tend to add pictures every few paragraphs of a car or their house- but instead of showing it- I think describing a white car would be better!
