Party Guessed

I was standing in the abandoned train depot that was the home base for Derek’s pack because I had decided to come and offer my help to Derek since it was the first full moon Boyd and Erica were going through and Isaac didn’t have control yet.

“What is that?” Isaac asked curiously as he crouched down near the lid of the trunk that Derek had brought out and pointed to the black painted on triskele.

“It's a triskele. Spirals mean different things - Past, present, future. Mother, father, child.” Boyd explained to him from his position next to the train car door where Erica was leaning in the doorframe.

“You know what it means to me?” Derek asked him as he turned his head to look at the Beta with a quirk eyebrow and I looked over at Boyd curiously as I tilted my head to the side.

“Alpha, beta, omega?”

“That's right. It's a spiral. Reminds us that we can all rise to one or fall to another. Betas can become alphas, but alphas can also fall to betas or even omegas.” The Alpha told them as he smiled faintly at Boyd and I crossed my arms over my chest.

“Like Scott?” Isaac asked a little spitefully as he traced the triskele with his finger and I rolled my eyes as Derek looked over at him blankly.

“Scott's with us.” he told him firmly as he reached into the trunk and I head the clang of metal as I grimaced slightly at the memory of my first full moon.

“Really? Then where is he now?”

“He's looking for Jackson. Don't worry, he's not gonna have it easy tonight either. None of us will. There's a price you pay for this kind of power. You get the ability to heal, but tonight you're gonna want to kill anything you can find.” Derek explained to them all as he stood up from his crouch and turned around to look at us all sympathetically.

“Good thing I had my period last week, then.” Erica quipped easily to break the tension filled silence and I laughed softly in appreciation as the guys cringed slightly. The blonde winked in my direction as Derek bent down to the trunk and stood back up with a metal headband with spikes pointing inwards.

“Well, this one's for you.” He told her cheerfully as he held it out towards her and she quirked an eyebrow at it as the boys grimaced in sympathy.

“Eh. It’s not so bad. I had to wear it on my first full moon.” I informed her casually as I pushed myself off of the train wall and walked forward to take the contraption out of Derek’s hand. I placed it on my head carefully so that it was balancing and they all gave me amused looks as I tried walking in a straight line without it falling off. I walked a few paces forward until the ring fell off and I quickly caught it in mid-air before it could hit the ground.

“What are you going to be doing tonight?” Isaac asked me as I placed the headband down in the trunk and then turned to face him with a smile.

“I’m going to Lydia’s birthday party, of course. Party of the year.” I told him with a slightly mocking smile as I strolled past him towards the train car in I had taken over and he smiled back at me sarcastically.

I walked into my train car with a sigh and I looked over at the photo frame with a picture of Cora and I back when we were eight with a smile.

I heard someone’s footsteps approaching the door as I stretched my arms over my head and I turned around with my arms still up to see Derek leaning in the doorway with his arms crossed over his broad chest. I dropped my arms to my sides with a smirk when I saw Derek’s eyes subtly go down to my chest and his heartbeat picked up slightly before calming down.

“Where are the Beta’s?” I asked him curiously as I tilted my head to the side and bit my lower lip as I let my gaze travel down his muscular body.

“I’m not sure. They disappeared not long after you did.” Derek informed me nonchalantly as he glanced over his shoulder at the empty depot before looking back at me with a smirk and I nodded in mock seriousness.

“Hm. Interesting.” I murmured quietly as a slow smile spread across my lips and he quirked an eyebrow at me with amusement in his greyish eyes.

We stared at each other in silence for a tension filled second before somehow we were both in the middle of the room and our lips were pressed together passionately. Derek’s hands gripped my thighs roughly as my fingers tangled in his dark hair and he easily lifted my up so that my legs were wrapped around his waist.

Derek groaned in the back of his throat as his fingers dug into the skin at my thighs and I swiped my tongue across his bottom lip to ask permission which he eagerly gave. He took the opening to connect our tongues together in a battle for dominance as he dug his fingers deeper into my skin and I draped my arms around his neck as he walked us towards the mattress in the middle of the room.

Derek laid me down on the mattress without disconnecting our mouth from the heated kiss and ran his hand down my side to the waist line of my tights. My entire body felt like it was on fire as my fingers tangled themselves in Derek’s hair and he growled lowly into my mouth before he pulled away from my lips to place a line of wet opened mouth kisses down my jawline.

I was breathing heavily as I moaned in ecstasy as he playfully nibbed the sensitive skin under my jaw and I shuddered underneath him as I titled my head back against the mattress to give him better access to my skin. I reached down to the hem of Derek’s grey tank top blindly as I gasped in pleasure and he easily eased away from my throat to lean back as he ripped the shirt off over his head.

My hands instantly ran up his muscular chest as he smirked at me seductively before lowering his lips back down to skin and he grinned against my skin as his teeth grazed the base of my neck.

I shivered in bliss as his teeth gently pressed into my skin without breaking it and I felt my whole body shutter underneath him as he sucked a little on the skin above my collarbone.

One of Derek’s hands moved upwards a little too cup my breast in one hand as he kissed his way up to my lips before attacking my mouth with his and I moaned into his mouth as his tongue wrapped around mine in a fight for dominance. His thumb soothingly brushed against skin over my black lace bra as he tenderly kneaded my breast one hand while reaching up to cup my cheek with the other and continuing his attack on my lips with as much passion as he could put into one gesture.

He pulled away from me once more as he growled lowly and I moaned at the absence before he reached down to pull my shirt off over my head in one swift motion. My hands greedily roamed his muscular bare back as I seductively grazed my perfectly manicured finger nails down his and he shuddered on top of me as I bit his lower lip in between my teeth.

Derek’s fingers tangled into my long brunette hair as I moved my mouth away from his lips and left a trail of opened mouth kisses down his throat as I grazed my teeth against his skin. I lost myself in Derek’s touch as his hands roamed my body and I couldn’t help but think about how much I needed this at the moment.

Everything going on at the moment had made me incredibly stressed and sex was the perfect way to relieve my restlessness.

“Sophie!” Lydia exclaimed excitedly as I entered her house as though I lived there and I smiled back at her brightly as she came rushing at me.

“Lydia! Happy birthday!” I told her earnestly as I wrapped my arm around the strawberry blonde tightly and she giggled happily as she pulled back from me. She pursed her lips thoughtfully as her light green eyes raked over my outfit appreciatively.

“I love your dress.” She said finally as she nodded at my dress in approval with a smile and I chuckled lightly with a thankful smile as she dragged me further into the house. “Don't forget to try the punch.” She ordered me with a smile as she pointed a finger at me and I nodded to her as I looked around the nearly empty house.

I watched as she sauntered away in complete ignorance and felt my forced smile falter into a frown as I bit my lower lip. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my brother and Stiles standing near one of the couches so I made my way over to them.

“Hey, guys.”

“Hey. Have you seen Jackson anywhere?” Stiles asked me as I leaned my hip against the edge of the couch arm Scott was sitting on and I took the cup out of Stiles hand.

“No. I’ve been with Derek’s pack all day. Preparing for the full moon.” I half lied with a shrug as I sipped with punch from the plastic cup and immediately started coughing because of the horrid taste. “Oh, my god. That’s disgusting.”

“I haven’t seen Jackson either. Seen Allison?” Scott asked moodily as he took the cup out of my hand and took a sip of the bitter liquid. I scowled at the mention of Allison’s name because I was still kind of pissed that she told her family that Jackson was the kanima.

Plus, there was the whole thing about her mother trying to kill Scott the night before at the rave but Scott had begged me not to say anything to Allie about it.

“No, but we should probably tell her what we found.” Stiles answered slowly as he looked around the empty house for the brunette hunter and I sighed as I took the cup back out of Scott’s hand.

“I'm still kind of not sure what we found.” I said with a confused frown as I raised the cup to my lips and took another sip but immediately started spluttering. I pushed the plastic cup into Scott’s hands as Stiles and Scott both looked at me in concern as I coughed. “Don’t let me have that again. What the hell is in that?”

“Are you okay, Soph?” Scott asked me in concern as he rubbed my back soothingly and I nodded shakily as I wiped the tears out of my eyes.

“I figured out the murders have something to do with water. You know, the fact that all the victims were on the swim team, the way the kanima reacted around the pool.” Stiles informed us slowly as he leaned in as though someone was going to overhear us and I raised an eyebrow at him because no one else was here.

“So whoever's controlling the kanima really hates the swim team?”

“Hated the swim team. Specifically, the 2006 swim team. So it could be another teacher. Maybe like a student back then. I mean, who are we missing though? What haven't we thought of?” the human asked all in one breathe as he squinted his eyes in thought and I patted his head patronisingly as I stifled a laugh at his expression.

I heard Scott’s heartbeat increase slightly so I looked at him with a quirked eyebrow but his gaze was locked on something over my shoulder. I turned my head around to see what he was staring at and saw Allison making her way towards us so I frowned slightly as she stopped next to Stiles.

“Uh, Jackson's not here.” Allison stated the obvious as she glanced around the party and I immediately scowled at her when she said my best friend’s name.

“Why? You waiting to kill him?” I asked her scornfully as I tilted my head in mock confusion and she turned to look at me with a small frown on her lips.

“Yeah, no one's here.” Stiles said plainly as he looked around the empty house and I sighed in sympathy for my best girlfriend because it wasn’t her fault what was happening to her.

“Maybe it's just early.” Scott suggested meekly in a voice that suggested even he didn’t believe his own words and Stiles gave him a disbelieving look.

“Or maybe nobody's coming because Lydia's turned into the town whack-job.”

“Well, we have to do something, because we've completely ignored her for the past two weeks.” Allie said in a helpless voice as she

“Speak for yourself. Lydia and I went shopping two days ago.” I snapped at her with a tight smile as I crossed my arms over my chest and she glanced at me with wide dark brown eyes that made radiated hurt.

Normally, I would’ve forgiven her instantly but I was still reeling from her telling her family about Jackson and the full moon wasn’t helping my attitude.

“She's completely ignored Stiles the past ten years.” Scott interceded before Allison could respond to my taunting and I rolled my eyes subtly at him comment even as I smiled slightly because it was true.

“I prefer to think of it as me not having been on her radar yet.” Stiles corrected him instantly as he rubbed the back of his neck and I chuckled lightly as I pushed myself of off the arm of the couch.

“Oh, sweetie.” I cooed at him with a mocking frown as I wrapped an arm around his shoulders and he pushed me off of him with a fake offended expression.

“We don't owe her a party.” Scott said firmly as he looked at us all in turn with a stern expression and I shook my head at him as I got my phone out of my purse.

“Okay, here’s what we are going to do, and no arguing.” I told them as I pointed a finger at Scott when he opened his mouth and he instantly snapped it shut with an audible click. “Scott, you’re going to use your co-captain status to get the lacrosse team here. Now.” I ordered him with a quirked eyebrow and he nodded at me with a slightly apprehensive expression as he got his phone out. I turned to face Allison with a blank expression as she smiled at me slightly and I bit the inside of my cheek to remind myself to be nice for Scott and Lydia’s sake. “Allison, you have Danny’s number, right? Text him and ask him to come to the party. He has a lot of sway within our school.” I told her as politely as I could and she nodded rapidly as she got her cell phone out of her purse. I finally turned to face Stiles with a smirk on my lips and he shifted on his feet in anticipation as he licked his lips nervously. “Stiles, call Carmen and the girls. They’ll know how to get this thing going. Like, really going.”

“Who?” Allison asked me in confusion as Stiles nodded frantically while digging in his pocket for his phone and I smirked in amusement as he looked at the other brunette.

“I met them the other night. Let's just say they know how to party.” Stiles answered her with a small smile as he dialled number and then held up a hand to stop her from saying anything as he put the phone by his ear. “Carmen, baby, I need a favour….” He trailed off as he strolled away from our little group and I shook my head in amusement as I looked down at my phone.

I clicked on the contact I wanted as I leaned back on the couch arm and let my gaze wander to where Lydia was standing by herself across the pool.

“Hello?” a familiar greeted me curiously  through the phone and I immediately stiffened slightly as I put on my best queen-bitch attitude.

“Hi, Mackenzie. I have a message for you to send out. Anyone not at Lydia’s birthday party tonight is going to want to transfer schools. This is the party of the year and nothing is going to change that. Get everyone here, or answer to me. You have twenty minutes until I start planning and you know how devious I can be. Tick-tock.” I said into the phone in a voice dripping with false sweetness but with an undeniable undercurrent of authority before hanging up without another word. I sighed heavily as I rubbed the bridge of my nose and only then did I notice the incredulous stares that Allison and Scott were giving me. “What?”

“It’s just I’ve never seen you use your popularity before. You’re normally so sweet and calm.” Allison replied softly with a slightly confused look on her pretty face and I smirked at her as I stood up straight from the couch.

“You’re still new, Allie. Lydia is the bitch, beauty and brains and I’m the sweet, sexy and smart.” I told her as I tilted my head to the side with a confident smile in place and she nodded hesitantly with a slightly nervous gleam in her eyes. “We’ve been best friend’s still elementary school. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her. There aren’t many people I would say that for.” I said honestly as I let my smile falter so that she could see the sincere behind my words in my eyes and I heard her heart rate exhilarate slightly.

I smiled at her once more as I started walking passed her and I heard her suck in a breath as I turned back around to face her once I was a few feet away. “Oh, by the way, Jackson is another person I would do anything for. Die, kill, carjack. You name it.” I told her with a threatening edge to my voice even though I kept a smile on my lips and she stared at me with wide dark brown eyes as I turned back around.

I smirked at myself proudly as I sauntered away from her and saw that people were starting to arrive at the party. The loud music was pouring out of the speakers into the backyard as I walked out into the fresh air and I smiled over at Lydia who was offering glasses of punch to party goers.

“Well, well, well. There is she.” A familiar male voice called from behind me and I froze in shock because that voice was not one I expected to hear at a teenage girl’s birthday party.

I knew that my eyes must have been as wide as saucers as I swallowed roughly and slowly turned around to face the middle aged man with dark brown hair like my own.

“Dad.” I whispered as I stared in shock at my father and he strolled towards me with a stern expression but no one else seemed to find it strange that a strange man was in the middle of a party.

I hadn’t seen my father in over two years or spoken to him in one so seeing him standing in front of me had made it nearly impossible to speak coherently.

“Sophie, my daughter, what a disappointment.” He taunted me with a mocking frown on his face as he slowly approached me and I stiffened at the insult as I watched him warily. “I mean, you don’t think this people actually like you, do you?” he asked me as he gestured to the people wandering by us without blinking an eyelash and I looked around silently as tears filled my eyes. “Why would they? Lydia is the genius, Jackson is the athlete. Allison is a hunter. Scott is the leader. But what are you?”

“I’m a werewolf.” I whispered defiantly as I turned to glare at him but he just laughed my comment away and began walking slowly around me in a circle with his hands behind his back.

“You may be a werewolf but so is Scott, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, Derek. What makes you so special? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”

“That’s not true.” I declared softly as I looked down at the ground so that he didn’t see the tears his words were building in my eyes and he sighed dramatically as though I was been purposely stupid.

“Really, Sophie, even your own father didn’t want you. Why would anyone else? Is that why you sleep around? To try and get someone to care about you?” he asked me mockingly as he leaned down to whisper in my ear and I flinched away from him as my breathing quickened. “Is that why you become attached to any man you gives you the time of day? Peter, John, Alan. Is it working?”

“Stop it.” I whispered firmly in demand as a few tears ran down my cheek and I reached up to brush them away with my hand roughly. I closed my eyes tightly as I shook my head slowly and clenched my hands into fists at my sides. “Stop it. You don’t know me. You know nothing about me. I am loved by Scott and mom and Jackson and Lydia. I don’t need you. I’ve never needed you.”

“Sophie!?” a familiar voice called out to me from behind and I opened my eyes as I spun around to face my best friend.

Jackson frowned at me in concern as he walked over to stand in front of me and cupped my face with both of his hands as he wiped my cheeks gently with his thumbs. “Why are you crying? Are you okay?” he asked me in concern as he searched my face for answers and I nodded shakily as I threw myself into his arms.

He immediately wrapped his arms around my waist as we stumbled a little under my weight but he just held me close to his body as I cried into his chest and he rubbed my back gently.

“Tell me you love me.” I ordered him in a small voice as I pulled back from the embrace to look at him and he frowned at me in confusion as he ran his hands up and down my arms soothingly.

“I love you.”

“Good. Okay. Thank you.” I said as I nodded jerkily with a sigh and looked down at the ground in embarrassment over my outburst. Jack tilted my head up to meet his teal eyes as I sniffled slightly and he cupped my cheek with one hand as he intertwined the other with mine.

“Aren’t you going to say it back?” he asked me jokingly with a slightly offended expression and I laughed feebly as I reached up to cover his hand with mine.

“I love you, Jack.” I told him honestly as I smiled at him slightly and he smiled back at me as he pulled me closer to him so that our foreheads were touching. His thumb ran over the back of my hand as I closed my eyes and I felt him press a gentle kiss to my temple as he pulled back.

“You going to be okay?” he asked me as he placed his hands on my shoulders and looked me directly in the eye as I smiled at him reassuringly.

“I’ll be fine now. I promise.”

“Alright, I’m going to go get something to drink. Call me if you need anything, okay?” he reminded me sternly as he pointed a finger at me and I held my hands up in surrender as I nodded.

Jackson looked at me for a minute as though judging whether it was a good idea to leave me or not but I just gave him a gentle push towards the house. He nodded once as he leaned in to give me a kiss on the cheek and I smiled at him as he walked passed me into the house.

I took a breath to calm my already frazzled nerves just as I heard my cell phone beeping from inside my purse so I pulled it out with a frown. I looked at the screen to see that I had a voicemail from Derek and immediately held the phone to my ear as I began walking towards the house slowly.

Sophie, can you call me back? I'm probably gonna need some help. Definitely gonna need some help.” Derek said through the phone in a calm voice but I could hear the distant clanging of metal and growling so knew that one or more of the Beta’s had escaped the confines he had set up for them. I mentally swore to myself as I hurried into the house to find Scott to tell him I was leaving and looked around wildly for him or Stiles.

“Stiles, look at me. Drink the water. Stiles, drink it. Something's happening, and I need you to sober up right now. Come on, Stiles.” I heard Scott saying so I ran in the direction I heard his voice coming from and saw him crouched down next to seemingly asleep Stiles by the edge of the swimming pool.

“What do you think you are doing? You want to sober him up fast, that's not the way to do it.” I scolded him as I approached him with a scowl on my lips and my brother look up at me with a raised eyebrow.

“You can do better?”

“I can do everything better than you.” I teased him playfully with a wink as I crouched down next to him and he rolled his dark brown eyes at me with a small smile. I smirked to myself as I reached forward to grip the back of Stiles shirt before pushing his head towards the edge of the pool and his head went under the water. I immediately pulled him back up as he spluttered in shock and gasped for breath as I let go of him with a smile. “Whoo! How do you feel?”

“Like I might have to revisit my policy on hitting a girl.” Stiles told me heatedly as he glared at me and shook his head like a dog even though he had no hair to get wet in the first place.

“He’s sober. And delusional if he thinks he can take me on.” I told them with a smirk as I stood up and straightened out my dress before I reached down to offer my hand to Stiles. He gripped my hand as I helped pull him to his feet and Scott stood up on his own as I playfully pinched Stiles cheek. “Alright, you two, stay out of trouble. I have to go help Derek with his Beta’s.”

“Are you going to be alright on your own?” Scott asked me in concern as he placed a hand on my arm to stop me from walk away and I smiled at him in reassurance as I nodded my head.

“I’ll be fine.” I said to him as I squeezed his hand comfortingly and smiled at them both as I extracted my arm from his hold. “Oh, um, if Lydia asks where I went, can you please tell her I hooked up? It’s the only excuse she’ll tolerate for missing her party.”

“Oh, god, Sophie, I don’t need that mental image.” Scott complained as he grimaced in disgust and I laughed at his expression as I pressed a kiss on his cheek before sauntering out of the party.

 ...........

I got to the abandoned train depot as fast as I could when running and I heard the loud clang of metal combined with animalistic growls as I rushed towards the noise. I saw silhouettes of the Beta’s in one of the trains so I rushed forwards and saw Derek being attacked by Erica at one end of the car while Isaac held Boyd by the throat against one of the seats.

Isaac seemed to have Boyd under control so I rushed over to Erica and Derek to help the Alpha. I let my werewolf features surface from within as I growled loudly and gripped onto Erica’s long blonde hair with my clawed hand.

The Beta growled in pain as I kneed her in the back and she feel to the ground on her knees as Derek sighed in relief that he wasn’t being attacked. I slammed Erica’s head into the metal pole next to us and she immediately slumped unconscious onto the floor at my feet.

I sighed in relief as I let my werewolf features retract and Derek groaned in as he struggled to his feet because of his injuries. I quickly stepped over Erica’s unresponsive body as he leant on the seat beside him and I grimaced in sympathy at the bleeding wounds on his abdomen.

“You okay?” I asked him as I carefully helped him stand up on his own and his handsome face twisted into a grimace of pain as he nodded.

“Yeah, I’m healing already. Can you go help Isaac while I get Boyd and Erica?” Derek asked me in a strained voice as he sat down on the seat and I glanced over my shoulder to where Isaac was still struggling to hold a thrashing Boyd.

“Crap. Got it.” I told him as I let go of his arm and rushed over to the seat where Isaac was holding down the other Beta.

Isaac glanced over his shoulder at me as I approached him and I smiled slightly in pride that he was controlling his bloodlust unlike the other two. Boyd bared his teeth at us as he thrashed wildly with a growl and I immediately drew back my fist before punching him in the face as hard as I could.

His eyes rolled back into his head as he collapsed back on to the seat in unconsciousness and Isaac sighed in relief as he let go of Boyd’s shoulders.

“Thanks for the help.” Isaac said breathlessly as he slumped slightly against the pole behind him and I looked over at him to see that his werewolf features were still completely surfaced but he was in control.

“No problem.”

“Move it, you two.” Derek ordered us walked over to where we were standing and I looked over my shoulder at him as I stepped back so that he could pick up the unconscious Boyd. I glanced down at the Alpha’s ripped grey wife-beater that was covered with blood and pursed my lips thoughtfully as he threw Boyd over his shoulder effortlessly.

“Hey, Derek!” I called out to him as he walked towards the other end of the train car where he had already re-chained Erica and he placed Boyd on the ground before turning to face me with a raised eyebrow in question. “You look kinda hot covered in blood.” I said teasingly with as I smirked saucily with my head tilted to the side playfully and Isaac choked out a startled chuckle as Derek smirked back at me.

“Help Isaac.” Derek told me pointedly as he bent down to chain up Boyd and I rolled my eyes at him subtly before I turned to face Isaac with a smile. I linked my arm through Isaac’s as I lead us towards the front of the train car and he let my drag him down onto one of the seats so that I could keep an eye on him.

“I think you'll be okay now. Looks like you found an anchor.” I said happily as I crouched down next to him with a smile and he looked at me sadly as he sighed heavily.

“My father.” he informed me quietly as he turned his head away from me and I frowned at him slightly as I tilted my head to the side.

“Your father locked you in a freezer in the basement to punish you.” I reminded him kindly in confusion as I placed my hand on his arm and linked my hand with his in silent comfort because I could only guess how hard it was for Isaac to speak about his father.

“He didn't use to.” Isaac told me softly as he looked straight ahead without blinking and I nodded in understanding with a sage smile on my lips. He sighed a little as he looked down at his feet and squeezed my hand gratefully before he met my eyes with tears in them. “Derek's anchor is anger. Scott's is love. What's yours?"

"Myself." I stated quietly as I looked down at the ground and then back up at him to see the confused expression on his face. "I know that sounds selfish, and maybe it is, but thinking about how much I would hate myself if I accidentally hurt someone, it's what keeps me focused. I hate feeling out of control. I need to be in control. Even when I was human. You know me, Isaac, I’m incredibly stubborn. I’m not going to let the moon dictate how I act.”
