i strongly believe that kourt is a lesbian and she came out a long time ago so yeah. gonna use some of that here. also gonna skip most of the getting ready parts

also, i changed everything to homecoming because apparently prom is at the end of the school year so ya. except for the poster because idw redo it lol

_magic time skip to whenever homecoming came_

Nini's POV:

Kourtney and I were in my room, changing into our dresses for homecoming and doing our make up together. She didn't have a date because she rejected the guy who asked her out. He seemed pretty upset but he kinda should have seen it coming. Kourt came out as a lesbian like 2 years ago.

However, she still wanted to know what it was like so she was going to third-wheel me and Ricky during the dance. Honestly, neither of us really minded since she's my best friend. well that and she said that "when Ricky and you(me) are having a 'moment', I'll(she'll) mind my(her) own business". Her words, not mine.

Anyway, there was about an hour left till Ricky was coming to pick us up and we were busy rushing everything.

"Kourt, how do I look?" I ask, coming out of my toilet and twirling around to show my dress to Kourtney.

i think i have a crush on her T.T^^

"NEENS THAT DRESS WAS LITERALLY MADE FOR YOU" She squeals. I smile as a thanks before I start tying my hair. She gets up with her dress and goes in to change.

When she steps out, I'm about to scream. "KOURTNEY THIS DRESS IS PERFECT! YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL!"

"Thanks nee" She smiles and starts working on her make up. "Alright now let me do yours!"

After about 45 minutes of squealing and working on our outfits, we hear the doorbell ring. Oh my god! That must be Ricky!

"Kourt how do I look?" I started panicking. "Do I look okay? I didn't show Ricky the dress I was going to be wearing because I wanted it to be a surprise. What if he hates it? What if our outfits didn't match. I used a little more make up than usual today. What if he hates that?"

"Nini!" Kourtney shook my shoulders bringing me back to reality. "You look beautiful babe. I'm sure Ricky will be speechless when he sees you. If he hates it for some reason, there's something very wrong with him."

I took in a deep breathe and shook my head. "Yeah. I-I'm sure you're right. Sorry I just got a little panicky. Thanks Kourt"

"Anytime Neens" She smiles before we hear my moms call us down. "Now, I think there's a certain someone waiting for you downstairs. Well he's waiting for me too but y'know"

I smile as we grab all our things before heading down.

Ricky's POV:

I take in a deep breath and knock on the door. Mama D opens the door with a warm smile. "Hey Ricky. Come on in! The girls are upstairs getting ready!"

I thank her and step inside the house. Mama C calls for Kourtney and Nini and I hear them shouting that they're on their way or something. First, Kourtney comes down the stairs and I wave at her. She stands next to me and I quickly whisper to her. "You look really good!"

What? There's nothing wrong with complimenting her. We're friends. Friends encourage and compliment each other. She smiles and says a quick thanks before facing me. At the same time, Mama C calls Nini and I can hear her footsteps slowly descend down the stairs.

I give Kourtney a confused look and she quickly says, "Look. I know you and Nini have been dating for a few months already but I never managed to have this conversation with you. If you hurt Nini, I will hurt you. Anyway, look here she comes."

I nod, slightly threatened by her words, before turning to face the stairs. When Nini reaches the ground, I'm speechless. She's so.. stunning. And beautiful. The dress fits her perfectly and oh god I'm going to have a nosebleed if I don't stop staring.

"Hi" She says shyly and I can't keep my eyes off her. How did I get such a beautiful girlfriend? 

"Uh- H-hey" I managed to say as she runs to hug me. 

"You look. WOW" I whisper into her ear causing her to giggle. I was wearing a simple black suit and felt so 'underdressed' next to her. 

"Alright! Pictures everyone!" One of her moms says but I don't know who because I'm too focused on Nini. I don't move and Kourtney has to snap her fingers in front of me to bring me back to Earth. I apologise as we all start posing for photos. First Nini and I take a few, then Kourtney joins in. Then Nini and Kourtney take some together.

"Alright. Make sure you're back by latest 10. Okay?" Mama C says.

"Of course." I smile as we all get into my car and I drive them to school. Yeah it's a short walk away but it's homecoming! 

When we reached, we realized we were a little late but it's fine. The school gymnasium had been decorated by streamers and balloons with a huge disco ball hanging from the middle of the ceiling. There were tables at the sides of the gym with chairs around. We spotted the rest of our friends so we went there to place our things down.

We nodded at them before the emcee made an announcement. 

"Hey y'all! Hope you're having fun! If you're here with a date, do nominate yourself for favourite couple! Later on, we'll reveal a QR code. Scan it to vote for your favourite couples to be crowned homecoming couple! You have one vote only so make sure you choose for the couple you think have been the most lively and fun today! Results will be announced at 9" The girl, I think she was a junior named Kate. Then, a teacher whispered something in her ear and she nodded. "Also, if anyone has seen Samantha May's purse, kindly return it or deposit it at the lost and found over at the back of the gym thank you. NOW EAST HIGH! LET'S MAKE SOME NOIIIIIISE."

Everyone cheered as "What makes you beautiful" by One Direction starts playing.

"Wanna dance?" I put my hand out for Nini and she gladly takes it. She pulls herself up and we walk to the dance floor. We saw Carlos and Seb dancing away in the center of the dance floor with other people around them, either dancing along or cheering them on.

We start bopping along to the music and cheering Seblos on. Then, the chorus comes on and everyone's on their feet dancing.

Carlos and Seb are practically jumping around now. They kept pointing at each other at the parts which said "You don't know you're beautiful" and my Seblos heart was beating so fast. These two are just too cute.

When the next song, Counting Stars, came up I realized I had lost Kourtney. I looked around before spotting her talking to Samantha.

Kourtney's POV:

When we were all dancing along to "What Makes You Beautiful" I noticed a purse lying around. I picked it up and upon further examination, I realised it was Samanthas'.  I scanned the room and saw her at the corner of the gym. She was searching under the tables and chairs and looking really frantic. So, I approached her to return it.

"Hey. Samantha?" I asked. She shoots me a quick smile before going back to searching for, I assume, her purse. "What's up"

"Um hey. I found your purse over at the other side of the gym." I say and her head immediately shoots up. She notices her purse and I quickly hand it over.

"Oh my gosh. Thank you so much Kourtney!" She quickly grabs it and hugs it. When she noticed the confused look I gave her, she explained "It's just. My dad passed away when I was really young and the last picture I have with him is in this purse and don't judge me but when I lost it, I felt like I lost a piece of myself."

"I understand. And I'm so sorry for your loss" I said, not knowing what else to say. We just sat there in awkward silence till she spoke up.

"Hey are you here with a date?" She asks and I shake my head. Why was I being so shy and quiet in front of her? "Me neither. Do you want to like hang out for a while?"

"Sure. Wanna dance?" I ask.

"Oh.. I don't really dance." Samantha says.

"Come on! It'll be fun!" I hold her hand and pull her to the dance floor. For some reason, I thought she would like pull her hand away but she didn't. 

"Fiiiine" She says reluctantly but I notice her trying to hide a small smile.

Surprisingly, she didn't even let go till we found a spot. "Born to be Brave" starts playing and Samantha gasped. "THAT'S MY FAVOURITE SONG!"

"No way! Me too!" We squeal together. We start dancing and fooling around. We talked a lot and got to know each other a lot better. I realised how much we had in common and really enjoyed her company. 

"Wanna take a break?" Samantha asks about a hundred songs later.

"Sure!" We went to the snack and drinks table to get a lemonade. I took in my surroundings and saw Carlos and Seb still dancing. How much energy do they have?

"Ko." Samantha says after taking a sip from her lemonade. I look at her confused. "New nickname for you. You're honestly such an amazing person. How do you not have a date?"

"Oh um. Actually a guy did ask me but I'm a lesbian so I rejected him." I explain. "Didn't wanna you know, play with his feelings or something"

"No way! So am I!" Samantha said and I stared at her. "Wait. Are you for real?"

"Yeah. Girls are so much better. Guys are so lame" She says sarcastically and we both start laughing. 

Then, a slow song starts playing. I look around and see Seb and Carlos have calmed down a little but are still waltzing around with loads of energy. I notice Nini has her arms around Ricky's neck and he's holding her waist. She has her eyes closed and her head is against his chest. They are moving around slowly. I look around some more and see Red and Ash, Ej and Gina and a bunch of other couples in the same position.

"Uhm. Do you wanna dance?" I hear Samantha say.

"No. I mean yeah no. No like I would like to dance with you but I don't know how. To waltz I mean" I stutter when her face falls.

"Neither do I heh. I thought you would know and could teach me" She laughs before a smirk spreads across her face. "Do you wanna ditch this place and go to a mall?"

My face immediately lights up. I nod and we grab our things before messaging Nini and leaving for the mall.

(the mall was pretty deserted so no one really cared that we were both in dresses and heels)

Nini's POV:

When the slow song comes on, I glance at Ricky and he has hand out. "Can I have this dance?"

"I didn't know you were such a gentleman Richard" I place my hand at my mouth in fake surprise.

"There's a lot you don't know about me" He tries to say in a deep voice but it cracks instead, causing me to laugh. He sighed and shook his head but there was a huge smile plastered across his face.

"By the way, I don't know how to waltz." He admits shyly.

"Neither do I. But it's worth a try isn't it?" I say and he nods.

We go near the dance floor and I feel his hands wrap around my waist respectfully. I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my head against his chest. I close my eyes and listen to the sound of his heartbeat fasten. I giggle as we start swaying along to the music.

When the song is finally over, we pull away and our faces are inches apart. Ricky's face is flushed red but I'm sure mine is too. We lean forward and the space between our lips are sealed. I hear cheers from around us and someone even wolf-whistles but I can't be bothered. All I can focus on is the kiss. It's like most of our other kisses- soft and gentle but also full of passion. But for some reason it was different. I don't know why but it just was.

We pulled away and lean our foreheads against each other. It's easier this time for me since I'm wearing heels and don't have to tip-toe.

"I lo- like you so much Ricky" I say and he smiles back before pulling me in for another kiss. We're interrupted by the sound of Mr Mazzarra coughing.

"Look kids. You're cute and all but please, no PDA" he said and we broke apart blushing.

"Hey exactly what I say every time I catch them making out!" EJ shouts from the crowd. I hear his water-polo teammates snicker followed by Gina smacking his arm and him going 'ow'.

I look at Nini and she's blushing like a beetroot. I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her towards me and she buries her face in my side.

"Yeah. We understand and are so sorry" I apologise on both our behalves as she nods her head.

"Ok.... East Hiiiiigh! I will be projecting a QR code on the screen behind me. I want all of you to scan it and vote for the cutest couple or the couple you think has been the most fun and lively tonight!" Kate says.

We pull our phones out and I notice Kourtney's text.

"hey. I left to go to the mall with Samantha.
hope you dont mind
tell Ricky I said thanks for the drive earlier
text me once you reach home and spill any deets :DD
ok gtg
love you"

I showed Ricky the texts and we both smirked knowingly. We then scanned the codes and looked through the options though I already knew who I was going to vote for- SEBLOS.

After about 10 minutes, Kate started talking again. "Alright East High. The votes are in! The winners are... drumroll please.. CARLOS AND SEBASTIAN! Can you two please come up to the front to collect your crowns!"

The entire gym burst into applaud as the 2 made their way to the front. They wore their crowns before everyone started chanting "Speech! Speech! Speech!"

"Hey everyone! Thanks so much for voting for us! Um yeah. That's my speech hehe" Seb went first and we all cheered.

"Oh my god you guys. I'm going to cry." Carlos said, pretending to wipe tears away causing everyone to laugh. "Thank you so much. That's all I can say."

The applause soon died and a soft slow music started playing. I talked with the rest for a while before Ricky said we had to go.

"What's the rush bubs?" I asked.

"I promised your moms I would have you home by 10. That's 10 minutes away." He pointed at the clock.

"Aw ok. Bye you guys. We'll see you next week!" We waved and left. We drove back to my house in comfortable silence. When he pulled into my driveway, we got out and he held my hand to the door.

"Hey neens? Thanks so much for coming with me today. It was kind of the first time I ever went to homecoming." He says shyly.

"It was a pleasure being able to go with someone as amazing as you" I reply truthfully.

We leaned in for another kiss. This time we weren't interrupted but pulled away on our own.

"Good night baby" He says and goes back to his car. I go back inside the house and watch his car pull out from the driveway and away to his own from the window.

I take a quick shower, message Kourtney who doesn't reply, then go to sleep with a big smile on my face.

whew that was a long chapter. no time to double check sorry
also i have to go back to school, again, for the same reasons as last week so no updates tomorrow!
