Visitation In The Night

Yami's P.O.V.

It was the middle of the night when I was awoken by a strange sound. It was sort of like a rustle of leaves as a gust of wind came by, only louder.

I sat up and looked around. Jay and Alia both decided that they should take the kids, so I got the night off, which was why my two companions weren't around.

And at the foot of my bed was a crying figure. He was translucent, but clothed in white. In fact, in the dim light he seemed to wear the exact clothing that died in the day before. His hair also seemed to be the familiar tri-coloured star it was.

"Hello?" I asked the figure at the foot of my bed. He turned hia head, and I gasped. It was Yugi! And he was crying.

"Yami, I-I w-was only a-allowed to visit o-one p-person, b-before I-I was s-sentenced to the r-rest of my d-death down there. I-I chose y-you to t-tell you t-that m-my d-death w-wasn't your f-fault!" He sobbed and leaned over to me, and I trapped him in my embrace. However, my arms just slipped through him. He only sobbed harder and solidified into a semi-translucent apparition.

"Sorry! F-forg-got I w-was a g-ghost!" Yugi said, in between sobs. I just let him cry for a few minutes, until he stopped, and just quivered every so often. When he looked up at me agqin, his normally perfect amythist eyes glittered in the moonlight seeping throught the tent.

"Yami, I came to warn you not to try and save me. They want you, not me, and so they won't be very fair in the trade. It will probably be me for you, and I can't ask you to sacrifice yourself for me. It wouldn't be right. Go down and get Duoturn, but don't bargain for me. You could lose your mortal body!" Yugi said, his voice rising until at the end he was yelling.

"If I lost you because you sacrificed yourself for me, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself! I would be worse than you are now!" Yugi continued. I stopped him.

"Fine, I won't trade myself with you, okay? I will promise on anything," I said, and looked at him. He looked back, his eyes still full of tears. It hurt whenever I saw them.

"Swear on the River of Death, or the River Awesteros. Then I will believe you!" Yugi cried, sounding like a little kid.

"I swear on the River Awesteros that I won't go and save you from the Queen of Death," I said solemnly, my fingers crossed behind my back. Yugi smiled a small smile.

"Good!" He said, and hugged me again. I could feel his warmth seeping into me. It felt right. It was like everything in the world was fixed, and we were reunited once more.

Then suddenly, Yugi started to glow. The light brightened more and more, and I heard the last words I would hear from Yugi for a while : "I love you, mou Hitori no Boku."

And then he was gone. I still felt his weight in my lap, but he wasn't there to fill the gap that had reopened in my heart. Yugi was gone. And I was going to get him back.

Chapter 3. I am sorry that we had such a sad scene, but I think it will get better. Also, I think this book will be twice the length of Saving A Hero because the have to go back through the forest and everything. Stay Happy!
