Ellina's P. O. V

I glanced at the very back of the class Rue was leaning back slightly on her chair with her arms folded making her look careless and unruly . She keep her face straight, seemingly not in a particularly good mood. Her taut jaws , coupled with sharp eyes looking ahead in a cold manner was enough to drive anyone away.

Well it's been 2 days and I still haven't talked to her after that day, mainly because I don't know what to say and it seemed like she is really mad at me.

Okay! I did try to talk to her one time. I must add that it did not go well, with a resign sighed I gaze at her with my hand supporting my head.

I play with the pencil on my hand, my eyes widen in shock when she sudden gaze back at me. I quickly turn away when a brown orbs found their way to mine.

I feel my face warming up, I sneakily turn around to look at her again after a while, and found her still looking at me without even bothering to hide it . After that I didn't turn my head for the rest of the class, being caught red handed twice is quite enough . Can it be more embarrassing? I just want to dig a hole and buried myself in it.

The cold gaze on me was particularly blood chilling, it felt like my blood is literally freezing.

Well, I didn't go to the library after school anymore. Firstly I don't think she will be there, secondly, I really don't know how to face her if she happened to there. Thirdly, intentionally or not I've been instinctively avoiding her. I can't be blame though, if you were me you would already fly off to Neverland.

, " I'll be distributing your maths test paper now. " I was woken up from my reverie by Mr. Winston's loud shout. Groan filling the entire room.

Nervousness filling me up bits by bits, not only will this be important because of the mark , this will also affect the extra credit work. It's only 10 marks and yet we do 2 whole chapters , and don't get me even started on how strict he is.

Actually, I've never been this nervous about a paper. It's just that I can't help but be worried about Rue.

I tapped my left fingers on the table, a habits that I had. Suddenly a warm hand held my hand," Jesus!why is your hand so cold? " Jess said holding my hand.

I feel a piercing glare thrown my way, a chill run down my spine, " Really?" I say quickly taking my hand out of her hold and placing it on my face .

, " Yes, it's freezing cold " I smile a little at her, placing my hands on my lap.

I can't stay still there either, I keep on squeezing both my hand together.

, " Ellina Sidra, " when my named was called I quickly stood up and get my papers.

Mr Winston look at me for a while and at my paper again, did I score that bad? I think that I do quite well. I feel my heart dropped in my stomach, awkwardly standing in front of his table I feel like time had slowed down. Every second had become a year.

, " Great job! " when a smile suddenly broke on his face, I was so scared that my knee almost gave up on me. Secretly, hoping that no one see me now.

He gave me my paper and I managed to score 9 , okay, why do you gotta looked act like that? Can't you just give me properly?

After giving out another dozen of paper it was finally Rue's turn.

, " Okay, class listen. " his sudden talk make the chattering sounds quite down , the class finally turning their head backs preparing to check their answers again with their friend's in case Mr. Winston make a mistake and possibly could score better.

, " In the whole grade only Ms. Bennett managed to score a full mark. " I'm shocked but also not shocked remembering Rue capabilities. She is definitely a genius, she had high intelligence, logic and high comprehensive ability .

But, all the class is definitely more shocked. The sound of a pen hitting the ground filling the entire class, it was dead silent, "Clap your hands! Why do you all looked like you are seeing ghosts? " all this time Rue stand there, not a hint of nervousness or restlessness showing on her face.

After his words fell the class was filled with the thunderous sounds of clapping hands.

That kinda hurt my ears though, I kept looking down at my hand on my laps not looking up even once to looked at her when she walked back from the teacher's table . She paused for a short while besides me like 3 seconds or 2 . But, I didn't lift an eye when she walked passed me and back to her seat .

Third Person's P. O. V

Rue sit back on her seat, her hand crumbling the corner of the paper, trying her best not to burst right then and there.

She had been waiting, waiting in the library for her after school or even during lunch, even then she never see her again or get the chance to talk to her alone.

Her guts is telling her that she is deliberately doing all this, ignoring her. Rue's mouth feel bitter, lamenting that if only she knew why she was angry . This kind of situation make her extremely helpless and defeated .

There was a slight fear in her heart, what if she..... she was quick to pressed down her conjecture that was making her unsettled.

She quickly packed up her things when the class was nearing its end , watching the the time trickled by. A certain someone may not be willing to make up but she do. She will willingly retreat.

Rue isn't even aware that she is slowly retreating, compromising for her a thing she had never done for anybody.

She got up along the loud bell , ready to stopped her and talked to her regardless of what.

Ellina quickly got up and walked out of the classroom unwilling to bear the gaze any longer. She just want to get out, it felt so suffocating.

Rue slung her bag on her shoulder, ready to run after her, " Miss Bennett please wait. " she almost shout back at him in frustration, what now? She control herself and turn back stiffly. Straining her neck watching her walked away helplessly.

, " I've always known that you are a really good students, you have a good capabilities . If you put in more effort I can tell your future will be boundless. "

, " Remember work hard and don't slack off. This is a crucial part for your future, try your best so you don't regret it later. " Mr Winston say taking off his glasses and placing them in the table.

, " You should be aware that women like capable person, one who will be able to protect and a person they can rely on. " hearing his words Rue show a rare flustered expression , her face shown a barely discernible pinkish color .

, " It... It.... it's not like that. " she close her eyes scolding herself mentally, she instinctively want to explain but she could barely form a word.

Mr Winston laughed at her state and patting her on the back , picking up his books from the table, " I hope you will be able to keep up with the good work. "
He is not against a student being in a relationship on the account that it didn't affect them in a negative way.

, " It's really not like that. " Rue still persist.

, " Child I was not born yesterday. " the way she looked at the new girl is like a lovestruck fool, he let out a sigh. She also only improve since they are together as study partner, as a good teacher he looked at each student's improvement and try to help them do there best in their studies. So, he is glad when one make an improvement.

After that he leave, Rue walked out defeatedly having missed the chance to stopped her.

Lunch break*

After eating to her full Ellina walked back to the classroom having nothing better to do , to just sit there.

What she didn't expect was that this annoying person would be present!

, " Tyler give it back to me. " referring to the book that he holding high in the air.

No matter how much she wants to deny it,she is unable to reached the book. She barely passed his shoulder .

, " Nope. " he reply making a messed of her hair with his free hand, with a teasing smile.

Well, that's how the struggle ensued. Ellina try her best to get the book back while Tyler keep it in the air above his head , she will not be this angry on a normal day but she is in no mood to mess around these days.

With an amuse smile Tyler wrapped his hand around her small waist to keep her in place and stopped her from jumping any longer.

Both of them stopped when a hand suddenly snatched the book from his hand. Tyler paused and looked back, his smile slowly fading when he saw Rue's cold eyes and taut jaws .

Ellina slowly retreat from his embrace, not knowing why the atmosphere become suddenly so heavy.

She looked at the two people stuck in a deadlock , Tyler was the first to move his eyes away. Only then did Rue looked at her.

Holding her wrist Rue loudly put down the book on her table and pulled her out of the classroom.

When Tyler looked like he was about to stopped her, Ellina shake her head at him signalling him to stopped. Despite looking like he wants to follow he honored her wish and stopped.

After that she turn towards Rue, who looked ahead , tightening her holds on her wrist. Rue leads them to a more secluded area, when it looked like she was planning on going deeper, Ellina finally take action , she walked faster to catched up to her, when she finally did she hold Rue's arm with her other arm. Rue did not shake her off despite her anger, she also slowed down her pace a little to match Ellina footsteps.

, " Rue..., " hearing her soft voice Rue's ears tremble a little. But, it was not enough to pacify her .

Ellina pulled her to stopped, free her wrist from her hold and quickly intertwining Rue's fingers with her slender ones.

Rue finally stopped , looking at Ellina like waiting for something. Ellina feel confused and amuse seeing such gaze, like a small animal proudly demanding to be coax .

Ellina turn her face away to hide her smile, caressing Rue's hand to placate her .

Rue fully turn her body and standing face to face with her, her burning stare boring into Ellina's.

, " Not enough, " she mumble under her breath, her soft touch was not enough to satisfy her desire, in fact it ignite the fire in her heart. Making her want more.

Rue take Ellina hand from her hand and placing them on her cheek, she leaned in to her touch feeling her soft hands on her cheek. Her eyes never once leaving Ellina's face, she missed her. Really missed her touch , voice, her laughter, she missed everything.

Cause even if she is a few feets away she never feel more distant, like she had lost touch with her. That feeling make her panic and scared.

Today morning she was hoping that she would atleast cast glance at her for a short while, when she didn't there was a sense of crushing defeat and disappointment .

She opened her dark eyes remembering the scene just now. Just recalling it is enough to make her sour.

Her blood boiled remembering seeing her in that man's embrace, she had never been this agitated, she really wanted to beat that man to the pulp. If she wasn't present she would have done so.

, " Don't I deserve a congratulation? " her eyes unconsciously begging Ellina, she didn't have that proud and arrogant air around her, just humbly asking for a praise after all the hardwork . Her eyes casting downward in disappointment when her request was followed by a long silent.

Ellina didn't know what had gotten into her, she stand on her tiptoe wrapping her arms around Rue's shoulder and placing a kiss on her cheek. She stay there for a little while, composing herself. Her hand balling a fist trying her best to control herself.

Rue wrapped her arms around her waist, feeling something fluttering in her chest. Trying her best to keep the corner of her mouth from rising .

Her eyes darkened slightly, biting her lips feeling her soft chest pressed against hers , she really wanted to pulled her closer to herself.

Ellina move away with a radiant smile, her arms still wrapped around her shoulder, " Congratulation! You even did better than me. " she really wanted to kiss her at that time , so much so that she almost lost control. She searched her eyes for any hint of disgust or anger , she let out the breath that she was holding when she found none, her tight nerves relaxing slightly .

Well, I really don't planned on publishing this month but i unexpectedly write one and now I'm publishing it.
