An idea I had in the van

Sorry for the mistakes (if there is some), I wrote it on my phone while in the van.

They were running out of time.

The timers had been counting down too fast for the two to disable them.

Now, they're close to either success or to death.

Seconds away it seemed.

"I think I'm close!" The girl exclaimed into the earpiece.

"I think I am too!" Came the reply from the other end. A male's voice holding frustration and fear.

The girl was scared. She wasn't afraid of her own life, but her friend's.

He was unconscious in the corner, close to death from the unforeseen wounds.

If only she had been faster. The one she had met a few days prior wouldn't have had to go to such an extreme for the others.

Maybe he had the key to save everyone...?

"Try harder! We're close, I know it!" The girl shouted in uncontrollable fear.

She really did fear for the one she met only days ago...but it felt like they had known each other for a lot longer.

"I am!" Was the rushed reply.

Saving a life wasn't as easy as it seemed. The girl really wanted to give up and leave the situation, but her gut told her if she wanted to help people, she needed to do things that aren't always comfortable.

The girl hated her gut.

A groaning noise could be heard. It came from the corner, the girl didn't pause. She knew it was him, probably groaning about how he lost everything. She hated him for giving up on everything.

Being in this line of business, you have to suck it up and see things in a different perspective.

The girl truly wanted to smack him.

"I think he's awake." She commented.

"Good. If you can, smack him." The reply made the girl smile.

She wanted to laugh, but it wasn't a good situation.

That's how far I had gotten.
