ch. twenty-eight

after wooyoung showered in the athletes' locker room and changed into his track team jersey, that evening he sat with his friends on the basketball court.

after winning several medals for the school and because their school basketball won second place, wooyoung plans with his friends to support san's school.

wooyoung waved at his all his friends and took a seat next to yeosang.

in wooyoung's hand was an energy drink that he was always seen drinking during training. he had time to buy at the school store before he entered the court.

yeosang looked at wooyoung's hand where he was holding the energy drink. "isn't that what san drinks during training? are you gonna give that to him?"

wooyoung slightly frowned when yeosang also found out that san drank the energy drink during training but he let it go. "yep!" he said, popping the p.

"he gave me my favorite energy drink after i finished the track. i'm doing the same because he gave me a lot of pep talks before i competed." wooyoung smiled. "if he doesn't give it to me i will still give him his favorite drink."

yeosang rolled his eyes and yunho who heard wooyoung's words looked at him. "simp." he said, giggling at wooyoung's face

"i know right? they're so cute and it's disgusting." yeosang added. he and yunho high-five each other.

wooyoung playfully rolled his eyes. "jealous assholes."

yunho nudged yeosang. "speaks of san, here he comes."

wooyoung turned towards what yeosang and yunho look and saw san walking towards them.

san wears tight sports pants matched under black shorts. he wears his short-sleeved school basketball shirt with an inner shirt inside. he looks so effortlessly handsome and attractive it hurts wooyoung.

not wanting to embarrass himself in front of the other students around him, wooyoung grinned at the taller ravenette cheekily. "are you ready?"

"i am so ready!" he replied enthusiastically. cute, wtf?

wooyoung let san receive words of encouragement from his school friends while he processed what happened.

yeosang pointed at wooyoung's shoulder gently, "don't you want to give san before he starts?" he whispered into the younger's ear.

right. i almost forgot about that.

when san moved to stand with wooyoung to absorb the smaller's positive energy, wooyoung held his hand and stood up. he looked at wooyoung confused.

wooyoung didn't say anything because he could feel many eyes watching him, so he gently pulled san's hand out of the court. "wooyoung?"

after they were outside, wooyoung turned to face san like how he faced the younger when he sent him home. "are you okay?" san worriedly looked at wooyoung. wooyoung nodded his head as an answer.

the younger then slowly walked towards san and hugged the taller. "you know, i'm not good with words right?" and san hummed.

wooyoung stopped hugging san and smiled a little. "i'm not good at giving words and pep talk like you did so brace with me. i want to try because you gave me a lot this morning."

san frowned. "you know i don't want to force you right?"

"i know, but i wanted to."

"wooyoung─"

"you can do it. i know you'll win this. even if you're not the same school as me, i don't care, because i cheered for you. you know i believe in you, right?" when san nodded, he continue, "so i believe you can do it. you always can. i believe in you."

"wooyoung─" he blinked his eyes and then he smiled widely at the smaller. "thank you for trusting me."

the smaller hugged san's neck and the taller hugged wooyoung's waist in instinct. "i'll always trust you." he mumbled. "even with my life."

wooyoung loosened his grip and kissed san's cheek. "good luck kiss." he said, giggled after seeing san's cheeks heat up. "you're cute."

"oh let's get back in. i believe your coach is searching for you."

wooyoung held san's hand and gently pulled him into the court. when he got to his seat row, that is in front row, wooyoung let go of the older's hand and leaned in to whisper to his ear.

wooyoung don't know what ghost possessed him so much that he became brave. wooyoung grinned. "if you win..." he poked san's chest coyly. "i'll let you take me out to hangout again. or maybe... a date."

his eyes widened and his cheeks reddened again. the younger chuckled and pulled his hand and put an energy drink in his hand. "you can do it. i believe in you."

as in on cue, san's basketball coach calls him for the last briefing and wooyoung pushes the older gently towards his coach before he smiles at the athlete. "now, go."

wooyoung returned to his seat next to yeosang and immediately his friend's eyes fell back on him. "what?"

yunho blinked his eyes. "what was that..?"

wooyoung raised an eyebrow. "what do you mean 'what was that'? it's a pep talk." he said. "just like he did to me."

yeosang snorted. "oh come on, we all know you don't do 'pep talk' because you often uncomfortable with people. even with us."

"well i did a pep talk. only with choi san." wooyoung rolled his eyes. "now shut up, the game is about to start."

"geez... fucking hurt me."

yunho playfully nudged yeosang and pointed at wooyoung. "biggest simper." yeosang laughed with yunho and nodded his head, agreeing with the older.

wooyoung likes san and he hopes san knows how he feels about the older. because he knows through his behavior that he also likes wooyoung. he just wants to take time to get to know san and become comfortable with him before he confess his feelings to the older.

if san can't accept his feelings, for him, it's okay, because time is a healer. even though it will take so much time, wooyoung will try to move on.

but if san accepts wooyoung's feelings and is vocal with his feelings, wooyoung will promise to be good because he has never been in a healthy relationship with anyone. and he hopes he can have a healthy relationship with san.

the whistle was blown right after san gave his team three points with a goal from far into the basket. san's team members shouted and rushed towards their leader for a hug.

there was a sweet smile on san's lips as his eyes shifted towards wooyoung and their friends but his eyes lingered on wooyoung longer. they all clapped their hands while standing, shouting and yelling happily for san's victory.

wooyoung smiled happily and his eyes only focused on san with an i-know-you-can-do-it look causing san to laughed at the expression. san smiled back at wooyoung as a thank you.

that night they once again gathered for dinner at a bbq restaurant like the first night they celebrated yeosang and hongjoong's victory.

they were sure the workers at the store were disgusted to see their faces that always appeared to celebrate their wins.

oneshot glasses filled with sparkling water once again clang as they cheer for wooyoung and san's victory that day and the two people who were celebrated looked at each other with a big smiles.

while they were all eating and talking to each other, san scooted closer towards wooyoung. the smaller put down his oneshot glass and looked at san.

"so... i win." san smirked at wooyoung. "is the promise you offered are still open? because i'd like to take you on the best date ever."

"of course." wooyoung's face was red from embarrassment but he was getting used to san flirting because he also gave san cheek kisses a lot. "where do you want to take me on a date?"

san shakes his head at the younger. "if i told you, it wouldn't be a surprise. and i want to keep it a surprise."

wooyoung sadly pouted but nodded his head nonetheless causing san to chuckled. "oh don't be sad. i'm sure you'll love it if i keep it as a surprise."

"fine."

the taller ravenette reminds the younger. "after this dinner, i'll send you to your front door." and wooyoung nodded his head again.

"you don't have to, it's not your duty. but sure. thank you, sannie."

san crossed his arms on his chest. "i insist and it is my duty now." wooyoung look down to his lap and silently smiled.

jung wooyoung, you are so adorable and it makes me sick.

i think i've fallen for you all over again.
