Y/n,

I'm not going to have you call me an asshole again for not wishing you a Merry Christmas, so I'm writing you this mostly as a safety measure.

I assume you're spending Christmas with the Inkwood's again, so I guess you can wish Wren one as well. If you're staying with the Weasley's instead, I'm officially retracting my letter completely, and you're not allowed to read any further.

Anyway, it's been a relief to get away from Hogwarts for a while. You have been extra annoying those last few days. Though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it; Miss you.

Knowing you, you probably didn't even notice the little extra weight in the envelope. So have a look, dumbass.

I rolled my eyes reading the last line, putting the parchment aside to grab the black envelope I had placed on the coffee table in front of me. The big grin spread across my face since I read the first words of his letter.

I fumbled with the envelope slightly, not getting a proper grip on the small object inside before simply turning it over and having the 'little extra weight' fall into my opened palm.

I put the now empty envelope down to admire the object in my hand cautiously.

A beautiful silver ring, way too big to fit on any of my fingers, hanging around a silver chain. I picked the necklace up with my other hand, letting it dangle from one of my fingers to admire it further.

I twisted and turned the thick silver ring in-between my fingers-two beautiful small crystals in the centre of it. D.M. engraved on the inside, though it was almost not noticeable due to how faint it had become over the years.

I kept the necklace in my hand, closing my palm around it to make sure I wouldn't drop it, and picked up the letter again.

Mother got me a few new rings as an early Christmas present. She's been wanting me to replace my old ones for a while now. So, I thought my favourite one would look prettier around your neck. I've been wearing it for years, you better not lose it.

If it's not my hand wrapped around your neck, at least a piece of me always will be now.

Merry Christmas,

- Draco M.

PS: If you're not wearing it once I see you on the train, I'm never speaking to you again.

I didn't think it was humanly possible, but the grin on my face grew even wider as I read the rest of his letter.

Suddenly, it felt surprisingly hot in the room, the cold from earlier all forgotten about as I read the words over and over again.

If it's not my hand wrapped around your neck, at least a piece of me always will be now.

Was that what he liked? His hand around my neck? I smirked slightly, my empty hand patting both of my warm cheeks in an attempt to cool them down. I don't think it was working, to be honest.

My attention fell back onto my closed hand, opening it slowly and revealing his necklace again. I quickly opened the clasp of it, struggling to close it behind my neck for a bit, but managing after all.

Once it was securely hanging around my neck, I played with the ring. Twisting and turning it again, admiring the crystals, all the while wondering what made him send it to me in the first place.

And then worrying about what to get him in return. I was so relieved worrying over Christmas presents was done now, and just like that it began all over again.

I sighed, my hand gently wrapping around the ring while I closed my eyes.

I was so deep in thought, I almost didn't notice when somebody entered the room and only snapped my eyes open as they sat down on the couch next to me.

"What's this, then?" George asked, amused, holding the letter in his hand and teasingly waving it in front of my face, pulling his hand away whenever I tried to grab it.

"That's private!" I groan, still trying to get the piece of parchment out of his clutches. But the word private only had his eyes grow wider in excitement as he jumped up and began reading.

Fred disappeared from next to me and immediately reappeared next to his brother, beginning to read as well.

I groaned, falling back into the couch and clutching my hands over my face, waiting for the horror to be over. There was no way I would get the letter back from them in one piece if I tried to tear it away from them, so I just gave up.

"Ouch," they uttered simultaneously after a few seconds, probably having read the second paragraph. When I looked at them, they both still had the same amused smile on their face, though.

It was quiet for a while, Fred being the first to cheer a loud "Ooooooh!" and George chiming in about halfway in. "Kinky," one of them said before they suddenly both appeared next to me again.

One twin giving me a wink, the other wiggling his eyebrows on either side of me. I groaned once more, grabbing the pillow from behind my back and burying my face in it, hoping they would stop soon enough.

"Come on, Y/n," They cooed, still a hint of amusement in their voice. "So you got to third base already? Impressive," Fred said, nudging my elbow with his to wind me up even more.

I immediately lowered the pillow to eye them both; my eyebrows raised slightly at his words. "No," I simply say, shaking my head to clarify.

"No?" George asked, a little surprised by my answer.

"Not even second base," I shrug before shaking my head vigorously to stop myself from continuing this conversation. "Not that that's any of your business!" I blurted out, raising my hand to silence them whenever they wanted to pick up the conversation again.

"You're either changing the subject, or I'm leaving," I proposed, snatching the letter out of George's hand and folding it to place it back in the envelope.

"Fine," They both sighed amused, rolling their eyes playfully before making fun of Ron and his Yule Ball outfit again. The topic still came up at least once a week and was definitely a conversation I could get behind.

A/N: If anyone cares, that's the way I imagined the ring! Though feel free to make up your own version of it ofc
