Chapter 4: Royal Ball Suprise

Edited 2022: Hey guys! So if you guys have been here way before I started to rewrite just wanted to tell you guys that I'm going to slightly change the plot. It's still gonna have the original plot, but I'm going to go change it a little to make it better and interesting, as well as to make it have more common sense. I noticed that my eighth grade self was going somewhere throughout the story but the dialogue and scenery made no total sense, so here we go. Hope you guys enjoy this and I love to hear your thoughts about this! So don't hesitate to comment! Anyways on to the story!

Enjoy mis Corazones!

(Y/N's POV)

After hours of getting my hair and makeup done by my favorite stylist, Lorena, she sees that my attire is laying neatly on top of my bed so she walks towards it. I get up from my vanity chair and start heading towards my bed, standing next next to her. She caresses the dress and smiles brightly at me, in which I return it as well.

She looks at me and nods in the direction of the dress while asking, "Do you want help with getting this dress on?"

I look at my dress for a few seconds and then look back at her. "Well, since you are here and you offered; yes I would like some help, please."

She nods her head and starts helping me with the dress, carefully grabbing it from my bed. After a few minutes of getting it on, without making it have wrinkles, Lorena grabs my shoes and hands them to me. I give a small 'thank you' and grab them from her, putting them on. Once put on, I go to my vanity and grab the jewelry that I placed not long ago, and put them on, looking at myself in the mirror for guidance. I see that after I put my second earring on, Lorena had my crown, holding it with both of her hands, and walks in front of me placing the crown carefully on top of my head as well as making sure that she doesn't mess up my hair which she took hours styling.

Now that I'm all dress up, I look at Lorena and see her smiling at me. She nods her head at my full length mirror and I make way towards it to see the final results of many of hours of getting ready for the special event tonight.

(This is just a suggestion, you guys can imagine the dress, the color, and everything else. Also not my images!)

Looking at my self in the mirror, I can't do anything but smile at my reflection. Evey detail, and work effort put just so that I can look perfect for tonight was all because of my amazing, talented, and favorite stylish of all, Lorena.

I turn around looking at her with a bright smile, and hug her while saying, "Thank you so much." We pull slightly away so that we are at arm length. "You knew you didn't have to do any of this for me. Yet you came, all the way from New York to be specific, and helped me just for tonight."

"Hey, it was no biggie. I will always be happy to help you. Also, wait, how did you know I was in New York before I got here?" She ask as we fully pull away from each other and she starts putting makeup brushes, makeup, and other stuff she used away.

"Oh, I follow you on Insta and other socials that you have. Not in a stalking way, of course." I reply while helping her put away some of the supplies that were laying on top of the vanity.

She laughs at my last sentence, and says, "Of course I know, you've always been there supporting me ever since we met."

I nod my head with a smile and finish helping her putting the last few things that were left. Once, everything is placed and put away, I look at Lorena and ask, "Are you going to be attending the ball tonight?"

"Yes, I will be. I wanted to make sure that you were ready before I got ready myself for tonight."

I smile at her and embrace her in a tight hug since she's always been so caring with me. "Thank you for always being there for me, even if majority of the time it is at events like these and such." I say as we pull away from the hug.

"Anytime, Señorita! You are and will always be the little sister that I've always wanted. So remember, that if there's anything that you need or that you want to talk about, you can always count on me. Okay?" She assures holding both of my hands. I nod my head and she gives me a kiss on my forehead. Letting go of my hands, she walks to a box that has a neat bow on top of it, and she takes a beautiful aquamarine colored dress out of it. "Is it okay if I get ready here?"

Translation: Señorita - young lady

"You don't even have to ask. You can use anything you need; after all, you spend hours standing on your feet to help me get ready." I answer while walking to my balcony wanting to get some fresh air. She answers with an 'Okay, thank you!' and then a hear the bathroom door close. I place my hand on top of the railing and breath in the fresh Paris air while watching the sun set and the moon rise.

Hours later, Lorena was done getting ready and we just talk for a bit until I hear a knock on my door and then the sound of footsteeps, "Y/N, are you ready, cariño?"

Translation: Cariño - Dear

Lorena and I get up from my couch and walk towards the door seeing both of my parents in front of it. They look at me and smile very bright.

My mother walks to me and caresses my cheek with a warm smile. "You look gorgeous, mi corazón."

Translation: My heart - my heart

"Gracias, Mamá." I thank smiling back her. I look at my father and ask, "Is it time?"

Translation: Gracias, Mamá - Thanks, mom
Translation: Mi corazón - Sweetheart

"Yes, it's time." He affirmed stading next to my mom and places a hand on her shoulder. I nod my head in understanding, and wave at Lorena to start heading to the ballroom with us.

After a few minutes of walking, as well as having some casual conversation, we are stading in front of the door of the ballroom and Lorena heads inside, not before giving me a huge hug and then one group hug to both of my parents, since they are like a parent figure to her, though that's a story for another day.

My parents look at each other with a small smile, and then at me. My father holds my left hand and and looks at me while saying, "Before we head inside, I want to tell you a little of what this whole situation and this moment is all about. Y/N, do you remember that one conversation that we had when you were young and we had the Agreste over as well?"

I look at him with a confused look until my heads clicks at the sudden memory. "Oh. . . That moment is today, isn't?" They nod their heads with a guilty glance, I look at the floor for a few seconds and then give them a small smile. "Well, I guess you guys should head inside. After all, the guest are waiting for the both of you."

"Right. Also, thank you for understanding, corazón. I know that at the current age you are at the very moment, this shouldn't be something that you should be going through." My mom tells me while caressing my cheek and gives me a kiss on my forehead, my dad doing the same thing after her.

"It's fine. This has been planned for years, so I understand. Plus, I know you've both been through this as well."

"Yeah, we have. Well you know your cue to enter, right?" My dad ask while holding out his arm for my mom to take, in which she does, and I nod my head. "Well, we'll see you in a few minutes." With that, they enter the ball room to get the ball started.

I pace back and forth, to shake out the nerves, and while doing so I see, "Felix? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be waiting inside the ballroom?" I question making my way to him, and give him a hug, which he returns. As we pull away from each other I see his attire from top to bottom.

(Not my image!)

He smiles at me and the first thing that he says makes my cheeks warm up, "You look ravishing. Also, they told me to make my way over here and escort you to ballroom."

"Thank you. You look handsome, yourself. And I'm thinking it was our parents?" I guess, which he nods with a small chuckle.

He lends his right arm to me and I hook it with my left one, my hands placed on top of it, while giving a 'Thank you' to him. The double doors open to reveal the astonishing decorations of the ballroom. Felix and I look at each other, and with a nod of our heads we start walking inside the ballroom. As were descending our way on the stairs, claps could be heard all across the room, and as we pass through the path way people would bow/curtsey in respect.

We stopped walking when we stood in front of Gabriel and Adrien Agreste. I see Adrien have fainted blush on his cheeks when he looks at me with a smile. I smile back at him with a small giggle, and while holding my hand he bows in which, slightly at the same time, I curtsey with him. I do same thing with Mr. Agreste, and then Felix lend me his arm again so that we can walk towards my parents, and stand on the small throne. We both to show our respects to my parents and then stand next to them on the throne.

My parents smile at us and we smile back, and my dad announces, "Now that both of them are here, the event shall start!" There was cheering around the whole area and the music started playing, making people start to pair with each other, even the children.

"Would you give me the very honor of having the first dance with me?" Felix asks putting his hand out in front of me. I smile at him and grab his hand while nodding my head. People start making a pathway for us as we walked and we ended up in the middle of the ballroom.

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

(I know they use this commonly but I thought it would be cute)

After the dance was over, the people that were on the dance floor disperse and new people went to dance to a new upcoming song. Felix and I went back to our parents who are are having a subtle conversation and as we get closer to them I noticed that it's not just my parents, Gabriel, and Adrien who are huddle up on the throne but my my older brother, sister in-law, and twin nephews are here as well.

I speed walk towards them, and I think my brother noticed since he got his arms wide open. As soon as I'm there, I wrap my arms around his neck while he wraps his arms around me and twirls me around in place. At the same time I hear him say, "Hermanita!"

Translation: Little sister!

When I was placed on the floor, I give a hug to Elenore and as soon as I pull away I feel two different pair of arms hugging me. I look down and see my two nephews George and Gerald, so I bend a little to meet them at their height and hug them both with kisses while giving them that aunt love.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so happy that you guys are here tonight!" I exclaim while both of my arms are wrapped around the twins.

"Well, we were not going to miss our sister's special day! Plus, George and Gerald wanted to see their favorite aunt." Derek says with a smile while wrapping an arm around his wife's waist.

I give both of the twins a small squeeze with a smile, in which they do it back, and tell them, "Aw~ That's sweet you guys. Also we haven't each other in four years! These two have grown so much! You both were only bebés last time I saw you."

Translation Bebés - Babies

"We know Tia Y/N." Gerald says looking at me with a smile.

"We are actually happy to be here as well, Tia Y/N!" George adds as he holds my hand with a bright smile.

Smiling at the twins, they start talking about what they have been doing throughout the years that we haven't seen each other. Things such as royal events that have been happening in Nalia, activities they been interested in, as well as a school for royals in which they tell me all about their studies and friends they have.

After a few minutes of the boys talking, catching up, Elenore looks at her kids and says, "Boys, your Aunt Y/N has other people to talk to as well. Plus we are staying after the ball anyway, so you can talk to her more later."

"Wait- You guys are staying after the ball?" I ask with a smile.

But before Derek could answer my dad walks up to him and whisper something to both Elenore and him. They both smile and nod at him, so he walks away not before giving me a kiss on the forehead as well as a warm smile before heading back to my mother and Mr. Agreste. Derek looks at me with a smile and says, "Well, I'll answer your question later since your special moment is on its way." I feel the twins squeeze my hands in excitement, making me smile and give a small giggle at them. "George, Gerald, come on, Abuelo wants us all to gather together."

"Sí, papá." The two five year-olds respond in sync. I embrace them all in a group hug and after we release, both Derek and Elenore give me a kiss on my forehead in a sisterly and brotherly way.

Translation: Abuelo - Grandpa
Sí, papá - Yes, dad

With that, they start heading to the area where my parents, Mr. Agreste, Adrien, and Felix were at; but when they do, Felix seems to be excusing himself and heads my way. He extends his hand to me with a smile, which I take with no hesitation and with a smile back as well, and when I do he leads me to the center of the ballroom gaining the attention of everyone in the room.

"Y/N, ever since we met as children, you always believe in my goals, what I wanted to do. I know that we haven't been in contact for years, due to some circumstances, but I made a promise to you many years ago and I'm showing you tonight that I am definitely keeping that promise. Therefore, Princess Y/N of Nalia, will you make me the happiest man on earth and be my wife?" Felix proposes with a warm smile while getting down on one knee and pulling out a ring that's placed in a velvet box.

Tears had already been streaming down my face ever since he started his beautiful speech. I look at my family and see that they have smiles, and some tears, though when I looked at Adrien he gives me a small smile but his eyes are telling me a whole different story. All I see is sadness. Making a mental note that I'll ask about it to him later, I look at Felix with a bright smile and say, "Yes. . . Yes!!! I would love to be your wife."

People all around the ballroom started to cheer!

Felix gets up from kneeling with a bright smile on his face, and places the ring on my finger. After he does he pulls me into a hug, and while doing so, we hear the guest chanting, "Kiss her! Kiss her! Kiss her!"

I look around the ballroom and then at the floor with flustered face. I hear Felix laughing, so I look up at him to see him already looking at me. Warmth blossomed in my chest, sparks igniting as Felix leaned in close, lips brushing together, tentatively, for the first time. The smell of his cologne, of the aromatic, minty scent of his conditioner, was dizzying, butterflies were dancing in my stomach. But warmth consumed me as Felix leaned into the kiss, his lips impossibly soft against my own. As we pull away, our foreheads are placed on top of one another as well as my eyes slowly fluttered open and cheering could be heard all around the room as Felix and I smile warmly at each other.

After the special event tonight was over, all the guest had left the premises except for the Agreste gentlemen. My parents and Mr. Agreste had come to terms that they would stay the night so that Felix and I could 'enjoy' our first night as a newly engaged couple. They also thought Felix and I should sleep in my room to get use to the feeling of being around each other, and so here we are. . . getting ready for a goodnights sleep. Thank god that it was the weekend. I'm currently getting ready for bed while Felix is reading a book in my-. . . Well, our bed? I'm still figuring that part out. As I'm done doing my night-hygienic routine, I walk out of my bathroom to hear some knocking on the door. Making my way to the door, I open it for it reveal my twin nephews, Gerald and George.

Smiling at the both of them, I ask, "Is there anything I can help you with, handsome gentlemen?"

Hearing giggles coming from them, Gerald looks at me with a small smile and answers with, "Yes, Aunt Y/N. George and I were wondering if you could read us a bedtime story?"

"Of course I can. It's been a while since I have read one to the both of you." I respond while nodding my head indicating for them to take me to the dorm they're staying at.

"I am allowed to join? I would like to hear my fiancée read a bedtime story to her nephews." A voice says from behind me, making turn around and smile at Felix.

"Only if you read to us a bedtime story too." George negotiates holding his hand out to him while smiling innocently at him.

Felix smiles at the five-year old and shakes his hand while saying, "Deal."

I grab both of the twins hand and say, "Well, let's get moving! We don't have all night."

With those words, we closed the door to my room behind us, and start heading to the dormitory that George and Gerald are staying at. After the ball, my brother answered that question that he never could due to the event that took place tonight, and so he said that they are staying about a week or so meaning that I get to have a lot of fun with my nephews.

As we are walking through the hallways, we see that B/M/N is walking in our direction - and you never know if they have something really important to inform - so we stop just for in case. She/He was waking sure that we were doing okay and if we needed, in which we didn't, so we tell her/him and she/he nods her/his head taking her/his leave.

We enter the boy's room and they start running to one of the full-size bed, which has a seat next to it. In between the beds was a bookshelf full of stories, but what I didn't notice was that both Gerald nor George chose a book for the bedtime story.

I see that Felix is sitting on the seat next to the bed so I playfully say, "Hey! I was gonna call first dibs on that!"

The boys stared laughing as Felix started to tell me, "We can share. That's if you are up for it."

Nodding my head, I sit on Felix's lap, slightly blushing, as he wraps his arms around me, and I ask the boys, "Well, what story am I reading tonight, Traviesos?"

Translation: Traviesos - Mischievous boys

"We want you to create a new story!" George exclaims jumping in his spot on the bed excitedly.

"Wait. . . You want me to tell you guys a story from scratch?"

"Yes, Tia Y/N!" In sync they both shout. Then I hear Gerald saying, "You have the most creatives story according to papá."

George nods his head in agreement, but very fast, making him mumble out, "Woah. . . I'm dizzy."

I laugh while placing my hand on the back of his head so that his dizziness will calm down, and start the story with, "Okay then. Once upon a time. . ."

After the twins were asleep, Felix and I headed to, I guess, our room and got ready for bed. Once we were laying on the bed, the sound of thunder could be heard from the outside, making my muscles tense in slight anxiety. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and I turn around to face Felix, to see him warmly smiling at me.

CRACK!

Another sound of thunder erupts, making me bury my face into his chest. I can feel his hot breath near my ear as I hear him say, "It's okay. I'm right here. . ." He starts soothing my hair and hums a lullaby that his mom use to sing to us when we were children. I smile to myself and I hear him chuckle, "I can feel you smiling."

I giggle a little and I feel my self start to dose off into the world of slumber. . .

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘🖤☽༓☾🤍∘∙⊱⋅•⋅

My dreams started to randomly fade as my eyes slowly start to flutter open. I feel a pair of arms still wrapped around me, remembering that Felix, Adrien, and Mr. Agreste are staying the night, and check the time seeing that it is four-thirty in the morning, plus it is still raining outside. I hear a small ringing sound and see that it is coming from my miraculous ring. Not wanting to wake Felix up, I quickly, but swiftly and quietly, take Felix's arms off of me, and in a quick pace tip-toe to my balcony.

When I close the door behind me, I look down at my ring, seeing that it was Chat Noir calling, making me confused as to why he is calling at this time of the night.

I whistle a series of notes, which is a secret call between Yin, Yang, and I, and I see two kwamies floating in front of the balcony door. I open it, and while doing so Yin ask, "Is everything okay? You only call at this time of the night when something isn't."

"Actually, I don't even know myself either. The miraculous started ringing, so I went to check it out to find out that it's actually Chat Noir calling me." I explain while placing my hands on top of the railings, leaning against it with some of the water droplets sticking to my hands, facing the siblings.

Yang looks at us with a tired and annoyed expression and ask, "Does that mean you're gonna tranform?"

Yin and I look at each other with a knowing look, and she nods at me, making me respond with, "Yes, I'm going to transform to see why he is calling me. But tonight it is going to be Yin's turn at the transformation so that you can rest." He nods his head in understanding, and I take that as a signal to say the magical words to transform. "Yin, Lunar-Eclispe on sight!"

With those magical words, the transformation is on session. Both Yin and Yang get sucked into my ring although Yin is the one who is on command, special powers wise though, and my charcoal colored hero suit comes on. Also with a two-in-one whip, that looks like an actual Yin and Yang, that I have on my right side of the waist in which I can turn it into any other weapon I desire. As well as a special effect that turns my eyes two different shades of blue depending on which kwami is being on use. In this case since it's Yin, my eyes are navy blue.

As soon as the transformation is over, I use one of my two-in-one whips and start swinging to the location Chat Noir send me, and yes in the rain. The weird thing is that the location is at the roof where the ballroom is located. It's only a few windows away from my room, so I only swing up and run to that area of the roof.

When I get there I see Chat Noir sitting at the edge of the roof, therefore I make my way towards him and sit next to him. "I thought cats didn't like water, Gatito."

"Oh! Hey. . . Uh, I was patrolling before the rain started and then after some time I decided to just. . . I don't know, have some time to think." He responds looking at me for bit before he looks down at the garden that's being watered by the rain.

"Is there a reason why you called me?" I ask shifting my sitting position a little so he can see that he has all of my attention. His face shows like he has hesitation on the telling me that's something is troubling him. I place my hand on his shoulder and reassure, "Hey. If there's something that's bothering you, you know you can count on me for anything, okay?"

He nods his head and takes a deep breath in before saying, "Well, this one best friend of mine ,who just arrived to Paris yesterday, just got engaged to another friend of mine, and when the event happened it felt as if a knife was stab into my heart."

"Oh. . . Gatito, I'm so sorry. How long have you known your best friend?"

"Well I've known her for more than a decade. Both of them actually; and to be honest, the whole engagement thing had been arranged for years by their parents." He explains looking down at his feet, water droplets falling down from his hair.

"Therefore, they actually don't love each other? Have they even dated before?" I ask him, looking at his green cat-like eyes. This whole story is giving suspicions as to if I know Chat in real life. I already have felt some sense of familiarity when I first met him.

He shakes his head while saying, "No, they've never dated before. And when I saw them at the engagement ball tonight, they seemed happy, but not like. . . that sparkle of happiness in their eyes when they see a person they love."

I nod my head understanding his explanation, and say, "Ah. . . I know what you mean." I take a pause debating if I should tell him my side of this story but with a few minor changes so I don't reveal myself. After taking my decision, I tell him, "Look, this friend of mine, she also got engaged not long ago, and it was the same way your friends did. An arranged engagement by their parents. The guy she has to marry has a brother, who's also her other best friend, and the thing is that she told me that the guy who she is actually in love with, is that best friend. The brother who she's not going marry."

"Well, is she gonna do something about it?"

"See, my friend is scared that if she says or do something about it, that it would break the friendship between the families. So she prefers to let it role. Plus she doubts that the best friend would return her feelings so that's another reason for her to keep the engagement going." I explain, adding on to how I actually feel. While I explaining, I was looking down at the garden view in front of us, some tears threatening to spill out but I held them in.

He places a hand on top of mine and gives a reassuring sqeeze. I squeeze it back with small smile and lay my head on his shoulder, feeling him place his on top of mine. We stay like that for quite a while, not a single word to each other, just comfortable silence between the two of us. Just the sound of falling water dropplets. Whenever thunder would strike, I would get closer to Chat, but other than that it was such a peaceful moment. We left once we notice how late it was getting and so we took our leave. And that is how our nights was, the night I got engaged.
