Sunny Ride

"Hehe, Midori, don't I look cute?" I grinned as I twirled around in my outfit. Midori just stared blankly. "I don't know... But I guess you look good in anything..." he said nonchalantly.

I pursed my lips, but then smiled. "That didn't help, but thanks anyway! We should head there now, we're gonna be late!" I spoke.

"Well, if we're late, it's probably because you were taking too long to choose an outfit...." Midori muttered, but of course I heard him. I pouted. "Alright, I'll be more prepared next time. Let's go!" I pulled his hand and we left the house after saying our goodbyes to Midori's parents.

After a bit, we arrived at the amusement park nearby and gathered at the stage there with the other RYUSEITAI members.

Chiaki was the first to notice us. "Oh! Takamine! (L/N)! Good Afternoon!" he waved energetically. Beside him is Kanata, also waving slowly at us. Tetora and Shinobu are also already there.

"Hello, (L/N)-senpai! I can't believe you actually accepted our offer to perform with us! This feels really exciting!" Tetora exclaimed. "Yes! It will be an honor to perform with you, (L/N)-sama!" Shinobu smiled.

I smiled at them. Yes, I will be performing with them today. RYUSEITAI had recently held a hero show here, and since it was very well received, they were invited to do a performance this time. To make it different, Chiaki even invited me to perform with them as a special guest.

"Looking forward to working with you guys! I've been practicing hard for this!" I beamed. "That's great~ hardworking people are very nice~" Kanata interrupted.

"I'm glad you're all very excited for this! But actually, even though we were told to gather here early, we still have 3 hours before the performance. I thought we had to set up the stage, but the workers already did it" Chiaki told.

I glanced at the stage beside us. It is decorated with colourful, hero-themed stuff. "I noticed it too. There are a lot less props since it's just a performance this time" Tetora mentioned.

"So, what are we gonna do for the next 3 hours? Why did I even come this early...?" Midori sighed. "Well, how about you kids go play~? We're at an amusement park, after all~" Kanata spoke.

Me, Tetora and Shinobu beamed. "That's a good idea! Id love to explore around!" I agreed. "Hehe. You guys are so cute when you're excited. Then, go and have fun~! I saw a nice fountain over there to puka puka~☆. I'll be there if you need me~" Kanata waved and immediately headed to the said fountain.

"Well, it's not a bad idea. I'm afraid I can't join you, though. I'd like to discuss stuff with Anzu. Maybe we can plan the next show!" Chiaki's eyes lit up. "Haha! I'll make sure to plan a good show for the next one! Until we meet later, everyone! Take care!" he smiled happily and headed to the stage where a bunch of staff are gathering.

"Ah, the seniors are gone. Should we head off too?" Shinobu turned towards us. "Let's go! I can't wait to try out the rides here!" I smiled, looking at the bigger rides deeper inside the amusement park.

"Then, let us be your guides! Hinata always brings me here, so I know a bunch of good rides!" Tetora mentioned excitedly. "A-ah, can I just find somewhere to sit? I'm tired" Midori spoke.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Hm? Why not join us? It'll be fun!" I offered, grabbing his arm. He bit his lips. "Ugh... fine, alright..." he nervously mumbled, looking at a roller coaster up ahead.

The roller coaster also caught my eye. "Do you want to ride that one, (L/N)-senpai? That one's quite fun!" Tetora asked.

I nodded. "Sure, why not? It seems like a good start! Let's head there!" I followed Tetora and Shinobu towards the roller coaster as I dragged Midori by his arm.

"Let's all get on! I'm actually a little nervous, but a ninja shouldn't be afraid, right?" Shinobu spoke as we paid for the ride. "That's the spirit, Shinobu! What about you, Midori? You look pale" Tetora tilted his head as he glanced at Midori who is nervously looking at the roller coaster.

I looked at his face. "Are you perhaps scared, Midori?" I guessed. Midori seemed startled by that. "Uhh... I... I'll go! I-I will!" he stammered, before looking like he regretted what he said. But since he didn't change his mind, we bought a ticket for him as well, so now it's too late.

We got on the carts and I sat beside Shinobu, Tetora and Midori behind us. Once the carts are full, we got signaled that it's about to move. I took one last look at the two behind me. Tetora grinned and showed me a 'thumbs up', while Midori is still, seemingly contemplating his choices.

"Wahh, that was very fun!" Shinobu exclaimed as we got off. I chuckled. "You have quite a strong grip, Shinobu. You squeezed my hand the entire ride"

Shinobu blushed. "A-ah,I'm sorry, (L/N)-sama! T-that was... Uhh... reflex..." he muttered.

We were greeted by Tetora and Midori who just got out of their seats. Tetora is helping a lifeless Midori walk as they approached us.

"Ahaha, it seems that was too much for Midori. You alright?" he smiled awkwardly and glanced at Midori beside him. Midori shook his head.

I giggled and smiled with pity. "You should've told us you don't want to ride it, Midori"

Midori lifted his head. "N-no....Im actually fine..." he panted. "You don't look like it. Maybe you should sit and rest somewhere?" Shinobu asked, concerned.

"Yeah, but we won't be waiting, though. Is that okay?" Tetora added. Midori thought for a bit. "No... I'll follow you...." he said as he let go of Tetora and stood on his own.

His answer surprised me. But it's a good thing he seems to not refuse. "Then, should we go on that one? It's been a while since I saw one of those" I pointed at a ride with the seats spinning around in the air.

"Good choice! I was just thinking of going on that one!" Tetora beamed. Thats where we headed to next.

As usual, we bought tickets, waited in line and got on at our turn. I secured my buckle and looked at Midori nearby. Our eyes met. I gave him a 'thumbs up' and a reassuring smile, while he just gave me a nervous smile before looking ahead.

The seats soon lifted up and started spinning as it took speed. I grinned, excited. Once it starts spinning faster, I can hear Midori's scream among many others. I on the other hand, laughed happily as the ride spun around.

After that one, we sat at a bench nearby for a while, still recovering from our dizziness.

"Ehehe, that was fun!" I suddenly giggled once I've recovered a bit. "Eh? Hehe, yeah. There's tons more rides here, and since we have lots of time, we should try as many as we could!" Tetora smiled.

"Sure! I rarely ever come here, so it would be a nice experience!" Shinobu joined.

Midori suddenly got up from his seat. "I wanna go somewhere" he spoke simply before walking away.
I immediately felt worried. "Umm... He looks tired. Did we push him too much?" I thought.

Tetora's face also changed. "Well, when you put it that way, I'm starting to feel bad too. Should we follow him to check?" he suggested. "We shouldn't be seen though. He might feel worse then. I can use my ninja arts to make sure he doesn't see me" Shinobu stood up and looked at Midori a few meters ahead.

We exchanged glances and nodded in sync. We got up and followed him, all our dizziness from earlier gone.

Midori eventually stopped at a small hut and spoke with someone. He went into the hut and disappeared for a bit.

"What's that? What is he doing?" I whispered. Me, Tetora and Shinobu hid behind a signboard, constantly getting odd looks from passersby.

"I-I don't know! That looks suspicious!" Shinobu responded. "Shh! I think something's coming out of there!" Tetora placed a finger on his lip. We watched as a squid-like mascot came out of the hut.

"Huh?" I tilted my head, confused while Tetora and Shinobu looked at each other like they got what's happening. They nodded at each other.

Tetora chuckled. "I guess we don't need to hide after all" he spoke as he and Shinobu walked out from behind the sign.

"Hold up, what?" I blinked in confusion. "Hehe, just come along, (L/N)-sama!" Shinobu smiled as he took my hand.

"Hey, Midori!" Tetora waved at the mascot. The mascot immediately seemed to panic as he came close to us. "Please don't say my name! People will know!" the mascot- I mean, Midori half-whispered.

My face immediately changed to shock. "Huh? Midori? What are you doing in this?" I asked, curiously touching the costume.

"Ahaha, Midori loves mascots! So he sometimes dresses up as one here! I've met him tons of times when he's in this!" Tetora told. "Really? Why didn't I know?" I gasped.

Midori sighed. "Why should you know anyway?"

I frowned. "Aren't we like siblings now? Okay, looks like I need to try harder!"

"Hehe, it seems like (L/N)-sama is even more motivated to know about you now" Shinobu giggled. "Really...? Please don't...so depressing...." Midori sighed again.

"By the way, this looks fun! Can we try being mascots too?" I asked, examining the tentacles on the squid mascot Midori's wearing.

Tetora patted my shoulder. "Well, I don't think we can. Uhh... We're a little too small for this, aren't we?" he smiled awkwardly. "Really? Well, okay then. It sucks being short. Why can't I be tall like you, Midori?" I thought.

"Being tall and big isn't so good either... Aside from this" Midori muttered. "Now, can you all go and play somewhere else? You're bothering me" he continued.

Me, Tetora and Shinobu laughed and left him alone as requested. We went on other rides and would constantly bump into him as we walked around. Most of the time, we see him handing balloons to children and we would jokingly approach him for a balloon as well.

Simply said, we all had our own kind of fun.

It's dark already, and we were exhausted from the show. Me, Midori, Tetora and Shinobu are sat on a long bench, with the boys all fast asleep around me.
Shinobu had his head on my lap, while Midori and Tetora leaned on my sides. Although theyre a little heavy, I can't bring myself to move and wake them up.

"Hehe~ are you okay, (Y/N)~? You look uncomfortable" Kanata chuckled. I just smiled awkwardly. "Ahaha.... Well, can't say I'm not, but I have to sacrifice myself this time"

"Looks like the kids are getting comfortable with you. That's great~!" he smiled. "Maybe you really should be our Ryusei Pink!" Chiaki appeared with some canned drinks for us.

"That's not a bad idea actually.... But no thanks!" I tapped my chin. Chiaki's happy face immediately sulked when I said that. But of course, he turned that into a grin in an instant.

I chuckled at his reaction.
