ºGood Signs, maybeº

I've been very into bokuakakuroken recently should I make a book on it?

Saturday July 6th 5:38 PM

"Hey Kenma" Nurse Lee greeted me as usual, he knows me by name now since I've been coming so often.

"Brought more flowers with you today I see" They glanced down at the bouquet with an amused smile on their face "You sure you don't want to throw the old ones away? They'll start to wilt and die soon"

I shook my head eagerly "I'll keep them there until they wilt and die"

He nodded and I left for Kuro's room, the butterflies had never left my stomach ever since I heard the news. It had been enough for me to completely forget the fiasco with my father a few weeks before. I'd think about that later.

I walked into the room slowly to find Kuro laying in bed, I could tell he wasn't asleep as his eyes fluttered opened the moment I walked in.

Kuro looked so different from when I first met him. His eyes were bloodshot and his face was sunken. His body looked weary and his hair was messier than usual; as if he went through a blender then cried for 6 hours straight.

"Hey" I smiled at him and sat at my usual spot.

He grinned at me (as well as he could) and I took that as a 'hey'.

"I missed you a lot" I went on and he nodded in agreement.

"I heard the news, are you excited?" He nodded again, a slight twinkle in his eyes.

I ran my fingers through his tangled hair, "Just a few more days 'kay?"

He smiled at that too before a rough cough escaped his mouth. He'd been coughing a lot less recently.

A good sign

"Bokuto and Akaashi will be here soon too, they miss you a lot as well"

"I miss them too" He croaked and I hummed in response; his voice sounded so rough and scratchy, he doesn't talk much anymore, not unless he has to. I figured it must be painful to even use his voice at all.

Without thinking I slowly leaned in closer to him.

"I love you.." I kissed his forehead softly.

"I love you.." I kissed his nose, holding his hands gently.

"I love you.." I kissed his eyelid.

"Kenma" He whined causing me to giggle.

"I love you.." I planted a soft kiss on his lips, he found the energy to kiss back.

A good sign

We were interrupted by a cough coming from the door. Bokuto and Akaashi stood there, Akaashi trying not to smile and Bokuto not even trying to hide it.

"Bro! You're gonna be released from the hospital soon isn't that great?" Bokuto's wide smile was contagious, I put a hand over my mouth to try and cover my own wide smile.

Kuro shakily took my hand away from my mouth, he didn't talk but I knew what he was trying to say.

'Don't cover your smile, I love it'

Just this alone caused me to break out into a full closed-eyed smile.

'Damn you Kuro' I thought to myself, I hated how happy he made me feel. The butterflies I had felt earlier today had flown away, replaced by the familiar warm, fluffy feeling I had gotten when Kuro and I had first started dating.

Seeing me smile seemed to have set Akaashi off as well, immediately he broke out into a fit of giggles. How very out of character of him.

Seeing Akaashi so happy seemed to have made Bokuto happier too, he immediately cackled joyfully enough for even Kuro to silently laugh to himself too.

There must have been something in the air that day because immediately I began laughing too. We all laughed together for no apparent reason until we ran out of air to breathe.

We all had the same apparent thought going through our heads,

It's great to have you back Kuro.

We got into a car accident on our way back home the next day.

Kuro was the only one who didn't survive.
