24 Deceptive Silence (Present)

Yui cleared her throat. "I have the tea here."

Wataru broke away from Yuna and rolled to the blond. "Thank you, Yui-chan. Please put it here."

The middle-school girl nodded, came into the room and deposited the mug next to the futon. Worried, she looked for her sister's gaze. "Yuna?"

"Thank you, Yui." The blue-haired sat up, groaning and reached for the mug. She blew off the ascending steam and allowed herself a sip.

Next to her, the singer sat up. "Then I'll go to my room." He was about to get up when Yuna grabbed him by his sleeve.

"Thank you, Wata." She leaned over and kissed him briefly on the mouth. "Sleep well."

"Goodbye, darling. Sleep well, Yui-chan." He stood up from the futon.

"You too, Wataru-san."

The young man moved out of the room while the girls looked at him. The younger one was about to go to the desk as she paused. She knelt next to the futon and looked at her sister, who avoided her gaze.

"... I'm sorry."

Yuna looked up and at her in surprise. "What?"

"For whatever I've done." Yui ran embarrassed through her blond hair and straightened it. "I notice the tensions between you two. I'm sorry, if I'm to blame."

"No. This has nothing to do with you," the blue-haired assured her quickly. "We have other problems."

"Can I help you?"

The older one shook her head. "No."

"Please. I want to do something for you. You did so much for me, sister." The purple eyes looked at the other girl.

"There's nothing to be done. It will be all right."

Yui took her hand. "Please. I want to help you. ... I have the feeling that we hardly know each other anymore."

"This is nonsense, Yui." A cramp came over the high-school girl and she put her free hand on her stomach. Snorting, she blinked away the pain.

"Sister ..."

"I just have a few shitty days ahead of me right now. Everything will be all right in a few days. Relax, Yui."

The younger one released her hand and nodded reluctantly. "Good." She rose, went over to the desk and sat down. She pulled her schoolbooks out of her backpack to take care of her homework.

Yuna cleared her throat. "We have an appointment tomorrow with Kazuki Chigusa. You have to sign a few documents because of the Takagi Foundation."

"Okay."

The older one looked at her sister as she completed homework. "Can you throw me my cell phone?"

"I'll bring it to you." The blonde stood up from the table.

"Don't be absurd. I'll catch it."

"But ... your eye ..."

"I'm not a cripple, okay?" Yuna hissed.

"I'm sorry." The middle-school girl took the device and hurled it over to her sister, who caught it out of the air without difficulty.

"Thank you." The high-school girl chose a number and lay with her back on the futon. While it was ringing, she stared at the ceiling.

It clicked in the loudspeaker. "Yuna-chan?"

"Hey, Midori-san."

"Everything okay?!"

The blue-haired laughed. "Sure. No problem."

A sigh sounded. "I'm relieved."

"Now listen. Tomorrow evening we have to sign a few documents for the Takagi Foundation. I guess as our guardian, you must be there too, right?"

"Yes. The signing of legally binding documents falls into my area. What is it about?"

The high-school girl put a hand on her pulsating abdomen. "Disclaimer and such stuff." Yui looked and listened quietly from the desk.

"I think it's unwise," Midori admitted.

"I beg your pardon?"

"You shouldn't give it all away, I think."

Surprised, Yuna blinked a few times. "It's about honoring our uncle!"

The black-haired sighed. "Sure, but he wouldn't want you to give it away. He wanted to look out for you."

A groan came from Yuna's mouth. She took a deep breath. "We have enough. We get a pension since we're minors, and there is the house of our parents."

"Yes, but at some point it falls away. What if you don't get decent jobs, or unforeseen things happen? You should at least keep a part for yourself."

The blue-haired raised an eyebrow. She hadn't thought so far. She looked at her sister, who was looking back at her. She had to take care of Yui. This was the most important thing. And with a proper chunk on the side, that would be a little easier.

"You're right," the high-school student admitted.

"I'm glad you think about it, Yuna-chan."

"It's all the more important for you to be there tomorrow. You can help us."

The nurse laughed. "Of course. Then your guardian is the evil, greedy bitch."

Yuna also had to laugh. "Exactly."

"What time is that?" the green-eyed asked.

"We have the appointment at six o'clock in the evening in Kazuki Chigusa's office."

"Isn't that this financial guru? Why him?"

"He was a friend of Yoshiro. Haruka Narusegawa will be there too," the blue-haired said.

"Haruka Narusegawa? The mayoress?" Midori sounded excited.

"Yes."

"Wow. You move in high ranks, Yuna-chan." Again the nurse laughed.

"That's all Yoshiro's fault. He had to know all these people and make friends with them."

"Yes. That fits. He was an important man." A tremor swung in the voice of the black-haired, but Yuna ignored it.

"Can we count on you, Midori-san?"

"Of course. I'll be there."

The girl smiled relieved. "Thank you. Is everything else clear?"

"The normal morning sickness. And nausea at evening. And actually I feel miserable all day."

"I'm sorry." The blue-haired noticed her sister's piercing, curious gaze, looked briefly at her and then shook her head quickly, blinking.

"It's all right. That's just part of it. I'm glad to make this experience."

"Okay. Today everything went smoothly at school. Both with me, and with Yui," the high-school girl explained.

"You can't know that," Yui interjected.

Quickly asked Midori, "What did she say?"

"Forget it. She's only fooling around. Greetings, Yui-chan. Do your homework."

The blonde shook her head. "This is certainly not from Midori."

"Obey, young lady." Yuna couldn't restrain herself and laughed loudly.

"Tz." The middle-school student devoted herself back to her homework while shaking her head.

"You seem to be in a good mood. Thanks for calling, Yuna-chan. I'll see you tomorrow evening. Have a nice day," the nurse said.

"Yes. That's what I wish ... we wish you too, Midori-san. Until tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow, Midori-san," Yui yelled, before her sister finished the call and placed the device next to her on the futon.

The blue-haired girl concentrated on her breathing and felt her belly. Her fingers glided over the place where Tirr had rammed the knife in. Although Kitsune had cured her and Haruka even healed her later, she was worried that the strong cramps were related to this injury.

"You should really take something if you have such unbearable pain," Yui muttered.

"It's good. I'm going to sleep now, and tomorrow I'll be better."

The younger one sighed. "You're so stubborn."

"You too."

Tormented, the blonde smiled and focused completely on her work again. "Not as much as you."

After a few minutes, the middle-school girl looked to her sister, who seemed to have actually fallen asleep. She walked over and covered her carefully. Thoughtfully, she looked at the eye-patch on the right side of the face. Should she take this thing off her sister? She stretched out her fingers, but then paused. Was she really ready to see what was underneath?

Yui had admired her sister, especially for the last few years, for her beauty and had envied her a little bit, and was annoyed that she was not as beautiful as her sister. Her mother had always told her that she should wait for two years, and then compare herself with her sister.

No. She didn't want to unmask her sister. Whatever Yuna hid under this eye-patch, she should reveal it by herself.

The younger one finished her homework, read something, and when she thought it was late enough, she put out the light and went to sleep.

Yui hadn't yet fallen asleep properly when she noticed a movement beside her. She acted sleeping while her sister got up beside her. At first Yuna went to the window and peered out into the night, into the night sky. Then she crossed the room, took the Katana from the wall and left the room.

The blonde wondered what was going on, then decided to curb her curiosity and tried to sleep.
