Cream puffs and Parfait [Tracy x Emma]

Candy Girl x Boudoir Dream

____

A large window displaying several delicacies all as colorful as each other, so much so that they could make even the least sweet tooth salivate.

The front was sky blue with golden ornaments to give it an elegant and serene look.

It was 'Boudoir Dream', the new trendy bakery in the city of Oletus.

The line had been thick and fast every day since it opened, but this time Tracy had prepared in advance for this special day. She would finally be able to enter the place of her dreams.

The young woman was a big lover of all things sweet and the local bakeries and cafes knew her well for that.

That morning, Tracy had put on one of her favorite yellow-orange dresses and the headpiece that went with her outfit, giving the impression of two cat ears on top of her head.

Strangely, there were far fewer people in the store today. Just her luck, she would be able to take her time to choose what to order.

Tracy waited impatiently for her turn in the queue and then, when it was her turn, her lips parted in shock at the woman standing behind the counter.

A frilly dress of midnight blue accompanied by a headdress of the same color surrounding a delicate face possessing freckles and a pair of mesmerizing sapphire eyes.

"What can I do for you, lovely customer?" she asked in a playful tone that made Tracy's heart flutter.

"L-Lovely-!" stammered the latter.

The saleswoman giggled at her customer's frustration and then crossed her arms over the glass display case with a wide smile, her face only a foot away from the other.

"I recommend our cream puff assortment!"

"O-Oh, um... I'll take that in this case..."

"Great decision!" cheered the brown-haired woman.

So the baker grabbed a bag with the store's logo on it and placed several puffs of different colors and flavors inside before handing it to Tracy with a charming smile.

Tracy handed her the change with rosy cheeks and in the brief moment their hands touched, she quickly deciphered the simple phrase spoken by the other.

"May I invite this lovely lady to the cafe across the street? Their parfaits are to die for and my shift will be over in a few moments." she offered.

Tracy widened her eyes at the sudden invitation but shyly nodded before grabbing her purchase and rushing out of the bakery.

As she stood outside the building, her heart was still pounding and her cheeks were burning with embarrassment.

What had just happened!?

Had she just accepted a date with someone she had only met a few minutes ago?!

As surprising and crazy as it was, it would have been wrong to leave without warning when she had just accepted and so the young woman stood next to the entrance of the store, holding the bag of cream puffs against her chest.

After perhaps ten minutes or so, the saleswoman appeared in front of her, a smile still drawn on her lips.

"Shall we go?"

"Y-Yes!"

So although she had simply gone out to check out the new bakery, Tracy had now found herself enjoying a strawberry parfait with the store's saleswoman, not to mention that the parfait she had chosen was a couples-only deal!

Wouldn't people get the wrong idea when seeing them together?

Nevertheless, the odd blue-eyed woman didn't seem to mind and was euphorically enjoying the frozen dessert.

"This is so tasty! I did well to come here but what a shame they don't offer this on the menu unless you come as a couple!" she said enthusiastically.

"Um... Wouldn't it have been better to come with someone else...? We hardly know each other after all-"

"What is your name?" interrupted the other woman.

"M-My name-? Tracy... Tracy Reznik."

"I'm Emma Woods! You can call me Emma!" she added, moving her spoon in the air before taking a bit of the parfait in it and holding it up to Tracy's lips. "We know each other now, right?"

Tracy's face turned scarlet at this unexpected answer as she hesitantly accepted the spoon offered by Emma.

In a way, it was almost as if Tracy was powerless against the young woman and danced completely in her hands like a puppet.

However, she was enjoying her time with Emma, to her surprise.

The afternoon passed in no time after the two women had finished their dessert. Tracy had talked with Emma quite a bit during the meeting. She had learned that Emma was the owner of the store in fact, and that it had always been her dream to open a bakery.

On the other hand, there was that strange glint in Emma's eye that sent an electric shock through her body when she looked at her keenly.

In conclusion, Tracy had had a more enjoyable day than she had hoped for.

"I had a great time!" said Emma as energetically as ever.

"Thanks for inviting me..."

"You're welcome! We should do this again sometime!"

"A-again?"

"Of course! I'd love to see your lovely face again, Tracy! Unless you're not planning on coming back to the store anymore, in which case I'd be very sad..." she added with a pout.

"N-No! I'll be back very soon..."

"Perfect! See you next time then!"

Emma suddenly leaned towards Tracy for a second and pressed a peck on her cheek before hurriedly crossing the street and waving her arm to say goodbye to the young woman one last time before disappearing inside the bakery.

Meanwhile, Tracy was still standing in front of the café, as if frozen on the spot.

Emma seemed to be a person full of surprises, and even though they always made her feel embarrassingly awkward, deep down Tracy was also looking forward to seeing her again.
