Skydiving (Harry Styles)

Dedicated to my friend Lila; my Fitness buddy and fellow fanfic writer! Enjoy, Mrs. Styles!

I just thought the gif was adorable......;)

My gut clenches, and my lungs begin to stop filling themselves with the air I need.  As the plane gets higher and higher, I slowly am getting closer and closer to the moment I'm dreading. Beside me, Harry squeezes my hand.

"You all right, love?" He murmurs in my ear comfortingly, and I relax a little. But the weight of the situation still hangs heavily over my head; I was about to take a literal leap of faith out of a plane thousands of miles in the air with a parachute that had a 2% chance of breaking. I had no idea how I'd ever let Harry and some of my friends convince me to go skydiving, but here I was. About to possibly die.

"Harry.....I don't think I can do this..." I say, gripping his hand even tighter as the plane starts to level out, and I see the other skydivers start to prepare themselves.

"Hey," he replies, taking my face in his hands, "You can do this--I know you can. I'll be right behind you if you need me. I won't let anything happen to you." He shifted uncomfortably in his seat."Umm, Lila, I-"

Before he could say whatever it was that was causing him anguish, the pilot's voice came over the speaker announcing that we could jump now. I stood, my legs shaking, and we made our way over to the side hatch, Harry's arm on my waist.

My mouth tasted like pennies, and I felt like I was going to pass out-but the soft touch of Harry's hand on the small of my back gave me the courage to go on. Besides, I still needed him to tell me whatever was on his mind........

"You're up." The instructor beckoned me towards the now wide open hatch, and the cold wind immediately blew my hair back. Squinting into the white mass of clouds below me, I could just make out the minuscule figures of the divers before me. All their parachutes were up-there was little to no chance that mine would break-and yet I still felt more scared than I'd ever been in my life.

Sneaking a glance behind me at my long-haired boyfriend, and seeing his confidence, I was moved to jump. Turning around slowly, Harry helped me crouch down that I only had my hands on the air, and my toes were barely touching the edge of the plane.

"Lila..." Harry shouted over the wind, his hand over mine. "Lila, I-"

"What?" I yelled back, deaf from the roar of the engines. "Harry, I can't-"

"I love you!" He almost screamed, than went white with terror. Running a hand through his curly locks, he muttered a few profanities under his breath, and refused to look me in the eye.

Frozen with the shock of what he had just said, and the intensity of the situation, I felt my grip on the bar slip, and found myself falling through the air. The last thing I heard before losing sight of the plane was Harry's voice desperately calling my name.

Rolling over onto my stomach, I tried to open my eyes slightly, but the cold air quickly shut them. All I could hear was the rush of the wind against my ears, and the shouts of delight from the divers below me. Reaching down to open my chute, I was alarmed to find the cord stuck. I yanked and yanked, but it was no use. I plummeted down further and further still, and I felt a scream unconsciously escape from my mouth. The clouds opened up, and far below I could see the green expanse that was the ground. I knew I only had about a minute before I had to worry about sticking my landing in a way so I wouldn't be killed on impact.

My mind was numb--the fear factor of the situation was beyond my contemplation--and I couldn't seem to focus. I wanted to throw up, but the speed I was going at kept my mouth shut most of the time. Just as I thought that I would be dying because of a dare, I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist, and all of a sudden, my plummet slowed to a gentle glide. Looking up, I saw Harry holding tightly onto me, his parachute hovering above us.

"Harry...." I murmured against his chest, and he stroked my hair lovingly.

"I's alright, love." He said quietly. "I've got you." We floated like that for a while longer, until I finally broke the silence with the question I'd been asking myself since I fell.

"Harry....what you said earlier....did you-did you mean it?"

He smiled, and blushed. "Every word."

"That was like, three words, Harry, ya know that."

"Yeah-but I've never wanted to say three words more to someone in my whole life."

Rolling my eyes, I shoved him. "You are such an id-"

But he cut me off my pressing his lips to mine passionately. I immediately responded, winding my fingers through his hair, as he cupped my face in his hands. We kissed until we hit the ground; and even after that, until the instructor finally had to come over and untangle us from the parachute.

What a day.........
