Lemon Drop Shot

You pouted slightly as you carefully applied a gloss to your lips before smacking them together with a loud pop and admiring the finished product in satisfaction.

"Are you done looking at yourself or should I tell the guys we're running late?" Hoseok asked, amused as he watched you admire yourself from every angle in the mirror.

You couldn't help it. You looked good.

Tonight, you were celebrating your graduation and Hoseok had rented out the VIP section in Bulletproof Casinos nightclub. Which isn't as impressive as it sounds considering that RM and Jin own it, but still, you dressed all out for the occasion.

Your eye makeup was a shock of lavender, offset by a dangerous cat eye, so you went for a more minimalistic look for the rest of your face, finishing off with a sheer gloss. Your outfit was monochromatic, a tight fitting black crop top, with faux leather mini skirt and a bulky belt that had a metal hoop hanging from your hip. You finished the look off with your favorite pair of black boots.

If you were going to look like a hoe tonight, you were going to do it right.

You took one more moment to slowly admire yourself in the mirror before turning to your best friend with a teasing smile. Your tongue pointed and swiped across your top row of teeth as you winked at him, and Hoseok rolled his eyes at your nonverbal communication. Smirking, you picked up the two empty White Claws off the counter from your pregaming and tossed them in the recycling bin.

"The Uber's here, hurry up, Princess." He grumbled.

You grabbed your bag, which has a handful of your essentials, even though you knew your phone and wallet were going to end up in Hoseok's pocket before the end of the night.

"Okay, what are the rules for the night?" Hoseok asked as you climbed into the vehicle.

It was rare you were willing to let loose and really get drunk at events like these. But when you had Hoseok around to watch you, you trusted him enough to keep you out of trouble.

He was by no means your DD tonight, more like a tipsy babysitter.

"My standards are low, I haven't gone out in so long. Just don't let me go home with anyone, but you." You continue.

You weren't one for one night stands. You dabbled in them before, and while the experience wasn't overly negative, you didn't like the thought of sleeping with someone you couldn't keep a connection with.

"What if they're really hot?" He asked. You shot him a glare and he smirked, "Alright, alright you'll stay pure tonight. Can't promise the same for me." He said with his hands up.

You huffed a laugh at your best friend's antics. You knew he wouldn't leave your side tonight.

It wasn't quite 9p.m when you arrived, but the club was a lively sight. The dance floor was already a mass of bodies pulsing to the same rhythm. You kept hold of Hoseok's arm as he led you through the crowd to the private bar in the VIP section. You immediately spotted RM sitting on a stool and observing the crowd.

You broke off Hoseok's arm as soon as you were in the proper range of the alcohol. You were still a little tipsy, but that was too sober for your liking.

"Congratulations," RM greeted as you stepped up next to him in search of a bartender.

"Thanks, still have a ways to go, but I'm part way there." You said sheepishly. You weren't expecting any kind of praise or well wishes from the man.

You hadn't spoken to him since you delivered him the signed contract last week, and you wondered how you were supposed to make small talk with your doner now that it was all said and done.

"I gotta say I wasn't expecting to see you here, I thought you were all work and no play." You confessed with a grin.

RM smiled as he took a long sip of his drink, "I couldn't miss such a monumental celebration," he said with a teasing smile on his lips. You raised your brow as the man shrugged as he admitted, "I was able to bring work with me tonight."

You laughed with a shake of your head, taking a moment to take him in. RM was dressed in a pair of dark jeans with a black button-up tucked in, his platinum hair was styled slicked back as usual, but there was no sign of his glasses. You believe this is the most casual you'll ever see him. You swear the man slept in a pressed suit.

You eyed the short glass of brown liquor he was nursing and querked an eyebrow at the curled orange peel floating in the glass.

"Old fashion?" You questioned.

RM nodded, almost impressed by your ability to identify one of the most basic drinks out there.

You snorted, "You seem like the type to repress your childhood trauma."

"Pardon?" He questioned with a furrowed brow.

"Your drink order. It tells a lot about a person." You offered with a sly smile.

"Oh really, and what does my drink say about me?" He asked, bemused as he took a small sip of the brown liquor.

"Oh, nothing," you sighed twirling a strand of hair around your finger as you looked up thoughtfully, "it's just people who drink old fashions are the type to have a tragic back story they never get over. It probably fuels your motives for most decisions you make in life especially since you're a mob boss. I'm sure that brown liquor is repressing a ton of unvoiced feelings." You explained teasingly to him as you poked at the glass scooting it a little closer to him.

RM smirked before draining the rest of his drink with a gruff sigh as it burned its way down.

"Alright college girl, let me treat you to your first drink of the night, so I can unlock your deepest secrets by judging your drink order." RM taunted as he waved over the bartender.

You held your tongue from telling him this was not your first drink of the night and instead smiled sweetly while you waited for him to order his drink and a fancy-sounding wine you assumed was for Jin.

When the bartender turned to you, you sent RM a sneaky smile before ordering, "I'll have a lemon drop shot, but I want, like a lot of them. So to save me the trips, can you just put a bunch of them in a 16oz cup for me? Don't forget the sugar rim, and oh! Light ice, I have sensitive teeth," You purred with a smile.

RM raised a brow as the bartender turned to get your drink.

"Lemon drop shot? Do you like alcohol with your sugar?" He teased.

You picked at your manicured nails uncaringly, admiring the stiletto shaped points your nail tech filed them to this afternoon, they were their own weapon in clubs like these, before looking to meet RM's stare, "A lemon drop shot is a more concentrated lemon drop martini, it's 4 parts citrus vodka, 1 part lemon juice with a hit of simple syrup, and when you smile nicely," you turned and gave your bartender a wink, "they sometimes throw little candies in it, sure it's sweet but it's delicious as fuck and it gets me drunk quick," You stated simply.

RM huffed a laugh "Unbelievable," he murmured.

"So any guesses to my tragic past?" You asked, your voice a little too sultry as you leaned against the bar to face him. You were a bit of a flirt when you had alcohol in your system, and tonight proved no exception.

RM paused for a moment surprised by your proximity but not uncomfortable before his lips curled into a smirk.

"You drink tells me," he said leaning towards you, "you're an over-ambitious med student without a penny to her name that's desperate enough to take a loan out from one of the most dangerous gangs in West Alcor." He teased with a smile before ruffling the top of your head.

"You're no fun!" You whined as you moved to fix your hair.

"RM's never fun, haven't you heard?" Hoseok said casually as he caught up to the two of you. "Did you order me a beer?" He asked as he reached to help you fix your part and style your bangs the way you liked.

"No, but if you ask nicely, RM might treat you to one." You said with a smile.

"Oh lord, you did not just swindle RM into buying you a Lemon Drop?"

"I did not swindle, he offered!"You defended.

Hoseok laughed, you smiled at RM's perplexed expression.  "Those shots are roughly $6 apiece so you just bought a $50 drink," Hoseok explained right as the bartender brought you your lethal lemonade.

RM looked at you in shock.

You smiled sweetly as you pulled your reusable straw out of your bag and plopped it in the glass. You took a sip and shivered in delight as you felt your mouth pucker slightly from the tart burn. You were quick to thank RM and rush off to your booth before he demanded you pay.

Still sipping your drink slowly, you approached the C-shaped, padded couch, which was currently housing Bantan's youngest and finest.

You barely had a moment to take in Taehyung's annoyed look and Jungkook's soft smile before you felt the ground disappear from under your feet.

"Baaa danana naaa naaa" Jimin sang Pomp and Circumstance loudly in your ear, lifting you into a hug before carrying you to the couch next to him.

"Thanks!" You squealed as you plopped down next to them, careful to keep your drink from sloshing over.

"Congratulations!!!" Jungkook cheered, throwing his hands in the air in victory.

"Congratulations to you, too! You're the one that nailed your final!" You cheered back high fiving him. The two of you survived your brutal finals. And while you saw very little of Jungkook, the two of you were still encouraging and complaining to each other over text nonstop all week.

"Yeah, but you're the one that graduated!!!" He cheered back, reaching for another high five.

"Yeah, yeah. You're both very accomplished," Taehyung muttered, swatting Jungkook's arm away as he nearly high fived the elder in the face in his eagerness to get to your hand, "You could have told us you weren't planning on walking for your graduation," he added turning an amused look your way.

You gasped a moment later as you realized what he was saying, "Oh gosh, you guys went to the ceremony?"

"Yeah, we wanted to support you!" Jungkook butt in. He was still yelling and you could tell from the slight flush in his cheeks that he was already well into his buzz.

"Sorry, the ceremony was long as heck and sounded kinda boring. So Hoseok and I decided to ditch." You said sheepishly with a shrug. And it was true, instead of spending the afternoon standing in line waiting for your name to be called for your 15 seconds of fame, you and Hoseok raced cars down the countryside outside of Alcor, test driving the latest cars he had to tune-up.

Letting you drive one of his new baby's was the ultimate present.

"Yeah, we noticed." Taehyung droned flatly, shooting you a joking glare.

"Well, it's okay," you amended, slapping Jimin's thigh, "you can support me by partying the night away with me, c'mon why are you sitting like three toads on a log, come dance with me!" You insisted, pulling Jimin by his arm.

"Oh, no, you don't," Hoseok said, catching you by your waist as you made a break for the dance floor, rolling his eyes at your whine.

"Heyyy,"

"I'll let you dance in a minute, let's celebrate first,"  Hoseok laughed and pushed you to sit as you saw Namjoon and Yoongi joining your group and taking a seat with a smile.

You realized why, as you took in the sight of Jin approaching from the bar with a sheet cake that had thick cone-like sparklers sticking out of it. As he got closer, Jin started singing "Happy Graduation to you," in the tune of happy birthday, and you laughed in delight as the others, even Yoongi, joined in on his silly song.

Jin set the cake down on the table nervously when they were done, and you moved to blow the sparklers out.

"Wait don't!" Jimin insisted, pulling you back.

You were about to question him when you saw it. The sparklers flame began to stutter out before it lighted a second fuse further down the base. Then a miniature firework launched in the air and popped with a crack in the shape of a graduation hat.

"No way that's so cool!" You cried out as everyone else 'oooh' and 'ahhed' appropriately.

"Jimin how did you do that?" You asked in amazement as a second cap was launched in the air.

The handsome arsonist merely winked, "A secret I'll never tell."

Namjoon looked less amazed and more distressed by the miniature firework show happening in his club.

You tried no to let your tears swell as you felt moved by emotion. You weren't expecting everyone to celebrate in this way. This whole time you looked at your graduation as a stepping stone. One more task to meet before your goal, you didn't consider it to be half the accomplishment your friends saw it as.

The four years of grueling hell, non stop studying and working. Getting praise for all you went through made you realize just how far you've come.

"Stop, don't cry," Hoseok laughed, rubbing your shoulder.

"I can't help it," you sniffled accepting the small cocktail napkin to blot your makeup, "no ones cared this much before and now so many people are here to celebrate with me," you blubbered

"Actually I'm only here for the cake," Suga offered as Jin handed him a slice. And there was a low thud followed by a quiet 'oof' as Hoseok landed an elbow in the elders side.

"Okay, now, we can go dance." Hoseok teased.

"Hey what about my cake?" Jin asked as you grabbed your drink and linked your arm with Jimin's and raced with Hoseok to the dance floor.

"This is the best night ever!" You cheered as you took a sip of your drink.

Jimin laughed in delight, "Oh, fear not my dear princess, we're going to make this a night you're never gonna forget." Jimin promised as he took the lead in guiding you through the dance floor.

"If things go my way Jimin, it's going to be a night I can't remember." You said with a smirk, taking a long sip of your drink with a sigh as it burned your throat and allowed yourself to be swept away by the crowd and music.
