Conquering the dungeon

While following the directions provided by the map, I ended up near a cave made of giant rocks with a big, thick wooden gate in front of its entrance. I pushed the gate, and it slowly started to open with a rumbling sound.

Inside, there was a staircase leading underground, and blue stones embedded in the walls were shining brightly enough for people to see in the dark. I began to descend underground as well.

If this dungeon had some kind of floor system, then I would say I was on the first floor, where slime monsters were roaming around. They looked weak, so I started to walk casually. However, that was my biggest mistake. The slime monsters noticed me and began shooting a barrage of acidic bullets in all directions. I managed to dodge a few bullets but was overwhelmed by the rest.

There were over 50 oval-shaped slime monsters with colorful skin, shooting countless acidic bullets. I activated Dash, Weakness Locator, and Force Punch all at once, appearing in the middle of the monsters and shattering the ground with a punch, sending the slime flying. But as I planned my next move, all the slime monsters started shooting acidic bullets in every direction. Did they even have enough magic energy for that many bullets?

I activated my Durable Aura skill, greatly increasing my defense stats, but I couldn't do anything about the acid effect after getting hit.

Yay! Now I just need to level it up to get Acidic Nullification too! I stood for a while, getting hit by a rain of acidic bullets.

Phew, finally! Even though my HP decreased to half, now it's time for revenge. However, all the slimes died instantly when I decided to retaliate, and a wooden chest appeared in front of me. Wait, what just happened? Let me think about the skills I activated. Ah, my Durable Aura must have decreased their overall stats significantly. That's scary; I didn't even have to do anything! Durable Aura rocks!

Now it's time to open the mystery box in front of me. Will it bring fortune or misfortune? I walked near the chest and slowly started to open it. Inside, there was a scroll tied with a blue ribbon.

What is this supposed to do? When I opened the ribbon of the scroll slowly, a screen popped up in front of me.

Poison manipulation? Does that mean I can manipulate poison? Well, I didn't know I was going to get something good on the first floor already. Might as well acquire it. I tapped the Yes button, and another bubble appeared near me.

Hmmm, not bad. Now let's head to the next dungeon. There was a tunnel connected to the first floor that led downstairs, and it was screaming "DANGER" just by looking at it. When I followed the stairs and entered the next floor, it was so vast that you could even play soccer in it with a full team on each side. The room had three tunnels at each direction: left, front, and right, and a stair in the middle with gates adorned with strange shapes carved on them-rectangle, triangle, and circle.

So, do I have to find keys from these three tunnels to enter the next floor or something? Hmmm, which tunnel should I explore first? Let's go to the left tunnel.

The tunnel walls were made of colorful bricks and led to a vast room with two empty sphere-shaped holes carved on a chest in the middle. Hmm, do I need something to put there? There's nothing besides this chest... Let's try another tunnel for now.

I went through the middle tunnel, which had the same type of walls. The room ahead was much bigger than the left tunnel, and in the center was a golem made of weird stones I had never seen before. It was taller than a lamppost from my world and had a blue crest in the middle of its body, which must be the source of energy for the golem. So, I just need to destroy it.

As I walked further into the room, the golem slowly started to move, shaking the entire room with its movement. It waved its two giant hands, creating huge shockwaves that shattered the ground below. I took a deep breath, calming myself before deciding to start the fight with my hands.

I activated Force Punch, Dash, and Coil simultaneously and rushed towards the golem. The golem was preparing its own attacks, pulling both hands into the air and hammering down in my direction, creating continuous shockwaves spreading around. I barely managed to dodge them using my Dash and Intelligence skill, which made my surroundings slower for me. If I didn't have the Intelligence skill, I would have been flattened by the golem's first arm smash.

The shockwaves continued, shattering the ground below until the shattered bricks turned into dust, floating in the air, making it a little difficult for me to see the golem. However, due to its huge size, I was able to keep track of it.

After dodging its barrage of punches, I reached the golem and punched its right leg with Force Punch, resulting in a "THUNK!" sound. Wait, is this metal? I immediately used Appraisal on its body when it flinched for a second.

Earth Golem: A golem made with the earth element, mostly found in dungeons.
Level: 20

______________________________________________

Wait, what? Doesn't that mean if this battle goes on for too long, I will be at a disadvantage? I have to finish this battle if I want to prevent its defense from getting stronger! I took out the Elemental Sword at once and dashed towards the Earth Golem. As it noticed me dashing toward it, the golem stomped its giant legs on the ground, shattering the bricks into sharp shards, and roared, sending the sharp shards flying at me at high speed. Although some of the shards scratched my arms, I dodged them and dashed toward the golem. When I closed the distance, the golem swiped its giant arm horizontally to create space.

I dodged its horizontal attack by crouching a little and swiped my sword vertically with the Scald Cut skill, leaving the golem in a burn effect and severing its left arm from its body. Though the golem didn't show any expression, it started swiping its right hand everywhere as if in pain. The golem created huge shockwaves while throwing its tantrum, enough to crack the walls of the room. I instantly used Aqua Cut while dodging its attacks, cutting its every robotic-like structure into pieces. When it fell down, I relaxed for a while and started putting the metal parts of the golem into my inventory. While looking at the orb that dropped along with the metal parts of the golem, the room around me started shaking, and everything that was broken or destroyed in the room fixed itself. It was like the fight never happened in it!

Well, not that I care. I stored the orb in my inventory too, and after that, what did I do? Well, I sat down and started eating the burger stored in my inventory. I'm hungry after such a long battle. Surprisingly, it still shows 100+ burgers! At this point, I should have the title of Burger Lord, lol. Well, let's head to the next tunnel!

I headed towards the right-side tunnel. This tunnel was the same as the other tunnels, made with the same bricks. Are these some kind of self-repairing bricks or something? Let's appraise it.

______________________________________________
Magic Bricks: A brick that can fix or reconstruct itself back to the layout it has been designed for.
______________________________________________

Wow, this could be handy for making dungeons or homes, if only I could get these without breaking them... Oh well, let's move forward.

The scene in front of me shocked me for a moment, but I soon calmed down. What lay ahead was a pool of lava with pillars placed at some places. At the end of the room was a chest with a green orb in its middle. Don't tell me this is some kind of parkour challenge... My doubts were confirmed when some pillars started moving slowly in a fixed direction. This really is a parkour challenge.

I sighed and jumped onto the first pillar, which was stationary. The second pillar in front of me was vibrating a bit, but it wasn't a problem as I jumped onto it without much difficulty. The third pillar moved from left to right slowly. I timed my jump to land on it when it was in front of me, and it carried me to the left side before moving back to the right. The fourth pillar was so small that I could only stand on it with one leg. I jumped on it and quickly adjusted my posture mid-air while balancing on one leg.

The next pillar was a bit faster than the others, maybe 10 m/s, but it was manageable for me. Then came the magic steel pillar that kept breaking and fixing rapidly. I had to time my jumps right to avoid falling. It was a challenging one, but with my Intelligence skill, it wasn't a problem. I jumped on it the moment it formed and then leaped to the next pillar, which was moving in circles at 50 m/s. Again, with my Intelligence skill, it was easy for me to jump onto it.

The last pillar was a combination of all the previous ones. It was small, made of magic steel, and moved at a speed of 500 m/s in all directions! I activated my Dash skill and poured more magic energy into my Intelligence skill to increase their potential. With this combination, I could surpass even a 1000 m/s speed object. Hence, the pillar in front of me wasn't a big challenge. I stepped on it and finally reached the chest with the green orb in its middle. I took the green orb and appraised it.

______________________________________________
Spatial Orb: Can manipulate the surrounding space to a certain degree.
______________________________________________

Wow, this is much better than the magic orb I got from the previous tunnel! Now I have two orbs. Let's go to the first tunnel, which required two orbs. But come to think of it, will I get these orbs back or not? Hmm, I have doubts about it. So, for a while, I gathered enough information about the two orbs using Appraisal and created a bunch of magic orbs and spatial orbs with my Creation skill. I stored them in my inventory, which showed [52] Magic orbs and [39] Spatial orbs. Since the Spatial Orb was harder to make, I created fewer of them.

Now, let's go to the first tunnel. I easily completed the parkour challenge the same way I won it before.

After returning to the first tunnel, I placed the two orbs in the two spherical holes on the chest made of magic steel. The orbs started rotating in opposite directions, making a "KLUNK" sound, indicating that the chest was now open. I opened the chest and found a golden key with strange symbols carved on it. I took it and returned to the stairs, heading downstairs. I used the key in the keyholes and opened it, hearing a creaking sound as it opened. I sighed heavily and headed forward.

- Guild
In the guild, many adventurers were inside the guild, either chatting with fellow mates, sitting idle, or looking for quests they could complete. A group of female elves entered the guild through the front gate, and many other adventurers' gazes fell upon them. The group consisted of two swordsmen and three mages.

One of the swordsmen had silky blonde hair long enough to touch her waist. She had pale white skin and wore a royal dress with a sword sheathed beside her waist. Her body was slender with soft skin, making her appear young due to her elven heritage. She had a bun-sized chest that suited her looks. She was the princess of the clan, named Alice. Beside her was the second swordsman clad in armor. She also had a slender body but with slightly more masculine features. She carried two swords at each of her waists, and her name was Kenshi. The three mages behind them looked beautiful and attractive as well. Their names were Mado Shi, Bruxa, and Taikuri.

They were returning after completing their quest of slaying a group of elemental wolves. When they collected their quest rewards, Mado Shi and Kenshi went near the reception where a guild girl was sitting idle on her seat. They informed her that there was a certain adventurer who was going to take on the Ghoulish Dungeon quest. Upon hearing this, the surrounding adventurers and the guild girl were startled and thought they must be joking.

"Wait, what? Who has the guts to enter that dungeon?"
"They must be joking or something, right?"
"There have been so many death incidents because of that dungeon, you know."

Adventurers started to make a fuss out of it, and the guild girl was shocked too. However, since even the princess of the clan was saying it, it couldn't be a lie. The guild girl thought about who could even conquer that dungeon and silently nodded to them.

When the group went outside after collecting the rewards, another adventurer entered the guild. He silently approached the guild board and took the Ghoulish Dungeon quest poster. Noticing this, other adventurers started to talk about him in low voices.

The adventurer who took the Ghoulish Dungeon quest poster went near the guild girl and told her that he would participate in the quest. Knowing that a low-ranked adventurer was participating in such a dangerous quest left everyone in disbelief. Concerned, the guild master asked him again if he really wanted to participate. However, seeing the young man's resolve, the guild girl didn't object and allowed him to participate in the dungeon quest.

Of course, the payout for the quest was substantial, so there should have been many adventurers supposed to participate in it. However, the dungeon was so dangerous that risking their lives wasn't worth it, as they already knew they couldn't possibly conquer the dungeon.

-- Floor 3
"Aww, man! This is the complete opposite of what I thought! I thought there would be some kind of boss standing behind the gates, not a freaking maze!" Yeah, you guessed it, I am getting super bored right now! Even though this maze is easy as heck, it is so long! Indeed, for a little amusement, some spiders popped out of nowhere, but they were so weak! And since I have poison manipulation and acid nullification, most of their attacks didn't even affect me! When will this maze even end?

After half a freaking hour, I managed to come out of that maze. Phew! And since I made a map while exploring the maze, I can now return easily just by following it. That was supposed to happen, but when I looked backward from where I came from... the layout of the maze started to change? The heck? Are you serious! Well, I ain't getting anything while complaining to the guy who created this freaking dungeon.

I headed towards the next floor, which is the 5th floor. On the 5th floor, there was a vast room similar to a courtyard. There were stone pillars at the corners of the room and a magic circle carved in the middle of the room's floor, which was kinda suspicious! My danger-sensing feelings were tingling, so I headed near it with caution, Elemental Sword at hand. When I was 20 meters near it, it started to glow. I KNEW IT, DAMMIT! Suddenly, black smoke started to cover the surroundings of the circle, and a shadow leaped out of the circle. It was so fast that I couldn't see it, but when the smoke started to disappear, there was a black horse standing beside the circle. It was so dark that if this room didn't have shining ores attached to the walls, I couldn't even notice that the horse was there. However, the circle was still glowing, and suddenly another shadow jumped out of the circle. It wore a knight's armor that protected every part of it. It had a spear in its hand, and it climbed onto the dark horse. The knight's armor was releasing an ominous aura, just like the horse. This duo suited each other's looks, so I'm gonna call them the Dark Duo. I used Appraisal on them.

______________________________________________
Shadow Rider: An empty knight's armor with a sword on a shadow element horse.
Level: 35
{Stats appraisal failed}
______________________________________________

Level 35? What the heck? Even that golem wasn't this high level. Wait, can I even land a single hit on it?

The shadow rider glared at me with its shining two red eyes visible from its helmet and then disappeared! Wait, what the... The moment I realized what was going on, I got slashed from behind. Thanks to my intelligence skill, I was able to run away in time, but now blood was pouring out of the cut on my back. I looked back to where I recently was, and there stood the shadow rider with its spear in hand. If I didn't have the intelligence skill, I surely would have been dead at that spot. Scary!

Haah! Now's not the time to keep any skills unused!

I activated a bunch of skills at once: Brave, Force Punch, Force Kick, Power-up Punch, Durable Aura, Protection Aura, Weakness Locator, Dash, Coil, Eater, and Mega Punch. While I was at it, my back injuries got healed up with my Regeneration skill. All this took two seconds with my intelligence skill. The horse stomped its legs on the ground, shattering it completely, and started to dash towards me. Since I had Surrounding Awareness activated with my magical energy poured into it, it had a greater effectiveness, and now I was able to keep up with the horse's speed.

The knight riding the horse lowered its spear, which was now enveloped in rainbow glow, and came closer to me with a vertical slash with its spear. I barely dodged it by taking a sidestep, but then a horizontal slash followed up. I dodged it as well by crouching and then jumped with Force Punch and Power-up Punch activated, punching his chin and making him fly away from his horse. The impact destroyed the floor where we were standing. The knight flipped and stood after falling on the ground. He then pointed his spear at the sky, which made the spear glow sky blue. He lowered his spear and dashed towards me, but the horse was nowhere to be seen. Wait, what? I looked around, and the horse was 10 meters behind me, and suddenly it grew a long 8-meter horn, which was glowing with dark energy and rushed towards me as well?

The knight was attacking from the front, and the horse from behind? Their teamwork was too good for me to fight them together, so I had to at least defeat one of them to disturb their perfect teamwork. I jumped after they closed in on me, which made their attacks ineffective. That was my stupid thought. The knight suddenly swiped its spear vertically, launching a wave of blue aura towards me, and the horse launched a dark sphere towards me with its dark condensed horn. There were two attacks in front of me, a wave of blue aura and a sphere enveloped in darkness. "Oh crap!!"

I was in mid-air, and it was very hard to dodge them altogether, so I focused on dodging the sphere of darkness. But as I did, I got hit by the wave of blue aura, which left a deep scar on my back. Of course, it started to heal with regeneration.

Pain Tolerance Level 1 acquired.

Slowly, my pain started to fade away. No, not exactly. I mean, the pain was still there, just that it was making me feel it slowly. Just after their attack, the knight climbed on its horse and started to carve a giant circle on the ground with its spear. Huh, what's it doing? I was looking at it dumbfounded while I was getting regenerated. After the circle was complete, the knight dug its spear near the circle, and the circle started to glow?! Wait, is that some kind of magic? The circle was so big it covered every possible way to escape!?

I started to use side jump, but it was too late. A massive beam of black flames got launched towards my direction! "Oh crap, crap!"

Naturally, I got hit by the black flames, and I was enveloped in black flames too. It was so painful!

- Pain tolerance level increased to level 2.
- Regeneration level increased to level 6.

Ahhh! The pain is still increasing!? And why isn't my regeneration working? I tried to remove the air with sudden impacts, but nothing happened to the black flames. Is this flame stopping my regeneration skill?? The knight took out its spear from the ground and started to aim at me like a predator looking at its prey with no mercy. Oh crap!! What should I do?! I don't want to die here?!

I desperately tried to do everything I could and suddenly noticed my poison manipulation skill! This is my final hope or I will die! I used up all magic energy on poison manipulation skill and attacked the knight with a rain of acid skill. The rain of acid skill started to hit the knight from every possible way.

The knight's whole body started to melt since it was only made of metal, and the acid was melting all of it but...

- User magic energy reached 0.
- Using stamina as a substitute.

Crap! I have to defeat it faster! The knight suddenly threw its spear right at me with a huge impact, making a crater below him. The spear was heading towards me! Crap! I instantly activated protection aura, then the spear hit me with another huge impact, which sent a shockwave behind me. Then the spear fell near me.

I continued my acid skill. The knight was protecting itself with its crossed arms. It then repelled some of the acid attacks by waving its hands in the opposite direction, creating a shockwave. The shockwave stopped the incoming acid for a moment, and the knight got the time he needed. He started to form a sphere between his two hands. The sphere was blue in color but enveloped in dark energy. He launched the sphere at me. The sphere was making cracks and destroying everything in its path!

The knight and the horse crippled away together. Wait, I defeated them? But most importantly, the dark sphere which he launched is 10 feet near me! What should I do??

- The Dark Knight title acquired
- Dark Armor level 1 acquired
- Dark element acquired
- Summoning level 1 acquired
- Dark resistance level 1 acquired
- Dark will acquired
- Dark manipulation level 1 acquired
- Dark spear level 1 acquired
- Dark horse summon level 1 acquired

The dark sphere exploded in front of me, and dark light started to spread in front of my sight. I thought... I died at that moment... But then a bubble popped near me.

- User level increased to 20
- User's stats threshold has increased
- User stats recovered

"Waaaaahhh!!?" Haah haah, I almost died at that moment. If I hadn't leveled up, I would be in heaven right now! Thanks to my stats skill! *sob sob*

Well, let's head on to the next floor... Phew, now I am on the 99th floor. It sure took a huge amount of time. Every floor had monsters after the 3rd floor. Floor 3rd to floor 15th contained scorpions with 3 stings and 4 claws.

Now, let's end this dungeon! I opened the gate slowly since it was too big for me to open instantly. When I opened the gate, light started to spread everywhere slowly, one after another. Ahead of me was a giant vast room, comparable to the cricket stadium from my world. At the corners of the room were statues that looked like demons holding swords. The demon statues had three horns, two horns at both left and right sides, while the third horn was at the front of its forehead, and they had wings too that looked like bat wings.

They looked super suspicious, so I used spatial kick in the direction of a statue to destroy it and see if the other statues would come alive or not. I swept my leg towards the statue, and the space in the direction I kicked started to distort until it reached its target. When it hit the statue, it started to crumble and got destroyed. Hmm, that's it? No activation of other statues or something? Well, that was surprisingly easy.

---

Until I finished speaking, the statue reappeared in the same old position. Wait, what? Does this mechanism allow it to not get destroyed until it's activated? Man, now that's pretty hard. Well, let's focus on what is in front of me. I walked a little further inside the room, and the light started to spread more and more until I saw two giant red eyes in the darkness. Wait, what?

The light continued to spread, revealing a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, while its head was that of an eagle's, and it even had wings. Yes, you guessed it, it's a Griffin, the final boss of the dungeon! The figure in front of me looked like it was filled with pride and honor. It was glaring at me with its red eyes, like a predator sizing up its prey.

I didn't want to waste time, so I activated dash and threw 5-6 dark spears towards the Griffin. The Griffin flapped its wings and repelled the attacks, then opened its jaw while forming a flame-enveloped sphere between them. It launched it towards me with a speed of 299792458 meters per second, and you're probably wondering how I know? Well, it's the calculate skill, duh.

I dodged it since I already knew the attack pattern with future sight. The Griffin dashed towards me in the blink of my eye and raised its paw, its claws blazing in fire. I nearly dodged it, but it scratched my cheeks a little. It wasn't a problem with super regeneration and regeneration level 10 working at the same time; it healed instantly.

I used presence hide skill and hid myself under the shadow. Yes! You guessed it again! One of my dark manipulation skills is shadow walk, in which I can hide inside a shadow or walk while inside a shadow! The Griffin started to look everywhere, but I didn't give it a single chance to realize anything.

I formed 90-100 dark spears around it and attacked it without leaving a single gap. It noticed the attack and started to flap its wings again, but it was too late. Every spear pierced through the Griffin's body. The Griffin roared in pain, bringing a tremor in the room with a magnitude of 6.9! I had to stop it or else it would destroy the entire room. I formed another 100 spears and stabbed it, and the Griffin breathed its last. A chest appeared beside the Griffin's body. Oh wait... Did I even use appraisal on the Griffin? ... Let's leave it for now.

---

**User level increased to 60**
**User's stats threshold has increased**
**User stats recovered**

---

I stored the chest and the Griffin's body inside the Inventory. While I was storing the Griffin's body, a portal-like thing opened in front of me. Uhh, is this some kind of exit portal? Or does it teleport me to the 101st floor or something? I hope it's an exit portal. After wishing for an exit portal, I stepped inside the portal, and light started to spread in front of me. I found myself outside the entrance of the dungeon!

"Woooo hooooo let's gooooo!!" And I started to head towards the guild while munching on my burgers.

- Final boss domain
I am Bennet, the strongest monster in existence inside this so-called ghoulish dungeon. I am a prideful race of griffin, the rarest and most legendary race. I have remained undefeated for 10,000 years, as not many people have even set foot in my domain. I can't fight other beings most of the time, but one day, a human entered my domain.

He was male, but for some reason, he was destroying the decorative statues in my room. The reason for his actions is unknown. At first, I thought he was some kind of madman who just liked to destroy things, so I barely used some of my powers like fire claws and wind pressure. However, it was my fatal mistake that led to my own defeat. If only I hadn't underestimated that human, I could have easily won the battle.

Alas! Now's not the time to regret, as I am a dungeon monster and it will only take me 100 or 200 days to resurrect again. Well, until then, good night.

- Guild
Huh? Everyone was shocked after looking at me inside the guild. Are they surprised that I came alive or something? I approached the guild girl and showed her one of the claws of the griffin to indicate that the mission was completed.

"Wait...wait...wait!! You actually completed the quest? It was even hard for an A-rank adventurer to reach the 50th floor of the dungeon!! But.... This claw is the real deal; it's the claw of the final boss, Bennet the griffin! Haaaah! I thought Alice was joking or something, but after seeing the present scenario, she really was telling the truth. Well, you can collect the prizes in the present hall; it was specially made for quests of A rank or above, so go ahead."

I nodded to her and headed towards the present hall to collect my rewards, feeling very excited inside my mind.

- Roserine
"Man!! There is a lot of work to do... I even have lots of paperwork to handle. Let's take a break for a while; let's head to some restaurant or something."

At that moment, a young-looking adventurer entered the guild, the same one who was said to have entered the ghoulish dungeon.

Hmm, did he return after getting scared or something? He must have come here to cancel his participation in the quest. Well, let's prepare for it anyway.

While she was preparing the participation cancellation papers, the young man claimed that he completed the quest!!

"W..w.w..wait!? What??? Did my ears hear what I think they did??? I have to ask him to prove it."

"Umm, can you show any item that proves that claim, please?"

The young man brought out a 2-meter claw out of nowhere. After a while, an old man came with a magnifying glass to check the claw.

The old man also got shocked while appraising the claw and informed the guild girl that this claw was from the last boss, Bennet the griffin! The guild girl also had the same expression after learning this and instructed him to go to the present hall.

---

I headed towards the present hall, which was a concert hall-type room with seats and a stage at the front. Many people were entering the room after hearing the news of someone conquering the ghoulish dungeon for the first time. Roserine, the guild girl, was standing in front of them while the other adventurers were seated.

Roserine noticed me and waved her hands, gesturing for me to come near her. She was standing on the stage, which was oval-shaped with a thickness of 2 meters.

I approached her, and she took a medicine-like item. When she spoke, her voice increased enough to reach every end of the room.

"So, welcome, every adventurer, to come here and hear about an adventurer's great achievement. We hope everyone will achieve some great success in the future. So for now, let's congratulate Sparx for conquering the dungeon, and we even promote Sparx to an S-rank Adventurer since he completed an S-rank dungeon. And the awards for completing the quest are as follows:

- Guild scores: 99999
- Rank points: 99999
- Exclusive Rewards: S-rank title (Dungeon Conqueror)"

As she said that, my adventurer card underwent a new change, and I gained lots of guild scores and rank points. The Dungeon Conqueror title was a good addition too.

After that, a party was thrown, and I decided to appraise the skills, but nah... Let's focus on the party for now!!
