6.More than hamburger and sprite (Final)

"Why do you keep kissing me?" You asked as soon as your husband walked to the terrace, startling him.

"You didn't have to scare me like that," he mumbled, a hand placed on his chest as he stood beside you, staring at the cold night sky.

You felt like everything happening to you was mysterious, like the forest behind your mansion; from far off it seems a unity, it can be comprehended, described, but closer it begins to separate, to break into light and shadow, the density blinds one.

"Why the unusual question?" Hoseok asked as he ran his fingers through your loose hair.

A void in your chest was beginning to fill with anger. Quiet, defeated anger that guaranteed you the right to your hurt, that believed no one could possibly understand that hurt.

'Mood swings.' Hoseok nodded to himself, cautiously.

"So, tell me. I know that we both have not exactly had sex yet," you started. "-but why are we like, beyond the edge of the world there's a space where emptiness and substance neatly overlap, where past and future form a continuous, endless loop. And, hovering about, there are signs no one has ever read, chords no one has ever heard."

Have you ever suddenly realized it's someone else's mood swing and you're just along for the ride? Well, Hoseok is realizing it.

"It's like, one moment, you love. And then you don't. Feels like I'm the luckiest person ever, and then like I'm just someone you use for-" Your words- of course, the most powerful drug- were cut off abruptly by your husband who wanted to get out of the roller coaster ride, with a huge rant.

"You have cute eyes, you're good at heart, it feels amazing when I hug you, you make me laugh when I'm sad, I love talking to you, you're my best friend, you make me watch Friends, you bring unexpected gifts for me, your kisses are wow like woow, you're there for me when no one else is, blah, blah blah, blah blah blah."

Once he finished, you stared at him, blinking your eyes for a few seconds before tilting your head to the side.

"Jung Hoseok, you will explain yourself right now, or I will hand your ass to you on a silver platter. Am I clear?" You asked.

Have you ever been approached by a grim-looking person, carrying a naked sword with a blade about ten miles long in their hand, in the middle of the night, beneath the stars on a terrace?

If you have, seek professional help.

If you have not, then believe me, it can scare the heaven out of you. Especially when that grim-looking person turns out to be your partner.

Your eyes meet his, annoying you as he's still silent. "You're making me sad."

"I'm sorry," Hoseok said, smiling cutely, his hands moving up to cup your cheeks.

So you see, that's where the trouble began. That smile. That damned smile.

"Nope. No way. You do not get to kiss me yet," you stated, making him sigh with a pout on his face.

"I'll say this just once, so listen to me," your husband started. "I love you and I'll never not love you. Whether you're a horse like me, or an alien like Taehyung. I don't care anymore. You're my best friend, my human back massager, and my other half. You mean more than hamburger and sprite to me. I tried getting rid of my feelings, but I couldn't. So let's go, as far as we can go-"

Before he could process anything, his arms were around you, as sure as his lips that captured yours.

For a long time, you kissed him, and Hoseok was filled with deep astonishment as you taught him how wise you were, how you ruled him, put him off, lured him back. Each one different from the other, still awaiting him.

Breathing deeply, he remained standing and at this moment he was like a child astonished by the abundance of knowledge and things worth learning opening up before his eyes.

"I love you too," you whispered against his lips and felt him smile with closed eyes as he dived in for another kiss.

And will I tell you that you lived happily ever after with Hoseok? I will not. For no one ever does. But there was happiness, and you did live.
