~~~ Pack reactions

Jed moved between the two girls and woofed before snickering as they jumped and grumbled at him. It was almost as bad as when Cedric and Anise had mated, "Darn it Jed stop that. You scared the fur off the tail I don't have yet." Amy grumbled at him before starting to staring at her mom and Henry again, *Darn it, I don't know if to call him Henry or dad now.* She was hungry but wasn't sure how the food would sit in her stomach. Based on what she'd learned by what had happened her mom was pretty much married to Henry now.

Chelsea growled at Jed, *Tell me about it. I'd suppose dad would work for the time being. Oh Goddess I'm going to need to call Nancy mom now!* Both were totally confused since they hadn't really seen it happening.

Ignoring Jed, they were staring at their parents and trying to deal with the changes. Nancy was going to move into the Alpha suite and so would Amy. She might end up in Chelsea's room since there was room for a second bed. Amy noticed the pack was so excited and wondered why. She knew Henry had lost his mate but what was making them to excited? She simply didn't understand, *Chelsea, why is the pack almost freaking out?* She loved her mom but this seemed to be almost to excessive.

Chelsea had to sniff, *It means dad had a mate and the pack a new Luna. I know you don't understand totally but the pack was hurt when dad lost his mate and the pack their Luna. It's a very special position and your mom is going to be a good one.* A piece of sausage vanished since she was hungry.

*Huh, time for more reading. I wish I was a wolf so I could understand better.* She started cutting up some pancakes and slowly started eating them. She was doing the best to ignore her sister and Cedric since they appeared to be laughing at the two.

~~~ Going to Nancy's home

Going home was as much of a pain as it had been for Henry to go and deal with Auggie. There was a pride in the area and they were going to need to check in. He was relaxing in bed next to Nancy and one hand was stroking her back. It was a slow relaxed movement. His eyes were closed as he was touching her. It felt so good to have a mate again. She'd never replace his former one, but she was as special as she'd been. He'd long since felt her strength and determination. It might have been for her children, but it was for her as well. She'd drawn him from the beginning, but it'd taken this long to admit it.

Nancy felt his stroking and murmured since she was half asleep. Feeling him touching and holding her was so wonderful. Tomorrow was soon enough to deal with flying out to her parent's place. She was starting to learn just what a pain in the ass it was going to be. By mating with him she hadn't realized she was going to end up with some Enforcers also. It wasn't just the six of them going but ten total. Two Enforcers for him and two for her, oh, and Jed, "If I'd know how much of a change this was going to be, I might have just remained your lover and mistress. Why the hell do I need two Enforcers? I was just your secretary." She'd finally woke up enough to talk. His hand was rough but warm and gentle as he was stroking her back.

He was being serious when he replied, *Because you are now the pack Luna. I know you don't understand it but it's a very important roll. I run the pack, but the Luna is the comforter. When my former mate passed it damaged the pack and badly. It took years to recover for them. Remember when I took care of you and your girls when your house burned down? You asked me about my guards? It's because I'm the Alpha. In the past it wasn't uncommon to have attempts on the Alpha's life to take over the pack. Not common now but it does still occasionally happen.* He wrapped his arms around her, "How I love you Nancy. You will never have to deal with something like Auggie again. I'll be here until the Goddess calls us back." He loved her so much.

"I knew I should have remained your mistress. I just knew it darn it." She was teasing him when she said that.

Henry started laughing as she was teasing him, "Wolves don't have mistresses' woman. We do have mates though. Time to get up and get ready for the day. Oh, I do have a small gift for you." He grinned at her when he said it. She was likely to choke with the gift. He hadn't gotten a chance to give her the Luna's necklace and she needed it. She'd been given a pack necklace, but this would replace it.

She sat up and stretched before scratching her hair, "What is it?" She was sounding confused since she wasn't sure what it might be. Wolves didn't give rings when they mated. They wore rings but not for any reason other than as a fashion statement. She knew he had a special ring since he was an Alpha.

He couldn't help but watch her stretch, "Damn it woman! Stop that or we won't make the flight." The short shirt she had on wasn't hiding much. Henry rolled out of bed and stretched himself. After taking care of it he walked over to his dresser and pulled a heavy box out. He brought it over to her and opened it, "This is the Luna's necklace. It's your version of mine. The same goes for the ring though it'll probably need to be resized." He took the heavy necklace out and after taking her pack necklace off, he put her new one on. He tested the fit of the ring and it was a bit loose, so they'd need to get it fit.

She could only stare at the necklace since it was heavy gold and encrusted with gems. The wolf's head emblem looked to be carved from jade and gems for eyes and placed around it, "Oh god that's gorgeous." When he put it on she touched it and her hands were shaking. The darn thing was worth more than she'd earned in years even where she was currently working. The ring was as nice, and she ended up wrapping her arms around him and hugged him.

"It's been in the family for generations. My former mate was the last to wear it. Before that was my mom, and before that hers. When a new Luna takes over the necklace is passed to her. It looks good on you." He returned the hug before he headed towards the shower.

Shower with someone still wasn't something she was used to but she followed him in. He was a tall man but wasn't bulky. He was muscular but not in a heavy way. She'd watched him work out and he was very strong. She knew it was due to being a werewolf but it still shocked her when she watched them. Most annoying part was he told her to start exercising also. That was annoying. It was true she was in better shape, but it was still annoying. She started on his back. It wasn't much longer before they were clean and dressed.

When they walked out the kids were all dressed and ready. Jed was looking slightly grumpy since he'd been brushed much to his annoyance, "Everyone looks good this morning. What a pain though. Not just us but six senior Enforcers? Fido keep your tongue under control." He looked at her and let it hand out the side of his mouth.

It wasn't much latter when they reached the airport. He'd managed to get the plane again, so they didn't have to fly commercial. Jed jumped up the stairs after Cedric helped her up them. He settled down next to her. Even though she couldn't see, Anise was looking around. Based on the scents and sounds it was a small jet of some sort. The seats smelled like they were leather and felt like it. She could smell food, and a few other things, "Smells like a nice plane."

Amy was looking around and finally noticed the necklace Nancy had on. All of them had been given pack necklaces but that was new, "Wow mom, nice necklace. Henry gave it to you?" She still didn't really think of him as dad. She wasn't sure when she might start considering him as such. He'd been Henry or even Mr. Dawson for years and that was how she thought of him. It was especially true since Anise and Cedric had found they were going to be mates.

Anise started to stand so she could go and touch the necklace until word was passed for everyone to sit down and buckle in. With a grunt she flopped in the chair and did as the pilot instructed. It wasn't much longer before they were in the air and she could move. When she could she moved over to her mother and felt her mother take her hand and touch the necklace. Based on the weight and the gems she could feel it was incredibly valuable, "Wow, nice mom. It feels lovely. Dad gave it to you this morning?"

She touched the necklace, "He did. He said it's the Luna's necklace and been passed down over the years. I told him I should have remained his lover and nothing else. Now I have bodyguards, pack falling over themselves in happiness, and even Amy's going to have a Enforcer. I know you already have one each. Sorry girls." Nancy was grinning as she was talking since, she was leaning against Henry. She was looking very content.

"Mom! Not listening to that!" She did glower some, "Tell me about it. She's nice but being followed around outside of school and the pack was going to be so annoying. When she and Chelsea went to town, she was followed but it was for her friend. She knew Cedric was followed as well but it didn't involve her. Now she was followed anytime she personally left the property. Jed could protect her sister, but she still had an Enforcer following her around. She was guessing they only had the six right now since the plane wasn't large enough.

Nancy started laughing, "I think it's to protect the necklace and nothing else." When one of the enforcers laughed, she grinned before groaning, "Oh hell, what's mom going to think. Not just having a boyfriend, Anise seeing your son, a Seeing Eye Horse, and six dangerous people following us around. That's going to be very hard to explain. Might stick with the whole guarding the crown jewels."

Henry started laughing, "I've been dealing with it for years. I'm sure you'll live. Just do what I do, blame it on my job. Besides it'll only be two at a time following us around. We also have Jed and that gives use three werewolf guards. I'm supposed to keep my hands clean and let them do the dirty work." He gave the Enforcers a smirk.

"Very good sir, only took us a few decades to train you to be good." He was older than he looked much like most wolves.

Nancy gave Henry a narrow look, "How old are you? Do I want to know?" She was curious but didn't really care. When he'd bit her, she knew how much he cared. It showed over the mating bonds and that was what mattered. She closed her eyes and relaxed against her mate.

Several of the Enforcers laughed, "He's still wet behind the ears Nancy. Barely even sixty years old. Only been Alpha for about thirty years." She laughed when Henry growled at her, "Shouldn't growl at your body guards. Might bend over at the wrong time." They'd known him since he was younger than Cedric.

Anise couldn't resist, "Reverse cougar! Horrible mom. You should have dated someone your age not some old man!" She jerked when Jed licked her leg and pretended to chew on her ankle.

Nancy started laughing at her oldest after Jed dealt with her, "Good wolfie. Get the horrible daughter." She sighed before leaning back against her mate.

*And how old do you think I am pup? I'm older than he is. We age differently than humans. It's why it's normally so many years between pups. Chelsea and I are somewhat of an anomaly. Normally it's many years between pups. Think of Maria, her next older sibling is about fifteen years older.* Jed was panting at her after he licked her leg. He wished Norli could have come with and their pups, but it would have been overkill and hard to explain.

"Darn it Fido! The lick is bad enough but to chew on my ankle? Yuck!" She started to wipe her leg and ankle off even as the others were laughing. By now she'd taken to carrying a towel around thanks to the damn tongue. They kept chatting until the plane landed.

When the small jet landed there were several SUV's waiting. They quickly piled into them and were whisked off to the nearest pack property. It wasn't far from where Nancy's parents had lived thankfully. She was starting to stress, and Henry knew it, *Relax Nancy. Slow deep breath's and we'll be visiting your family soon. It's barely after noon and once we greet the local pride leaders we can visit your mother. We have rooms at the pack house and will be here for several days. I know your father was already interred so we can also visit his grave. I'm sorry your girls weren't able to meet him but I'm sure he'd be proud of them.*

The comfort of leaning against him was all that was keeping her from completely breaking down. Amy was on her other side and leaning against her which was helping. Anise and Cedric were in a different SUV since there were so many of them, *I know but I really wish I'd been able to introduce him to them. Don't care about me and how my family feels but for them I do.*

~~~ Pack house and then Nancy's mom

When they arrived at the pack house it was similar to Henry's. Large, several levels and very stylish. It looked to be newer. Then again newer was relative from what she understood. Standing on the porch were several people. As they started climbing out two people slowly walked down the stairs at the front of the house. Once all were out they came over and gave both a hug, "Congrats on becoming the Luna Nancy. I think you'll do well." She could feel the burgeoning powers starting to show. She might be human still, but the mating was starting to have an impact.

She had to make a face, "Should have remained a lover. Don't need guards or the pack doting on me darn it. I was a secretary before this. Not sure I'm up to leading a pack." Nancy returned the hug and found she relaxed a great deal. She'd never really dealt with a Luna, feline or wolf, before but she could feel the power impacting her. Before she realized it, she was crying as the other woman held her.

Henry looked at his counterpart, "As mentioned she lost her father and hadn't known until just recently. She's feeling the impact of your mate." He rested his hand on her back. Even as he was doing that Cedric was holding Anise and Chelsea was hugging Amy, "Oh, the service animal is Anise's Seeing Eye wolf. If you can have several of our enforcers shown to our suite we need to go and visit her family."

"Not a problem." He gave Jed a look and had to shake his head, "It looks utterly ridiculous having him standing next to her. Not sure when she might have lost her sight but when she was younger it must have been a riot." He was grinning.

"No Fido! No tongue!" Anise muttered at him, "Sir, try not to tease him to much. He has an attack trained tongue and is very fast with it. He's even nailed the Alpha a time or two for the teasing." She covered her eyes when she said it and sighed.

Jed panted in amusement, *Yup, I am a dog in the service vest you know.* He wanted to laugh when Henry shook his fist at him.

Andy laughed at the interaction, "I'll keep it in mind Anise. Give my cats a moment to remove your luggage and they'll take care of the Enforcers who remain here. The vehicles are yours to use as needed. When you get back come to my office and we can talk." He glanced at his mate and gave her and the other woman a sad smile, "She has our sympathy. I'm pleased you found another Luna Henry. Your former mate was a lovely woman and I can feel the strength in Nancy. She'll do you well." Though they were several states apart they'd known each other since they'd gone to school together.

Henry gave Andy a sad smile, "She will and she's damn strong. She taught her daughters well. Cedric and Anise are made for each other. She might be blind but many of the pack have come to love her. Jed and his mate dote on her. She'll make a damn good Luna for my son. As far as Amy? I know she's going to find a wolf mate. When I don't know but she's a good girl also." He watched the luggage being unloaded.

"Take what time you need for you and your new Luna. As I can tell family is very important to you. If you need to come back at some point call me and let me know." He called out a few orders and most of the others of his pack took things into the house along with several of the other's Enforcers, "Go, take the time you need to be with her and her family." He moved away from Henry even as Nancy moved away from his Luna.

She gave her a good hug, "Thanks. I'll talk to you later. I need to go and visit mom." Nancy moved towards the nearest SUV. She sighed when she was followed by one of the Enforcers. At least she was female. Having a hulking male following her would have been so wrong. When Henry settled down next to her, she wrapped an arm around his and damn, but it felt good. The training had mentioned the warmth and tingles when mates touched, and they felt good.

Even as she was relaxing against Henry her girls were in the other SUV. As usual Anise was in the back seat, so Jed could rest his head on the back of her seat. The drive was decent as they pulled out though being in a strange place was bothering her. Home, school, and even around much of town she was comfortable. This was a totally new place which bothered her. Yes, her senses were enhanced due to the blindness, but it just wasn't the same as being able to see. Having Jed and Cedric there did help but she was feeling worried.

Cedric gave her a good kiss, "We'll take care of you Anise. Keep you from tripping over something. I know this is going to be hard and strange, but we are all here for you." He gave Jed a good pet even as she leaned against him. Jed's wide head was between them, but it didn't matter since they were both leaning against the older wolf.

Jed rumbled at them and settled for relaxing as the SUV's were moving. They settled down and were quiet for the rest of the drive. When they arrived at the house it was large but nothing like the pack house. He looked at it and gave a general description to Anise since she couldn't see it.

It was a large sprawling ranch style house on a huge section of property. When they pulled up to the door they started to climbing out of the car, "Fido, control your tongue please. Not sure how they'd handle being licked to death." She was doing her best to be upbeat, but she could feel how upset her mom was.

Since Nancy had called before arrival her mom and several others were waiting outside. When they climbed out of the SUV's she moved forward and gave Nancy a good hug, "We did try to get ahold of you but you seemed to have vanished. None of the numbers or addresses worked. I've so missed you Nancy." She held her even as the others were getting out, "Can you introduce us?"

Daren stared at the dog, "Well crap, thought you were joking about the seeing eye wolf. What the heck is that? Some sort of dire wolf?" He was staring at Jed and even he had to wonder if he had a saddle for Anise for time, she needed it.

"Damn it, Fido, don't. If your tongue comes out, I will thump you." She sighed, "He has an attack trained tongue. Tease him to much and he will nail you with it." She was grumping at him since she could feel his urge to do something over the pack bonds.

Alice leaned back from her daughter and saw the necklace. She touched it and started smiling. When she spoke it was very quiet, "Luna? Good for you hun. So, who's your mate?" She knew of the wolves though not many others did.

Henry was standing next to her, "I am her mate and Alpha. We can talk later if you don't mind." He gave Alice a light hug.

"So, who are all these kids?" Alice asked. She'd seen the pictures Nancy had sent Daren and recognized several, but she wanted to be introduced.

Nancy moved to the side, "The girl with the wolf is my oldest Anise. The other with blonde hair is Amy. Chelsea is Henry's youngest, and the young man hovering over Anise is Cedric. The oversized wolf is Phideaux. It is pronounced Fido. Don't ask since they have horrible humor. Ignore the two others since they are guards due to Henry's job." She leaned against her mom, "I'm introducing Henry as my boyfriend. Never was able to divorce Augustine since I couldn't find him. Before anything else that's going to happen."

She moved over, "This is Anise, my oldest girl, Amy is next to Chelsea. The young man hovering over Anise is her boyfriend and Henry's son Cedric. The other girl is Chelsea. The oversized dog is Fido, and this is Henry." Nancy leaned against him.

Alice moved over to the kids and gave all of them a good hug, "So very happy to meet you. Wanted to but... Family things. That's a heck of a service animal you have Anise. He's lovely." She hugged Amy and held her for a moment, "I can't believe it's been so long since I saw the last picture of you. You were newborn and that was the last. I'm so sorry we couldn't keep in touch."

Amy returned the hug, "But why not? Why couldn't we know you and Granps? Do you have any idea of how much it hurt mom?" She was being blunt and honest when she said it. She wanted to know.

"Amy, that's a very complex question and the same goes for the answers. Right now, isn't the time to talk about it." She was tense, "We did try but your mom seemed to vanish and none of the information we had about houses or numbers worked. I did try but... I don't want to talk about it right now if you don't mind. She's my little girl even if she's your mom." She looked up, "Come inside please and relax. We can talk inside."

Daren gave Nancy a good hug, "Hey, baby sister, looking good and damn but some nice bling. Is that why the guards? Keeping the people away from the necklace?" He was teasing her, and he was sure she knew it.

"Don't Daren, not in the mood. I want to go to dad's grave, cry, introduce him to my girls, and I don't know from there." God, she didn't even know what to think right now. She leaned against her brother and started crying again, "Damn it, I'm so proud of my girls and I wish Dad had been willing to met them. She knew half the problem was with his refusal to accept her marriage to her current husband.

"Sorry sis, I've so missed you. Both of your girls look good though the SEW makes me shiver. Where the hell did you find a dog that large? I swear he's huge. Who controls who?" He had to stare at the wolf and he could only swear he was twice her size.

"Fido no!" She felt him thinking about lunging at her uncle, "Damn wolf and his tongue. If you aren't careful, he'll knock you over and lick you to death." Anise grumbled, "Remember in service. No licking people to death darn it!" She sighed, "He has a horribly fast tongue and you would be on the receiving end of it. I've seen several who've had the issues with his tongue. I'm guessing you are an uncle?" She let Cedric lead her over and gave him a good hug.

Daren started laughing at her growling at the dog, "I'm Daren and Nancy's older brother. Welcome to all of you. Come in and we can have something to drink and relax. Might even have a steak or two for your wolf."

When he finally woke the next morning, Augustine was still trying to figure out what he needed to do. He knew what he wanted to do but what was needed was different than his want. Considering his money and contacts there were a number of ways this could play out. Not everyone he knew were nice and he could consider certain methods of removing the problems. If Nancy wasn't any longer a problem, then many of his issues would go away. It was something to consider. Maybe a bad wreck where they all died might be a good idea.

It was something to seriously consider. The cost of a wreck would be far less than what was being asked for from that damn woman. He finally picked up one of his spare phones and placed a call, "I need to have someone to have an accident. Terminal preferably. Several. I'm going to offer 50K per individual. There are three and an extra 10K for the dog. Interested?"
