Centaur

Centaur mythology revolves around half-horse / half-human creatures whose origin is little understood. In ancient Greek mythology, centaurs had the head, arms, and torso of a human and the body and legs of a horse. Many people know of Chiron, a famour centaur.

In earlier legends, centaurs were known to be wild and rude, loud and unruly, and generally just liked to run around the countryside. They were also said to be loud, obnoxious, and often drunk. In later legends, though, it shows more evolved centaurs who are not quite as wild, but just as dangerous. These centaurs are more focused hunters and not so rude and reckless.

The centaurs were usually said to have been born of Ixion and Nephele (who was the cloud made in the image of Hera). Another version, however, makes centaurs the children of a certain Centaurus, who mated with the Magnesian mares. Female centaurs were called Kentaurides.
