Chapter 2

The bright sunlight shined into Ravens room the next morning, making you wince at its brightness. You yawn and cover your head with the blankets.

"5 more minutes.." you mutter, going back into the most comfortable position you could find.

Suddenly, the covers were being stripped from your grasp and off of your body, making you squeal in shock.

You sit up straight and rub your eyes, squinting them open to see Raven already dressed, besides her cloak.

"You overslept," she says with a small grin, setting down the cover she levitated off of you.

"No kidding," you say as you glance at the window, the sun kissing your s/c skin.

The Titans usually wake up before sunrise, but when Raven has an incident, Kori makes an exception.

You run your fingers through your tangled h/c hair as you yawn once again.

"Jaime is making waffles and bacon. You interested?" Raven asks as she grabs her purple cloak, swinging it around her shoulders.

"Is that even a question?" You snicker as you stand from Ravens bed, stretching out your leg muscles.

You walk out of Ravens room, heading to your own. You do the essentials, brush your teeth, brush your hair, and get changed.

You decided against wearing your usual uniform yet, wanting to enjoy breakfast before feeling like you have to start training.

Slowly but surely, you make it out of your room and towards the kitchen, where the smell of bacon danced in the air.

You sniff the air a few times as you walk over to Jaime, who was cooking the last few pieces of bacon.

"Huele bien, hermano!!" You say as you look over Jaime shoulders, glancing at the sizzling meat on the pan.

("Smells good brother!")

Grant it he wasn't really your brother, but you've been there for so long you call everyone brother or sister.

"Gracias Y/n," Jaime thanks you as you walk past him towards the waffle maker, with a large stack of waffles laying beside it.

There looked to be several different kinds of flavors just by looking at the stack.

"There should be a couple (fav flavor) kinds over there," Jaime says as he points the spatula in your direction, towards the tower of waffles.

You gasp slightly and put a hand over your heart.

"Oh my God.. you know me so well," You reply excitedly as you begin your search to find your waffles.

Once you find your (fav flavor) ones, you add two of them to your plate before heading to the dining room.

Kori and Raven sat at the round table, Kori on the east and Raven on the west.

You smile as you walk around Raven, sitting at the north seat, where you could see both of them and the kitchen, when Jaime would join you all.

"Good morning Y/n," Kori greets with a smile, her green eyes full of joy and brightness.

"Mornin'," you reply with just as much happiness.

You notice the large plate in the middle of the table full of bacon.

You grin to yourself as you use your fork, which was there before you had sat down, to drag two pieces of bacon onto your plate.

As you begin to eat, you couldn't help but notice the thickness and awkwardness of the silence.ย

There wasn't much to talk about since last night..

But yet, there was a sense of peacefulness to the silence, allowing each of you to enjoy your meal.

"Okay," you hear Jaimes voice as he walks towards the table, skillet and spatula in hand.

"This should be the last batch," Jaime adds as he uses the spatula to place the rest of the meat on the plate.

"Thank you Jaime," Kori says gratefully as she grabs a slice of freshly cooked bacon with her own fork.

"Don't mention it!" Jaime shouts from over his shoulder as he walks back into the kitchen, setting down the utensils.

As he returns, he holds his own plate of waffles in his hands.

"It's the least I could do," Jaime says with a shy smile as he sits in the seat in front of you, scooting up to the table.

"It's delicious!" You say past a mouthful of waffle and a grin.

Jaime and Raven laugh at your morning manners as Kori sends you a questionable eyebrow raise, as if asking 'is that necessary?'.

You snicker slightly, knowing Kori wasn't really upset. You chew the food in your mouth as Kori speaks up.

"Yes, but it's too bad Garfield couldn't enjoy it as well," Kori says as glances at the clock across the room that read '9:25AM'.

"That's why it's so quiet," you say with a head nod, pointing your fork at Kori.

That's why it was so silent and awkward..

After a few more minutes, you finish your breakfast. By then you had realized that neither Kori nor Raven was eating anymore.

You stand from your seat and grab your plate, reaching for Koris as well.

"Thank you," she says quietly as you look over at Raven.

There was still a half eaten waffle and pieces of bacon scattering they plate. You raise a brow and look at her.

"Is that all you're going to eat?" You question concerningly.

"Yeah.." Raven mumbles as she hands you her plate.

You let it slip for now as you take the plates to the kitchen to rinse out.

You knew Raven, she usually doesn't eat a lot. But this was definitely unusual. You couldn't help but think the dream caused that..

After coming back from thinking, you hear the conversation in the other room.

"Are you sure you had enough to eat for breakfast?" Kori questions Raven as you walk back into the dining area.

"I'm fine," Raven replies as you sit back down in your seat, your eyes darting from Raven to Kori.

"You positive? There's plenty of food still-," "I said I'm fine!" Raven cuts Jaime off, her voice raising.

Your eyes widen in surprise, not expecting her to snap.

She immediately realizes her mistakes, her eyes quickly looking down to the table, embarrassed.

"S-sorry.." Raven says, glancing up at Jaime.

"It's alright Raven. We understand," Kori relieves Raven with a head nod.

"Yeah, and it was our fault. We pushed you too far," Jaime adds looking at you.

"Yeah. But don't worry, it won't happen again," you agree as you reach over to grab Ravens hand.

"We got your back.." you speak on behalf of all the Titans, even those not there.

"Great! Now that that is settled," Kori says as she stands to her feet, pushing the chair out front under her with her legs.

"Training will be in approximately 60 minutes. That should be enough time to digest our food and warm up," Kori says as she pushes her chair back in, exiting the dining area.

You also stand from your seat, stretching your body once more.

"Sounds like a plan.."
