Maxine POV: 

I was in shock, everyone here was on their own team. No one looked out for the people that were being hurt in the process. I felt as though it was too good be true. "Why do you want to help me?" I asked.

The woman put her head down and I watched as her eyes grew teary. "A long time ago, I was taken from my family and brought here. This place was always around but the technology wasn't as advanced as it is today, so we weren't turned into babies but we were brainwashed, beaten, tortured into believing that we always lived here. For a long time I thought that my family was my family, until I got deeper into my career here. Memories began to come back and I have been doing my best to unearth and help some of the people who have been tangled into this mess." she said. I couldn't do much of anything but sympathize, she was a victim and so was I. 

"Why didn't you just go to the police?" I questioned. 

"For starters, most of the babies physically and biologically are altered now. So genetically you are no longer yourselves. But overtime I figured out that this community has a friendly relationship with the government. This place makes so much money that most of the governments funding comes from here." she explained. 

I was in complete shock. "So this means that I can't go back home can I?" I asked. The woman sniffed and shook her head no. "You cant go back to your family, they might kill them and you." I was heart broken. I wasn't going to be able to see my parents, not even Hannah and her little boy. 

My tears began to burst slowly slide down my rosy cheeks and I saw the woman run upstairs into the bedroom. "If you want out we need a few things." she said running around. At this point I wanted to leave this place and try to forget about what they had done to me. She ran around the bedroom that I had been forced to live in gathering clothes . "Did Mrs. James keep any money in the house?" she asked. I nodded and ran to the office where Mrs.James had a safe hidden behind the horrible family portrait. So cliché, I opened it and called for the woman. She came running taking everything in the sae and placing it into a bag. "What's your name?" I finally asked. "Piper." she smiled at me. She grabbed my hand and headed toward the front door where she placed me in the back of her car. "I need you to remain quiet so that I can do what I have to in order to get us out." 

Pipers POV:

I drove all the way back to home where I brought Maxine inside.

"We have to wait for someone who can get us out. They will be looking for you by the time we are exiting the gates so someone is going to smuggle us out. I just need you to trust me.  I know that is hard for you to do but if we don't they are just going to do this all over to you and erase your memory this time." I explained.

"I want out of this place, I know I cant see my family again but that will kill me. I want to forget." She cried. All I could do was sympathise, we both had everything ripped from us. "I have to go back to work to finish my shift but in the facility there is a serum to help with your memories. I can grab a vile while I am out." I told her. She nodded and with that I left back to the facility. 

I went about my day as usual, helping with the new babies, cryosleep, antiaging and so on. I even grabbed a vile of the serum to help with the wiping of memories. I hurried back to my house where Maxine was waiting. Finally, Nick arrived ready to execute the plan we talked about. 

There was a empty capsule in the backseat of the car, enough for Maxine to fit into while we exited the community. We quickly got Maxine and the bags inside and headed for the main gate. Patrollers were on the lookout for Maxine and that had be nervous. I had to act calm and reserved while my heart raced at a thousand miles a minute, but we made it out. 

Nick then pulled out the Australian Documents and passports and handed them to me. One for each of us, even Maxine which because it was on such short notice was a life saver. Our flight leaves in forty minutes we have to quickly rush to the airport before it leaves. I got Maxine out of the back seat and brought out the vile that I had in my pocket. "Are you sure you want to do this?"I asked her. She shook her head and slightly smiled. "I'll give it to you on the plane." I told her.

"Why are we going on a plane?" she asked.

"It's not safe here for us. We need to go somewhere where we wont be found. We all are gonna have new names and live as a family in Australia." I explained to her. We rushed to the terminal where we made it by the split second. We got into our seats and began to relax. I handed Maxine the serum and watched as she swallowed every single drop. The serum knocked her out just as we took off.
