lip + yves + gowon

a/n: just a short drabble based off one of the loonatvs from why not era

"Oh, I want to try this." Yves approaches Lip, seeing the small bottled drink in her hand. She knows exactly where the younger girl got it from, and how short the walk to the store was from their dorm, but she took it from Lip's hands anyway, who was willingly offering, unknowing of the daylight robbery about to occur.

Taking a generous sip, Yves found that Jungeun's taste for drinks was immaculate (excluding her bubble tea order, what kind of devil can tolerate that level of sweetness??), handing the bottle up to Gowon, who was sat on the couch. Catching on very quickly, as usual, Gowon played along with Yves's joke, also serving herself a very large gulp of the drink.

"I'll drink a bit more." Yves watched as Lip's shaky eyes followed the drink, which was quickly decreasing. Gowon handed her the drink, trying to fight the smirk growing on her lips when Yves, yet again, drank a whole lot more, leaving maybe one more sip in the bottle. "Try a bit more." Yves held the bottle up to Gowon, who gladly took it from the older.

Deciding to finally pipe up, Lip protested, "Are you drinking it all?". She paid for that...

"I'll have one more sip." Gowon said, as if that'd make anything better; there was only about one sip left in the bottle. Before actually going to drink it, Gowon observed Lip's reaction, seeing her eyes widen in reluctance while she looked to the camera lens being pointed at them.

Lip faced Gowon again as she finished the drink, handing the empty bottle back to her. With a fake laugh/cry, Lip looked to the camera lens again, pouting as she showed the camera the bottle.

The other pair of girls then got up, giggling to each other, leaving Jungeun to wallow in her despair of not getting to try any of the drink after the camera had been shut off.

It was late. Way past Jungeun's bedtime.

And she was tired.

Yet all Jungeun could think of was how she really could've used that stupid drink right about then. All twelve girls were back in the dorms, and Jungeun very easily could've gone to bed, but she had to clean up, at least to the bare minimum of her particularly high standards.

Before leaving for the awards show, Jungeun had left her part of the room in a bit of a state, and there was no way she was going to bed with her room like so. Just to make the situation a whole lot better for her, Yeojin had loudly announced about half an hour ago that she was using the last of the coffee, soon to be followed by Kahei letting everyone know on their group chat that the tea was all finished too.

At the very least, Jungeun expected one of Hyeju's absolutely revolting energy drinks to be in the fridge, but even they were all out. (Either that or Hyeju had started keeping them in her room after Yeojin found out they existed.) It seemed that Jungeun was left with nothing to keep her going for the hour she expected herself to take to clean her room.

Just as she was leaving the kitchen, though, she noticed a box wrapped in cling film, as if it'd just come from a warehouse, filled neatly with bottles of the drink that'd been stolen from her earlier. Narrowing her eyes at it, she pulled it out of its hiding place under the cupboards and into the light, catching sight of a yellow sticky note that read 'it was for the content, lol'. "Sooyoung..." Jungeun chuckled under her breath, "That idiot.".

"Hey, I thought this was me being thoughtful." Somehow, the older girl had turned up just as Jungeun went up to the box, stood a safe distance from Jungeun and her hands, which usually had a mind of their own. "Unnie..." Jungeun pouted, leaning against the counter, almost guarding the box with her body. "What?" Sooyoung laughed, walking over. "You didn't have to, you know." Jungeun mumbled, not meaning for it to come out so awkwardly.

With that smile, Sooyoung got all close, stood just ahead of the shorter girl, "I know. I wanted to.". "An apology would've done." Jungeun couldn't even look up at the older girl, knowing she didn't even need an apology either; she'd always forgive Sooyoung for anything, as small as it was. After all, Sooyoung did it for the content for the Orbits, that's what mattered.

"Well, in that case," Sooyoung leaned forward to reach behind Jungeun, leaving the younger girl stunned and staring up at her. Keeping her eyes on Jungeun, knowing very well she was making the shorter nervous, Sooyoung fiddled around with her hand, finally getting one of the bottles out of the wrapped box, "You wouldn't mind if I took this, right?". Teasingly smiling at Jungeun, Sooyoung took a step back, showing off the bottle to a very red, blushing Jungeun.

Rolling her eyes, Jungeun pushed at Sooyoung's shoulders, leaving the drinks there, "Take it, whatever." she spoke with a smile as she retreated to her room.

She really should've taken one of those drinks.

Finishing up with cleaning her room, Jungeun was just about ready to pass out. She stood proud, her hands on her hips as she looked around at her work, trying very hard to ignore Yeojin's part of the room. She had the impulse to go give Yeojin a piece of her mind for leaving her area to look like a pigsty, but she was too tired to scold their youngest. She knew that, when she did, it's be a full cleaning service and Jungeun knew that all she'd have to do is mention it.

With a deep sigh, Jungeun sat at her bed, telling herself it'll only take her minute to relax a bit before she got on with her nightly routine and, with a bit of luck, she'll get at least four hours of sleep before her own body would betray her and wake her up at dawn. Sometimes she really did hate having the body-clock of a grandmother.

Her plan backfired and, for more than a minute, Jungeun was sat there dozing off. That was right up until a certain Chaewon crashed in, like she was being chased, waking Jungeun right up. "Oh my god, what?" Jungeun was all startled, feeling like she'd just braved a heart attack. "Yeojin was trying to force me to take a picture with her with these stupid little face masks on to post, but the face masks are ugly. She's scared of you so I came here and, before you ask, Hyeju's nowhere to be seen." Chaewon reasoned, which Jungeun didn't quite see fit.

The older girl only hummed, recovering from the shock, waiting for Chaewon to leave. When she didn't, Jungeun looked up at the girl, who was looking back at her with a bit of a guilty expression. Almost like she'd just caught herself, Chaewon shook her head, quite literally throwing the bottle she was holding in her hand to Jungeun's lap, who flinched as she caught it, "I ran through the kitchen, so.". And with that, Chaewon left.

"Oh." Jungeun stared at the drink, it was from the box that Sooyoung bought.

The least she could do to show her gratitude was drink it.

She was beginning to regret that decision.

For reasons unknown, Jungeun couldn't sleep.

She would put some of it towards the occasional bit of noise from Hyeju's room, which seemed to consist of Hyeju's complaint at whatever game they were playing, Heejin's laughter, Yeojin's whining, and a particular shriek from Hyunjin; but Jungeun could always sleep through that.

For a moment, she thought about heading over to Kahei's room, to ask if she could sleep with the older, but only just remembered the message that she put in the group chat, asking for a little alone time. Jungeun knew to just respect that, and to leave her be.

Jungeun then thought of Jinsol, knowing the older would never turn down the chance to show some affection, but after walking in on her starting to build a new lego... thing in 1/3's room earlier, Jungeun thought she was better left alone, especially when Kahei would be there minding her own business.

Knowing Haseul was probably the most unpredictable person when it came to nighttime whereabouts, Jungeun went on her phone and onto the FindMy app, feeling proud about her idea to drop one of Apple's Airtags in the older girl's bag. It turned out that Haseul wasn't even home, instead out at some convenience store, with their manager, whose iPhone popped up too.

Seeing she had some messages left unread, Jungeun went to check who they were from. She smiled, shaking her head as she read them; texts from Jiwoo and Yerim, both very similar in tone and amount of emojis, about a mario kart showdown they were having on Yerim's Nintendo Switch, respectfully asking not to be disturbed to see which sunshine would come out on top.

That left two more members, that Jungeun was yet to hear from. Getting out of bed, she trudged over to the living room, knowing that's where the two late-night-movie-watchers would be. They were watching a movie that Jungeun couldn't quite put a genre on yet, since all she could see was a couple eating dinner, nothing more, nothing less.

First to notice her was Chaewon, eagerly gesturing for Jungeun to join, scooting away from Sooyoung on their iconic brown leather couch (as named by Orbits), leaving some space between them for Jungeun, "We just started this one, unnie, you should watch it with us.". "Yeah," Sooyoung began, interrupted by a yawn, "Maybe we can fall asleep together.". "Losers." Chaewon chuckled, going back to focus on the movie as Jungeun plopped herself between the two troublemakers within the group.

She was sat fairly 'properly', unlike Sooyoung, who had her legs curled up on the couch, almost digging her knees into Jungeun's side, while Chaewon was sat up with her legs crossed up on the couch. "Unnie." Jungeun whined, pushing on Sooyoung's knees. The older girl only giggled, knowing the group's real baby had to be comfortable to fall asleep, "C'mere.". Putting one leg down, Sooyoung guided Jungeun to sit between her legs, leaning back into Sooyoung's front, which turned out to be crazily comfortable. Jungeun hummed as she got comfortable, sharing a blanket with Chaewon, who was looking a little bit left out from all the cuddling, although she didn't seem to care, more invested in the movie.

Jungeun only then remembered there was a whole movie playing and that she should probably focus on it if she wanted to be included in the next morning's conversations in their waiting room. Alas, that was incredibly difficult when all she could really focus on was the feeling of Sooyoung's soft breathing down the side of her neck. She knew she was blushing, just the way she was when she'd been cornered in the kitchen. Thank god for the lack of lighting, due to the movie being horror.

Now that was one way to make her focus on her movie.

Getting past all the boring character background parts of the movie, the horror truly began to reign in and Jungeun couldn't handle all the suspense and fake scares. Every time the music would build, Sooyoung had to really concentrate so she wouldn't hyper focus on the grip Jungeun had on her top. She looked past Jungeun's shoulder to Chaewon, who was squinting at the TV so she could watch and quickly close her eyes if anything was to happen. Adorable.

"Chaewonnie." Sooyoung whisper-called, as the movie hit another one of its lows of conversation. Chaewon looked over, trying to look all cool and unbothered. Jungeun's attention was also on her, and she spoke up herself, "Come join.". Jungeun stretched out her arms, having a small feeling Chaewon would reject her.

Sleepily, though, Chaewon smiled in response, shuffling over and letting herself lay in Jungeun's embrace. Sooyoung was quite used to this, having two or more of the members piling up on her while they watched something, so the weight now on her was nothing, but Jungeun being pressed onto her was something she felt weary of, though she had no idea why.

In truth, she was a lot more used to Jiwoo or Jinsol, or even Hyeju cuddled up to her like this. Sure, Sooyoung and Jungeun were quite close, but they frequently spent all their energy on each other, rather then being in each other's presence while they were all tired and spent. So Sooyoung could maybe justify all the sudden heat she was exuding with Jungeun so close.

Jungeun actually quite liked Sooyoung's warmth, tightening her embrace around Chaewon too, like a toddler holding onto an older sibling. There was a reason Jungeun was named the group's unofficial baby/toddler/child. She had no complaints, unless she was in front of a camera (in that case, she knew she'd have to prove that she could also be one of the hottest members in the group, which the other girls acknowledged when they had to).

A few, more than necessary, jump-scares later, the movie seemed to be coming to its end and Jungeun already knew Sooyoung had fallen asleep before the movie even got to its climax. Head laying on her chest, Chaewon had also fallen asleep, lasting a lot longer than Sooyoung, but not further than the 'a few years later' outro for the movie.

Jungeun finished the movie on her own, subconsciously stroking Chaewon's hair as she watched the couple, now with a baby, happily parade around the previously haunted house. Another jump in time, and the child was a teenager, celebrating a birthday with the parents. The last scene was the young adult laying with her parents, on a couch, her mother watching something playing on the TV while the father and daughter were asleep (way to make Jungeun feel like she was being watched and that her situation was replicated into the movie).

A long, muddy, bony hand reached up from under the couch, and before it could shoot up to grab the girl's leg, the screen went blank, and the credits began to roll.

Thankfully, Jungeun hadn't jumped there, half expecting the ambiguous end to the movie, especially with the way the shot was slowly zooming in, and the way the music was building.

She lazily searched for the remote with her eyes, seeing it on the armrest where Chaewon had left it. There was no way she was getting to it without waking her two slumbering members. She then faintly heard the patter of footsteps approaching, correctly guessing them to be Kahei's.

The older girl mumbled something in Chinese, adjusting their blanket before going to turn the TV off herself, all without realising Jungeun was awake.

After Kahei left, Jungeun sighed, feeling exhaustion take over her limbs now. She liked this. Wedged between one member that often doted on her, and another member she wished she could dote on as regularly as the likes of Yeojin and Yerim did. Jungeun was beyond comfortable, and could feel her eyes drooping.

Just before she went, she heard a soft, "Sleep well, baby". Sooyoung knew how much Jungeun would whine when anyone called her a baby, but in that moment, Jungeun was too tired (and she knew, in truth, she really was her members' baby, she just wasn't ready to admit that to them).

"Night, unnie." Jungeun almost didn't hear Chaewon's soft voice, feeling lucky to have heard it before she passed out. Jungeun was usually first to protest when the younger members would have to take care of her but, right about then, Junguen couldn't care less. Attention from Chaewon was rare, and Jungeun knew she should embrace it.

That night, Jungeun dreamed of the two girls she fell asleep
with; the both of them teased her to no end, and it was starting to feel like a nightmare until it ended with hugs and cuddles, initiated by Chaewon, leaving Sooyoung to follow and join in.
