Chapter 73

"Can we just get going already?" Hames groaned, adjusting his tie. "I'll be late for work."

"I know, but I can't find my wedding ring." I said, raising a pillow from the bed.

"You can look for it later. Right now, we have to leave early so I don't miss my meeting."

"If you're really so eager to go for your dumb meeting, you can leave. I'll find my ring then go with Faith."

"It's just a ring, I'll buy you a new one." He rolled his eyes.

"Just a ring," I scoffed. "I can't believe you're giving such low importance to our wedding ring, the symbol of our wedding vows. I'll buy another one? That's insane, how will it be the same as the original wedding ring?" I continued lifting the pillows from the bed, throwing them across the room.

"Ouch, Imogen." He complained angrily, gaining my attention. "What's it with you? You just threw that pillow at me." He grumbled.

"Well, I'm sorry, okay?" I started checking the bedside table again.

"Let's get going, please." He grumbled then started muttering to himself.

"I already asked you to leave if you don't want to wait till I find the ring."

"You know I can't leave." He frowned.

"Why not?"

"I promised to put family first before work and if we're supposed to go to the store to buy stuff for our Tristan then we have to go together." He folded his arms across his chest.

"That would've made sense if you weren't acting so grumpy." I sauntered to him. "What's wrong with you? Why are you this way? I strongly believe that you're still mad at me over that image of Tyler." I pouted.

"No, not at all. I already said I'm not mad at you."

"Then why are you venting your anger out on me? You even made our wedding ring so valueless. Oh, it's just a ring." I repeated his words with my upper lips glued to my nose to sound annoying.

He chuckled. "I didn't intend to hurt you. I simply meant that you shouldn't stress yourself out over the ring, you're pregnant, and we can buy a new one if you want."

"I know this has something to do with that crazy Amanda, she must have it."

"Why do you always suspect her for everything bad that happens?" He rolled his eyes again, turned around and picked his phone, confirming my doubt that he was still mad at me.

"Hames, I really don't like this." My eyebrows creased. "I said I'm sorry, stop being so mad at me."

"I'm not mad at you. It's just work-related; a stupid competitor is trying to frustrate HamIX International." He frowned harder.

"Why am I unable to believe that? You're clearly still mad at me."

"What should I do to make you believe that I'm not mad at you at all. How can I possibly be?"

"Then fulfil my desires," I smirked, holding his shoulders and traced my finger down to this tie, slowly dragging it down.

"No, bae, it was so hard for me to wear that tie."

"And it's so hard for me to be at peace when you're this way." I got rid of the tie from around his neck.

"I already said I'm not mad at you."

"Then prove it." I started unbuttoning his shirt.

"Gosh, Imogen, why are you so stubborn?"

"I'm not being stubborn." I took his shirt off completely, running my hands along his chest in slow motion.

"I have to work, there isn't enough time for this."

"Don't you remember your promise? Family first. Or am I getting fatter and uglier and you don't want me anymore?" I curled my eyebrows.

He gazed at me then burst into laughter. "How is that even possible? Why won't I no longer want you?"

"Then prove it."

"I'll be late but if it'll make you believe I'm not mad at you anymore, I love you even more, and you look extremely beautiful as ever, I'll be the most foolish man in the world to not want you because you're gaining weight." He kissed me shortly.

I led him to the bed, pushing him to sit and slipped my dress over my head.

"Kade told me…"

"If it's about work then let it be for now,"

"It's actually related to Li—"

I cut him off by crashing my lips against his, sitting on his lap.

We shared a very long and passionate kiss that was igniting a series of flames in me.

"Please don't be mad at me, I'm sorry." I said as he was professionally unhooking my bra.

"I promise you that I'm not, and I'm proving it right now." He got rid of the bra. "Let's make it very healthy. I love you, Imogen. Don't ever let any man embrace you or kiss you like that, I'll be unable to stay mad at you."

"I promise I won't. I'll never seek comfort in another man's arms. Thank you for not leaving me like I did to you."

"Never can or will I." He pecked my lips.

"I still don't understand why Amanda had to follow us." I complained to Hames for the umpteenth time.

"Jeez, woman. You're so rude. I didn't bite you, did I?" Amanda rolled her eyes.

"Can you carry everything alone?"

"Faith could've come instead of her."

"She's helping you out with carrying Tristan's stuff home while I leave for the office."

"Once again, you didn't have to come along."

"Then you'll still think I'm mad at you and  I might have to jump over a 300-storey building for you to believe I'm not mad at you at all?" He shook. "Thank you but I like peace."

"You already proved you're not." I winked at him. "Amanda, when are you leaving?"

"Imogen," Hames laughed, "stop bothering yourself over her."

"Very soon,"

"Gosh, I'm so tired from walking already." I held my back with my face squeezed.

He stopped in his tracks to focus his gaze on me, holding my shoulder and back. "Are you fine? Do you need help with anything? Should I carry you? What's wrong?"

"I'm fine, I'm just tired of walking," I yawned, "and sleepy."

"I'm also tired." Amanda said.

He only glanced at her and returned his gaze to me. "Don't worry, babe, the car is on the next street."

"Fine, I'm going to pay a visit to a friend close by so I'll catch up with you later." She angrily handed the bags she was holding to Hames.

As she was about to turn around, she bumped into someone or something.

"Ouch!" She growled, rubbing her forehead.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Why on Earth was Tyler here?

Hames and I turned to him and Hames' face burned with fury.  "Oh, you." He said sinisterly.

I held his arm to stop him from doing anything without thinking.

A smirk formed on Tyler's face. "You must've received the images of what is called a true relationship between us. The first day I met Imogen, I immediately knew she belonged to me and not a son of a—"

"Who the heck is he?" Amanda cut him off.

"He's just an idiot." Hames said through gritted teeth.

Tyler's gaze locked with hers and his bold blue eyes widened and shimmered with a different emotion I had never seen them possess.

"What's wrong with him?" She asked with disgust since he wasn't ready to take his gaze off her.

"Wow, she's so beautiful." His smirk returned as he scanned her from head to toe. "And who's this really massive piece of hotness?" He wasn't going to stop staring at her like he wanted to eat her.

"She's Amanda Hart." I answered on her behalf.

"What is really his problem?" She frowned.

"Wow, how much I love that British accent, it makes your voice sound like a goddess or an angel's voice." He raked his dark brown hair, obviously to seem hot.

"He's definitely crazy." She wanted to walk away but he appeared in front of her, blocking her way.

"Where are you going? Can I have your digits, please? When will you return to the United Kingdom? I'll be going there to represent my company for a few months. We might get along."

"Are you out of your mind? Hames, bye." She shoved Tyler aside and stormed away from our presence.

Tyler still had his stupid smug smile on, returning his gaze to us. "She's really hot. Is she your sister?" He asked me.

"No, she's not." I replied and his smirk grew.

"Is she married too? Does she have a boyfriend? Is she single?"

"Yes, she's definitely very single, and she's desperate for a man." I chortled. "And yes, she's leaving for her country soon."

"Wow, I think I'll have to leave you for your husband if she's available for me. I've gotta catch up with her. Bye." He started running towards the direction Amanda left.

"I was definitely not the only one who saw that." Hames spoke.

"Of course not," I giggled.

"It's a really good thing crazy Tyler is ready to forget about you and focus on someone else but I don't wish for Amanda to date such a manwhore. He has always been crazy and will always be."

"It's a win-win for me. Amanda needs someone else; she won't leave my man for me. They actually make a good match; they are both crazy." I said and it made him burst into laughter.

"I'm running late for the meeting. Let's get going."

~ KADE ~

Everyone I had seen today would've clearly noticed how happy I was.

Lila had finally agreed to be my girlfriend. It felt like I had waited for decades for this to happen.

I thought I knew what love was while dating Jovi until I paid attention to Lila.

I picked my phone and dialed Lila's phone. After the third ring, she answered the call.

"Hi, Kade."

"Hey, girlfriend. I'm really missing you already." I rested my head on the arm of the couch, wearing a boyish grin.

"Didn't you just see me a few hours ago?" I heard the priceless sound of her chuckle.

"I know but I think I miss you again. So when is our next date? When will I see you again?"

"I work for you."

"Oh, yeah alright." I said like I just realized that and the sound of her beautiful laughter filled my ear. "By the way, our next date would be a dinner date at my house."

"Okay, no problem."

The doorbell rang and a maid ran to open the door.

"Is Kade home?"

Nikita? She was here again?

"I'll call you later, Lila. I love you." It felt so soon to have discovered that I loved her but I knew in my heart that I meant every bit of it.

I set my phone and watched the door as Nikita strolled in, wearing a really revealing dress that almost made me blind from how exposing it was.

She walked up to me, swaying her hips excessively and stopped in front of me, waving her fingers. "Hi, Kade." Herbvoice was very different, it sounded child-like unlike her normal bitchy voice.

I wasn't stupid, I could tell something was wrong here. She was trying to get attached to me but that was gonna be risky; to have someone who seemed like she wanted to seduce me, when I had a girlfriend.

"Hi," I forced a smile. "I didn't know you were coming here again. Is there any problem?"

"No. I think I have to speak with you directly. I, Nikita Bend, hate bushing around the bush." She puffed her chest out. Oh my gosh, my poor eyes. "I think you're really cool. What do you say we hang out and get to know each other more so we can drive into the next stage?" She winked.

"I don't exactly understand what you mean by hanging out but if you have any romantic interest in me then I'm sorry but it has to end." I rose to my feet. "I now have a girlfriend and I guess she's your friend,"

Her eyes grew wide and glassy. "Wh-who?" She asked like she was about to hear the most heartbreak news of her life.

"Lila. She's my girlfriend now."

"Shit! No way, no fucking way! Shit!" She ran her fingers into her hair. "I just made you break up with Jovi for nothing? This can't be possible. How could I have been late again?" She huffed, looking like she wanted to cry.

"I'm pretty sure our relationship will last forever so you shouldn't think or attempt to try and separate us. I'm so sorry you had feelings for the wrong person and I hope you find a better person in the nearest future." I tried to sound consoling.

She stared at me with different emotions scintillating from her eyes then simply nodded with pursed lips and turned around.

I accompanied her to the door and shut it after she walked out.

Phew… another lady that wants me. I hope none of these types of ladies weren't going to cause problems in my relationship with Lila.

Thinking of Lila, my face was graced with a smile again.

I scurried back to my phone to call her again, ready to speak with her for the next 24 hours.
