Hugging her pillow, she wept away

Clamping her eyes shut, she tried to forget it all

Forget the warmth of his smile

The intensity of love in his dreamy eyes

But the memories held onto her, refusing to let go

Like a hellhound, they haunted her in sleep

And every day was like a battle

A battle she had long lost

She couldn't wait for it all to end

Now she feared living, not death.
