Bakudeku - Spidery confessions

Getting out of his bed, Bakugou was half asleep. He was irritated from the continuous beeping from his alarm, and he was about to smash it to pieces. However, the next second he sobered up and screamed when he saw a massive spider on his wall next to his alarm. He bolted out of his dorm, slamming his door shut. He was not about to stay in a dorm like that. Katsuki briefly entertained the idea of moving dorms before forgetting it in favour of finding cover.

He was in his pyjamas, and while he couldn't care less what any of the extras around his thought of him, they were All might theme. He didn't want them to get the wrong impression, as Bakugou knew that Midoriya had the same pair in which he gladly strutted about in. So they would connect the wrong dots, and he didn't need that. But this also meant that the only person he could go to at the moment was his stupid Deku.

Bakugou wasn't about to admit to anyone that he was deathly scared of spiders, but the nerd already knew. He was a creep, anyway, so it was inevitable he would find out. Instead, Izuku found out in a very embarrassing manner. They were on one of their forced sleepovers at auntie Inko's place. Bakugou had just come out from the bathroom, and Izuku had shown him a little spider he had picked up from the floor. Midoriya had thought that Katsuki would like it. Instead, the blonde screamed in fear and nearly started crying since Midoriya reached out to him from shock to comfort him. But that damn creature was still in his hand, and the closer it got the more panicked Bakogou got. The next second Inko stormed in, scared for their health. She saw Katsuki pressed against the wall in fear, tears so close to falling while he continued to scream. Midoriya looked terrified from the sudden change of attitude in his usually fearless friend. Inko grabbed Katsuki, holding him close to her and covering his view. Through gulps and tears, Bakugou explained that Midoriya had a spider.

When Izuku realised what the issue was he instantly smashed the spider before throwing it down the toilet. He apologised countless times, although Bakugou was too embarrassed to even look at him in the eye. Inko had made them hot chocolate so they calmed down, and she as well tried to comfort Katsuki and tell him that it was okay to be scared.

Shaking off the memory, Bakugou banged on Midoriya's dorm door. Soon enough, Izuku opened it, bleary-eyed and tired. Katsuki shoved past him into his dorm, with Midoriya looking at him confused. Glaring at him, Katsuki wasn't sure how to explain that he needed his help. It wasn't an easy thing to do for him; to ask for help. No matter how many times this same scenario had happened. Instead, he mumbled, "Spider."

Izuku's eyes widened in understanding before he nodded and left to Bakugou's dorm. Midoriya knew that Bakugou wanted him to demolish the creature, and he wasn't going to disappoint. He quickly flushed the animal down the toilet, as Izuku knew that he needed it to die before Katsuki would be comfortable anywhere near the dorm. While it went against Midoriya's nature to unnecessarily kill defenceless things, this was one instance where he would without a second thought.

Walking back to his dorm, he went in, "Don't worry, kacchan! It's dead now. I flushed it down the toilet."

"I wasn't worried," Bakugou immediately bit back, although Midoriya could tell he was thankful.

The two boys stared at each other, analysing every part of the other's features. Izuku took the time to enjoy unabashedly staring at the other. To drink in every angle and spike. He already knew what Bakugou looked like, but it was rare that he got to genuinely just look at him without fearing for his sanity. Katsuki was doing much the same, carefully watching every move Midoriya made; not like there were a lot. Bakugou traced Izuku's face and freckles with his eyes, carefully reminding himself where every single freckle was, where new ones had formed, or where old ones have vanished. The tight curls in Izuku's hair were beautiful, despite Midoriya having never properly taken care of them. But once Mina looked at him she had forced him into countless hair days where she helped to fix his hair care.

Suddenly, Bakugou snapped out of it, glaring at Izuku. "I'm going to go," he snarled, embarrassed that he had been entranced for God knows how long.

"Oh, okay," muttered Izuku, his disappointment clear in both his voice and face.

Biting his lower lip, Bakugou was almost out of the dorm before he turned around. Midoriya was intently staring at him, wishing they could just talk. Instead, Katsuki surprised him by walking over to him again, "Thanks for the, uh, spider. But you're not allowed to tell anyone."

"Of course, kacchan!" Izuku responded immediately, the idea never even crossing his mind.

Nodding, Bakugou turned to leave again. This time it was Midoriya that stopped him from leaving, "Uh, wait!"

"What, nerd?" asked Katsuki, although he stopped all the same.

"I wanted to tell you something," muttered Izuku, nervously. He had been harbouring feelings for his friend for years at this point. Midoriya wasn't quite sure what started it. But he had a sneaking suspicion that it was when Bakugou first showed how human he was. When he had been scared by a little bug. It reminded Midoriya that no matter how much he idolised him, Katsuki was just as human as he was. He wasn't just some God. Somehow, in little Izuku's mind, that made Bakugou even better, and that was when his crush fully formed.

"What?" demanded Katsuki, staring at him with his arms crossed over his pyjamas. Pyjamas they had bought together if Midoriya remembers correctly (which he did, Midoriya remembered everything about Bakugou).

"I- uh, I just wanted to say," stuttered Izuku, blushing and staring at his feet.

"Hurry up," Bakugou said impatiently,

"I just wanted to say that I have really liked you for a long time and I know that you don't like me but I just felt like you should now. It wouldn't be fair to keep it from you any longer but I hope this doesn't make things weird between us. Well, even weirder," rushed out Midoriya, stumbling over his words.

Bakugou blinked for a couple of seconds, trying to process the words and their meanings. Then he suddenly turned bright red and little sparks started to go off in his palms. Midoriya knew that that meant that he was embarrassed. "What?" Katsuki finally said.

"Well, I just, I like you," Midoriya repeated. He almost regretted confessing here, since he would have nowhere to run if things got messy.

"Oh," Bakugou said, showcasing his brilliance. He stared at the squirming boy in front of him for quite a while, thinking things through.

"This doesn't have to change anything, of course," Izuku said when Bakugou still hasn't said anything and time continued slowly ticking by.

Blinking suddenly, as though he was forcing himself to come back mentally, Bakugou looked slightly puzzled, "Why?"

"Sorry? What do you mean?"

"I mean, why?"

"Well, I don't know why you're really surprised!" Izuku laughed uncomfortably, staring at the ground once again. "I mean, I always looked up to you. I followed you around and ever since I could remember I admired you. And then I found out that you were scared of something. I mean, kacchan was scared! Of spiders at that. And that sort of made me realise that you aren't completely perfect. That you're like me. I guess that sort of made me like you. Because you weren't just this, I don't know, God? That sounded weird. Uh, maybe not God. But you know what I mean."

When Midoriya looked up, he was surprised to find Bakugou smiling slightly. "You thought I was a God?"

"That's not the point!" blushed Midoriya, embarrassed that he had let that slip.

"You thought I was a God," repeated Katsuki, seemingly entranced.

"No! Well, a little. I mean, no. No, I did not. Why is that the only part you focused on?" Izuku tried to defend himself.

"Because I'm not scared. Of anything. Not spiders," Bakugou replied, clearly lying. Midoriya looked at him unamused, remembering all of the times he was called to exterminate little bugs throughout their childhood and even now.

"Right. So, um, yeah. That's all I wanted to say," Midoriya said, giving Bakugou the chance to leave.

"Okay, um, I'll, uh, date you if you deal with the spiders. And most bugs," Katsuki suddenly said, hesitating slightly. His blush was back, extending to cover even his neck.

"I would love to!" Izuku replied, grinning widely. He never would have thought Bakugou would not only accept his confession but return it.

"Obviously," Bakugou settled on saying. The two boys ended up staring at each other again for a good couple of minutes before a knock suddenly sounded on Midoriya's door. "Shit, they can't see me here," swore Katsuki. Izuku understood why. It wouldn't look good. He offered him his wardrobe, which Bakugou took and hid in after giving him a weird look.

Opening the door, Midoriya was surprised to see Kirishima and Kaminari there. "Uh, hello!" Midoriya said.

"Hi, Midobro!" Kirishima replied, bright and happy as always.

"Heya, Midoriya," Kaminari echoed, smiling at him.

"What's wrong?" Izuku asked.

"Nothing much. We were just wondering whether you knew where Bakugou is?" Kaminari asked.

"No, sorry. He could be training? I know he likes to start early," Midoriya lied, trying to divert their attention away from his dorm.

"Oh, that's true. We'll go there now, thanks Midobro," Kirishima grinned, before he and his friend left.

"You can come out now," Midoriya said after he closed his door.

Almost falling out of the closet, Bakugou brushed random clothes off of him. He nearly fell face first the next second, as he had somehow gotten tangled up in one of Midoriya's All might shirts. Izuku rushed forward, catching him at the last second. The result was Bakugou crashing into Midoriya's chest, with his arms holding on to his biceps while Izuku had his arms around his waist to catch him. Blushing deeply, Katsuki almost fell back into the closet while he rushed to get out of this position.

"Oh my God, kacchan are you okay?" worried Izuku, making a mental note to finally clean and organise his wardrobe.

"Yes! Yes, shut up!" he yelled, swatting away the helpful hand Midoriya tried to give him.

"Uh, okay?" Midoriya was puzzled. He didn't understand why Katsuki was acting weird all of a sudden.

"I'm going to go before any more extras come after me," Bakugou said, making his way towards the door hastily. He took one more look at Midoriya before vanishing, giving him an uncharacteristically sweet smile. It left Izuku breathless and squealing into his hand once Katsuki was fully gone. He was so glad that that spider got into Bakugou's dorm, even if he did vow to kill all of its species to keep Katsuki safe.
