Chapter 5: 夏

"I've lost everything, and I won't lose you too."

"No no, don't touch that. It's dangerous."

"You'll be a great mother someday, and I'll be the father."

"私はあなたのために自分の人生全体を犠牲にした."
————————————————————
"Fei, you don't look normal." Phinks commented, only to get a glare from the short man.  "No, I don't, look different." The annoyed retaliation made  Shalnark enter the conversation.

"Phinks is right Feitan, you're acting a bit differently." Feitan knew both Shalnark and Phinks were correct about their inferences. He was in fact acting weird as well as not looking normal. It was because some bratty bitch named Y/n. (Again, don't take this seriously)

You've made him annoyed and frustrated as of late, making him angry at every little thing. He wants to slice your throat so that the Phantom Troupe will be once again normal. If only Chrollo wasn't obsessed with you.

Not only that but you changed him too. He however, hated it. Merciless killers and torturers shouldn't be feeling such a thing as love. It weakens them, their vulnerability exposed to other opponents. That's why he resented this so called feeling of 'love'. (Illumi vibes)

As well as people die and well, they can make you cry or get revenge.

As for physical appearance, he unfortunately has a blush on his face most of the time now. Although it isn't easily seen, it's still noticeable on his snow white skin. Nobody knows if it's angry or flustered blush, not even himself.

All these things were occurring because of his weird instinct you've triggered somehow. This instinct to protect, cherish, and to take care of. It's abnormal for him, almost resentful. He's never really cared for something that much in his life other than the phantom troupe and perhaps sire.

Why was it happening now out of all the times?

That's when you walked into the room, the butterfly pin still in your hair. "Hi Y/n, do you feel alright? Sire said you weren't feeling that well yesterday." Shalnark questioned. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine." He smiled wider at your response.

You definitely weren't feeling fine emotionally. You were angry, and just other negative feelings mixed into it. You never wanted to be part of the murderers, but you couldn't escape since not only were 13 people would look for you as well as Hanarō having 8 possible people that you could run into who would act like Chrollo.

You couldn't do anything for now, but someday you'll find a way to be once again free, released. Just not now, not when there's so many variables and other drawbacks affecting the results and possibilities. So much for being a librarian who reads quite a bit.

"Do you wanna do something? Maybe play a video game or something of that sort?" The blonde asked, bringing you back to reality. You hesitated before slowly nodding your head and he suggested a list of things to do, distracting you from your emotions.

You were once again back with Chrollo, his arms wrapping around your form. "My graceful butterfly, how is your time with our family so far?" His eyes cherishingly making contact with yours. You thought for a moment, actually assessing your relationship with the group.

"I think I'm pretty acquainted with Shalnark, Pakunoda, and Machi." You explained, looking towards the door that led to where the so said people inhabited. "Uvogin, and Nobunaga I should get to know better, meanwhile, the others I know only so much about." He smiled and gently pecked the crown of your head.

"I'm so glad you're accepting your new life so well. It'll be so much easier for me to protect you." He stilled for a second as if he was in deep thought. Then he stated, "I love you." You stayed silent, hesitating on how to reply. Deciding on complying, you sweetly responded in a poco voice. "I love you too, my stunning love of my mine."

(Poco = little)

The two of you affectionately held each other for the rest of the hour, with you being uncomfortable the entire time. It was sickening at the amount of love he showed. You've been here for only a week and already it's like you've been together for years with him.

Which was definitely not the case, he literally kidnapped you, and also killed your fiancé. The most infuriating thing however was that it wasn't his fault. It was Hanarō's.

You didn't want to blame your best friend but he was the one that made Chrollo do this. To force a man into doing things he never intended or wished to do. All because of some feelings of love? Truly, he could've just stolen you before he died.

You hoped that someday Hanarō would stop and everything would go back somewhat normal, or maybe Chrollo would kill you. No, let's not think about such things for now.

————————————————————
"Hey wait up guys!" A boy shouted, chasing after a girl and a boy, the three traveling across a town. "Wow! This place is beautiful, just like you said Hanarō." The girl mused, smiling up at a statue that was in the center of the city.

The statue was in the form of a man, with stained glass ornaments decorating the surface. It was breathtaking with all of its colors and shapes. The statue was named 'Universal Birds' due to the fact it had an astonishing beauty that attracted the entire world.

"I wonder when they made this, it's so old yet so new." The boy, Vidal, states while touching the base. "Um, I think it was 300 years ago." The other male companion informs while grabbing the base of your jacket. "I wish I was pretty like the statue!" The loud noise caused some passerby's to wince.

"You already are, you'll always be pretty as the statue." You smiled at the comment and patted Hanarō's shoulder. "Thanks." He stiffened but relaxed immediately after the contact.

"Now, where do you wanna go visit next?" Vidal asked Hanarō with curiosity. The boy stayed silent before answering, "I don't know, maybe a food place of some sort?" The other two nodded in agreement and they set off for some food.

"Hey, look at this one!" The girl, Y/n, pointed at a dessert shop. It was visually appealing, the building decorated with pastel themed colors. There was also pixie dust and glitter placed all over the ground. A sign on the side of the building printed, 'Paimon's Emergency Food'. To the boys however, it looked like someone stabbed unicorns and sprayed their body fluids everywhere.

"How about this one?" Vidal pointed to a BBQ restaurant that was painted in black and fire prints decorated the dark color. It looked like a place where gangsters or bad people would go to, but there's children and other families entering the aggressive looking place. The sign for this restaurant read, 'Dio's Jojo Butchering BBQ'.

"Uhh, I think that place looks scary." Y/n muttered meanwhile Hanarō just stood there in deep thought. He then suddenly gasped. "Oh! I know! We should each buy a dessert from the Paimon store and then go eat at the barbecue place!" The black haired child cheered. "That's actually not a bad idea..." The dorky potato agreed, while you just made joyful yaps.

So, the three of you entered the Paimon shop, Hanarō ordered a crepe, you ordered a Swiss Roll, and finally Vidal ordered a whole chocolate bar, and he says he's too mature for other things. Then the three of you headed for the BBQ restaurant.

"Wow, they have such good food here! No wonder they've got so many customers!" You complimented while taking a piece of meat. A blonde man suddenly climbs the ladder in the middle of the building, a smirk on his face. "YOU EXPECTED THIS PLACE TO BE NAMED AFTER AN ANIMAL BUT NO, IT WAS I DIO WHOSE NAME IS THE RESTAURANT!" That's when a blue haired man yelled, the customers laughed at the show.

"Wow, you're really good at coming to conclusions Hanarō." Vidal commented while stuffing his face with pork and beef. He acts so mature but in reality he's just probably more childish than Hanarō. It's oddly cute, it may not be something you find charming at first but later it sticks with you.

During the meal, Hanarō just admired your gleeful expression and plasters a smile on his face the entire time. He was just so happy spending time with you, like he was in a never ending dream. If it really was a dream though, Vidal wouldn't be here.

Not that he hated Vidal, in fact, he liked him a lot. It's just that he's always with you, keeping the lovesick boy from individually interacting with his crush.

That was the start of Hanarō's rage and obsession, and nothing will be able to stop it.

Sorry that this chapter was short, I couldn't think of a better way to end it so I decided to leave it like this. Btw, I'm so grateful and soft that this has gotten more than 600 views. It might not be a huge accomplishment compared to other fanfics out there but to me it means a lot. I only write because I want to read it later for myself and also because I like writing, I never thought people would like it more than I expected. Truly, I appreciate what the universe has given me in this dark cruel world.
