Chapter 25

Location: Unknown
Year: 20XX

Sakura stood in front of the mirror of her room staring at her white hair. It was the third color it had become during her lifetime. Although she was used to it now, it would bother her ever so often because it was a reminder. It would never let her forget the place she had come from or the things she had done. The lives that were lost. The guilt that she still bore.

"There you are." Sakura turned back to see that Shirou had entered her room. Shirou Emiya. Despite him not being the same one that she knew in her original world, she loved him all the same. He was still Shirou. Nothing had changed other than the universe and his occupation. "Are you ready? The first servant will be summoned today. If we're succesful, we'll be able to save the entire world." Sakura smiled at his enthusiasm. He had not abandoned his dream of being a hero of justice. He just went about it in a different way.

Yes, the individual that began the organization known as Tokugawa was none other than Shirou Emiya, and it was Sakura who gave him the knowledge to do so. He had lost his Sakura to the war between mages allied with the association and mages who chose to go against it. Sakura ended up in his world after a rift took her away from the one she once lived in. He hadn't cared about her past. He had accepted her as she was, and cared for her as if she had always been by his side.

"What type of servant do you think it will be?" she asked him as she stepped away from the mirror. Her new uniform fit well, and she had Shirou to thank for it. He was always going out of his way to do things for her.

"Hopefully a powerful one. I've never seen one myself, but based on the stories you told me, even a basic servant could have enough strength to turn the ties for us. Tokugawa needs just one." Shirou grinned at her. "We'll get to watch the summoning and witness history unfolding first hand!" He was far more energetic than her Shirou as well, but Sakura didn't mind it. She laughed in delight at his purity, for all he could think about was how to help save the world of mages rather than how to exploit the servant he would summon.

"Let's not be late then. You are the director afterall." They walked together down the hallway greeting the various staff members that had volunteered their services towards Tokugawa's goal of peace through suppression.

"A minute longer and the two of you would have been a second late," Rin half-heartedly complained as Shirou and Sakura entered the protected room that they would be viewing the summoning from. Their progress was being monitored from the control room, and a few engineers amd mages were on standby. "The leyline here is rather strong. We can only concentrate its power here for a short amount of time before the entire facility loses power and switches over to the emergency generators."

"Just enough to summon one servant," Sakura quietly said.

Rin nodded. "That's correct." She flipped the switch that would run Tokugawa's gathered magical energy through the specially constructed containment unit built in hopes of housing the summoned servant if they became hostile. "Shirou...you better be ready for this."

Sakura and Rin stepped back to give Shirou some space. He took a deep breath and began to speak the words that Sakura taught him which would allow him to call to the Throne of Heroes. She worried for him, and it must have shown on her face because Rin took hold of her hand and gave it a light squeeze. This Rin, although hesitant at first, accepted Sakura into this world as her own sister especially after the real Sakura Matou lost her life. Or rather....Sakura Tohsaka. The was the name of the girl whose life she now lived. The name she now went by.

A radiant light mixed with with looked like stars in the night sky burst forth into the containment unit. Everyone shielded their eyes from the brightness of it. Everything shut down for a few seconds until the emergency  power kicked in. Slowly they opened their eyes again to see what they had brought forth into this world. A young man with long flowing, almost floating, white hair levitated within the glass box. A set of horns stuck out from his head and a tail of blue was at his rear to match. Eyes devoid of emotion rested directly on Shirou. The speakers connected to the containment unit allowed them to hear the servant's calm words.

"Servant. Berserker, Arjuna. This body is has been made to carry out justice for humanity. See to it as you please."

They all stood in silence for a moment before everyone in the room began to cheer. Shirou rejoiced by pulling Sakura into a hug and spinning her around in a circle. "We did it! Sakura, we did it!"

"Alright, alright," Rin hushed them all down. "You shouldn't keep your servant waiting, Shirou. He looks like he's awaiting you orders." Just as she said, the summoned servant hadn't moved and waited to be told what to do. "He called himself Arjuna."

"Let's go greet him," Sakura suggested. She caught hold of Rin and Shirou's hands and eagerly led them into the chamber where the new servant was being held. He watched them without a word.

"Hey there!" Shirou greeted. "You're the one who answered my summons. It's nice to meet you, Arjuna. Oh, this glass is in the way. Let's get you out of here." The control room operators could heard them and opened the containment unit to release the newly summoned servant. The berserker did not move. "Um...you can come out from there," Shirou said with a nervous laugh. They watched as the servant floated, as if swimming, just enough to be freed but going no further than where Shirou stood.

"What are your orders, Master?" Arjuna asked with his head slightly tilted aside.

Shirou didn't get the chance to tell him. Sakura sensed something dangerous and familiar approaching. Her instincts brought out the burried power that she had obtained from the grail in her previous world. The black dress formed over her clothes and stretched out to pull both Rin and Shirou towards her while Arjuna faced the source of danger and placed himself between it and his new master.

A rift, much like the one Sakura had fallen through, opened on the other side of the room. Out of it stepped a beast that held a hideous form but appeared to be beautiful from the colors that swarmed around in its tail. A man in a tattered cloak with a strange uniform underneath it followed after the beast. Sakura didn't recognize him, but the rift struck fear into her.

"Stay away!" she shouted at the man. His eyes landed on her then the servant standing in front of her.

"Sakura, calm down," Shirou choked out. The tendrils of her dress released him and Rin once she realized that she was holding on to them a little too tightly. Rin was already preparing to fight with her spells if necessary.

"Are you an enemy of humanity or an ally?" Arjuna asked the the man who stood next to the snarling animal.

"I am an ally. You know that," the man took a step forward, but the berserker rose a hand up towards him in warning.

"Then why is it that I sense great evil within you? Make no further moves, enemy of humanity." Arjuna now addressed Shriou. "What are your orders, Master?" he asked again.

"Stand down, Arjuna," the mysterious man spoke instead of Shirou. The berserker ignored him.

"You know my servant's name," Shirou spoke. He was glaring. "You came here for Sakura, didn't you. That's the only reason I can think of another rift appearing like this." He stepped in front of Sakura with his arm out. "I won't let you take her back."

"So then you are already aware of what she is then?" The intruders eyes landed on Rin. "And you're okay with it? I've met you before. I expected more from someone who strictly follows the mages' rules."

"Stop speaking as if you know what's going on here," Rin snapped.

"Oh, but I do know. The girl that you both have accepted as Sakura is an anomaly in this world. I've been looking for her for quite some time. When an anomaly takes root in a world where it doesn't belong, problems arise that eventually lead to the destruction of that world." He looked at Arjuna. "That is not Arjuna. He is not supposed to exist in that form. Not here. I know that better than anyone."

"Arjuna," Shirou called to his servant. "Do you have enough strength to defeat both of them?"

"There is more than enough energy here in this body to eradicate both of these enemies of humanity. Do you wish for me to proceed?"

The cloaked man sighed. "You don't want to do that Arjuna. Think of what would happen to your master if you unleashed that much power in this cramped space." The berserker frowned. "I am here to save humanity just as you are. This place is Tokugawa, yes? It's almost like Chaldea was. It's not a natural occurrence in this world. By listening to the ideas that woman put into your head, you've created this place that will lead to the end of all mages," he warned them. "I can stop that. All I'd need to do is take Sakura back to her world." The man's red eyes studied them all the while.

"What will happen to her?" Rin asked, but her expression betrayed that she already knew the answer. All of them knew which is why the intruder didn't spare a word for the inquiry.

Another rift opened between both groups. A woman with pale purple hair that stopped at her shoulders stumbled out the rift. A child just over a year old was clutched in her arms. "Stop this! All of you just stop it!" she pleaded. It was confusing to say the least. The intruders eyes went wide upon seeing her. "Just leave them alone Ritsuka! You don't have to do this anymore. It's not our responsibility anymore. It's beyond your control. These things will just fix themselves!"

"You shouldn't be here." The man turned his gaze to the beast next to him. "This was your doing!"

"Do not take another step," Arjuna cautioned the man who was on the verge of snapping. "Master, your orders."

"Rin, no! Put your hand down," Shirou pulled her arms away from where she had taken aim at the man across the room.

His eyes landed on Rin. Then darted over to the woman who held on to her now crying child. He held his head as if trying to fight an internal force. Sakura saw his eyes flash a deeper crimson, and his gaze was locked onto the woman who had appeared to stop him. His own family, she realized. Sakura knew what it was like to hurt her own family and not really mean it. She didn't want anyone else to experience that pain.

"Sakura!!" Shirou shouted to stop her, but she had already taken action. She took the hit for the stranger and her child. Arjuna lashed out on the man only for the beast at his side to take action to counter it. So much began to happen all at once. It all went downhill so quickly and for what? What would anyone gain from it but loss?
