Bad idea.

No. Not just bad. It was a terrible terrible idea.

What was he thinking when he agreed to act on Nameer and Amreen's idea?

Stalk her? Really?

What was he? A crazy stalker?

Reaching outside Haya's house, Amaan couldn't help but think this way. He shouldn't have agreed with them. This was not going to do him any good. He should have thought of some better idea, only that he couldn't. So after huge persuasion from Amreen and Nameer, he was here. The only thing left to do was to get off the car and make his way towards the door.

"I seriously don't think its a good idea" Amaan said upteenth time.

"Ok now you are killing me. You gotta get your ass out of the car right now" Amreen said in a frustrated tone

Amaan gifted her with a deathly glare before speaking "Once i am done solving my problem, you are going to get language classes from me" He said in a complete strict elder brotherly tone which still didn't effect Amreen as she in turn blessed him with the eye roll.

"Look Amaan" Nameer spoke, intervening the siblings "you remember when Karim Uncle died, Haya was so depressed that she refused to talk to anyone and locked herself in her room most of the time?" Nameer asked

"How can i forget that? She was pretty shaken" Amaan sighed

"Yeah. Then you also might remember that you are the one who helped her getting back to normal. You sticked around her even when she lashed at you. She didn't wanted to talk to anyone but you made her talk to you."

"Yeah. So? What is your point?" Amaan frowned in confusion

"My point is that you have to do the same. When i said you have to stalk her, i didn't mean you to literally stalk her. Only you were able to get her to talking that time, and you can do it this time as well."

"That situation was different. She wasn't angry at me that day. But, today, i don't know what will come flying towards me when she will see me. Maybe her Heels? No. Wait! She doesn't wear heels. So i guess her stack of books." Amaan said, raising his hands in air

"You deserve that. Now get out!" Amreen said

"Shut up!" Amaan groaned

"She is right. Get out!!" Nameer said

"If this doesn't work, i am going to kill both of you" Amaan said before opening the door and finally making his way towards the door.

"Thank god!" Amreen sighed in relief

"Hey wanna go grab some food?" Nameer suggested

"Yeah. Sure. I am really hungry." Amreen said

"That makes two of us" Nameer said and bringing engine to life, they drove off.

After three knocks, the door was opened by Shahana.

"Amaan?"

"Assalamualaikum Shahana aunty" Amaan greeted

"Walaikumsalam dear. Come in" She greeted back and moved aside to let him in.

"Thank you." He said

Amaan seated himself on black couch in the living room and Shahana sat on adjacent couch.

"Haya didn't told me you were coming?" Shahana said

"Umm. She doesn't know"

"Oh! Surprise visit?"

"Kind of"

"What happened between you two?" Shahana asked, making Amaan's eyes wide in surprise

"I am her mother. I know when something is bothering her" Shahana replied, as if reading Amaan's mind

"I made a mistake long time ago. And now everything is messed up because of that" Amaan sighed

"Does this mistake has something to do with you hating Haya?"

"How do you know?" Amaan asked

"She had to open up to someone. I always knew something was wrong. "

"Yeah. Well.. i don't hate her now"

"I know" Shahana replied and stood up to sit next to him.

"Aren't you angry at me?" Amaan asked

"Maybe yes. Maybe No. You were just a teenager and teenagers make mistakes. But the grown ups are those who realise their mistakes. And you have grown up graciously." Shahana said, ruffling Amaan's hair.

"I love you. I should have married you" Amaan said and hugged her.

"Too late for that" Shahana laughed

"Do you think she will forgive me?" Amaan asked as he broke the hug

"Yes. But you know her. She is a bit stubborn. So you need to work a lot over this" replied Shahana.

Amaan groaned in frustration and leaned his head on the back of couch.

"She is upstairs. Go!!" Shahana said and with a brief nod, Amaan stood up and ascended the stair case.

"This is so unlike you to knock on the door Mom. Just barge in like you always do" Haya shouted from inside as Amaan knocked on her door.

"Can i barge in also?" Amaan asked as he opened the door.

Haya's face shot up from her books and a frown formed on her face as she saw Amaan standing near the door.

"No. Close the door and Go away" She said and continued digging in her book.

"Too late. I am already in" He replied and sat in front of her.

Haya ignored him and continued to study or lets just say pretended to study.

"Nice Hair" Amaan commented and thats when she realized she is without headscarf.

She found it lying on the couch and before Haya could reach it, Amaan grabbed it.

"Give it to me" She growled as she tried to take it from him

"No" Amaan said, moving his arms higher and higher, far from Haya's grip.

"Jerk!! Give it back or i will punch you" She yelled at him

"You have to talk to me or you won't get it back" Amaan replied.

"You are seriously pissing me off" She frowned

"I love pissed off Haya" Amaan commented

"And i hate jerk Amaan. Give it back before i snap your neck" She snapped at him

"Promise me you will talk to me first"

"Why?"

"Because we need to"

"You know what? Keep the scarf. Its not like i can't be without cover in front of you. You are my husband, unfortunately." She said and again sat on her bed and started focussing on her book.

Sighing, Amaan again sat in front of her and passed her the scarf. She quickly took it from him and wrapped it around her head.

"Now can we talk? Please?" Amaan pleaded.

Haya tediously closed the books and glared at him. There was no point wasting her energy by staring at book. She wouldn't be able to study with Amaan being a distraction.

"Fine. Talk." She crossed her arms over her chest and waited for him to speak.

"I am a jerk" Amaan said and mentally face palmed himself. After persuading her for so long, this is what he came up with. But anyways, it was the truth.

"Tell me something i don't know"

"And i messed up everything"

"Yes"

"I shouldn't have trusted her" He said

"Too late to realise because now, i don't trust you. I don't trust you anymore to trust me when i will need it" Haya replied

"I know. But i am ready to do anything just to win that trust back. Please. Just one more chance and i promise i won't be a wanker this time. I will do whatever you say to win you back." He pleaded

"You will do anything?"

"Yeah"

"For now, you can let me study for my exams. I don't want to fail"

Amaan sighed. "Sure. I also don't want my student to fail. But, i can teach you" He offered

"No. Leave now!"

"You will give me a chance? Right?"

"I need time"

"I understand"

"Thanks"

Amaan stood up and turned around to leave when Haya stopped him

"Yes?"

She pointed towards her book and spoke

"I don't understand this graph"

♡☆♡☆♡☆♡

"I am hungry" Haya said and on cue, her stomach grumbled, proving her point.

"See? I am really very hungry" she whined

It was afternoon time and Amaan stayed there to teach Haya. It was only after Amaan started explaining her one graph, she realised she needs lots of help to pass economics. So keeping the bad blood and ego aside, she let him teach her.

"Stop whining and lets go eat something. Its lunch time anyway" Amaan replied

They both went downstairs and walked into living room to find Shahana all dressed up.

"Hey mom! You going somewhere?" Haya asked

"Yeah sweety. I am going to office today. Its been a long time since i visited there." She replied

"But what is the need? You work from home anyway." Haya replied

"Yeah. But i need to drop a visit there sometimes. Since Ibrahim has returned, i haven't been there even once. You two can have lunch. I already had mine. Bye dear. Bye handsome" She left not before ruffling Amaan's hair

"Bye Mom"

"Bye darling"

After Shahana left, Haya started warming up the food.

"It smells good" Amaan commented

"Its Mutton kanti. You like it. Right?" Haya asked

"I love it!"

"You love everything edible" Haya commented

"Look who's talking?"

Haya passed him a bored look and at the same time, microwave beeped. She took out the hot kanti and served it on plates. She took out Dew from the refrigerator and put it on table.

"Are we celebrating something?" He asked as he seated himself

Haya sat on adjacent seat and opened the lid of cold drink.

"Yes. Our first fight after marriage" She replied

"Wow. Thats really worth a celebration. We should throw a huge party" Amaan replied, his tone dripping sarcasm

Haya chuckled and poured the drink in glasses.

"You are really angry at me. Aren't you?" Amaan asked

"Yes" Haya replied as she started digging in her food.

"And i really annoyed you?"

"Thats not an issue. I am used to your annoying nature. I mean, you are almost everytime annoying..so nothing new" Haya said shrugging her shoulders.

"I am not annoying" Amaan scowled

"And i hate One direction"

"Oh! Again state the impossible facts? Huh?"

"Wow. You are intelligent, apparently" Haya commented

"I am"

"Did i said anything?"

"Why are we fighting?"

"We were already in fight. Remember?"

"Yeah. But i thought food will calm you down a bit. Apparently, it gave you more strength to fight"

"Food provides energy. Haven't you read that?"

"I don't even know why we started arguing"

"You were annoying"

"Yeah. Right. So are you"

"I am not"

"You are"

"Call me annoying one more time and i will..." Haya trailed off as she failed to come up with anything

"You will what?"

"I have ran out of threats now."

"Good for me"

"You do realize you bring out the worst in me?"

"And you bring out the best in me"

"I tend to bring out the best in everyone"

"I was kidding"

"So was i"

Silence..

They both stared at each other and cracked into laughter.

"Remind me again, why were we arguing?" Amaan asked between his laughter

"I don't know. Thus was the silliest argument i ever had" replied Haya

"Same here. Hey i remembered why were we arguing. You called me annoying" Amaan exclaimed

"Ok. Now don't start again." Haya said recomposing herself.

"But you are still mad at me." Amaan stated

"I am not mad at you. I am disappointed and i can't help but think how our friendship didn't meant anything to you" Haya said

"It means a lot to me. Believe me. I made a mistake of not trusting you but our friendship meant a lot to me. It still means a lot to me. You mean the world to me." He said holding her hand in between his.

"Give me some time"

"How much?"

"Until thinking about your words don't hurt me anymore" She replied as she slided her hand out of his grip.

"I will wait"
