I

I was nervous. It's been two years since I've seen him...any of them for that matter. Now that I'm over it, fully, I know it's time to face it. People I don't know shouldn't affect my friendships.

I dressed nicer than normal: combat boots, hunter green skinny-jeans, a red and black scarf, a cream colored lace top, and a washed out jean jacket. I was eager and full of nerves that I could barely use to my advantage. This week will be amazing.

What the hell am I talking about? Well, you may know him as the lead singer of Pierce The Veil...but I know him as my best friend, a lover even. Vic and I were together a long time, but we let fans tear us apart which lead to a mutual break-up and this separation. I was too torn to be around them, so I migrated up to Washington for a while. This week, my vacation, I would reunite with long, lost friends.

I stood before the house I once lived. My breathing wasn't steady and the outside around me was spinning. My hand trembled as it pushed the doorbell inward. Within seconds, the door opened before me. I gulped and looked upwards.

"Hey, (Y/N)." His voice was as smooth as honey and he had a genuine smile on his face. He still had that long hair and wore a jacket, shorts, and headband.

"Hi, Vic." I blushed, quickly hugging him. In my mind everything was in slow motion. It was perfect. He was perfect. I had to get over myself. We were never going to get back together...not after what they said.

"How are you?" He allowed me inside and I took off my shoes. Everything looked familiar and in place. The smell, the sounds, the sights, everything was the same. I missed it so much.

"I'm doing fine." I nearly lied. "New job opportunities everywhere. Started modeling..."

"That's great!" He smiled as if nothing was wrong. "You can obviously tell we've all been doing the same thing." He giggled.

"Baby!" I shouted as the little dog ran up to my feet. "Awe, Dini!"

"He missed you so much." I could tell the emotion in Vic's voice at this point. The small laugh he gave was full of sorrow.

"Where's the boys?" I stood up again, all smiles.

"We're in the other room. Tony's ripping Jaime to shreds on Madden."

"As always." I snorted. There was a bunch of yelling as Vic and I headed down the steps to the man cave.

"Fuck you!" I heard Jaime's wail as I turned to find them.

Tony and Jaime were sitting on the love-seat. The defeated controllers were resting on the coffee table. Mike was laughing hard at the mini-bar, holding a beer.

"(Y/N)!" Mike shouted. "We've missed ya'!" He stood up, drunk off his ass and hobbled over to me, catching me in a tight embrace.

"Yeah, good to see you, too." I awkwardly patted him. Vic stood proud and across the room as Jaime and Tony came up and exchanged hugs and greetings.

"So..." Jaime started. We were all back in place but now Vic sat between the two with his arms on the back of the couch as I sat on the table in front of them. "When's the reuniting?"

"What're you talking about?" I giggled, covering my nose as I held a beer.

"When are you and Vic getting together again?" Tony corrected.

"Oh, uh, we didn't plan on that." I said. Vic's face didn't physically change, but I saw an emotional change.

"Really?" Mike shouted from behind me. "You guys are perfect for each other!"

"Yeah! You aren't going to let people you don't know get to you like that?" Jaime shouted.

"Ugh, I'm done." I continued laughing, but felt hurt. I headed up the steps to get rid of the beer and get a proper drink.

"(Y/N)." I heard Tony behind me as I hunted through the fridge. Most of it was beer and condiments.

"Yeah?" I stood up, holding a can of pop and cracking it open.

"Vic really misses you." His voice was quiet.

"Well...we're through. We're just going to be friends." I shrugged, not showing emotion.

"I think you should try again. Ignore people. That's what Erin and I do." Tony suggested, leaning on the island counter.

"Hey guys." Jaime joined the party. I sighed loudly and rolled my eyes.

"Jaime, really." I pinched the bridge of my nose and squeezed my eyes shut.

"Is it happening?" He asked eagerly.

"No, Jaime! Nothing is happening!" I answered him. Tony went over and started whispering in his ear. I squinted my eyes in suspicion.

"Come on, (Y/N). We've got a great thing to show you." Tony linked arms with me.

"He's talented, he's famous, and he's fuego!" Jaime started talking as we made our way down the steps.

"You'll really take interest in this investment." Tony added as Jaime ran ahead and sat next to Vic.

"It's a priceless Victor Fuentes!" Jaime shouted, eyes open. Tony ran over and gave the thumbs up with a crazy face. Vic gave me a heart-warming smile.

"What the hell is even going on?" I looked at both of them.

"You should get back with Vic." Mike twirled around on his bar stool.

"I'm sorry, but I don't just date someone after being separated for two years." I shook my head. "I just don't know right now." I put my arms up in defeat. "It was great seeing you guys, but I just can't."

My emotions wanted to boil over. I walked back up the steps, threw my shoes on, and headed back to the hotel.
