yamaguchi and you were on his bed laying down after school, still in your uniforms and everything.

he chucked his phone on the bed "i'm so bored, let's play the headphone challenge"

"what is that?" you put your hand out.

"it's like, one person puts on headphones and blasts music, then they call someone on speaker"

"ohhhh" you nodded your head. what a stupid game. "you go first"

"deal" yamaguchi handed you his unlocked.

you raised it up, "what am i supposed to do with this?"

he scrolled to his contact list, "pick someone who i should call!"

"oh, okay got it" you nodded your head. as you scrolled through it, there was one name you snickered at just the thought of yamaguchi calling him, mostly deaf.

you pressed on the call button for yamaguchi, putting it on speaker. in the first few rings he picked up...

"what" tsukki greeted.

"hello!" yamaguchi said melodically.

"i'm busy, what do you want" he gruffed.

"he asked what do you want" you enunciated to him silently. yamaguchi nodded his head and he was following whatever you were trying to say to him.

"i want to..." he was trying to decipher what you were saying "eat? no, sleep!"

you were about to burst out laughing everytime yamaguchi talked, which was too weird to sound normal.

"if you want to sleep then sleep" tsukki said lazily.

you shook your head, instructing yamaguchi on what to say.

"no" the ivy-haired boy nodded as he tried to follow along, "i want to- eat!"

"then eat." tsukki simply stated.

"i want to eat with you!" you tried to suggest yamaguchi to tell him that.

"huh?" yamaguchi said with his lips.

you repeated your sentence to him again, except slower so he could hopefully pick up what you were trying to say.

"nooo~"  yamaguchi pursed his lips "i want to eat, you!"

on instinct, you slapped your hand over your forehead in disappointment.

"pardon?" tsukki screeched, like an old lady. your head fell back to a pillow as you felt tears about to flow down your eyes.

"what is this supposed to be for, yamaguchi?" tsukki questioned him.

both you and yams kept silent.

"did y/n make you do this?" tsukki asked.

you put a hand over your mouth as you looked at yamaguchi.

"yamaguchi tell me now." he sounded so serious, you wanted to burst out laughing so bad.

yamaguchi's face was so scared. he looked over to you and you made a 'x' with your fingers.

"no" yamaguchi replied.

his response made you fall onto the floor as you held in all the laughter could. yamaguchi watched you roll off the bed and accidentally let out a giggle.

"yamaguchi, are you laughing?" tsukki was getting increasingly frustrated with each second.

you stuck out your hand and put a thumbs up.

"yes" yamaguchi said confidently.

"bye" tsukki left the call.

yamaguchi threw off the headphones and started laughing with you. "you fell off the bed!" he exclaimed.

"god, you just had to hear that conversation" you laughed.

"okay, your turn" he pointed at you as he said between breaths.

"okay okay" you handed him your phone as you clutched your stomach.

"i don't know if you know this person..." yamaguchi took your phone and started typing in somebody's number.

you peeked over. suddenly, you recognised the profile picture that popped up. before you could stop him, he pressed on it.

"oh you have his number saved!" yamaguchi pointed out, amused.

your hands all of a sudden became clammy, "oh yeah..." oh fuck.

"why is his name" he squinted his eyes for a moment, "stinky ho-"

"hinata put it for me!" you said quickly.

you hoped he wouldn't get suspicious of how defensive you sounded when you said that.

he laughed. "that's crazy."

yamaguchi pressed on 'call' and you awkwardly put on your headphones, the music filling your ears as you could hear zero noise from outside, not even the ringing of your cellphone.

he picked up the phone.

"hello?" kageyama greeted.

you were unsure if he even said anything so you. yamaguchi did a waving motion at you.

"hi!" you said, a little too loudly.

your greeting itself made yamaguchi already start giggling softly again.

"how are you doing?" you talked loudly enough that you could hear yourself through the music. it was really loud music.

"umm.. i'm doing good?" kageyama responded, confused.

lost, you looked at yamaguchi and he gave you a thumbs up.

"good!"

you shouted, making yamaguchi laugh to himself again as he plunged his head into a pillow.

"uhh.." kageyama was unsure of what to say.

you glanced at yamaguchi, he mouthed softly to you, "ask him if you can kiss him"

"no"

"do it"

"can i kiss you?" you said loudly.

"you already did." kageyama replied.

yamaguchis mouth opened wide, the look on his face made you wonder what kageyama said.

how does he even remember that? yamaguchi thought to himself.

"wait what?" you sounded out.

"you heard me" kageyama nonchalantly said.

your best friends face was flabbergasted all over, him trying his best to not scream at kageyamas responses.

"what did he say?" you muttered.

instead of giving you a response, yamaguchi gave you a perverted smile. you gave him a side eye.

"ew" you judged him silently.

the silence on your end made kageyama confused, "umm, y/n?"

yamaguchi jumped up again. "you guys are on a first name basis?" yamaguchi mouthed to you.

"what?" you mouthed back.

"i said are you on a first name basis with him?"

"hello?" kageyama said on the other line.

you recognised the words 'first name' and your mouth dropped. oh shit.

"no no!" you mouthed, trying to convince yamaguchi otherwise.

"y/n?" kageyama called for you.

yamaguchi put his hand over his mouth, baffled.

"i hate you!" you screamed at yamaguchi, but realised that you were literally on a call with kageyama.

"are you sure? you're literally my girlf-"

"OOH, BUT THIS IS ALL THAT I AM~" you suddenly screamed at the top of your lungs. yamaguchi put both hands over his lips as you started singing.

"what..." kageyama murmured.

"okay i got to go, bye!" you grabbed the phone off the bed.

"y/n are you oka-" he got cut off as you ended the call. you immediately took of your headphones and wondered what the hell he said to make yamaguchi react like that.

"what did he say?" you interrogated.

you tried to ask him but all your best friend could do was laugh hysterically at the conversation that just occured.
