Ch. 25 - Chocolate Pudding

I OPENED MY EYES, and I saw Lisa sitting in a chair beside me. Ross was on the other side of me in a chair, and they both looked up at me and smiled.

"Campbell, how are you feeling, sweetie?" Lisa asked me, holding my hand.

"I-I remember," I said with a smile. "I remember everything."

Ross and Lisa looked at each other, and they grinned, happily. Lisa even had a few tears roll down her cheeks.

"That's amazing!" Ross exclaimed, running a hand through his hair.

I started to sit up when I winced in pain. I looked down to see my left hand in a splint.

"You bruised your spine, two ribs, sprained your ankle, and fractured your wrist," Ross informed me.

"How did this happen?" I asked, trying to remember.

"Grace was on the phone with you, and she heard you fall down the stairs," Lisa explained with a soft expression.

I shook my head,"No. I-I caught myself. I had a memory, but I caught myself."

"Then how did you end up in a hospital bed?"

My eyes widen when I remembered somebody pushing me. Then they stepped over me, and they left the scene.

"Somebody pushed me," I said as fear went through my body.

"Who would push you?" Lisa asked me, trying to piece everything together.

"I don't know. Malcom and Jax are in jail, and anybody who doesn't like me right now wouldn't try and kill me."

"We will inform the police, and we will look at security cameras. We will find who did this to you," Ross promised me, angrily.

"Please don't tell the boys," I begged them. "They have already suffered so much from people trying to get to me. I don't want them to worry over this. At least, not until we know for certain."

"If that's what you then, okay," Lisa reassured me.

"Where are my brothers?" I asked, noticing that they were not in the room.

"Home. They were here, but you were resting. Brent was here also. They would have stayed longer, but visiting hours were over," Ross replied.

"Oh," I said as a yawn escaped my mouth.

"You should rest. You have had a long day," Lisa suggested, making me nod.

"Okay. I love you, Mom and Dad," I said as my eyelids grew heavy.

"We love you, too," Dad replied while Mom smiled.

Within a few minutes, I fell asleep.

"She is going to kill you," I heard Brent's voice say.

"I'll throw it away before she wakes up," Nick replied.

I opened my eyes to see Brent in the chair next to me, holding my hand. Nick was standing up, watching the small tv. He was eating something out a plastic container.

"Are you eating my pudding?" I asked, making Brent and Nick look back at me.

Nick's eyes widen, and he swallowed the pudding that was in his mouth.

"No," he quickly defended himself.

"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that's my chocolate pudding," I replied with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't know what you are talking about," Nick said before eating another bite.

"Nick, just because my ankle is sprained doesn't mean I won't tackle you," I threatened, making Brent chuckle.

"And on that note, I'm going to go get you some more chocolate pudding. I'll be back," Nick said, scared, throwing the empty container in the trash can. Nick left me and Brent alone.

"I tried to warn him," Brent told me, making me wave it off.

"It's fine, really. I'm not hungry right now anyways. Where are the rest of my brothers?"

"The twins and Micheal went out to eat. They just left," Brent replied as he ran a hand through his hair.

"So, you taught me how to ice skate and I taught you how to bowl?"

"You remember?" Brent asked looking like a child who opened a Christmas present.

"I got all of my memories back, Brent. I guess, I must have hit my head as I fell and it gave me my memories back," I explained, making him smile.

"That's great. I'm happy for you."

"So no kisses? No cuddles? What have you done with Brent Mason?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

He gave me a side smile as he bit his lip.  "Sorry, I'm being distant. I just can't get over the fact that I let you go to the stairway by yourself. I knew about your balance problems, and I wasn't even thinking."

"Brent, this is not your fault. It's nobody's fault. It was an accident," I said as guilt went through my body as I lied to him.

It was somebody's fault.

Whoever pushed me was at fault.

"I guess," he replied with a shrug. "At least, Micheal order bubble wrap for you."

My mouth dropped,"You guys did not!"

Brent's grin returned. "We sure did. It should be here within forty-eight hours."

"I'll have a sling!"

"Campbell, this hospital is your best friend! In another week, you'll be right back in this bed. So bubble wrap is a great idea since you have no balance," Brent replied, making me lightly push him.

"Well, at least I'm not the bad bowler in this relationship," I taunted, making him scoff, playfully.

"Excuse you. I hit four pins! Thank you very much!" He exclaimed, leaning in.

I smiled, and he brushed his lips over mine. Then he sat back down in his seat, making me pout.

"That was just cruel," I objected, crossing my arms over my chest.

"That is payback for what you said," he said with a smirk.

"Don't make me get out of this bed," I threatened, already throwing the blanket off of me.

Brent quickly stood up, and he stopped me from getting up. He placed a quick kiss on my lips, and that's when the door opened.

Brent and I broke apart to see Nick standing there in the doorway with four chocolate puddings in his hands.

"My innocent eyes!" Nick exclaimed, sarcastically.

"Oh, shush!" Brent joked, sitting next to me on the bed.

"My chocolate pudding!" I said, excitedly.

"Do you know how hard it is to get chocolate pudding in this place?" Nick asked, walking over to us.

He gave me a chocolate pudding, and I tore the lid off. I grabbed a spoon off my food tray, and I took a bite out of it.

"Chocolate pudding!" Gaberial exclaimed, coming through the doorway.

"No!" I exclaimed, hugging my babies.

Gaberial pouted,"But I'm starving!"

"You literally just ate two burgers and a large fry," Gavin told his twin as him and Micheal walked into the room.

"And?" Gaberial argued.

Micheal shook his head, and he changed the subject. "How is your wrist, Cam?"

"It doesn't hurt so that's good," I said before taking another bite of my pudding.

"How in the heck are you suppose to get in a dress for winter formal?" Nick asked, sitting on the other side of me.

"I am not going to Winter Formal this year. Last year was fun, other than the fact Malcom got out of prison," I said with a shrug.

The boys, except Brent, dropped their mouths open.

"Y-you remember?" Gavin asked, making me nod.

"I remember everything," I informed them with a proud smile.

Then they all cheered. I laughed, and they each hugged me, gently.

"So you remember like everything?" Micheal asked, nervously.

He's talking about his secret.

I nodded,"Yes."

He took a deep breath, and he nodded.

"Plus, Dad already said that I am going to be on bed rest for the next week," I added.

"Oh no!" Nick exclaimed. "What about New York? Are you still going to be hurting by then?"

"We can get one of those scooter things!" Gaberial suggested.

"Or a wheelchair!" Gavin said.

"Or Brent could just give her a piggyback ride," Maya said, walking into the room.

"Maya, are you excited to go back home for the holidays?" I asked, setting the chocolate pudding back down on the food tray.

Maya is going to New York City a few days before Christmas to spend the holiday with her father. Nick, Nichole, Brent, and I are also staying with Maya when we get to New York City.

"I am very excited. It's just going to be me and my father, and it's going to be awesome."

"That's great," I replied, happily.

"Alright, who ordered chick flick movies and gummy bears?" Madison asked as she and the rest of the girls walked into the room.

"Hey, guys," I said as Madison set the bag down on the table.

"So a sprained ankle and a wrist fracture? What are we going to do with you?" Nichole asked, wrapping her arms around Nick.

"Undoubtedly, wrap me up in bubble wrap," I replied, sarcastically.

"So, Mean Girls or She's the Man?" Hailey asked, holding both movies up.

"She's the Man, duh," I said as she opened the disk.

"How long are you going to be in here?" Jordan asked me, making me shrug.

"A week. Then I have to go home for a week. So I won't be back at school until January."

"Oh," she replied.

Everybody got situated in the tiny room. Brent sat beside me on the bed, Madison and Gavin were on the couch, Jordan and Micheal were in the two chairs, and the rest of them were on a blanket pallet Nick made.

We all watched the movie, and I was eating my second cup of chocolate pudding. Instead of using a spoon, I was using the gummy bears the girls brought me.

Brent took a gummy bear, and he dipped it into the pudding like me. Then he plopped it pin his mouth.

"He gets to eat your chocolate pudding but I don't?! How is that fair?!" Nick exclaimed before being shushed by Nichole.

I laid my head on Brent's chest, and he kissed the top of my head.

"And when my eyes are closed, I can see you for who you truly are, which is UGLAAY!" The girl on the tv said, making all of us laugh.

On the outside I was laughing and happy, but on the inside, I was stressing about who would push me down the stairs.

Clary and Naomi wouldn't dare because they would ruin their future.

Dean and Evie wouldn't because of Alec.

And speaking of Alec, I have something to say to that jerk.

And it ain't going to be pretty.
