Chapter 27

Not knowing who those people were or what they meant to Olivia , was troubling her more than She cared to admit. She couldn't talk to anyone about it because they'd all think that she was crazy.

Sbe wouldn't even believe her, why would anyone else?

Things were becoming hectic at the bureau. There were tons of people power walking around the place like they had such purpose. Olivia stood idly by while everyone around her buzzed like busy bee's.

What she hated more was the fact that they still kept herself and Miles's sad little desks together. It needed to be burned and then the ashes should be scattered in the Pacific ocean.

Lately she's been thinking alot about Miles and this place. Somewhere throughout all that thinking she had come to the conclusion that this place is not for her. All she has done is bring shame to the FBI name and honestly speaking she would call herself a slightly under average FBI agent. And if you still believe in her and want hee to stay and protect the world from all its dangers than fat chance! Might as well stop reading this book right now, because I can tell you how it ends, with Olivia getting as far away as she can from here and the warden... I mean, Director Clark and his brown nosers.

Speaking of the devil. Olivia was so paranoid about him entering this building. That would mean that the press conference was about the start. And that would also mean that she was about to address the entire country, who I'm sure hated her as much as she hated herself.

Clark walked in sharply dressed in a crisp new navy blue Armani suit. The sight of him seemed to drain her very soul from her body.

"Quinn, what did get?" He asked as he passed her and carried on walking.

Olivia ran to catch up with him.

"Well, Sir, upon first glance the couple seems to have a knack for using bio weapons to get what they want," She explained.

"Tell me something I don't know," Clark stated arrogantly.

"Right, well, they've never actually used any Bio weapons on the public."

Clark stopped walking.

"They only threatened the use of them. It says here in their files that, both of them are extremely skilled in Marshal Arts as well as target training, but non of them was ever documented as knowing anything whatsoever about chemistry. Unless ofcause they had an additional person working for them."

"Or they've been bluffing," Clark suggested.

"Precisely," She added.

"Great!" Ckark turned around in excitement. "I'll have Miles follow up on that."

"Sir?" She asked confused.

"I mean Will, sorry," He's face turned bright red as he apologised.

"speaking of Agent Callaghan," He continued. "Where is your speech?"

"It's right here Sir."

Olivia reached into the inside pocket of her blazer and pulled out her notepad and handed it to Clark. His worried face scanned the paragraphs rather hastly.

"What is this?" Ckark asked confused.

"It's my speech."

"It's nonsense! Thats what it is. Not to mention way too emotional and personal," He threw the notepad against her but before sbe could grab it, it fell to the floor.

She bent to pick it up and as ahe did, a fit of rage soon spread throughout her body.

"It's the truth!" She yelled.

"The public doesn't want to know the truth!" Clark yelled back at her. "All they want to know is if justice has been served and that the professionals, meaning us are actually doing our jobs."

"Do you expect me to change it just minutes before we go on?" She asked worried.

"No!" He he growled as he spoke. "I'll do this myself, I should of known you'd screw this up, like you do with everything."

"Sir, with all due respect, you cannot speak for me," She argued.

"I cannot? Really? Are you sure about that?" He's actions became more and more violent as he spoke.

"As the Director of this organisation, with thirty years of experience under my belt, you think I'm going to let a newbie with only two years of experience working in the field, who also might I add has serious narcissistic tendencies about her, being that she thinks that every man that walks in here wants to fuck her! You think I would let you tell me what I can and cannot do?! You're sincerely mistaken missy."

"When I get to the podium make sure you stand behind me looking sincere. If you do anything to disrupt me in anyway, I will personally make your life hell. Am I clear?"

"Yes," She gulped.

"Thats a good girl. Now I have to deal with these morons in the press asking questions and sticking their noses where is doesn't belong."

Clark walked up onto stage and stood behind the dark wood podium, which had the FBI coat of arms on it.

Will stood just a few inches behind him next to a few other senior agents. Jaxson Geller and Patrice Smoulders. The very people she once idolised and strived to be like.

Olivia slowly walked on after Clark and walked to stand next to Patrice. She locked her hands together and placed them firmly infront of her. Her head turned down as he began to speak.

The flashing lights felt so hot on her face and She couldn't help but feel like everybody had their eyes on her, instead of Clark. They seemed fixated with the scars on her face. Maybe they don't believe that they're real.

"The recent situations that has taken over the media these last couple of days have been greatly exaggerated and blown out of proportion. Not to mention the amount of lies and rumours that has been circling. Well I'm here today to out them all to rest. Yes, we are looking tirelessly and desperately for Toby Fisher and Shelby Fisher. We have received new leads as well as evidence from the LAPD. we assure you that no more law inforcement blood or any other innocent blood will be shed at the hands of these criminals.

Onto the second order of business. Miss Quinn has filled the necessary charges against Miles Callahan, and his trial date is soon to be determined. The bureau has spared no expense when it comes to helping Junior Agent Olivia Quinn throughout this terrible time. We plan to make sure she receives the therapy she needs to function as the once decent agent she was. I assure you, justice will be serves.

Violence again woman was and will never be tolerated by the FBI. Miss Quinn will serve as a beacon of hope for all woman who has dealt or is currently deal with this. May they all find justice like she did. Thats all."

Clark tried to walk off stage but the crowd became rowdy shouting out their questions at him. He walked back to the podium and scanned the room.

He then pointed at a pale, red haired man a couple of rows down.

The man stood up with his voice recorder and asked.

"Why isn't Miss Quinn speaking for herself? We were promised that she would."

"Well, Miss Quinn felt rather emotional today and asked that I speak on her behalf."

Clark answered and then pointed to a skinny blonde lady who had her hair in a messy bun.

"Do you think that the Fishers might have already fled the country?" She asked awkwardly.

"Absolutely, not," Clark answered briefly.

"Thats it, no more questions," He announced and then walked off stage.

✖-----------------------------------------------✖

All Olivia could think about during the drive back to Messers place was getting to see his face, his smile, after the day she had. She wanted more however. She wanted to hold him, well actually she wanted him to hold her tight in his giant arms. It always made her feel so safe when he held her like that. Like nothing could ever hurt her.

She walked into the house and seen Wolf and Messer sitting on the couch watching the news.

"Don't you knock anymore?" Wolf asked annoyed.

"I hardly think it's necessary anymore," She rolled her eyes at him.

Messer stood up and came to give her a short embrace.

"Are you okay," He asked.

She smiled. She couldn't imagine how many times he's asked her that. But she always got this weird, warm feeling inside everytime he did.

"I'm fine Mes," She replied.

"Damn, these people are badass," Wolf stated as the news reporter began talking about Shelby and Toby Fisher.

"Yeah, and smart too. They bureau has no idea where they are and trust me The FBI knows a thing or two about catching criminals, but these two has them beat," She explained.

"You were on TV today," Messer quickly changed the subject.

"I know, I thought I was going to hurl," She replied.

"You know that everyone in East Los now knows you're a Fed, they might want to come after you for snitching on their friends," Messer warned.

"I know, but I might not be a Fed for much longer," She stated.

"Why not," Messer asked concerned.

"I'm not meant for that life Mes, it's just not who I am."

"Lets celebrate!" Wolf yelled and ran to the kitchen.

As he did, a quick reply of Clarks speech came on TV.

"You looked so different," Messer noticed.

"That's because I was in uniform," She replied then smiled at him.

We stared at each other untill Wolf ran back into the room with three champagne glasses and a huge bottle of champagne.

"Oh my God," She gasped at the mere size of that bottle.

"I was saving this for a special occasion, but whats more special than you leaving that soul sucker of a place," He spoke excitedly.

"And I'm not taking no for an answer blondie, you better drink this glass of champagne or so help me God, I will pour this entire bottle down your throat."

"Okay, okay. No need to be so aggressive about it," She replied.

Wolf popped open the champagne and and poured it into the three glasses.

Wolf raised his glass to the sky and simply said, "To us."

They repeated what he said and then clinked their glasses together. Olivia drank the champagne. The whole glass actually. But what she enjoyed more was the moment they had. It was sweet. She started to feel like this two people right here were becoming her family. It's not such a bad thing considering she never had any in the first place.

At that moment they heard a car pull up into the drive way. Wolf walked to the window with his glass in hand and peaked through the blinds.

"You better take this one blondie," Wolf smirked.

"Who is it?" She asked confused.

"you'll see."

Olivia opened the door and seen a figure standing next to a car with its lights on.

"Olivia?" a voice called out.

"Chloe?" She asked as soon as she heard her voice.

They stared at each other for a full two minutes thinking about what to say.

"What are you doing here?" Shr2 asked.

"Well I was going to your house but then I remembered..." She trailed off

"I saw the news and I read the papers. But I refused to believe it, untill I saw your face this morning... On TV."

It seemed like she found it difficult to talk about what happened.

"Is it true?" She asked.

"Yes, it is," Olivia replied.

She sighed loudly.

"Olivia I am so sorry," She began crying.

"It's okay Chlo, it's not your fault," Olivia assured her.

"But it is. I was your partner, I should of been there but I wasn't."

Chloe burst into a whale of a cry and Olivia quickly ran down the porch to go and comfort her.

"Do you want to come inside?" She asked as she held her shaking body.

"Oh no. I'd rather not. Wolf he... He can't stand to look at me," she replied as she gazed at the house behind them.

"I'm sure he'll come around Chlo. He has a heart. And I was genuinely surprised when I found out," Olivia joked.

Chloe laughed through her tears.

"Why did he forgive you so quickly?" She asked.

"Perhaps because I don't mean as much to him as you do. Thats why its so hard. He really loves you Chlo."

"I-I know, and I love him too. More than he knows," She admitted.

"I'll try to talk to him for you, okay?" She assured Chloe.

"Thanks Quinn. Take care of yourself please."

"I'll try to," She joked.

She got into her car without taking her eyes off of the house. Olivia waved her off as she sped away.

When Olivia entered the house Wolf stood right next to the door, waiting for her to come in, and he waited for ger to tell him something, anything about Chloe.

"She seems like she's doing fine," Olivia announced.

"Well, thats good... For her," Wolf stated.

"Why don't you just talk to her? Just atleast try to," She pestered him.

"Probably because she ripped my heart out of my chest."

"You know what will make your heart feel better?" She asked him.

"What?" He asked irritably.

"Alil forgiveness," She smiled foolishly.

"You're such a cheesy Lil idiot," He joked and softly punched her arm.

Olivia took a seat next to Messer on the sofa and laid hrr head back and sighed. She slowly closed her eyes and tried to relax her mind. She couldn't relax though, because she felt Messers eyes travelling all over her.

"What?" She asked.

"Nothing," He smiled.

It would be so easy to just grab his face right now and kiss him.

"Penny for your thoughts?" He found it necessary to ask since Olivia seemed to zone out for a second.

"I was thinking about how it would be so easy to just grab your face and kiss you right now," She admitted.

"So why don't you?"

"Because it's just way to complicated," She replied.

"Things are already complicated. Whats your other excuse?"

"Well, your brother is literally standing right there, eating chips and watching us," Olivia pointed to where Wolf stood with a packet of lays chips, munching away and starring at them .

Messer burst into a roar of laughter.

"Oh I see where I'm not wanted," He took his bag of chips and proceeded towards his room.

"Oh and don't stay up too late. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow," He stated.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Heist planning, remember? " Wolf looked at her dumbfounded.

"Oh yeah! Thats right... shit I forgot," Olivia realised.

"You don't have to do it," Messer stated concerned.

"No, no. This time I'm going to finish what I've started."
