I wake up and notice the tv is still on, it's still dark so I check my side table clock. It reads 3:47, almost 4 in the morning. Hadley is softly sleeping on my chest my one arm already around her. With my other hand I reach for the remote and turn off the tv. Hadley stirs in my arm. I wrap my other arm around her loosely.

"What time is it?" She whispers. I woke her up.

"Early, sorry I woke you." I whisper back, now adjusting myself into a more comfortable place.

"It's okay." She sounds still completely asleep.

I kiss the top of her head as she snuggles into me more. "Go back to sleep."

"Okay." She says very lightly.

I could do this all the time. Waking up in the middle of the night and seeing Hadley's face restfully sleeping.

"Dustin?" She whispers once again.

"Mmhum?"

"I'm sorry for being so uptight." She says

"Hey it's okay, you just got to learn to live a little. I'll help you out, don't worry."

"You know what I love about you Dustin?" She asks finally turning her head to look at me. Her hair is a little messy and her eyes look tired yet fully aware.

I run my fingers through her hair to tame it a little. "How great I am, plus I'm pretty hot." I smile at her.

She laughs and hits me lightly moving to sit cross legged facing me. "Yes, but I love how alive you make me feel."

"You know, I really love how you enjoy the simple things. You and your family make everyday things seem like the best of things."

"I try my best." She smiles.

"Now can you come her and we can go back to sleep. I sleep better with you." I say to her.

She lays back down and we fix ourselves to the same spots we were in before. Hadley brings the blanket up to her as close as she can.

"I love you doll."

"I love you Fox."

I managed to get out of the bed without waking up Hadley. I slip out of my room and to the kitchen. I figure why not continue her perfect yesterday into a perfect today too. So I'm going to make her breakfast in bed. When I get into the kitchen my mom is already siting at the island coffee mug in hand. She always was an early riser.

"Good morning sweetie." She says when she sees me.

"Good morning Mom." I reply, kissing her on the cheek. "Have a good night out with dad?"

"It was a nice break from all the work we do." She smiles finishing up her cup of coffee. "Good night with Hadley?"

"Oh yeah, I'm glad you made me go to school. I would have still been moping around." She gives me that' I told you so' look. I open the fridge grabbing a few eggs, cracking and beating them. Pouring the into a heated pan I make some scrambled eggs.

"Dustin?" My Mom says from behind me, I turn to her after I've put some slices of bread in the toaster. "Is Hadley still here?" She asks, eyebrow raised.

"Uh... yeah. We put a movie on and just kinda feel asleep." I finish scrambling the eggs and putting half onto a plate. The toast pops.

"Dustin.." she says, I know what she's thinking.

"That's all that happened Mom, I promise." I butter the toast, cut them into triangles and put two on the plate. I grab a fork and put it on the plate as well as pour a cup of coffee. I rest against the counter and eat some of the leftover eggs and a slice of toast before I gather the plate and mug to bring up to Hadley.

I push the door open with my shoulder. Hadley is still asleep peacefully, her hair sprawled over the pillow. I set thee plate and cup on the side table and sit on the bed beside her. I move her hair from her face with my hand.

"Doll, wake up." I whisper to her.

Her eyes flutter open. She smiles at me as she sits up on her elbows. She rubs the sleep from her eyes.

"Good morning." She smiles happily, sitting up fully and letting the blanket that covered her fall.

"I made you some food." I say picking up the plate and handing it to her.

"Oh look at you master chief." She picks up the fork and  eats away at the eggs and toast.

I pick up the mug from the table and take a sip. Nothing like a steaming coffee in the morning to wake you up. Hadley reaches her hand out like asking for the mug. I hand it over and she takes a sip. She hands the mug back.

"You make a mean coffee, though I like my vanilla better."

"Well." I put the mug down on the side table. "Sorry I'm no fancy coffee shop." I take a slice of her toast and pop it into my mouth.

"Oh don't worry love, your coffee is still divine." She says mocking a British accent and waving her hand down like a, oh honey kinda gesture.

"I'm pleased you like the beverage my lady." I say bowing my head and laughing.

"Thanks for yesterday, really. I didn't realize how much a needed that."

I lay down on the bed, starring up at the ceiling. "Well, least I can do."

She sits and I lay in silence for a few minutes, Hadley breaks the silence with an excited squeal. She gets up abruptly. I sit up confused until I see Hadley bend down and pick up gizmo.

"Hey there gizmo!" She says lightly, petting gizmo on the head. She walks back over to the bed and sits on the edge. She places gizmo on her lap and the cat starts to purr and closes his eyes. Just like a cat to fall asleep. "Awe, you're such a cute little kitty."

"You have to say that, you gave him to me." I laugh

"Nah, he's the cutest. Plus his name is just adorable."

I join her at the end of the bed and give gizmo a tiny pet on the head.

"I should probably go, I have to do some homework, get lunch together for Oliver and my dad." She says, putting a kiss on the top of gizmos head.

"I guess since I used your car you don't need me to drive you." I say pouting.

Hadley laughs a little, moving gizmo off her lap. "Oh," she starts look back at me, I should probably change, into my clothes from yesterday."

"Right." I say getting up off the bed s going to grab her clothes from the dryer. Of course she wouldn't want to go home in my clothes, it'll give the wrong idea to her dad. Then again Hadley is a good girl, innocent, her dad would most likely not even question it. One of the only kids in the whole school I would say that actually has her parent's trust and approval.

"Here." I say handing over her now clean and dry clothes.

"Thank you." She takes the clothes from me and heads to my bathroom to change. I know Hadley, she's going to go home and get straight to work. Helping around her place, catching up on homework. I'll make sure to call her later, make sure she's taking some time to breath.

I took the opportunity of Hadley changing to check my phone. I had a text from Jessica. She said she was glad Hadley and are are on good terms again, and she demanded that I make Hadley go on more excursions with her. I told her it's really up to Hadley, unless she gets to crisis point again and I ha to physically pull her away from the stress of life that she's burdened with.

"Thanks again." I hear Hadley say once she re enters the room. "I really needed it."

"Glad to have been able to help, and please if you even need, in here." I smile, she returns a warm welcoming grin. "Oh and Jessica wants o go on more adventures with you, as in you guys should make it a regular thing."

"Yeah I got that message too. Honestly I think I'll try and do it more often, even if it's just hanging out at her place. I can't exactly do all the glitz and glamor all the time. You know money."

"Doll, I can always pay for you I really don't..." I start

I'm cut off by Hadley, "Dustin, I can not ask you to do that."

"Why not?" My heart beats in my chest, it's risky but I decide to say it. "Boyfriends pay for things for their girlfriends, and I am your boyfriend right?"

She stays silent for a second, I can hear the blood rushing through my ears, trying to stay collected and remain calm. She opens her mouth to speak.
