7 - I want a life with you

Lee had never been a patient man. By the time he finished high school, he'd fucked his way through every girl in his class and a couple of the guys. With a reputation like his, it was easy for him to get into anyone's bed. Not that they made it to a bed: usually it would be in the back of his car after he'd driven them to a clearing in the woods.

He may have appeared to be a selfish lover, but, above all else, he prided himself on pleasuring others. After speaking with the other deputies on the force, he'd learnt almost none of them could make a woman orgasm. So Lee was determined to make each of his conquests climax before he did. Just knowing that he had the power to make his dates come undone at his touch was enough to sustain him sexually for days.

Due to this, Lee had never desired to date someone exclusively. Why would he need to settle down, when he could have every woman wrapped around his fingertips? And most of his lovers were after one of two things: his money or his sexual ability. None of them even bothered to make conversation with him. Just a quick bat of their eyes and a suggestive comment before arranging a time to meet.

So Lee stopped approaching women altogether. He didn't need to speak to them. He knew they'd come and find him anyway, why bother trying to seduce them? All he had to do was sit in the bar late at night, or the diner, or even the grocery store, and he'd receive multiple propositions from them. Sometimes he'd take them up on their offer if he needed to let off a bit of steam after work, but most of the time he just ignored them. It almost became too boring for him.

As he got older, his little rendevous became less frequent and the only offers he received were from prostitutes. All the women his age didn't interest him anymore and those who did were already married with multiple children by now. Desperate for release, he'd meet with the women from Tecumseh, taking them for a drive in his police cruiser. He'd pay them upfront but wait for them to actually make a move. If they didn't, he'd offer to take them home. Lee didn't want to pressure them into anything, knowing that all of them just needed the money and were not attracted to him.

But he knew the prostitutes didn't care. As long as he kept paying them, he could keep seeing them. So Lee stopped caring. He knew at this point that no one would ever be attracted to him for his personality and his looks had been slowly diminishing.

He knew he'd become less attractive as he aged: the picture from the day he received his deputy badge constantly reminded him of that. A few grey hairs, the beginnings of wrinkles and the most obvious change: his weight. After being elected all those years ago, he'd stopped going out on patrol with the deputies, instead being forced to sit at his desk for hours, sorting through paperwork. The only time he'd have to leave was for his daily visits to the diner. It killed two birds with one stone: he needed to eat and he needed to keep the support of the town.

Usually, he'd meet with one of the women twice a week, but it'd been over five weeks since he'd seen any of them. Because he'd met you.

Oh, how he wished he was an artist so that he could perfectly capture your beauty and preserve it in paint. The first time he saw you, he thought he'd died and an angel was sent to escort him to heaven. A captivating smile was etched across your face as you gestured for him to take a seat, bringing the diner menu over to him and taking out your notepad. He'd been so mesmerised that he barely managed to say his order but you only returned his speechlessness with a small laugh.

It might have sounded crazy, especially as he'd only met you once and had struggled to even talk to you, but he knew from that moment that he needed to be with you. Not just for a one-night stand. But in a relationship. He wanted you to grow old with him. And he wanted to actually try this time.

He knew he didn't want you to sleep with him immediately, so instead, he arranged for Estelle (that may have been her name) to take a drive with him later that evening. But once he was inside her, his face glistening after making her come undone with only his mouth, your name was the only sound apart from deep groans echoing around the car. It felt like he was betraying you by sleeping with her, so he'd stopped meeting with the other women at all.

Since that night, he'd been in the diner every day without fail. He'd learnt that you were only supposed to work weekdays, but most of the time you picked up extra shifts on Sunday mornings when everyone else was at Church. That was Lee's favourite time to see you. There would be virtually no one else in the diner, only those who didn't go to Church, which wasn't a lot in Knockemstiff, and he could spend hours talking to you without interruption.

He knew that he needed to be with you and if you refused, he'd remain celibate for the rest of his life. But Lee's youthful impatience was growing. He needed to ask you out soon.

It was starting to snow as Lee walked into the diner early that Sunday morning. He'd sat in his cruiser for a few moments, admiring you as you began unlocking the building, before following you inside. You were only wearing your yellow, diner uniform but Lee knew you'd have to walk through the snow later. Terrified at the thought of you freezing to death, Lee vowed to offer you a lift home after you finished. He wouldn't offer straight as he walked in, instead he'd wait until there was an hour left of your shift, not wanting to scare you away.

Anger had been growing in you as you walked to work that morning, not prepared for the weather and silently cursing yourself for not bringing a coat. Then your key got jammed in the building's lock and you had to spend a few minutes forcibly twisting it before you could get inside. But the irritation you felt quickly dissipated when Lee walked into the diner.

Ever since meeting him those weeks ago, you had a small crush on the Sheriff. He was perfect. His demeanour was stern and threatening to others but you knew him as compassionate and warm-hearted. The grey strands of his hair complimented the steel blue of his eyes. The wrinkles etched across his forehead highlighted his hard-working attitude. The soft curves of his body made it incredibly hard for you not to kiss him on sight. So maybe you were actually in love with the Sheriff.

"Hey sweetheart," Lee spoke softly, removing his jacket and placing it onto the seat next to him, "Bit quiet today ain't it?"

"We've only just opened Sheriff," you chuckled, "Not everyone spends their whole Sunday morning in the diner."

"Well everyone else is dumb then," he leaned his arm over the back of the booth, "Would rather be here than sat in that stuffy Church darling."

"Hmmm," you pretended to think, "Don't think that's the real reason, Lee."

"Then what is the real reason Y/N?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out," you walked back to the counter leaving him speechless once again. You were going to be the death of him.

A few more diners came in whilst you set up the other booths so you couldn't speak to Lee for over an hour. Only being able to see you but not speak to you was melting Lee's confidence. Why would someone as perfect as you want to be with him? What if you spoke to every customer the way you spoke to him? Before he could spiral further into self-doubt, you placed a menu in front of him.

"So Sheriff," you didn't even bother to take your notepad, already knowing his order by heart, "You having the usual?"

"You know me so well sweetheart," his smirk growing, "Don't know how I'd eat without you."

"We all know you'd starve to death if you didn't come to the diner every day," you joked, "You need to learn to cook for yourself Lee, or better yet, find a wife to cook for you."

"Don't need a wife when I've got you, darling," his confidence suddenly returned.

"Real smooth Sheriff," picking up his menu to deliver it to another table, "I'll be back in a moment."

True to your word, you were back in a moment with his order, but you couldn't stay long as the Church service had finished for the day and dozens of churchgoers flooded into the diner, most of which were hungry and impatient. It wasn't until only an hour of your shift was left that Lee managed to speak to you.

"Think I might have jinxed you earlier when I said it was quiet darling," he'd put his jacket on as the day crept on, somehow the weather had gotten so bad that even the heated diner felt cold. Lee couldn't imagine how you'd survived only wearing your thin dress that the owner had deemed an appropriate uniform.

"I don't know how these old folk can drink so much coffee," you laughed but it turned to a groan as you looked out the window. Lee noticed your annoyance and knew this was the perfect time to ask you.

"The weather's getting pretty bad out there sweetheart. You walking home?"

"Why would you remind me, Lee?"

"I can drive you home if you would like," please say yes, he thought.

"Really?" your mood improved swiftly at his offer.

"Of course darling. I wouldn't want to make you walk home through this," he gestured at the snow.

"Thank you," you leaned down and placed a kiss on his cheek, "You have no idea how happy I am."

You quickly ran off, joy coursing through your veins. This was it. You were going to be alone with him. You could finally make your move.

The next hour went excruciatingly slowly. Lee waited patiently for you to finish, not wanting to delay you in any way so the two of you could get to his car as quick as possible. His eyes followed the curves of your body as you flitted between the booths. All he could think about was fucking you in the back of his cruiser, tasting you as you climaxed, hearing his name fall off your lips. How was he going to survive this car journey?

As the two of you walked out of the diner, the cold air chilled your body, making you shiver. Lee took off his jacket, wrapping it around your shoulders and placing his arm around your waist. You leaned into his touch, desperate for more. Lee sat in the driver's seat and you shifted to sit as close as possible to him, the benched seating helping tremendously. You directed him to where he thought your house would be but instead, he ended up in a small clearing in the woods.

Before he could question it, you moved to straddle him, your legs on either side of his waist, your back touching the steering wheel.

"Sweetheart," he gazed up at you, "What are you doing?"

"Do you want to kiss me, Lee?" you asked, still unsure of how he'd respond.

"Fuck, of course, I do Y/N," euphoria flooded your senses as his mouth caressed your own. Leaning closer, you returned the embrace, your lips brushing over his. Slowly tracing your hands down his chest, you began nipping at his jaw and neck. Your hand moved to unzip his trousers but he moved it back to his chest.

"Not now sweetheart," he grasped your waist with his strong grip, "I want to do this properly."

"So you don't want to have sex with me?" you asked, slightly hurt by his rejection.

"That's not what this is about darling. I would love to sleep with you right now, right here in this car, but I want more than that."

"What do you mean more Lee?" fear rose inside you, "Is this not enough? Am I not enough?"

"Fuck of course not. I want to be with you Y/N. I want to date you. I want a life with you. Please, darling?"

His declaration was only met with more kisses from you.

"I'll take that as a yes then," he grinned.
