Sadie POV

        “SADIE!!” Screams a familiar voice from outside, banging over and over on the front door, making me shoot up from my sleep.

        Who is at the door, I'm trying to sleep.

        As I try to stand, I feel instantly weak.

        “How long was I out?” I say to myself as I go downstairs, and feel the cold from outside, some how seeping in. When I open the door, I see Steven, and his friends, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, holding a bunch of different kinds of food in their hands. My stomach growls loudly.

        Why am I so starving?

        “SADIE!!” screams Steven as he wraps himself around me in a hug, almost making me fall,

        “Whoa- um, hey Steven.” I look around and see mounds of snow everywhere, almost covering the whole town.

        “I thought you were frozen!” he says as he pulls away. Garnet suddenly hands me many bread loafs and I shrug, taking some and eating it fast in hunger. I say, with a mouth full of food,

        “How? It's only been an hour.”

        I think?

        Steven shakes his head,

        “no! It's been almost a week and a half!” My gut starts to feel sick.

        “W-What?” Steven nods, and Pearl starts to explain,

        “We've been fighting the gem monster for half the time while the whole town has been in a frozen coma, and we're going around town to wake people up.” Amethyst nods and starts to munch on one of the bags of food she is carrying,

        “Yeah, and we just defeated it a few minutes ago.” Steven says happily to me,

        “And it was an awesome battle!” Starting up my third loaf of bread, I stop.

        If the whole town has been asleep.

        What about Lars!?!

        Gasping, I run back inside and grab my coat and slip it on.

        “We've got to wake up Lars!” Steven nods in agreement. Garnet says, adjusting her shades,

        “You two go, we will keep waking up the town and giving them food.” As they run off, I'm already sprinting to Lars house.

        I hope he's OK.

        It doesn't take long until we're at his front door, and I'm banging it like crazy.

        “LARS! LARS WAKE UP!!” After about two minutes, I hear a scream from inside, and it's Lars,

        “Lars!” Suddenly, before I could break the door down, Lars opens it, and has a blanket over his head, and his face is pale.

        “S-Sadie!” I hug him and Lars looks at Steven,

        “Could you go and leave me with Sadie.” Steven nods and runs to the house beside Lars and starts to bang on their door. Lars pulls me inside, still with a blanket on his head.

        “Lars, are you-” He stops me,

        “I'm fine...I need a little help though.” I raise an eyebrow.

        “With?” He sighs,

        “Come on.” Lars starts to lead me upstairs to his room. When he closes the door, I see a razor and scissors,

        “So, whats with all this?” He turns to me, and takes off the blankets, his face a deep red. I see his hair was growing back, and had already covered his whole head, curls everywhere and out of control. A few fall in his face and he trys to tuck them back,

        “Can you help me?”

Lars POV

        My face is still a deep red as Sadie stares at my hair.

        “I need help cutting it all off, I look so stupid!” I start to freak out and run my hands through it, trying- but failing; to rip it off or something.

        “I can't go out like this! I'll be laughed at!!” She says, trying to calm me down,

        “Lars, it's not that bad-”

        “UH, YEAH IT IS!” Sadie blinks in surprise, and I sigh and hang my head. Sadie starts to talk,

        “Look Lars, I can help, I used to help cut my dads hair all the time.” I look up at her, and when she used the words, 'used to' it hurt her to say it. Nodding, I sit down on my bed and she grabs the pair of scissors and snips some off my hair off.

        “Why do you want to cut it anyway?” She asks, still cutting.

        “I dunno, I just hate my hair.” Frowning, I try not to move as much because I don't want her to accidentally cut me.

        “Well I like it, it's cute.” Starting to blush, I hide my cheeks in my hands, and Sadie puts the scissors down, and turns the razor on, and starts to buzz off the rest of my hair.

        “So, why did you used to cut your dads hair?” Sadie stops, but then continues,

        “W-Well, it was just a thing he asked me to do once and awhile.” I nod slowly and let her continue. After awhile, she turns the razor off and sets it down,

        “Finished.” I get up and go to my mirror. She did a great job, but my hair was still a bit curly.

        “You missed a few.” I say, trying not to sound annoyed.

        “I think it looks better on you.” Sadie says with a shrug, and I start to smile.

        I have to admit

        It does look cooler.                                                                

        Turning to her, I engulf her in a hug, and she hugs me back. My stomach makes a low growl, and I sigh,

        “I'm starving.” Sadie nods into my chest.

        “We've all been out for a week and a half, so, yeah we are.”

        Wow

        A week and a half.

        Sadie runs her hands through her hair and sighs,

        “We better get to the Big Donut, we might be getting a lot of people there soon.” Nodding in agreement, I start to get my coat and Sadie goes on ahead and waits outside for me. Just barely glancing out the window, I see a bunch of people, starting to get out of their houses and into the streets,

        It's gonna be a busy day.

        Suddenly, I see Jenny outside, and she spots me out too. A blush appears on my hair, as I see she is in her pj’s.

        Don't fall for her again Lars

        You don't need her.

        Before turning away, she gives me a wave, then a wink, then she blows me a kiss, and I feel my heart thud. Quickly, I put my coat on and run out to Sadie.

        “Come on we gotta go.” I grab her hand and we start to run to work.
