The Munich streets were covered in snow as Evangeline began her Saturday stroll towards Mats and Cathy's house. The happy couple had welcomed their newborn son into the world two days ago, and Cathy invited Eva and Lisa over to meet the little boy.

The blonde caught snowflakes on her tongue as they fell, remembering her younger years when both she and Joshua would spend hours outside their houses doing the same thing. Evangeline sighed thinking about her best friend; things hadn't been quite the same since their friendly dinner, and Eva wanted to ask her friends their advice on how to get things back to the way they used to be.

She grasped a gift bag in her hand tightly as she knocked on the Hummels' door. Much to her surprise however, neither Mats or Cathy answered the door; instead it was cupid herself, Lisa Müller.

"Long time no see!" Lisa laughed, wrapping Evangeline a hug. The two friends had flown back together from Dubai, as Thomas and Joshua had to stay in Dubai for winter training camp.

"Hi Cathy, Hi Mats," Eva greeted them before grabbing the finger of the baby Cathy was currently breastfeeding, "Hi there little one."

"Little one? Isn't that the nickname Thomas calls Joshua?" Mats questioned, taking a peek into the gift bag Evangeline had brought along.

Eva rolled her eyes before answering, "Not everything has to do with Josh, Mats."

Truth was, Joshua and Evangeline hadn't properly spoken since she left Dubai; just a little text message here and there. And even when they were on vacation together, Joshua practically ignored Eva after their almost-kiss. Every time they were alone together he would find an excuse to leave and it made Eva feel terrible. The poor girl didn't know what she did wrong--she just wanted her best friend back.

"You do realize that we only invited you over for the tea, right?" Mats messed Evangeline's hair before taking a seat on the couch next to her.

Eva sighed, fully aware that the defender was only joking. "And what would you like to know, Mats?"

"What happened between you and Jo? We got some information from that one," He pointed his finger across the living room where Lisa was sitting, "Which wasn't hard. She's just dying to spill any secrets she's heard. Lisa's one of the those gossipy wag's," Mats said with a smile as the equestrian threw a pillow at his head.

Mats held his hands up in a surrender as he caught the soft object, "I'm only saying that's why you and Thomas are perfect for each other! We all know he's the biggest gossip king in all of Munich! It's a compliment, Lees, it really is!"

Lisa wagged her finger at him as both Cathy and Evangeline tried to stifle their laughter, "I'll let it slide this time, Hummels. But if you cross me again let me tell you--your hair will somehow turn a certain shade of pink."

The German international shrugged, unbothered by her threat, "It wouldn't matter, Lisa. I'd still look hot either way."

Cathy hummed in agreement, covering herself back up after feeding her son, "It's true, Lisa. Mats is just one of those people that could try the craziest fashion trend or have wild hair and still pull it off. He's that beautiful," She peered at her husband with a love-struck look in her eyes.

"Okay, enough of this Mats praise; it's making me quite queasy," Evangeline teased as the Bayern defender retorted, "Are you sure you aren't pregnant, Eva? You know after you and Joshua's magical night?"

"Zip it Hummels. I think that Max and Serge interrupting us is a sign that we aren't supposed to be anything more than friends. That's what we've always been and it's what we'll always be," She stared at the ground sadly.

"Aw Eva," Mats slid an arm around her. He could tell that the poor girl was deflated and from what he could see from the training camp the last few weeks, Joshua was feeling the same way. It wasn't his place to relay that information however, so he was ready to wait for Joshua to man up and confess his feelings to Evangeline himself.

"Don't give up, okay hun?" Cathy chimed in while holding their son out to the girl. "Here, hold him."

Evangeline held him close to her, as he wrapped a little fist around her finger. He had piercing brown eyes just like his daddy, and the same hair color too. Because Cathy and Mats were a stunning couple, Eva was sure their little guy was going to be a heartthrob in a couple of years.

"What's his name?" She inquired as she cooed at the baby.

"Ludwig Mats Hummels," Cathy announced with a proud smile. Mats grinned at his wife, planting a kiss on her cheek before pulling her onto his lap.

"He's absolutely beautiful," Evangeline rubbed her thumb over his little fingers before she was rudely interrupted.

"Yeah he's adorable but what about the tea?" Lisa slapped her hands together repeatedly, trying to make her point clear.

"Thank you Lisa!" Mats nodded towards her, "I'm glad one of us is staying on track!"

Eva groaned, not wanting to discuss the ordeal any longer. The piece of information she was withholding from her friends was possibly the most pivotal of the entire situation.

"The next morning Joshua came into my room and told me that he was sorry things got out of hand the previous night. We were both a bit tipsy, and said the alcohol got to him. He never would've tried to kiss me if he was sober," She grimaced while reminiscing on the memory.

"That's bullshit!" Lisa stood up, waking up little Ludwig.

"Goddammit Lisa, can't you keep your voice down? Jesus Christ," He hummed in annoyance before taking his distraught son from Evangeline's arms.

"You're right, I'm sorry," She whispered, apologizing for her outburst. "It's not true though, Eva; it can't be. Thomas and I were watching your interaction in the backyard and it was genuine; sober or tipsy. It wasn't a show--there were true feelings behind it from both of you."

Evangeline ran her fingers through her hair, frustrated by the situation. She cared for her best friend more than she probably should, and the mess was causing her emotions to be all over the place.

"I mean that's pretty much an indication that we're only friends. So even if I do have romantic feelings for Jo, they're never going to be reciprocated so I should just move on. I need to move on."

"This is making me so upset," Lisa pouted, sprawling her body over the chair.

"That can't be the end of Joshua and Eva; it can't be," Cathy droned, shaking her head in denial.

"You know what?" Mats sat up straight, staring at Evangeline intensely, "Fuck him. Fuck Joshua. If he can't see how good you are for him in that way then fuck him. You have guys ogling you wherever you go, Eva. You can have any one of them, so why should you be wasting your time on a dumbfuck guy when you can have someone who appreciates you? It doesn't even have to be a serious relationship, but you should at least kiss someone else to prove to yourself that Joshua isn't the only guy out there. I love him, but if he's going to be that dense than fuck him."

The three woman sat there, stunned by Mats speech. Sure he had been a captain at Borussia Dortmund so he had given a few speeches before, but that was one hell of a pep talk.

"You know what Mats? You're right. I need to get laid by someone else and then I'll forget all about Josh," Evangeline stood up confidently, kissing all three off the Hummels' cheeks swiftly.

"Okay well I didn't say that," The Bayern defender emphasized. "I meant more so a little kiss, but if you do have sex, make sure you use protection. You're not ready for one of these yet," He blew a raspberry on Ludwigs cheek as his son look up at his dad, giggling uncontrollably.

"Yes, daddy," Eva agreed in a sarcastic before disclosing her plan, "Corentin's coming over to Joshua's tomorrow for an English lesson. He's proposed a friends with benefits arrangement for the two of us, so what's the harm? I'm single, he's single, and there won't be any feelings involved. I won't fuck Joshua, but I will fuck Corentin," She licked her lips devilishly as she exited the Hummels' home.

"Good lord almighty, this should be interesting," Mats grinned wickedly when Evangeline left. "Joshua won't be able to hide his feelings once he hears Eva and Coco are together. And I can't wait to see his face when he does."
