It was the day of the Choosing Ceremony and Beatrice was up. She cut her hand and let her blood fall on the burning coals of the Dauntless bowl. She walked behind a man and everyone was whispering the man in front of her said, "I never thought a stiff would become a dauntless." after everyone chose their factions the Dauntless took off running to the train and jumped on the train and almost fell then a girl named Christina helped her on.

"Thank you." Beatrice said and the girl nodded. When they got to the Dauntless building they all jumped off and then a man said they had to jump down. No one would then Beatrice volunteered to jump. When she jumped she grabbed a man's hand and he helped her down.

"What, were you pushed?"

"No."

"First jumper!" Four called and everyone cheered. "Whats your name?"

"Bet-"

"You get to change your name if you want." Four said and the girl nodded.

"Tris."

"Ok. First jumper, Tris!" He called.
