-Discovery of Felvine-

Roughly two and a half weeks have passed since Izuku agreed to join UA. Izuku and Golbert have been given three months to prepare and train for UA.

The preparation for UA was quick since it only required Izuku and Golbert to recieve their schedule, and for Izuku to gather the necessary supplies for classes and receive his uniform.

For the two weeks that have passed, Izuku and Golbert haven't done much other than go out and research some of the new flourishing wildlife and plant life.

The discovery of these new forms of life are rather mysterious as they just seemed to have appeared in Japan. Some of the new plant life that Izuku has researched seem to have some medicinal properties, while some of the new wildlife that has appeared are endemic to Japan, same with the plants that Izuku has found.

The appearance of the new plants and animals have led Izuku to wanting to know why they have appeared and why they are only endemic to Japan.

A few theories have been made and have been proven to be false. A final theory that Izuku has come up with is the reason behind the new plants and wildlife is due to the calamity that was caused by the monster known as the blazing black dragon: Alatreon. Izuku believes that he is the cause of the new plants and animals to appear, but that theory has been much harder to prove since there is little to no resources to back it up.

Moving away from that subject, Izuku and Golbert have continued to conduct research of the new plants and fauna, with the discovery of a new plant.

The day was rather humid, but thanks to the shade that the treetops provide, Izuku and Golbert have been able to wander a forested area of Japan for quite some time without complaints of the heat.

Wandering through nature proves to be tiring, especially if you've been wandering for roughly four hours, Izuku and Golbert came across a small stream and decided to rest there for a while.

"Phew, never thought we'd get to rest, I'm tired from all that walking."

"Yea, same here."

"Then why did you suggest that we walk instead of flying?"

"I dunno? Experience nature better?"

The sat at the edge of the bank of the small flowing stream, watching as small fish swim by, even spotting some Konchu, which Izuku has classified as a neopteron, a insectoid-like creature with a hard yellow shell body that is able to curl itself and roll, similar to armadillos.

They sat there for a few moments until...

Sniff sniff

Catching the attention of Golbert's nose, he begins to sniff the air as he began to smell something new to him. This doesn't go unnoticed by Izuku.

"Hey Golbert, you good?"

"Yea, just that something smells wonderful."

"Huh?"

Izuku who's confused, takes a few sniffs of the air, and smells nothing. While distracted by smelling the air, he doesn't hear the sounds of rocks and pebbles being walked on by Golbert.

"I don't smell anything. Golbert are you sure-"

Izuku goes to speak to Golbert, who just seemingly disappeared from his side.

"Golbert?"

Izuku stands up and begins to look around, calling out to Golbert who doesn't respond back.

"Golbert?! Hey bud, where are you?!"

Moving away from the stream, Izuku wanders through the forest calling out to Golbert attempting to find his felyne friend.

Minutes pass by and no sign of Golbert to be found. Worry begins to set in as Izuku continues to call out for Golbert.

"Where can he be? Golbert! Where are you?!"

Rustle rustle

From a group of bushes was some rustling that caught Izuku's attention.

"Golbert?"

Keeping caution, Izuku makes his way over to the bushes, reaches out a hand to move the branches aside...

"WAHOOO!"

Golbert hops out from the bushes landing a headbutt on Izuku's head. Both simultaneously fall to the ground with Izuku rubbing the sore area of his head, while Golbert, well...

"I feel so alive!"

"Golbert! Where have you been? I've been calling out for you?"

"I was searching for something with a pawsome smell and I found it!"

"What did you find? And why are you so hyper?"

"I found a plant I've never seen before and it smelled so good!"

"That doesn't explain why you are so hyper?"

"Well I don't know why I did it! but I picked a leaf off of the plant and took a bite out of it! And now, I feel like I can take on the world!"

Izuku sweatdrops at the sudden final comment that Golbert made, but he collects what he could gather from what Golbert said. A plant that supposedly smells "pawsome", and when you consume it, it makes you feel hyper?

"Golbert, can you take me to this plant?"

"Sure thing pawtner, follow me!"

Moving quickly, Golbert runs off on all fours, being followed by Izuku who's trying his best to keep up. Both run through forested area for a few minutes before they find themselves standing at the base of a rather large tree.

"They're over there!"

Izuku looks to where Golbert is suggesting where the plants are, and low and behold, a plant that Izuku doesn't recognize, stands about a third taller than Golbert, but about a little over half of Izuku's height.

The two move to the plant and inspect it.

"This is the plant? Sniff I don't smell anything unique."

Izuku goes and picks a single leaf off the plant and brings it to his mouth before taking a bite.

"Blegh You ate this? It tastes awful."

"Really? It tasted good to me."

Golbert who has finally calmed down, questions Izuku.

"What did it taste like to you?"

"Well, it tasted sweet when I had some."

"Well it tastes bitter to me, and I don't seem to be hyper like you were."

"That's odd."

"Yeah, well let's take a few samples and we can conduct a bit of research on it when we get home."

The two pick off a few more leaves and put them into a little pouch before putting it away.

"Alright, that is more than enough, let's head home now Golbert."

"Pawsome!"

Shrouding himself in an icy mist, Izuku disappears and then reappears from the mist as Legiana. Golbert hops on his back and Izuku takes to the air, flying through the treetop canopy to fly home.

-Practice makes Perfect-

Izuku could only look down to what he had in his hands. Due to his "quirk" not being one that he could regularly use since he needs to have full control of it, and since his wyverian "quirk" doesn't grant any natural buffs, except for a theorized prolonged lifespan, he needs something that would allow him to be able to keep up with other students.

This led Izuku to wanting to learn martial arts with one particular art in mind, that being bojutsu. However, to effectively use bojutsu, Izuku requires a staff.

That led him to asking Toshinori if he knows anyone that can supply him with a staff, he was lucky to know that Toshinori has a friend named David Shield, a top tier scientist and inventor, and could ask if he can help Izuku.

Which he accepted. This was roughly a week after the discovery of what is now called felvine. Izuku drew out the blueprints and design for his custom staff and sent them to David.

Coming to around half of the second month, Izuku's custom staff was finished and sent to Toshinori and Izuku who is now looking at the custom staff.

Its design is more unusual for a regular staff that would be used to perform bojutsu, but Izuku is going to use bojutsu as a base for trying to come up with a new form of martial arts. The body of the staff looks almost wooden or something akin to worn out or dry bone. One end of the staff has a blade made similar to the body being almost wooden or bone like, and on the other side of the staff is a thick club like end.

The name given to the staff that was written on the blueprints was "Glaive". Not a very creative name, but it works.

As Izuku looks down to his glaive in his hands, Golbert comments about the glaive.

"Looks pawsome Izuku."

"Thanks Golbert, now that I have my glaive, let's go and train with it."

"Alright."

The duo leave their house and just head to the backyard of the house. The house is somewhat located outside of the nearby city Musutafu in some of the forested areas.

Once they get outside, they just kinda stand there for a moment kinda unsure where to begin.

Izuku begins by doing a side slash with the glaive's bladed end facing outwards. Izuku swings his glaive side to side a few more times, trying to get a hang of the glaive.

In the background, Golbert is just sitting on the backyard patio watching Izuku swing his glaive around. From behind him, a set of sliding glass doors could be heard opening and closing. Taking a seat beside Golbert, Toshinori came out from the house to watch Izuku practice with his glaive.

"Did he just start?"

"Yes sir."

Golbert and Toshinori continue to watch Izuku as he swings the glaive around a few times and do a few spins but stumbles every now and then.

At one point during Izuku's practice, he tries to vault with his glaive but ultimately loses balance and just drops to the floor getting some dirt on his cheek. This earned a few snickers from Toshinori and Golbert.

"Hey Izuku. Stop for just a moment."

Toshinori stand up from his seat and walks towards Izuku.

"What is it Toshi?"

"I had an idea. Why don't you spar against me? You try your best to mix up your moves and hit me at least three times while I act as more of a training dummy. How does that sound Izuku?"

"Oh, sure Toshi. Doesn't sound to hard. I'm going to assume that you will also avoid my attempts to to hit you?"

"Yup."

Toshinori buffs up from his more skeletal physique to one of a hulking figure with huge muscles.

"Now, try and hit me, if you can."

All Might taunts Izuku who gets into a stance with the glaive in front with both arms holding it. Izuku rushes forward going to attempt a side slash with the glaive, only for Toshinori to backstep and avoid the slash.

Izuku follows up on the slash by raising the glaive upwards and comes down doing a downward slash. Toshinori once again avoids that slash by sidestepping.

Izuku backs off from Toshinori and stands there, inspecting Toshinori. Izuku begins to circle Toshinori taking sidesteps around the tall buff man while said tall buff man stands still, only moving his head to watch Izuku.

Izuku rushes towards Toshinori and attempts to vault over Toshinori, but once again, Izuku fails to vault with his galive and just tumbles to the floor rolling towards Toshinori who watches him.

Izuku rolls close enough however that he recovers from his fall and swings his glaive, and makes contact just above one of Toshinori's ankles and makes a small cut.

Toshinori does a little jump back as Izuku stands back up facing Toshinori with a smirk on his face. Toshinori could only smile.

"Well done Izuku, but you are gonna have to more than little tricks now to succeed."

"Hai!"

After that, Izuku and Toshinori continued to spare for hours with Izuku continuing to practice with his glaive, and to say the least, both Izuku and Toshinori cherished and lived in this moment of bonding.

-Shocking Progress-
The three months are almost over. Izuku and Golbert have prepared themselves and trained themselves. Izuku, still not entirely perfect with his glaive, has improved greatly. Golbert got into cooking and tinkering. When it came to cooking, Golbert made a dango recipe that involved the use of felvine.

With the discovery of felvine, Izuku and Golbert discovered that it acts as a booster only to Golbert. They tried giving some to Nezu to see if it effects him similarly, but it affected him how it would with a human. It tastes bitter and doesn't give a booster effect to humans, while for Golbert, it tastes sweet and does provide a boost for him. The boost involves increasing Golberts natural physical abilities such as his strength and speed, but only slightly and nears just a regular humans strength. It also heightens his awareness.

Returning to the topic of Golbert cooking, Golbert created a dango recipe that involves using felvine. When it came to him tinkering, he ended up creating a few gadgets and traps, such as a small shock trap that he calls "shock purr-ison", and he made a large boomerang shaped like a ninja star that he calls "mega boomerang".

Izuku's focus on learning to effectively use his glaive made him forget to also make progress with his "quirks" and that's what we are seeing right now.

"Alright Izuku, let's see if you are able to progress with your powers. I want you to transform into everyone of your monsters, starting off with Yian-Kut-Ku, think you can do that?"

"Sure thing Toshi."

Izuku, and Toshinori stood out in the middle of their open backyard while Golbert watched from a distance on the backyard patio.

Izuku stood silent as smoke began to billow out from Izuku's body, slowly more and more smoke was produced and eventual he was engulfed by the smoke disappearing. Golbert and Toshinori watched as Izuku cleared the smoke away from him with a pair of wings, revealing to appear as the monster they named Yian-Kut-Ku.

The monster that Izuku changed into had two fan-like ear frills on top of its head. It's beak was large with the jaw being bulkier than the top, and its scales range from orange to pink to beige. And its tail was long and thin. The membrane of the wings were somewhat a deep blue with bright yellow eyes.

Izuku walks around for few minutes showing that he had full control of bird wyvern. Walking to stand beside Toshinori, who was relatively tall, stood taller than him.

"Excellent that you have full control, let's move on to Legiana."

Izuku squawks and takes off running, flapping his wings he takes to the air being surrounded in the familiar icy mist, disappearing and reappearing as the large blue and beige wyvern.

"Izuku says he has full control of Legiana."

"Does he? Well let's see then. Izuku! Do a few tricks in the air!"

Listening to Toshinori, Izuku releases a screech and flies around the air for a few minutes performing spins in the air before stopping and coming down to the ground.

"Excellent work Izuku. Now..."

Toshinori begins to buff up.

"...Let's see Espinas. Golbert, keep a fair distance and stay cautious."

"Will do Mr. Yagi."

Golbert hides behind some of the patio furniture but continues to watch while remaining cautious. The reason being is that Espinas is one of the monsters that Izuku has some control over, but not always.

Izuku, in the form of Legiana, begins to billow out smoke, similar to the transformation process of Yian-Kut-Ku. When enough smoke is produced, its quickly cleared away with a huge gust of wind made by a single flap of large green wings.

From the cleared smoke reveals a bipedal wyvern, not entirely similar to Legiana, but the body structure is somewhat similar with green scales covering the entire body. Hot pink spikes that could easily be mistaken for red, protrude from many areas of the green scaled wyvern such as the wings, back, legs, head and tail and a much larger singular spike on the front of its head like a rhino. The body, legs and tail are much thicker and more muscular than Legiana's slim build.

Izuku releases a loud roar that makes Toshinori and Golbert cover their ears due to how loud it was.

Recovering from the roar, Toshinori gets in a slight stance, prepared for a possible outburst from Izuku.

Izuku stands there looking at Toshinori for a few minutes, but a sudden feeling of frustration comes to the thorny wyvern as it begins to shake its head, letting out a few softer roars. While this is happening, smoke begins to billow from Izuku's body while he begins to violently toss his body around from the uncomfortable feeling he's experiencing. Slowly he's engulfed in smoke and disappears.

He reappears from the clearing smoke in his human body on his knees and hands panting.

"You good Izuku?"

"Kinda Toshi. Espinas still has a good amount of control."

Izuku answers Toshinori as he comes to help Izuku up.

"You held onto control longer this time, that's progress."

"Yea, but still not enough."

"Hey, don't downplay yourself. You did well being able to hold that much control, and you lasted longer than last time. Five minutes is better one."

"Yea, I guess it is."

"You were pawsome Izuku."

"Hehe, Thanks Golbert."

"Izuku, do you want to try Lagicrust?"

"It's Lagiacrus Toshi."

"My bad, but do you?"

Izuku was unsure of how to answer. Lagiacrus is the one monster, other than Alatreon, that he has no control over. On one hand, he wants to attempt control of Lagiacrus, but on the other hand, he doesn't want to put Toshinori and Golbert at risk, especially when they are just in their backyard close enough to home.

"I'm not forcing you to try and control it Izuku, but it would be better if you could control it better."

"Sigh, I know."

Izuku ponders for a moment think if he should attempt control, and he makes his decision.

"Let's do it."

"Alright then. Just know that I will have to take you down if you have an outburst."

"I know."

"Alright then, Golbert get inside and stay safe."

"You got it."

Golbert scurries to the house making his way inside and watches from behind a pair of sliding glass doors.

Toshinori makes a lot of distance between him and Izuku standing infront of the forested area instead of the house. Izuku faces Toshinori before closing his eyes and tries to concentrate.

A few minutes pass with nothing happening until blue bolts of lightning begin to arc and shoot out from Izuku's body striking the air and ground. More and more continue to shoot from his body reaching out further and further. Slowly Toshinori and Golbert are blinded by the amount of light that the lightning is producing.

A minute or two pass and the blinding light dies down, allowing Toshinori and Golbert to uncover their eyes. Toshinori gets into a fight ready stance as he looks towards the monster that once was Izuku.

The monsters head could be compared to look like a crocodile. Its scales are a grayish-blue with the underbelly being beige.It also possess dermal spike that go from the top of the head and down the. neck and back that are a brown color. The monsters neck alone made it almost as tall as the house and towered above Toshinori in his buff appearance, and its body was long, so long that it standing in the middle of the open backyard, its tail was moving and toppling some of the patio furniture that got in the tails way.

Lagiacrus, that was the name of the monstrous leviathan. Seemingly interested in its environment, its head raises high and begins to look around.

"Izuku?"

Toshinori calls out to the leviathan, hoping that Izuku would be the one to respond. The sudden call out quickly draws the leviathan's attention to the tall muscular blonde. The monster lets out a low but audible growling hiss before letting out a roar far stronger than the one of Espinas. As this happens, its spikes glow a white hue and electricity begins to spark in its jaws.

The roar forces Toshinori to flinch and cover his ears.

Finishing the roar, the leviathan rushes towards Toshinori and takes a leap towards him. Toshinori just barely avoided the attack and the creature passes him. Both quickly recover and face each other. Lagiacrus moves first opening its jaw and rushes towards Toshinori.

Timing it perfectly, Toshinori delivers a punch to the bottom of its jaw sending the head of the monster up wards and forcing it to tumble and roll. Toshinori however didn't count it to roll towards him and got rolled over by the creature.

Lagiacrus lets out a pained hiss as it shakes its head slightly dazed from the powerful punch. Toshinori groans in pain as he gets back up from being rolled over by a few ton monster.

Both recover and face each other once more. Lagiacrus doesn't rush in like it did previously but rather move its head around inspecting Toshinori for any signs of weakness, which Toshinori doesn't falter under the intimidating and inspecting gaze of the monster.

"Izuku, come on bud, snap out of it take control."

Toshinori continues to try and call out to Izuku. The leviathan grows bored and rushes at Toshinori once again jaws wide open. Toshinori prepares for the attack.

When Lagiacrus closes in, Toshinori stops its jaws from shutting down on him by grabbing the top and bottom of the jaw, keeping it wide open. The leviathan tries to push forward but Toshinori doesn't allow it.

That's when a familiar feeling of frustration hits the monster as it begins to shake its head violently and tosses Toshinori to the side.

When he was tossed, he recovers quickly and gets ready to attack, but he sees the leviathan shaking its head as it releases frustrated roars and drags its head on the ground, digging up grass and dirt.

"That's it Izuku keep it up, you can do this."

The creature continues to shake and violently toss its body and head around in frustration. Its body begins to spark with electricity and continues to grow. As the lightning grows to bright, Lagiacrus lets out one final roar before being engulfed in light.

Once again, both Toshinori and Golbert are forced to cover their eyes once more. They didn't have to cover their eyes for long as the light died down, revealing an unconscious Izuku laying down on his side on the ground.

Toshinori makes his way over to Izuku and makes sure that he's alright, which he is. The sound of sliding glass doors could be heard opening as Golbert stood at the threshold of the house.

Toshinori picks up the unconscious greenette and heads to the house.

"How is he Mr. Yagi?"

"He's fine. Your worry about him is well appreciated."

"He's my pawtner, of course I'm going to worry, I wouldn't be where I am today without him."

"Glad to hear that."

"But did you see it Mr. Yagi? Izuku actually managed to get a bit of control."

"I did, which is excellent. He came along way. Now, let me take him to your guy's room so he can rest."

"You got it."

Entering the house, Toshinori carries Izuku to his room while Golbert closes the doors behind them and goes to sit on one of the couches.

"I'm proud of you Izuku."
