chapter 1

"You to, can become a star"

Izuku Midoriya's heart burst into a million pieces. It's already embarrassing enough after being caught singing under a bridge by your idol and No.1 superstar All might but being told that he can follow in his footsteps made his soul leave his body.

"Wha-?" The only noise that the fragile green haired boy could speak.

" you asked if you could become a star like me, even though you have had no training in acting whatsoever. And even though I told you no, you still persisted, you didn't give up. And after listening to your voice, my god you have what it takes." All might spike proudly. He felt a little bit guilty. He was trying to avoid the media and thousands of paparazzi and to his luck he bumped into the small boy. He had previously declined the boy's dreams. In this new society, you need the top training to be able to anywhere. After having no training his entire life, all night's instinct thought was that it was impossible.

But that voice, that voice was like a gods. He may not have had any vocal coach, but it felt like It was a blessed rain after the drought. Some of his techniques were sloppy sure but nothing a little practice can't fix.

Izuku face became wet with tears, as he fell in the to ground gripping onto his uniform. Those words stung even though they were encouraging his dream. He could have never believed this day would come, his idol right In front of him, praising him. It felt unheard of.

" young midoriya, I want you to become my successor, and become a performer who puts a smile on peoples faces. The new symbol of the arts!" He exclaimed, and the boys screams became louder, internally and externally.

After about 5 months of training and one hellish of a audition, he made it into UA. He got in by the skin of his teeth. Even though he had a few months of hardcore training, he had really only had just put his newfound ability into practice on the day of the audition. His physical theatre and dialogue were still sloppy and shaky, which compared to the talented people around him, was an automatic fail. However, due to the written exam, which he got 98% on, and his singing audition. He managed to snatch a place in the top class of the school.

It was a boarding school, which means he had to live in a dorm inside school campus, but he didn't mind that, not like he had much of a home anyway. In a way, it was good that he could leave his mum, it means that she only had one mouth to feed, she could use the extra money. However, he found it was a bit embarrassing when they came over to collect his belongings.... when He had none. He had two outfits, a few study books and a mattress on the floor. He would rather have good meals than material goods.

He kissed his mother goodbye, exclaiming that he will visit during the weekends like she asked and headed out the door, proudly represented the uniform of UA.

School campus was Massive. He was almost late to class because it took him ages just to find his homeroom. For his petite physique, he did have a few muscles bulked on his body. He was also surprisingly flexible for a boy, worth his girlish features, you would mistake him for a female. He huffed as he opened the classroom door. Surprisingly there were only a few people there, a girl with bright pink hair with her eyes... tattooed??? A blond boy with a black zigzag highlight being repeatedly hit with a drumstick by a girl equity purple hair. A small brunette laughing at a tall boy with glasses, waving his arms around like he was doing the robot. And finally. Kaachan. His heart stopped, of course he would be here, he is the most talented guy he knew. Kaachan looked up and midoriya panicked. By that time he knew he was dead, his internal monologue repeatedly shouting, I'm a goner.

If death stares could kill, he would have a thousand bullets in his head. But he was no longer carried a smug grin on his face, only pure and unfiltered rage. What had Midoriya ever done to him to make him so angry. There was so much hate directed to him in that one look, that Midoriya started to feel his eyes prick with tears, all Deku ever wanted to be recognise by the one he up most admired, but he hated his guts, and didn't know why.

Bakugo didn't realise the air cutting eye contact he had shared with Deku. Why was he here, he had no training, no top professionals who sponsored him. So how did he get in. He angry was quickly interrupted by the sight of the nerd getting teary eyed, something about this image made his heart but he assumed it was because his eyes didn't want to see such a pathetic sight. He turned away to look at the window with a small tch.

Deku's eyes were miraculously stopped watering when his train of thought was Interrupted by the brunette and the glasses.

" your name is deku right !?" The small girl asked leaning uncomfortably close the freckled male.

" wh-wha" seems to be the only vocabulary he knows

" I heard the explosion hair blonde over there mutter it under his breathe !!" She smiled, probably not understanding what it means. She pointed at bakugo which only warranted his attention, now deku was double dead.

" my name is ochako Uraraka!" She smiles and finally moved away from his blushing face. " and I'm tenya iida, it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance !!" The tall boy remarked. Izuku covered his face to hide the blush.

" w-well actually, m-my name is I-Izuku midoriya, kaacha- I'm mean bakugo just days that to make fun of me." The stuttered out, Uraraka looked at the floor in disappointment and then immediately looked back up in glee.

" Well I think the name deku has a 'I-can-do-it' vibe, it can totally be a star persona." she bounces around in her spot, seeming way more excited than she should be. izuku's heart felt like it was expanding, he had never thought of that dumb childish name to be so inspirational. before he could respond, a deep and tired voice bellowed behind them.

"we are not here to make friends, take your seats" Midoriya turned around to find a homeless looking man, lying down on the floor looking directly at him.

this school is weird, he internally screamed.

~*

"just because its our first lesson, doesn't mean I'm going to let you brats easy. this is a test to see what kind of talent you have; we will do this by a talent show. Btu this isn't some kiddy unconditional support. If I find that you are not talented enough, I will have you personally removed from my class. You have five minutes to do whatever you want to do, pair-up, find a script, find a song, find a choreography, whatever you do, get prepared."

Izuku internally screamed. He didn't realize that he would have to perform so quickly. To be honest, izuku's confidence is lower than the IQ of turkey. He had no self confidence and wasn't convince that his voice was as amazing as people say. Izuku found that when he hears himself, it sounds too shaky, too high for a male, too pitchy. Surprisingly he never gave up, even though he hated his own voice, he never stopped practicing, spending nights practicing his tonality and harmony. He never stopped trying and now it led him here today, it felt almost like a dream. He watched his classmates start to stand up and collectively get up and walk out the room, Izuku started to stumble to get his things together before he realised Kaachan was still sitting in the desk in front of him, barely moving a muscle. Izuku felt he was being a bit too creepy by staring at the boy, watching his steadied breathing, and yet he couldn't tear his eyes away.

"I'm going to beat you" Kaachan suddenly exclaimed, his voice was calm but harsh. Izuku felt his heart burst our of his body, before he could take in the guys sudden word, bakugo got up and turned around to look at the small freckled boy and slam his palm against his desk, it felt like that contact could cause the desk to explode. "I know you are a little fucking copy-cat, but just because you are here, doesn't mean that you are better than me, you are still just a stupid useless deku! I'm sure you voice sounds like a cat having its throat ran over by a bus. You will be expelled straight away you piece of shit" he screamed in his face.

deku couldn't help but feel downtrodden, the weight for those words made him feel like Atlas. Everything came crumbling down onto him in that one second. As Deku's tears became to past lightly dusted freckled cheek, bakugo felt a pain in his heart. What he said was fucking horrible and he regretted it as soon as it fell into his mouth, it reminded him of that one time he told deku to kill himself. that whole night bakugo was scared that deku would actually do it, considering how impressionable that nerd is like. However, he was too stubborn and too 'up-his-own-ass' to apologise, but the least he could do was stop, if not the pain in his chested wouldn't stop. Bakugo couldn't help but feel like absolute shit though, he looked into deku's eyes and pure sadness and disappointment, 'this fucking cry baby.'

Deku was surprised to find bakugo grabbing a tissue and wiped away his tears, in his own rough way. "stop fucking crying you cry baby, just practice so you can prove my point." He said angrily but lest harsh as he did before. He turned around with a tch and walked out the door with his hands in his pockets. Izuku's face automatically went to a blush. 'What was with that sudden change in attitude, one minute he is shouting at me, next minute he attempted to comfort me, don't play with my emotions like that Kaachan.' He didn't know what to feel anymore, should he be sad, angry, happy? he believed all he could feel was confusion. But he couldn't think about that right now. 'I only have a few minutes to decide on a song and practice it.' He grabbed his belongings and dashed out the room to find the grand hall where we were supposed to perform. On the way he was think of a song that could show his range. he was a sopranist, which meant his voice could reach the same as a females, not the same as opera though. The only thing he was proud of what his pitch range, for a male it was unusually high. He mumbled different songs that could do under his breath.

"I don't want to sing a song that has no meaning to me, I need emotion to carry through whilst I'm performing." He mumbled to himself. in that moment he realised something. "a song that carries emotion is a song that I have a connection with. then why don't I do an original song." Admittedly it was a stupid idea, it has more risk than a mainstream song, if the song isn't very good or doesn't allow him to express my vocal range as well as he could. Plus Izuku had never shown anyone his songs, they were very personal and very kept emotions.

On the other hand, it would show he had more creative skills and he could let his heart out, finally a place to speak his mind. His mind skimmed from the library of original songs to find something that corresponds to his emotions at this moment. Izuku's lungs felt like it had shrunk in size. Am I really going to perform that song, am I ready to perform it? His mind skipped to his previous encounter with an explosive blond boy and thought to himself for a moment.

Maybe it will make him hear me.
