LostDaughterOfHades

Do you approve of read-for-reads and follow-for-follows?

I used to be one of those people who would do a follow for follows, but I learnt to know that popularity doesn't really matter. I would rather have people reading my books or following me because they willingly read my books and not because I told them "Oh I'll read you book if you read mine" or "Follow me and I'll follow you."

Do you feel that your writing has improved since you joined Wattpad?

I would say it has improved massively. I had an older account before, it says I joined in 2013 but I joined in 2012. If I looked back on my work from back then, I would scream at myself because my work was terrifyingly horrible! But writing on Wattpad constantly has helped me improve. In school, I find it hard to go up to a teacher and ask to read my story. On Wattpad, it's much easier, and therefore it is easier for me to get critiqued and improve.

Which do you think are the more popular genres on Wattpad, and why?

Fanfiction. I don't have anything against Fanfiction, but I really hope that someday another genre can take over it. I think it's the most popular because there are kids on Wattpad. And kids have rolemodels or idols that they want to write about. If you click onto romance, there will be a fanfiction somewhere. If you click fantasy, there will be a fanfiction somewhere.

How did you find out about Wattpad?

I searched writing websites into google and searched and searched. I wanted to share my stories so badly, because I can't do it in school. And then I found Wattpad. It was better than all the other sites I had visited, and I stayed on Wattpad, and eventually I joined Wattpad

Would you recommend Wattpad to any of your friends who didn't like writing so much, to get them into it?

I have recommended Wattpad to all my friends already actually aha, but one of my friends actually reads rather than writing, and I have still yet to make her write something!

What do you think is the best attitude towards About Me's?

About Me's? I think AM's help readers know authors. It helps people interact with other people, so if you liked Sherlock BBC, a reader could message them, saying Oh, you like Sherlock too? And a convo starts. It's a good way for people to interact with others. However, I feel like AM's can be overused sometimes, because people use it as a dating status. This isn't a dating website, it's a writing/reading social website.
